Awful I couldn’t even eat the food had to throw it away wasn’t cooked at all and it definitely wasn’t fresh. Won’t be coming back!

Had the fish and chips, huge piece of very good fish.

We arrived about 9.00 pm for fish and chips. These were freshly cooked for us (we saw the potatoes whole!) and we had the best fish and chips we've had for years. Crispy batter, beautiful fish (not from frozen) and great chips. Really excellent, thank you Plaice!

Definitely the best in town for both food and price. Lovely family running the shop, very friendly and always chucks in extra chips or scallops. Recommend trying the chicken kebab on naan, also comes with free chips. 5 star

Really nice food, friendly staff and good prices. The place is clean and always busy we go there often including this evening. Chips and curry sauce is a favourite saying that it all is 😂

We were staying in Ludlow and called into The Plaice for a takeaway evning meal. We chose kebab and chips; both kebabs were on naan bread, rather than pitta (also available), a great alternative. The quality and portions sizes were excellent, and the staff friendly. If we live nearby, we would be regular customers, for the menu choices are extensive and the prices offer tremendous value. Great place (er, no pun).

Had sausage and chips here, it was ok ... nothing special but nothing awful either. Good value for money. A run of the mill chip shop.

Stayed at ludlow touring site and had a chicken madras and mixed kebab delivered, absolutely gorgeous food husband said its the best curry he has ever had and he's had a few lol

Used to be the best in town when the old Sikh guy had it. Went drastically downhill since. Owner hangs about outside smoking, not the cleanest looking inside, and food not great. Had a 1 star health status for a while, has gained a couple of stars since. Does seem to have its regulars and is open later than the other Chip shops in the town, apart from the Turkish kebab shops, and they are another story.

Quite frankly the best Indian chicken kebab I've ever had in my life! Great value for money and the proprieter was very friendly and polite. Would recommend The Plaice over and above more expensive places to buy food.

We use this chip shop fortnightly the food is always beautiful. Indian food is delicious too being Indian myself this is the only takeaway place I can eat indian food from, Service is always excellent Raj Shinda are amazing people always cheerful serving excellent food.

We just love this Plaice, when we lived in Ludlow this was always the best chippy and now when we go home to visit family this is always the 1st stop. The food is always good, great portions and prices. I think it’s the 2nd or 3rd generation of the same family working here and they are always super friendly. Looking forward to my next kebab. Ps. I noticed some comments about having a small wait.. it’s always worth waiting for fresh chips 😉

After a very long wait. My pie had been blitzed by a microwave and was inedible. My wife’s southern fried chicken was over cooked to the point that the skin had to be removed so that she could eat the chicken. When I asked for salt and vinegar, I expected it to be put on the chips not all over the pie. Not a good chip shop at all!

Had fish and chips tonight, the fish was absolutely wonderful. Even after being brought home to eat it stayed really crispy and full of flavour. Chips were good too. Very generous portion size and quite a bit cheaper than other local fish and chip takeaways.

This was epically good food & I'd definitely come back again. Large portions and cooked while we waited.

The best cod and chips I've had in a long time. Super nice. While I was waiting I could see them cooking some tasty-looking naan bread too. Maybe try that next time I'm in Ludlow.

Portion sizes are huge, mini fish and chips for mother excellent, chicken kebab in naan with chips is a two person meal and superb value at £6.

We ordered veggie korma and a chicken saag, basically they were both slop. 6 peas a lump of spud do not make a veggie korma, the chicken saag was better, but not much it was slimy inedible, the chicken was very overcooked. Mushroom rice was okay, keema naan not bad. The poppadums were stale. On the whole rubbish

So much food made up and sitting there greasy. I did not actually eat here. Left after seeing this shop.

Lovely staff and lovely food. We travel quite a bit to come here for a treat! Never fails. It's very clean and yummy. Highly recommend.

Nice chap in the shop, had a natter with him whilst he cooked us some fresh chips as he was half hour away from closing. Later, my wife said her fish was beautiful and I am pleased to say so was my sausage in batter. The chips could ideally have had a little longer cooking as they were a little soggy but, I repeat, he was close to closing. We were astounded how many chips he gave us, we could have fed four or five people!! Would I go again? Definitely!

Wow absolutely amazing had sausage fish and chips chips portions was massive very fairly prices the chips tasted great the cod was out of this world so fresh not all mushy best fish I have had in a long time and I eat a lot of it all over the country the sausage was big tasted great well battered tasting great aswell I will defo be traveling the 40 minutes from home to here to eat here again regularly thanks very much

I have been having a kebab and a chicken tikka every Thursday from The Plaice for nearly 12 years, I have never had a bad one , the naan breads are freshly made in front of you and the tikka is hand spiced and superb. if you are looking for a take away curry don't be put off by the 'chip shop' facade, the curries are superb, easily the best in Ludlow. I could not recommend The Plaice enough

Just had a takeaway supper, totally delicious, freshly cooked food, a very very generous portion too. Served by a very charming and friendly chap. Would definitely recommend this takeaway.

The take away serves fish and chips as well as Indian style dishes.  We had two vegan  curries (vegetable vindaloo and madras) plus rice.  The place included an extra portion of tasty potatoes for free, which was a nice surprise. Portions are large and food is very tasty.  Don't be put off by a joined cuisine status, the owners produce excellent meals.  Highly recommended!

Me and the wife can't believe how good the food was from this shop I had fish and chips the wife had sausage and chips , absolutely wonderful and the young lady who served us was so polite . I recommend this place to everyone , thank you .

Living in near Tenbury wells we have no decent fish & chip so so have to travel. never tried this place before but I must admit we were well impressed. Good portions, freshly cooked and friendly staff. Have a good range of asian food too, so will be trying that too.

Lovely kebabs n large portions too

Nipped in to order Roe and chips after reading the reviews on here and I wasn't disappointed. Had a slight wait because the Roe was cooked fresh so that was no bother at all. There was somewhere to sit whilst waiting. The staff were very friendly and rather polite. Took the food away to eat back indoors and the chips were perfect and the roe was very tasty. I won't know if these are the best chips in Ludlow but on what I ate I think they probably are!!

Had absolutely amazing fish and chips from here a few weeks ago, but tonight have had hands down the worst curry I have ever bought, the whole lot went in the bin, 2 curries (korma and tikka masala) and rice all inedible.

Outstanding, outstanding, outstanding. I kid you not, the best Indian takeaway I have ever had! Been staying at the Ludlow touring park and I will back again for the food alone if nothing else! Thank you.

I had heard mixed reviews about this chippy while I was living in Ludlow. I decided one night to stop by on my way past to get a quick meal. Was very surprised that the food is really nice! Customer service was average, every time I have been in you feel like you have to be in and out the door fast even if it is empty? I will be carrying on going to this chippy.

Good Naan bread and rice , had chicken tikka masala which was a good sized potion with plenty of chicken unfortunately the sauce was quite salty . The onion bhaji were large but didn't taste great. My partner had chicken chilli fry which was also too salty .

The curry (Chicken dopiaza) very very tasty and 1 portion is enough for two. The rest of the place does good chips and fresh fish and huge portions. Good quality, good value good all round, we live within walking distance. Help !!

Easily the best chicken kebabs for 30 miles. Generous meat. Freshesh salad. Wrapped in delicious homemade naan. And free chips! All for a fiver! Perfick!

Saturday night at 7pm. The haddock was to be freshly cooked so had to wait. But hey! That's great. One portion of haddock and chips for two was more than enough. Chips don't travel once wrapped but they were okay. The batter on the fish was crispy and light. And the fish was perfect. Just ask for haddock.

Called for fish and chips to take away.It as also an Indian restaurant.From the outside it appeared a bit scruffy.However the staff were all very friendly.I did not have to wait and my husband and I agreed that they were the best fish and chips we have had in a long time.They were served piping hot and the portion sizes were plenty large enough.

Called in for sausage and chips as passing through . The chips were awful, cooked in old oil which left a nasty after taste , cheap rubber sausage. Gave it all to the dog who even turned his nose up and left it.

We only used these as a Take Away, having the meals delivered to a remote farm 6 miles away. Impressed with the menu, all food was reasonably priced and had a delivery charge of £6.00 on a rainy evening to our remote farm barn. We were a party of 11 and on a Monday night didn't want to drive anywhere. Found their menu, chose various meals from Indian to Fish n Chips, all was good and still hot. Ha to wait 50mins but we were told that when ordering so all OK.

But does not seem to be there or now trading under another name. We did hunt around for quite a while then headed for one of the takeaway franchises of which there are several.
