We went in on a Saturday morning and ordered drinks and a tea cake. The drinks took over 20 minutes but at 45 minutes we gave up on the teacakes and left (insisting they remove them from the bill) Disappointingly slow service and no apology. Won't be going back.

We don't live in Lichfield and it was the first time we had visited here for many years. The building the Tudor of Lichfield is set in, Lichfield House, was built in 1510 and has many original features. There is a wide choice of food and drink. The three of us all had different main courses and desserts and all the food was excellent, as was the service. I personally can highly recommend the Steak and Ale pie. We will certainly visit here again, the next time we are in Lichfield.

This is a quiet and cozy pub my partner and I visited on Sunday for breakfast, I love the dedication they have put into preserving the old Tudor theming instead of modernizing it as it really is a show of love to the past. The service here is lovely as they were patient with my questions about dishes and were understanding when I was a little paranoid about a dish containing dairy (it did not - I am just a very anxious person) I really appreciated how hospitable they were to not only myself but also to the other guests in the restaurant as they were patient with every question and enquiry thrown their way. The food was tasty, not amazing on my side but it was nice -- it was just what was needed before heading out, my partner really enjoyed the bacon and french toast with Maple Syrup. This place is somewhere you must go at least once if you'd like a throwback to the past of England as it really feels cozily preserved in time.

We booked for lunch and had been recommended to visit this family run business. The place was busy and had an air of relaxation and felt homely. We were attended by Guy , head waiter who was thoughtful, tentative to our questions and took our drinks and food orders. He offered us leaflets of the history of the place which we found fascinating. When our food arrived it fabulous, I had lasagna along with tea, and was to die for. Desserts to follow and a great selection to choose from. The service was excellent and we felt well looked after, made the experience feel special. Family businesses of this type with such lovely staff and owners are rare. We would highly recommend the staff, atmosphere and drinks/ food. Beautiful city and a gem of a place to relax and eat. We will be returning very soon!!!

I visited the Tudor cafe on Friday 7th June with 2 others. We were horrified to see the beautiful chocolate counter replaced by a bar which had more resemblance to a coffin. Completely out of place in a listed building of such beauty. I understand that businesses need to move on and think of new and innovative ways to encourage new business but this lacks style and is completely out of place. So disappointing, after living in Lichfield all my life and loving this building.

I have just enjoyed a wonderful Afternoon Tea at The Tudor with a group of 18 friends. We used a private room upstairs which was just perfect for our group. We had a choice of tea or coffee, Prosecco, finger sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, plus a variety of very moreish small cakes. The scones were delicious! I understand that they are freshly baked at the Tudor following "Grandmother's" recipe. It was so nice to have table service. I would highly recommend The Tudor.

Would of given 5 stars if I had a window seat but unfortunately either occupied or smaller table. Ordered club sandwich , all day breakfast and kids burger meal as pictured. It’s a 500 year old building so price is reflected in that . Served very quickly , maybe not as busy as normal due to people outside getting ready for Lichfield Barrow. Food is good quality.

We ordered the afternoon tea. For the price, it was very reasonable in quantity and quality. The main issue seemed to be the server we had as he was rushed and not greatly attentive. He gave us the menus and when i said we are having the afternoon tea, he said you still have to choose your sandwiches. When i read the blurb about the tea, it says something along the lines of "ask your server for the types of sandwiches ". When i pointed this out, he had no idea what the options were and had to ask another server for advice. A few small things were that we had to ask for more sugar and there is only one small plate each so the option is to ask for more plates or wipe it clean after the sandwiches and horseradish so you can enjoy the cakes. The strangest thing was that the same server said "I assume you want white bread." Not sure why that was the assumption, unless the sandwiches had aleady been made. But when i asked "What are the other choices?", he responded with "OK!" and then scarpered. Luckily we didn't mind white bread but it left us a little baffled. I would suggest a little bit more attention to detail and a bit more training for less experienced staff. Overall, food was reasonable, place is lovely, price was good for what we got, service lacking.

Fantastic place! Highly recommend and will 100% be visiting again. We visited the Tudor on a complete whim today when walking past. The building is magnificent both inside and out, we felt like we were visiting a national trust heritage building. The food was absolutely delicious and fairly priced too, I had the steak and ale pie which I must say is one of the best pies I’ve had. My wife went with the cottage pie which she was very satisfied with. The Childrens menu shocked us the most, we have a young 3 year old and finding her something she will eat in a restaurant is challenging, we ordered her a burger which we were expecting to be just a standard cheap childrens burger. When our daughter offered us some to try we were both shocked with how good it tasted! My daughter ate the whole thing, which is something she’s never done with eating out. Lovely staff, beautiful location inside and out, beautiful good quality food! We look forward to visiting again. Thank you!

The food is of a high standard for a Cafeteria it is more the standard of a quality restaurant, the atmosphere is unique as is the waiting service...very prompt and polite always, all this makes for a unique experience & makes you think of when you could next fit in a visit, the only thing l would like to see hopefully in the near future is for the beautiful home made pies to be a **Full Pastry Pie with Sides & a Bottom** rather than a crock pot with a pastry Lid...!! It puts a potentially award winning 🏆 Pie into a casserole category sadly 😔 other than that my congregations to the Chef... 😋😊

Disappointed. Completely. Such a beautiful building and such a terrible food. Food is just terrible: was there today with a family and wanted to enjoy sunday roast. Roast has nothing to do with roast, instead we received some slices of boiled meat rather than slowly cooked for hours. Something which they called gravy was far away from real gravy. Have a look at picture and you will see that it is just mixture of something with flour i think, but the taste is just like eating glue. Besides i was shocked to see that the waiters and the cook are actually bringing and taking the yorkshire puddings by hand! No gloves! They have a storage room which is outside of the restaurant and every time they needed the pudding they went there and took it with bare hands. Not in containers, not trays, but just bare hands. After touching the door handles! We asked for the table of three and were already given the table and sat at the table when another waiter came and said that the table is reserved. But there was no sign on it or anything. So one waiter did not not know what the other was doing. So we were asked to change the table. I also ordered a cream tea and then in the window again saw how they took my scone by bare hands from their storage room! Look at the pic of scone. Looks that it has been pressed. It happens when you only heat them in the microwave and it has lots of moisture inside. No words. It as a terrible lunch and waste of money. A shame, cause the building itself is very authentic and nice

Worst coffee ever. Undrinkable. Coffee out of a machine, frothy scum on the top and to top it all more expensive than a 'proper' coffee. Will not be returning. I would just say following the response from the cafe, that I did mention to the waitress that the coffee didn't look very appealing with a frothy scum on the top. When I went to pay I said to the cashier that the coffee was undrinkable and I'd had to leave it. The cashier made no comment, took my money and then confirmed the coffee did indeed come from a machine.

The service was incredibly slow, just rediculas, it took 3 attempts to get the wine and 3 attempts to get the tonic water, it was a palarva. I needed the loo, omg another palarva, 3 steps , then through a room, then 1 step, then turn to the right, then 3 steps then turn left , then it looked like another 10 steps. I have difficulty breathing and would not even attempt that. I felt so sorry for the young girl serving, she should have been chaperoned . Someone by her side. 2 , and kept pecking round the door and thec2 watched on. So we ordered 1 wine and tonic water, 1 spring water and a pot of tea, this took 25 minute, with 2 trips re the wine, the tonic took 2 people with 3 trips with 2 lots of tonic. We had 2 x burger and chips, the salad, was well I would not have given a rabbit if I had one. What should have happened and would have not only reassured the trainee, but showed the customer great service, was introduce the trainee, tell the customer do you mind , it may take slightly longer. No probs !! Then let the trainee take the order. And the trainer check, if correct, praise the trainee, thank the customer for helping in the training, go away and get the drinks, then food. No the trainers if you could call them that, were to busy skiving, and let that poor girl try and sort it. They should be shot for that horrendous support. That girl was so apologetic. And it was there lazy fault. What a farce. Julie Walters in Acorns antiques would have been faster and more entertaining. How very sad. I just kept saying your doing great my darlin. I have worked in retail for 50 years , held a management position for 30 plus years, been a customer service manageress. And I have never felt so sorry for anyone being treated so poorly. Ms lazy and Ms Lazy, have not got a clue. How sad. Yet the cafe itself has character, but I have to say the best entertainment was a lady ordering toasted tea cake, she waited 40 minutes called the waitress and asked if they had forgotten her. When the tea eventually arrived they had buttered it, the customer complained saying you put the bitter on the side in a dish. Well the trained waitress came over and said she had worked there years and always buttered the tea cake. Omg just bring extra butter out or redo it, and appologise, don't argue. Is it really worth.Just very sad really all round

Came last night for my 65th birthday with my family we arrived on time that we booked for 6.30 we didn't get seated till 6.55. We had prebooked our meals and was still waiting for our food at 7.30 most of the food was lovely my daughter had fries with hers as did my grandson and the majority of them tasted terrible I tried one and it left a nasty tangy taste we told the lady who served us she spoke to chef who told us there was nothing wrong with them she just laughed it of in front of us we spent a lot of money in there pub and restaurant and I thought we were treated like we were lying about how they tasted. had a lovely time other than that never had a problem before and we have been several times for special birthdays.

Good experience however, my meal was a little on the cool side although my husbands was hot.. Food quality was good for a Sunday roast .. Shame about service at tables going and having to use an app ... Coffee machine needs looking at as coffee could be better and alot of the time is on the blink ..

Best chip shop in Lichfield without a doubt. And the pizzas they are just amazing, all fresh produce and made how you want it. They are so friendly and welcoming. I cannot say enough how good the food is from these guys!

First time here and even though it was fireworks night and the place was very busy, we didn't wait long for our food, which was very nice and good value for money, we were served quickly at the bar and the staff were very attentive. Highly recommended.
