Had some food and a decent beer, staff helpful and friendly.....

Had a lovely few cold scoops 🍺🍺🍸🍻 with family and friends ,the staff were lovely and welcoming 🙏 and a great atmosphere 😀 10/10

Really bad, I lost my bag and they wouldn’t give it me back after someone had handed it in terrible pub do not recommend rude staff girl with black hair and then one with tattoos on her back.

Nice atmosphere, enjoyed the quiz night with friends but unlikely to return soon as I live 150 miles away:). I would recommend for locals and visitors alike.

I like this pub. The wine is nice and there is an area to sit outside round the back. However, we considered it quite expensive.

Popped in here with a friend after we'd been for a meal. Not impressed, it felt tired and grubby. The barman short changed my friend. We won't be going again!

Jan 21st 2023. Table booked for 15:00, arrived and found the place to be freezing cold (radiators were off), people wearing the outdoor coats, poorly lit, had a funny smell and looked dirty. Looks nothing like is pictures on the website. Very odd as we have had a good experience in previous years, has it changed ownership/management? We left and ate elsewhere.

Was ok to be fair. Served ales not just lager so was decent. Didnt stay long in there o a night out

A good pint and friendly atmosphere

Went to a wake there on 8th December and i asked if it was ok to park in there carpark to which i was told yes. Since got a £100 fine. Well i won't be using the pig again.

There are quite a few pubs in Lichfield centre and I only comment on the best the Pig is another one I really like it, it has a great selection of beer and all. Never been there at night but believe it would be amazing.

The place stinks. The beer is awful. Toilets are dirty. What a dump.

Popped in for a snack to keep us going, (nachos platter to share, three times cooked chips and battered gherkins. Yum!) oh and a pint or two ;-) One thing I noticed that other pubs don't upkeep, were clean tables! Lovely atmosphere and interior

The roast was amazing, the burger a little dry and underwhelming, good selection of beers and a good looking little pub.

Popped in for lunch yesterday and ordered the Sunday roast, overall a nice meal even though roasters a little too salty for me and Yorkshire pudding overdone on top, the chicken was tasty and tender. Staff were friendly, service for food not very quick, place let down (for me) by a certain table of customers that left me feeling uncomfortable. Dog friendly pub and seemed to be well used and liked. Would have maybe rated 3.5 but we don't get that option. Don't think I'll be going back there again, maybe the beer garden in the summer is a better option. Needs more pig photos on walls! 😁

Lovely pint. I Didn't eat there, but the food looks very good and service seemed excellent.

Busy place great friendly staff

Went for drinks after a show at the Hub. Nice atmosphere and good use of outdoor space. Bartender was knowledgeable about mixed drinks not on the menu and was willing to accommodate us.

A good selection of beers from Derby Brewing Co. and an OK beer garden.

We had an excellent "extended family" Sunday lunch as a party of nine. The food and service were of a high standard, and the surroundings pleasant.

Excellent beer and very friendly staff. We have tried many real ale pubs and the Derbyshire IPA here is second to none.

Great bar. Food was really enjoyable. Dirty fries and chicken wings special were very flavourful. I should take a star away because Beavertown is no longer on draft. However, it is redeemed by the fact that shut the box, the best game ever, is available to play, for free, while drinking

Great staff. Food delicious. Its very popular so can be very busy sometimes but staff keep you updated with your order. It has outstanding seating area.

Lots of real ale on tap, very traditional pub. Sat outside where there was plenty of chairs & tables, with live music setting up before we left.

Went in today on the offchance of a Sunday roast. Staff were nice and friendly. The roasts were excellent. Will be recommending to all my friends.

Very unusual urinals. Also the food was good, served promptly and a great selection.

Ordered a hotdog and sausage and mash to be told they didn't have the footlong sausage for the hotdog, so it was swapped with a burger. 40 minutes later, two different burgers arrive. When questioned about the sausage and mash we was then told the kitchen hadn't communicated about there not being any sausages at all and if I would like something else to eat. I opted out as the wait was too long. The woman who served us was really friendly, helpful and apologetic and said she would get the manager over to speak to us. She then came back and said we could have a refund on all of our food which was appreciated, but still no manager. Seems as though she was ushered away by the manager to deal with it herself. We went to the bar to get the refund and the manager (I presume, lady in a pink top) asked the bar staff to serve us. We had no acknowledgement or apology from the manager/s. The poor woman who served us was running around doing the managers job by the looks of it. Get out, girl! There's loads of places who would take on a grafter like you!

The food tasted like deep a fat fryer and made me feel ill afterwards. I thought I might've had food poisoning. I felt sick as a dog. Not eating there again.

Not been in for years and it was a pleasant surprise

Love this place! Beer is great & rotates often, which is nice to see! Gin selection is VAST! Really knowledgeable staff as well (and they are all super nice & friendly!). Finally, the food - they punch above their weight with the food! I was expecting something ‘good’ / something just ok… nope - the food is GREAT!! The sandwiches are awesome, rarebit (now off the menu, it changes a lot which is great to see) was bloomin marvellous and the pork crackling is something else entirely. Order it, don’t share it! It’s perfect with one of the many beers! I want to put a low review so people don’t discover this absolute hidden gem of Lichfield!! But I can’t, it’s just too good!!!

Nice place, but the bar prices will make your eyes water. You can get the same drinks at half the price next door. Shame really.

The pig has a great range of cask ales, well kept and delicious. The filthy fries with chicken and chorizo were awesome too! We will deffo be back.

Our group of retirees was made very welcome last night (Friday) and we all enjoyed the 6 Derby Brewing Co Real Ales, all of which were in excellent condition. So good we came back at lunchtime today. A friendly and clean pub.

Looking at the positive reviews here I wonder if those that wrote them have ever had decent service in a pub before. The beer blackboard was, by the admission of the staff, completely out of date, we had no idea what the beers being served were or how much they cost and the staff hadn't a clue and made no attempt to help and couldn't be less interested if they'd tried. We ordered four pints of beer, to be fair I liked mine, but others didn't, amazingly they charged £19-95 for four pints, yes twenty quid for four pints, we did wonder if they charged for an extra pint we didn't have or thought we had relocated to Mayfair via Star Trek. I tried to get the staff's attention to get a beer mat but they were too deep in conversation with each other to be interested, this place is stupidly expensive and the service woeful. Take my advice and go elsewhere in the locality, less than £8 for 4 pints next door in Wetherspoons or for better quality and service there's the Beerbohm and the Whippet over the road, circa £15 for four pints of great beer. I hope the owners of this place read this review and up their pubs game as if they carry on as they are they'll be shutting the doors soon, the place is a car crash.

Visited The Pig last Saturday, group of 6. The inside was very welcoming and very busy. No issues getting served at all, good range of wines, gin, beers to suit the whole party! The service was brilliant all drinks served with a smile!! Nothing was too much trouble

Do not eat here. The food was mediocre at best and took almost 40 minutes to serve fries and sliders and was not as advertised. The service was good to start but rapidly went downhill when we met the so called manager. Take my advice eat somewhere else.

Service was slow but friendly - we had 2 courses and were there for over 2 hours. The food was OK: brie & bacon burger was good, the beef roast not so great, and desserts also not that good. Nothing to complain about just a bit lacklustre. We couldn't get the app you were supposed to use to work (convoluted process requiring text confirmation but we didn't receive the text message until hours later so couldn't use the app) but staff were able to take order for us.

Excellent food and real ales and has a proper pub atmosphere. Caters well for veggies and vegans and lovely waffles! A great place well worth a visit!

There beer menu is constantly changing so always something new to try. The menu is smaller since reopening, but this has meant that what is available is done really well. The homemade savoury and sweet waffles are a must try.

Nice pub for a Pint.. Nice choice of Ales, and easy order app to download.. no stress about social distancing... Food was good, we had 2 burgers which were delicious..!! 👌👌

Popped in for a pint, ended up having some filthy fries and some fried chicken, really enjoyed them, staff were fantastic, one way system and table service was excellent.

First time here, not very quick service! Waited for ages, and a couple who came after us got served first! Food was ok, not a great first impresion!!

Always have the best time is the Pig! Sammi and Ali are beyond accommodating and have been awesome with keeping everyone safe through the opening of lockdown. Always have the biggest smile on their face, work really hard and a fab offering of gins and tonics!

Amazing meal tonight. We were completely blown away by the service and the safety measures put in place with all the hand sanitizer and seeing staff regularly sanitizer their hands too. Food was soooo good and they are really dog friendly which is such a bonus for me 😁

I buy the Good Beer Guide to help me find pubs like this. The Pig isn't in it but I preferred it to 3 of the 5 pubs in Lichfield that are.

Not a regular customer, looks like newly renovated.Its nice generally, don't know much about the menu haven't had anything to eat there. Men's toilet is unusual,clean nice a bit small.Only had one pint, would try it again.

Had fish and chips totally unedible ! Almost black ,been overcooked and very greasy ! Small fish no lemon either . Complained and had a refund . Will never go back ,one to avoid !.

Love this pub. Great beer selection and the staff are top draw.
