I visited today with 12 friends, 6 of whom had pre-ordered afternoon tea. We arrived at midday, were the only customers and had all ordered by 12.15. By 1pm there was no sign of food so we spoke to the staff, who told us the chef had walked out, but assured us they were 'kitchen trained' so would prepare our orders. We explained that we had limited time (I had to leave by 1.40pm) and she promised we would all have our food in 10 minutes. 3 meals did arrive by then, though were incomplete, and my greek salad was the last to arrive at 1.27pm. I bolted it down and left immediately to get to my appointment. Food was ok once we got it though we witnessed some questionable hygiene practises eg. as my friends plate was put in front of her, the food slid off the plate onto the table and the waitress picked it up with her fingers and put it back; we also saw the 'chefs' eating whilst preparing our food. What upset us most was that not once did they apologise to us for the delay and refused to supply complimentary drinks. We won't be returning.

A group of us booked for a special birthday - some for afternoon tea - others eating off the menu! What a disaster! After paying up front we waited 1 1/2 house for our food! We were told the chef had walked out so 2 girls did the food but they were not apologetic & had very bad attitudes! We should have asked for refunds of our money & left but did not want to upset our friend whose celebration it was! We will never visit again!

Met a friend here for brunch about 11ish. When we entered it was deserted and no one was there, staff or customers. No one to greet us. So we chose our own table, found out where the menus were. We hung round the till for a while waiting to place orders. When the staff appeared they were efficient but not very friendly. The food came quickly and was average. We had breakfast baguettes and were a bit over priced. Drinks average but my friends glass was filthy. We were not approached again to see if the food was ok or if we needed anything else. Even though we stayed for a long time chatting. I have been here for afternoon tea before which was lovely and the service was better then. The place itself is lovely. Modern decor and airy and clean.

Let me start off by saying, if you don't care about costumer service, this place is for you!! Great place, especially if you have kids, amazing atmosphere, and the food is good too! I went for my birthday last week, August 30th, I had prepaid for the whole thing because it was a last minute booking.I arrived, and the tables at the back were reserved just as the person that booked it for me said they would be. I booked it from 3-5, when I arrived, no one approached us, so I went to the cashier myself and said I was there for the party of 15 for afternoon tea, the girl said happy birthday, and that the host would be out soon, but the food would be out at 3:30... I had never been to afternoon tea before, neither had the 14 guests with me. We were excited as the place was beautiful, and the kids were thrilled with the playground HOWEVER, no host came to speak to us, welcome us, or explain anything, 3:30 came and no food was put out. at about 3:35 I had to go to the lady at the cashier again and ask about the food, she said it would be out soon. When the food was out, beautifully arranged by the way, I still didn't know how it worked, if all of it was out, if the drinks order were taken at the table, again, no one explained anything, at this point I was annoyed, so a friend decided to ask, and we were told the drinks had to be ordered at the cashier. We were there for 2 hours, and the whole time the two ladies were either sitting on their phone texting, or talking amongst each other, every time we asked them something they seemed annoyed to answer. One of the boys in our group went to get ice cream, the lady got up as if she was working for free or forced! She didn't even give the boy his change, his older sister had to go ASK for it.At 4:40 FINALLY the cashier came to our table to TELL US she was going to put the food away, she put it in take away boxes for us and at 4:50 started cleaning our tables, as if to say: Get the hell out.I can understand people having a bad day, but I have nothing to do with that, I work in costumer service myself, and I try to at LEAST smile to guests, the service wasn't even bad, it was unacceptable, it ruined my birthday and RUINED the chance of anyone from my group ever going back. The church I go to is filled with children, and I am sure had it been a good experience, they would have people coming in every week from there. But, I guess the 'Hosts' wouldn't really want that, as they hate working there anyways.WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EVER!

Before attending the football match between Solihull Moors FC and Tranmere Rovers FC I decided to sit a nearby cafe with a brew and found this place. Lovely cup of tea that I an't fault, friendly staff and a lovely outdoor seating area which plenty of kids enjoyed. Speaking of kids it looks like a fun place to bring them with a play area and crazy golf.

No volveremos! ! !

I took my friend for Afternoon Tea as a birthday treat. When we walked in one girl was serving on the till and another one walked straight passed without acknowledging us! When the girl on the till finished serving she turned her attention to us. We were seated and asked if we would like our tea now or with the food. We said with the food and it was all brought together. The food looked lovely and very well presented. My only criticism was that they were hardly any fillings in the sandwiches. It was fairly busy as it was a lovely sunny day and both me and my friend commented on how nice the food looked. I would come again, maybe for lunch with the children

Been here 3 times! what a dip in service! Booked afternoon tea for my mothers Mother's Day present! What a disappointment we brought 2 bottles of wine after an hour and 20 minutes. Then when I finally asked where it was! I was told I'll she will check as it was booked in by someone else ! Then when it arrived no tea! Well when booking afternoon tea for 2! After 29 mins I asked for a pot of tea which was included in the price! 10 min after that I had to ask for a knife between the 2 of us as I couldn't spread the scones! I'm embarrassed as this was meant to be a treat for my mum who ad recently been through some hard times! What a bad experience, last year pigsty bistro was amazing this year pigsty has slowly gone down hill, this time last year the service was amazing so so disappointing. From 5-6:30 we were the only people eating and no one even asked us how our meal was! Or offered us a pot of tea or a knife disgusting! So upset!!!

Went in at lunchtime a week ago as my sister and I had been walking in the area. We had been here previously so knew the kind of things that would be on the menu. However things did not get off to a good start when we ordered 2 teas and rather than being served in china cups and saucers with a teapot, which had been the case when we previously visited, we were given plain white cups and saucers with teabags floating in the cups. Then we looked at the menu and found that jacket potatoes were no longer included - I'm coeliac so this is a lunchtime staple as many places (including this one) do not have gluten free bread. As I did not want to pay £10 for a very basic salad we enquired about the soup but they couldn't confirm that was gluten free. We were however told that jacket potatoes were sold in the playbarn next door so duly went there, and ate our potatoes which were fine but as the restaurant and playbarn are in the same building with a 'staff only" connecting door and presumably share the same kitchen we did wonder why the potatoes could not have been brought through to the restaurant particularly as there was only one table occupied at the time.

Attended a baby shower at the Pigsty today. what a great place for a kids party or baby shower. The adults sat in the Bistro while the kids played outside. The food was pre arranged, afternoon tea, sandwiches, scones and cakes. All was fresh and tasty. The bistro is fresh and clean. Drinks are a bit pricey, but that's because it was proper bottled stuff. Spent a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon there.

Visited today, something that could be so great is ruined by the food quality and staff! Seriously needs sorting, 4 people having afternoon tea having to share one tea pot, having to ask for another tea pot. Below average food, sandwiches made up in the morning (told this by the staff) which meant bread was relatively stale, no alternatives to sandwiches . Display boxes which are a nice feature when looking at what this place offer, missing shelves and looking like they need a new lease of life! Staff were beyond clueless and shocking, cant offer any kind of help, very rude and seem otherwise distacted. The management need to take serious note and sort this place out as local support is imperative.

Went to the playbarn followed by the pigsty for my daughters 1st bday on 28th August and was very impressed. We chose what sandwiches we wanted as we are a fussy bunch and not keen on tuna or egg mayo. We had 3 afternoon teas for 2, 3 kids lunch boxes and a jacket potatoe with cheese and beans. There was loads left over so we were given boxes to take the remaining cakes home. Total cost was £90 for 10 of us including 3 ice creams for the children. Would definitly go again. The outside play area is also a fantastic addition :)

This has to be the worst that I have had (no exaggeration) For £19 for two people to have afternoon tea I don't expect to have to ask for plates, I don't expect to have to chase up my pot of tea (when I am half way through) I don't then expect to have to get my own milk.

From start to finish the service was terrible. Slow, having to get up and remind them for our drinks, while they wasn't looking at all busy. Only us and another table in the restaurant at the time. Food came, again disappointed, over cooked burgers!! Decided to not bother with pudding and go elsewhere. Such a shame as this is a lovely place.

We visited the Pigsty on Saturday 28th May for a meal to celebrate my daughter's 3rd Birthday. There were 6 children/teenagers & 13 adults in our party & everyone said what a fantastic time they had had, from the food to the service (extra special thank you to Chris & Donna who could not have been more accommodating). The food is flavoursome, well presented, served piping hot & the portions are large. I cannot rate this place highly enough for families who want somewhere to relax & for their children to let off lots of steam. When my daughter woke up the next day, the first thing she said was; Can we go back to my party. Needless to say we were there again for the afternoon on Sunday 29th & yet another wonderful afternoon was spent.

Very disappointing visit to the Pigsty restaurant during a quiet period last week. 45 minute wait for food despite there only being one other table of diners in the restaurant which the waitress claimed meant that they were "crazy busy". When food arrived it was poor to average at best. £7.99 for a BLT (photo attached) for poorly cooked bacon. Kids chicken nugget meal-fine but nothing special and all-day breakfast was the same. Just very overpriced and nothing you couldn't have cooked yourself in half the time. Messaged manager to report the incident discretely rather than leaving public negative feedback who failed to respond despite 2 further reminders. It is only natural that a new company will make mistakes but it is how they are dealt with which will speaks volumes about a company. Manager Sara eventually offered a free drink on our next visit. Her husband Paul then chose to publicly comment on the Facebook page "another free drink". These people need to act maturely. They are running a business. Feedback is given to help a company improve and should not be taken personally and responded to immaturely. Due to the husband's immature comment, we shall not be back.
