What an absolutely fantastic evening We shared a table of 8 with people we’d never met before and we all agreed the food was the best we’d ever had The beef was divine and the seafood boil was out of this world

Poor evening. Nice venue and waitresses but at £79 per person the food was very below par. 1.5 mini canapés each were fine, salmon/trout starter light but fairly tasteless and the seafood boil main was just awful. Overflowing bowl of warm, pretty tasteless and messed about seafood. All unattractive and just didn’t taste very nice. I was extremely disappointed. My husband had the beef and said it was “just ok”

Spectacular as ALWAYS! Another fantastic tasting menu, Nigel always delivers. Beautifully presented food, flavours put together perfectly (this man knows what he’s doing), great attentive staff and a cosy, cool venue. Once again thank you for having us! We had a fabulous evening last night dining at the Pickled Crab Supper Club. It was my birthday so I got to choose how to spend the evening and I was not disappointed! The menu was divine, everything was perfectly prepared, cooked and served. The venue at #75 Leamington was just the ticket. It has been a long time since we have enjoyed a meal out like this, we are so often disappointed. Thank you, Nigel, and all your team for making my birthday a night to remember. We look forward to our next experience!

Went in last Weds for a 3 course dinner with my friend. Wow what can I say? For only £25 each we got a fresh homemade loaf, squid in chilli and garlic, fresh salmon and tuna tacos, followed by beautifully cooked local Duck Breast. I couldn't manage a pudding but Nigel insisted and I wolfed the chocolate dessert down. Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. Nigel chose the menu, and it was perfect! Highly recommend. I have already booked to return

Having had dinner here previously imagine my joy when I learnt they now do breakfast ! Same principle - great ingredients cooked simply. Great presentation and lovely staff.

Have to say for me this is the best place to eat in Warwick. I took my wife to try the tasting menu we had heard a lot about and we were not disappointed. The food was tasty and fresh with plenty of courses and lots of variety which combined well dish after dish. Definitely would recommend and will be returning.

Incredible seasonal tasting menu in the centre of Warwick. The level skill, flavour and produce made it well worth the money. You can taste the passion behind the dishes. Be sure to make a visit if you’re looking to try some delicious new food!

Location a stone throw to Warwick Castle. One of the best or the best Seafood restaurant I ever been. All seasoned very well and cooked to perfection. Staffs are very friendly and really helpful in guiding on the menu. Good value for money 💯 recommendation.

First class food, generous portions and excellent quality. I usually go for take away but I have decided to go with a friend and eat in. Menu changes often, this is a sign of fresh ingredients and good cooking skills!

The food is exceptional!! The wait for the food and drinks wasn't too long at all and the waitress was friendly and very easy going. I and my table all had the cod and chips with mushy peas. The chips were perfectly cooked. The cod was a good size and the batter was golden, light and crispy. This place also has a bar that serves beers and cocktails and they also play music. To top it off, the selection of seafood on offer is fantastic! Octopus, crab, oyster, pan fried prawns, seabass, Gin and Tonic Salmon, salmon arancini balls. So much choice. As well as battered chicken. The only issue that I had was that despite the fact that the tables look great for the venue, they don't provide any leg room as there are planks of wood on large wooden boxes. So I felt I had to twist my back and lean over the food, which was uncomfortable on my lower back. In the end, I ended up sitting at the corner of the table, with my legs either side of the box. I cleared my plate and would definitely come back again for more!! One of the very best fish and chip shops I have been to. Definitely in my top 3!!!!

Had a takeout, I liked the interesting menu offers a change from the norm, tacos were delicious but fried chicken was losing it's coating, generous portions, would try again.

Really good sea food, I would say one of the best in the midlands. The fish display was really fresh so they are getting fish and selling on the same day. We sat down and had lobster+chips, calamari Thai style and octopus. I thought it was all great, my favourite was definitely the calamari. My girlfriend's only grumble was that she had chunky chips and wanted fries instead. I was really surprised to see him doing all the cooking and waiting but he did a great job. It was great food and really friendly. I can see some people grumbling about the price but it is fresh seafood in Warwick. That is not easy to do. I will try the rest of the menu next time we go back to Warwick :)

Tried the fish & chips here one eve. Lots of nice seafood to try (fish & chips doesn't do it justice tbh!)... but they were absolutely fabulous nonetheless.

Ordered 2 large fish and chips to pick up at 6-00 on the 23rd December 2020.Turned up in the cold and pouring rain to a closed shop !!!What a shame, I was looking forward to a nice fish and chips.Maybe a text or phone call to say there was a problem with completing our order might have been a good customer relations move ?

We were given a three course + Prosecco voucher from Groupon as a Christmas present. The food was really tasty and cooked well, thoroughly enjoyed the main meal of white fish with winter veg. However, I would not rate the experience as a whole very highly. Although the food was delicious it was all very cheap and not worth the money, not very filling. Calamari start, small white fish + veg main, small fruit compote pudding. No choice on food as it’s what is fresh for the day however reading other reviews it seems to be the same dish. I could be wrong on that though. Would be great to be told what you are eating when it comes out or maybe have a board up with “today’s specials”. Great welcome on entry from server, but smell of carpet as soon as you enter. Prosecco was flat. Desperate need of new carpet and especially some TLC in the toilets which were quite dyer and freezing, stains on the wall with markings where dispensers used to be, cheap Chef’s Larder hand soap, a couple of napkins at the bottom of the basket to dry your hands on. Stereophonic CD on repeat. The Sauvignon Blanc we were recommended to buy at £27 is a £6.50 bottle of Most Wanted brand wine. It seems most tables there was a problem with the vouchers. We booked the table through Groupon and brought it with us, but I think you need to email that voucher in advance directly to Nigel, as we and other tables kept hearing “Nigel doesn’t seem to have received your voucher yet”. Well you haven’t actually asked for it yet.The food is certainly not letting the restaurant down, however it’s over priced for a cheap return.

I bought my mother a voucher for Christmas and the only date we could go was Valentine's weekend - although we were not a "traditional couple" we had a lovely time.The restaurant does not offer a choice of food, choosing to use daily delivered fresh food.Everything was delicious (although parmesan risotto would have benefited from an extra sprinkling of fresh parmesan- but that is being really picky!).The restaurant did check whether there was anything we didn't/couldn't eat.We were given the choice of finding out what we were eating or have a surprise- which is what we did.Highlights were the crab salad with caviar dressing, the lamb and the pannacotta with cherries.Would we come back? Yes, probably at a different time of year so we get different seasonal food.

Booked this on Group On as a seafood fan and made mistake of only being able to book a 3 course tasting menu. On arrival there was no menu or food choice whatsoever and the menu was just for drinks and a free Proseco. Service was good and food was tasty but we had huge food envy with the other guests having towers of gorgeous-looking crab as part of their 7 course menus. It was a great pity that 2 of our courses were cheap white fish - 1 in batter and the other a curry and a small dessert. Left feeling hungry and went to the new McDonalds at Warwick Tesco for apple pie and coffee! The ambience was very disappointing with bizarre and loud 50s and 60s music and the overall look and feel of the place was confused as the restaurant didn't know what it was! Think we were overpromised on the offer as it wasn't the deal it should have been.

We visited on a Tuesday evening. Wow what a fantastic experience. Some of the best food we have ever tasted. Will definatly be returning to try the 9 course menu.

I had wanted to try this place as I enjoy fish meals. I arrived and the place was freezing three couples was already sitting two still with coats on! The welcome was even colder by the waitress. We had ordered set menu and the drinks took 20 mins and starter just under an hour. The starter was good, but waiting time and cold, does dulls the atmosphere. I communicate to the chef, who stated this was not an unreasonable time to wait! He then stated he had checked the camera's in the restaurant. Now that is really big brother and this was a business discussion. Next time check your not on camera.

Booked for wifes 60th Birthday, we went for the 7 course tasting menu as we wanted something a little different from our norm. All the food was excellent, Nigel sure knows his trade well and reasonably priced to. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were great made us feel as if we had known them for years. We will definitely be back again next time we are in the area, If you are looking for something different we would highly recomend you give this ago.

Purchased a groupon offer for The Pickled Crab as I was in the area and wanted to support a local business rather than the plethora of corporate alternatives. Regrettably I wish I hadn't bothered. The entire experience is very odd indeed. The restaurant was empty and the service was so poor I had to write a review. No one explained that the three course meal with a glass of prosecco being offered was effectively a tasting menu. No choice of food from a set menu...what they have is what you get...let me make this clear, this is never explained to you before purchase or even once you enter the restaurant. No advice was given about potential allergies (which I found particularly astounding). You're given a drinks menu (neither of the drinks we wanted were available so we ended up with two tap waters that were never replenished) and the waitress disappeared for a while then reappeared some time later and plonked two calamaris in front of us both. Again....little consideration of potential allergies but at least we now had some idea of how the night would proceed. To be fair the food was very good....but at full price I would have had a different opinion. This is NOT fine dining as the Groupon sells itself as...it is rustic, rough around the edges and tasty....but a far cry from fine dining. Hardly saw the waitress all evening and genuinely felt like she just wanted us out asap so she could get off home (worst service I've experienced in a 'fine dining' establishment ever). Never saw the glasses of prosecco either. I did let Nigel, the chef and owner, know about our experience at the end of the meal as he was switching the music off, turning off lights and cashing up...largely because we didn't know if we had finished our meal or not as we sat there in uncomfortable silence waiting for a bill or receipt, maybe our missing prosecco or whatever to make it clear that the meal had come to an end. Although he was apologetic a lot of my concerns were brushed off with 'this doesn't usually happen' etc. He did suggest that we come back so he can show how they really function...but of course that would be at our own expense. I'm really sad about tonight and I'd like to recommend the place as the food was good but the experience is so awful I just can't be responsible for someone else having to go through it.

We visited using a groupon offer for a tasting menu, The food was superb, the chef is obviously very talented, the flavours and presentation were fantastic, It was very quiet but to be fair it was midweek, I hope it is busier and has a bit more atmosphere at the weekend as this restaurant deserves to be successful, just everyone go and see how wonderful the good is.

My partner is a chef and we love trying new places so I decided to treat him and look this restaurant. I booked through groupon.. I wasn't expecting alot due to it being so cheap. .. 7 courses for 2 including prosecco for £44. The meal was lovely... drinks weren't over priced either. Will be back.

We had the 5 course menu (£35 a head), delicious dishes, all with a local ale. It was a Tuesday night and there were tables available Talking with the chef/owner Nigel he said they’re booked 3 weekends ahead and now ask for £10 a reservation. We highly recommend this restaurant, the service is good, Nigel cares about the food he prepares, everything is fresh and flavourful. There’s a car park behind the restaurant.

A lovely little surprise booked by my wife. The pickled crab was a lovely experience and it was nice to try some different interpretations of food. We had the 7 course menu which was very surprising, my personal favourite was either the crab tacos we started with or the arancini balls we had a lil later on, my wifes personal favourite was definitely the scallops and apple. Went to The Pickled Crab on Monday (30/09/2019). Weather was awful but the welcome we received was very warm. We have dined here before and really enjoyed the food. I haven't written a review for here previously, but felt compelled to do so this time.The food was top class (the chef knows his seafood, and how to prepare and present it at it's best). I would say a little gem and if you haven't been before, place it on your bucket list. A must!

Dropped in for Sunday lunch and had a truly excellent starter of crispy fried plaice with coriander, soy and lime dressing. So often this kind of thing can be heavy and greasy with overcooked fish and thick batter, but this was light, delicate, tasty, crispy and cooked to perfection and a quite generous portion too.

Food... Wow absolutely delicious, Best seafood I've ever had, all courses cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend the soy salmon with cuttlefish ink cous cous.

Booked a table to celebrate birthday and wedding anniversary. Chose the five course menu. We ordered drinks and the white wine was warm. The first course arrived and it was ok, followed by the second course some 30 minutes later! We then waited another hour for the third course, by which time we had lost our appetite! We paid and left and we will never return. No apologies for slow service, no excuses for the poor service given either.

My gf and I had the 7 course menu, it was very high quality food with some interesting dishes and lovely service. The highlight for me was the crab tacos, I could've eaten them all night! The dessert was a little sweet for me but I've never been much of a pudding person. Highly recommend and I will definitely return!!

Groupon deal 7 course menu and still food was cooked to perfection in evey course and one of the most tasty meals. This restaurant is, as many have already mentioned, a hidden gem in Warwick. Do give this experience a chance and find yourself pleasantly surprised.

Visited with friends in august using groupon vouchers for the 7 course taster menu. We arrived early but were seated straight away, it was quiet and our server let us choose our seats. The decor inside was modern and fitting for the type of restaurant.

Went there with my boyfriend, sis and 5y nephew for 7 course tasting menu. My nephew was over the moon, everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. We really enjoyed it and would definitely go there again. Thank you Chef!

Amazing taster menu in the heart of historic Warwick. Had the most amazing fish, my tastebuds are still tingling. Only scored 5 because the ratings don’t go any higher... really is the best on offer in Warwick!

We had the Groupon 6 course tasting menu. The food was fantastic- the main course of curried fish was delicious. The presentation of the food was great as well. The restaurant decor does not match the exquisite food but the service made up for it. I would recommend this for all food lovers of fish

The Pickled Crab caught my eye for a double birthday celebration . I was hoping that it was worth travelling a little further than normal for something a little different for my son and daughters joint birthday (no they aren’t twins just born on the same day 3 years apart!). We were not disappointed!

We got the Groupon deal for the 7 course tasting menu. When we arrived the venue was a bit odd. It didn't really have the vibe. The decor needs sorting. I think the lady at front of house could improve her welcoming skills slightly - although we had a bit of a chat with her at the end and she warmed to us. 3 courses were served all in one go - not sure what I think about that as it takes away the fun of waiting for the next course. BUT equally it wasn't bad and all 3 dishes were lovely - crab tacos, mackerel and calamari. The next dish was presented beautifully - the plaice, The dish following was haddock and root veg. This was lovely too. The dessert was a let down - we were not impressed with this. The 7th course was a coffee. This is not a course!!!!! They didn't even have the coffee machine working so a peppermint tea is just not a course in my eyes. So that was a let down too. The restaurant only had Groupon diners so I think if certain things improve people would come back. Overall, an enjoyable evening with some tasty food! The chef definitely can cook!

Wow, what an amazing Meal we had here for my dads birthday. We opted for the five course taster menu, the food was so good and cooked to perfection. The staff at this restaurant can’t do enough for you. Nothing was to much trouble. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We have booked to go again in a few weeks.

We recently ate at The Pickled Crab for a mid-week birthday meal and it will be the first of many times we visit. We had the 5 course menu and each course was superb! The additional crab taco we were served was my favourite and worth the visit just to try. We've eaten is Michelin rated restaurants before and the food here was as good as that.

What to say you want the best go to the best. Food timing precision seasonality and some fab cocktails lush.

We had dinner here, using one of the many Groupon specials (65% off) that no doubt have been purchased for this restaurant. Firstly, the value for money via a groupon voucher was fair and we had been recommended to go by a friend.

What a lovely evening at the Pickled Crab for the Lobster & Burger night! Great atmosphere, the restaurant full of smiley/full faces which is nice, the food was absolutely fantastic and the service, as usual was spot on. Visited recently whilst in the area for the groupon seven course taster menu which I found a little bland. The menu was all sea food based which I have to say I am not a fan of. The first two courses were tasty enough, but after that the rest was just tasteless pieces of battered fish which by the end I was glad to see the back of. The decor of the restaurant was not to my taste but I dont go for the surroundings merely the quality of the food. Would we go again no

We visited here for the first time recently on a discounted voucher. For me the purpose of these vouchers is to get customers in so that they come back, see how good the place is and come back again next time paying full price. With this in mind, I felt the service was a little lacklustre, I understand they will have had hundreds if not thousands of these vouchers redeemed but still the service should be so that you want the repeat custom! The feel of the restaurant's decor to be a little dated and mismatched. Food was OK, if not a little salty. Overall food & service just average for me unfortunately.

Very disappointed by a lack luster menu of battered tasteless squid and bland fish fillets. No shell fish or high quality tasty fish such as red mullet cooked lightly with some fresh veg. The resturant is dated and lacked atmospher. I would like to say the service was good, which was a saving grace for the evening.

Very friendly atmosphere and staff were amazing. Very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Can recommend the soy mackerel with mushrooms to start along with the beetroot snd raisin bread, accompanied with duck crackling butter, I was in heaven! That was until the roast beef artived. Cooked to perfection along with lovely roasties, veg and a fab Yorkshire pudding. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better out comes the knickerbocker glory! A traditional pudding made just like I used to have as a little girl. Will definitely be returning again soon

Visited here with a Groupon for a 7 course taster menu and a glass of prosecco. The food was fish and seafood themed featuring calamari, prawns, sea bream, plaice and haddock. This was served with cheese arancini, black pudding, truffle mash, beetroot sauce and leek sauce. Service was good, wine reasonably priced and all the main elements freshly cooked.

Portion size was potentially a little large for a tasting menu. some of the courses almost felt like full size mains. We were really looking forward to this having read all the good reviews The restaurant itself is what one might term as rustic, there were two girls in the restaurant doing a stirling job, seeing people to their table, laying up the tables pouring the drinks , taking the orders, serving the starters and puddings, replenishing the vegetables and taking the money. The starters were just Ok and at £6 I felt over priced, I had mushroom soup which consisted of a watery cream with a few mushrooms and three croutons and my friend had the mini fish which he said was quite tasty. The carvery was something else, three meats chicken beef and pork, the roast potatoes looked burnt as did the yorkshire pudding, there was a dish of beetroot and three vegetables sweetcorn, overcooked peas and carrots there was definitely no cauliflower cheese as other people have commented on. We both thought the vegetable selection was awful and the gravy left much to be desired. Apparently the carvery is £12 but obviously our Groupon was £10 and I think it is still overpriced at that. Just being honest I certainly can not recommend

My fiance and I went here this evening for a 7 course taster menu. It was absolutely fantastic! I like good food from all parts of the world but the food at The Pickled Crab was something else. Each course was perfectly balanced with flavours that you don't often get to experience but are so beautiful. The texture, seasoning and presentation were all carefully put together, they were deliberate and fabulous. We will definitely go back again as this is the best food I have ever had. The prices are also great and make this wonderful experience excellent value.

Went to the Pickled Crab with my wife for a nice Friday dinner for two on the 7 course taste menu - we dined here two years ago and it was great to see how Nigel has developed the restaurant in decor and it was great to hear of the different concepts that have been in motion.
