Superb experience. The starter which was duck liver was a delight. For the main course, I had a Skirt Steak. This melted in your mouth and was delicious. The setting was beautiful and the price was right. I recommend.

We've had the best food in Scotland here, in Pentland! Each dish is well presented and cooked to perfection. Personnel is nice and rapidly responsive when asked something. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting as well. Would recommand without any hesitation.

We had afternoon tea here. Overall very nice service, good Quality of food and Beautiful presentation. I think most people will enjoy it. We had a voucher so i cannot say anything about the price.

We were a party of 6 and every single one of us thought the food was fantastic. The server was lovely too.

Nice meal, hamburger and Ox Cheek. Good taste, friendly and delicious Apple crumble!

The breakfast buffet is pretty bad, one of the worst I've had at a hotel. I wouldn't recommend it. The staff weren't friendly or on hand to help with any problems we had.

I certainly enjoyed every bit of my stay at the Dalmahoy Hotel. At the Pentland I loved the food variety, specially dinner service. Breakfast is a little limited but with busy crowds it works well. Generally most staff are friendly & helpful. All Soups are absolutely superb! I loved it. Big thanks to Ms. Louise was my host at dinner last night she was genuinely nice & friendly. Thanks to everyone for making it a great experience.

Food was good and tasty After 1.5 hours and while we were still working on our dessert, we were asked to clear the table for the next guests. This was very disappointing. The waitress then wanted to charge us for 2 extra main courses (accidentally?) and reacted irritated when I told her to do so. The receipt has been corrected, but without further apologies. Service therefore 0 stars

Very surprised to see the bad comments. This restaurant was a very good experience for us. The food was very good. The friendly staff. A good atmosphere with music in the background. Do it again!

The Pentland Restaurant is situated within The Dalmahoy Hotel. It has a nice Scottish ambience with garden views. The menu at the time we ate there was fairly limited although they did have a few specials available. The food is pretty good and not overly expensive and the service is generally good.

Low quality cuisine. And exaggerated prices. Good service and kindness of the staff. There is a lack of vegan dishes.

There is no option to rate zero. Very worst restaurant I have ever visited

Alana was a fabulous waitress and looked after our family really well when we went for dinner. ⭐️

The restaurant has the benefit of being hosted by a gracious room. You can feel the history and the scenery it’s amazing. But the food it’s simply plainly wrong. We ordered the chicken and the salmon and they were bland with nearly nothing as sides. Everything was cold and there was such as few amount of anything we had to carry on eating in the rbedoom as it didn’t even satisfied you. The chicken was supposed to have gnocchi as it’s side but with 5 exact gnocchis I couldn’t consider that a side. As for desserts the only thing to point out was the creme brûlée which felt bland and like it was filled with corn flour. The cutlery, glasses and dishes come dirty. Something we also kept noticing at their breakfast service. All in all, it’s very pricy but wouldn’t even be worth eating in if the price was under 20 pounds.

The food lacked seasoning and flavour. The steak was not worth the money and didn’t have salt or pepper. The desserts at least were good.

A shame both in terms of service and food.

We've stayed at Dalmahoy which was excellent hotel staff . And at the Pentland restaurant the staff and food was amazing

Extremely poor service. No drinks menu so expected to guess what to drink when asked to order, waitress frequently forgot to bring the request water for the table, dessert menus weren’t forthcoming, food poorly presented. Staying as a guest at the hotel and an extremely supplement for ordering the sirloin steak, I’ve seen better presented steaks in standard chain pubs. No sauces on offer with it either. Children’s fish and chips came out with very dry looking goujons. For the prices asked over all very disappointing.

Don't recommend. Poor choice of food. Being vegetarian I had one choice and left starving as such a small portion and very bland taste. Over priced for poor quality.
