Fantastic place for lunch. Food was excellent and had a surprisingly nice vibe with lovely views. Highly recommended.

We had 18 family and friends join us after our civil ceremony for dinner n drinks on a BEAUTIFULL summers afternoon. Food drinks and special service from Eva made our special day so memorable THANK U PETERBOAT 5 star service Xx

Generally nice location and nice setting however a recent visit was somewhat spoiled towards the end of the night by the table next to us playing loud music from their phones in a very anti-social manner so loud my friend and I could not hear each other. Sadly the staff did nothing to stop this at all. I even wrote to the management but failed to get a reply. Good job there are other pubs to go to in.

Chef’s Platter at The Peterboat on the sea front in Leigh-on-Sea. Roast consisted of 28 day aged english sirloin of beef, leg of welsh lamb, suffolk pork loin, sage & onion pork stuffing with all the trimmings (roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding, roasted root vegetables, seasonal vegetables, cauliflower cheese & rich gravy). At £24.95 it’s on the pricy side but it’s a lot of food and tasted great. Finished off with my absolute favourite dessert, Profiteroles with chocolate sauce, these were £6.95. You get 4 for that price and were nice and fresh, chocolate wasn’t overpowering either, it had a good balance with the cream. Would return again to try their fish & chips.

Really lovely restaurant, great service, good prices, staff wonderful. My only gripe was we were in the conservatory on a very hot day and there were no blinds our side and was extremely hot and uncomfortable. There were blinds the other side. Couldn't feel the air con, hence the 4 stars.

Great place . Had Oysters with a view . The chowder looked awesome and along with fish and chips was the most popular choice . The tide was out but it is a working harbour so lots to see as well

Very poor menu! What as happened ? As a local been coming to the Peter boat for many years ! The starter menu is limited no lovely calamari , no tempura prawns NOW what as happened ? Just preheated over spiced chicken wings all 3 of them for £8.95 dried up whitebait , frozen prawns in a water 💦 sea food sauce was embarrassing 😳 as I told my friends visiting that the fish is good here ! No fresh skate with capers ! Main menu very disappointing! I suggest that you bring back fresh prawns calamari which was extremely popular! And fresh fish after all that’s what you would expect as a fishing 🎣 town !

Nice place but take the pee, charging west London prices for terrible service and portions, kept being asked by a waitress/ supervisor called Camille, “are you ready to order ?” (4-5 times )other supervisor called Amanda, was spot on.

Great food and amazing location. Gets very busy in the weekends so bookings are a must.

Unfortunately a problem with the fish (in fish n chips) put a dampers on lunch. We understand these things happen so will definitely return for another try.

Really disappointed on my recent visit here. The food isn’t cheap and the quality was so poor. We ordered garlic bread it was more like herb butter on bread absolutely no garlic and some cheesy chips which had been microwaved so we’re totally dry. Yes it was busy and our food arrived super quick, but I would much rather have waited and had quality over speed. The food was more like a weatherspoons or maybe worse but 4 times the price. Not sure I’ll go back as they obviously have dropped the ball in their standards!!

Lovely pub on the estuary serving really tasty gastro pub food with all the classics on the menu. The fish n chips were perfectly good, fluffy crispy chips and a delicious succulent piece of cod. She had the burger and chips and said it was delicious.

Visited on Monday for a late lunch with friends and the food was excellent. Some of the nicest Fish & chips I have ever had, good portion sizes and service. Not the cheapest but great quality & good service.

Incredible service, the waitress was so attentive and friendly. I ordered the seafood chowder which is served in a cob and was so delicious. Amazing place to eat.

First visit with my friend who lives locally. Lovely position close to the estuary. Waitress Amelie was excellent. My food was very good however the Prawn Cocktail starter my friend had was very poor...good selection of wines. Will be back. Cheers RBS

Called in for a pint of Guinness whilst out for a walk in Leigh this evening. Very good pub. Will call in again when next visiting.

This is a very popular pub set in Old Leigh on Sea. It gets very busy outside in summer & does have a lot of outdoor seating. Due to our rubbish summer however the outside seating area was empty. The pub now has 2 conservatories for dining. One negative is that the menu is very fish orientated. As someone who can't eat fish this really narrowed my options. Another bug bear is it doesn't state on the menu there is a service charge and you won't know this until you get the bill. If you are in a big party and people pay then dash off not realising there is a charge if means you are left pay the charge for the people whose left. My husband had cod & chips which was £18.95 + 10% SC. It was a very large portion of cod and cooked well. I had linguine & there was no mention of pesto (which I hate) but it was obvious there was pesto in the sauce. The waitress did check initially about allergies which I thought was good. There is a good selection of drinks available. The bar & main restaurant was full. I did find it odd the waitresses wear very short shorts or skirts, the attire didn't seem to match the venue. Their clothing was more fitting to somwhere like TGIs. The staff were all pleasant and the toilets were modern and clean. There was also a disabled toilet. The bar appears to be dog friendly.

Food was lush the prawn and chorizo pasta and lemon posset was amazing and the view was to die for. staff really helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back.

We came to the Peterboat for my 30th birthday. We reserved in advance and was quick and easy. The service we received was superb by our waitress, we had a couple of hick ups with guest arriving on time but she helped make solutions to ensure we all received the best of services. We were a large party and she kept calm and professional at all times. I couldn’t rate our experience enough. We were also able to reserve some outside last minute to move the party outside. Thank you for making my birthday one to remember. Thanks Alex

We had lunch from the Sunday menu. We chose the only two vegan options on the menu, they were tasty but being only 2 a bit limited. Venue is nice but was very busy and loud ! Service was good with attentive service staff, quick to bring food and drinks. Would recommend but booking essential.

The staff is amazing, the atmosphere is lovely, and the service is top-notch.

Very busy when we went, food okay nothing to scream home about, service was quick despite the crowds. Staff run off their feet covering so many customers.

Such a great place for food and drinks in the beautiful seaside town of Leigh. We headed down for a late dinner with views over the estuary. Food was great, drinks tip top and a wonderful place to be. Staff super helpful, so shout out to them.

Visited on a sunny Saturday evening for drinks. Sat outside enjoying the sea view. Plenty of tables and despite it being busy the service was helpful and quick. The pub had a really nice ambience. We didn't eat but the food looked very good and well presented.

Fantastic venue to enjoy evening cocktails. I enjoyed my fish and chips. Frankly, it was by far the best fish in batter I have had. Crisp and not soaked in oil. The skate could have less batter. Definitely recommend.

Was at full capacity when we visited as part of a large crowd. The service was faultless. Looking forward to returning

Nice place to Eat and Drink Good menu especially if you like seafood. Grace was our Waitress and done a great job. Only issue I have is when ordering drink at the bar the machines are looking to charge you a service charge so be careful.

I had the best fish and chips of my life here only had to wait 5 minutes (if that!), and at a very reasonable price too. The batter was fluffy, crispy, and the fish fresh, the chips were equally crispy yet fluffy on the inside. Service was excellent - thanks Marissa. We were lucky to get a walk in and sit at the patio, which is probably the best place to sit as it’s a little quieter, and had fully adjustable windows and roof, so you can either enjoy or take shelter from the weather. I would however recommend a booking for Friday with a high tide - their website has the live tide times to assist. This pub is what makes this country great.

Went here for lunch. Was served by Camile. She was very nice and police. Very quick to clear table and ask you if you’re okay. Got the fish pie for lunch and it was amazing and very tasty. Especially the veg on the side. Very nice atmosphere and the music is relaxing in the background.

We sat on a table outside. Chose what we wanted and went inside to the bar to order food which was brought out to us swiftly, food was amazing. Ordered one fish burger and one fish and chips. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, superb - thank you A few larger louts were sat outside talking about a few unsavory things which wasn't ideal, we wanted fresh air so sat outside and tried to ignore the unnecessarily loud conversation going on.

Love the Peterboat and always pop in when we're nearby, such a beautiful location. Service was great last night and profiteroles were out of this world! One thing that would have made the meal better would have been having better gravy on the chicken, might be just my personal taste but it was very runny and lacked taste last night which took away from the dish overall. Great pub, love it.

Nice roast lunch - recommend the sirloin beef. Spacious and bright interior on the patio - not too busy around midday but then started to fill up from 1pm onwards

This place has a great atmosphere be it inside or outside. Angela our waitress was superb,friendly service was spot on. We sat inside on a warm early Sunday evening just gone 6pm The food looked good on other tables, but I decided to go for the fish pie, and the wife a green pesto dish. The Chicken pesto dish was delicious 😋 large portion beating the fish pie only in size ... Previous visit last year I went for the fish and chips and was not disappointed. Seafood close bye in other eating places along this little stretch I have yet to try so hope they match up to the Peterboat.

We were a little late for our booking but the welcome was understanding and warm. The service is excellent from the whole team but in particular our waiter, Geoff, is not only very friendly but also superb at his job. The food was a delight and we will return soon.

Lovely venue, nice outdoor area. Standing at the bar and the barman over to my right asks if anyone wants service. I waited, looked around and nobody responded. I walked over and asked a question (do they have a certain whisky) and the guy doesn't even look at me and shouts to the furthest end of the bar if that customer has been served. "Sorry, I'm serving that guy". I'm just left now standing like an idiot waiting for one of the other staff to acknowledge me. If you know someone needs serving go over to them! Rude & lazy. London pricing without the service.

Service not speedy but was busy.

Everything was great. Scampi were a bit overcooked, but we didn't leave any!! Outdoor wooden benches/ seating could have done with some cushions. But that was an older person comment 🙄

Went here for the third time last night and the place is incredible. Great service, delicious food, friendly and chilled out atmosphere. Dog friendly in the bar and patio plus the view of the Thames is great.

Lush Sunday dinner with a party of 8 of us in the patio area. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Amazing food. Starters was the chowder which for someone who’s never had it it was so good! I had the beef for main and couldn’t fault any of it!

Food nice.But very overpriced for a pub.They had abolished the set menu .I noticed and taken off the jacket potatoes.

The atmosphere & location is lovely. The service could be improved although friendly staff. The food was quite good apart from some terrible vegetables served with the fish pie.

Didn’t want a full meal so went for rolls instead. As you will see they were packed out with filling which was also delicious. Would highly recommend.

This is a casual 5 star venue. It gets very busy so has a great atmosphere and great food. The prawn and avocado was superb. The service is also excellent inspite of number of people they cater for. Highly recommend.
