This place could and should be fantastic yet isn’t , it’s the classic tourist trap with sub standard produce at top prices , staff were ok and friendly but coffee is out of a push button machine and rubbish , also the smell of knackered fryer oil and the blue haze from the kitchen arnt pleasant, such a shame .

Truly dreadful. The staff were very unwelcoming and rude/blunt to a number of customers before I managed to order. I ordered some ice creams for my children. Don’t bother. Measly portions and a poor quality product combined with some of the most miserable surface I’ve ever suffered. Obviously you pay over the odds for the location but the price per portion was laughable. You’re better off using the ice cream van in the car park.

We visited Pebbles cafe like many people do after a windswept walk along the fabulous Newgale Beach. Due to the current restrictions the cafe are operating take away only, so we purchased two lattes and an ice-cream for our daughter. We were asked by the lady who emerged from the kitchen if we wanted sugar in our coffees which is a little strange as usually this is something a customer does themselves. Nonetheless, we thought no more about it and walked back down the beach with our coffees. When we sat down to drink our coffees mine was so sweet it was undrinkable and obviously an instant sachet latte, my husbands was the same. I threw mine away and at the bottom was a sugary, powder which you get from instant coffee. It’s such a shame as the team are friendly and welcoming and this could be a lovely cafe but I’m afraid to serve two instant coffees for £5.00 is a rip off, dishonest and gives Wales a bad name!

We were staying a short drive away in a Nolton Bay campsite and hoped to find a nice cafe for breakfast. After searching online, we found pebbles cafe which sounded perfect. Upon arrival, we discovered they currently had no seating indoors or out, had a very reduced menu and no coffee. I understand the pandemic has meant small businesses have to operate differently, but think it may be worth updating information online so others won’t make the wasted journey. (Or that people can know what to expect upon arrival).

There was nobody in the cafe and the children were not loud or disruptive when all of a sudden a lady come over from the counter and rather rudely said can you wait outside for your order. We then went outside and there were buckets of children’s beach toys and the children were looking at them when the same lady came out and started ushering the children along and tidying the buckets. Poor attitude and awful service for what clearly is advertised as a family cafe with children’s toys for the beach. Most certainly won’t be returning!

A classic beach front cafe/shop with tables set amongst the beach balls, wet suits and wind breaks. It is a small cafe with only a few tables but has a reasonable menu with a big choice of fillings in sandwiches, toasties, baguettes and rolls.together with a few cooked dishes. The staff were pleasant but the service was slow. I had a cheese and pickle baguette, my wife a tuna mao toastie and both were fine. It has a good range of cooked breakfasts. Pebbles relies on its position a mile from the main village of Newgale for custom. Having arrived at this wonderful beach this location offers the best access to low tide expanses of sand and rock pools. There is also plenty of parking albeit chargeable but relatively cheap (carry pound coins £1 for an hour £3 for the day coins only). Also some very basic public toilets. The wonderful RNLI also keep watch here during high season. For these reasons this is a great location along the Newgale Beach to stop at. (Do check the tides though).

The only thing that was fresh was the boiled water from the kettle. Not even sure if it was Nescafe, more like Tesco Value. These boxes of coffee average at around £2.00. By my reckoning that's a profit of around £20.00 per box. Hot chocolate also from a sachet. Daylight robbery !!! Living local and a regular user of Newgale Beach and what a magnificent beach it is too, but this cafe is a disgrace. Over the years have always used the cafe for the usual drinks, ice cream and bits and bobs, but never bought food from here as we live so close we usually go home at the end of the day of our tea or pick up fish and chips from our chippy, but today decided to get a bite to eat as we had been on the beach all day. My daughter and her friend both order what is described as a large portion of cheesy chips, not my thing but the children love it, anyhow after waiting probably about 10mins the first portion arrived, it was a normal size portion of chips, and with so little cheese on it I'm not kidding you was probably no more than 20 tiny pieces of pre grated cheese that had not even been melted so you had a portion of chips with a few pieces of cheese floating about in the box. I pointed this out the the young man who served us and he politely took it back to add more cheese and also I presume gave it quick blast to melt the cheese, thank you, it was a little more like my daughter was expecting, now here is the thing, at about the same time he brought my daughter's back, her friends chips and dare I use the word cheese arrived, yes it was as bad as the first portion he looked at it and said would you like me to sort that one out for you aswell, to which we replied thank you that be great, two minutes later he comes back and says I'm very sorry but I can't do anything about that one as I've just been shouted at for trying to help you, WOW so the Owner/ Manager has reprimanded a member of staff for trying to sort out a complaint, this is something I can not get my head around. Well thats the last pound coin from my family's pocket that ever gets spent in Pebble's.

I have to make it clear that this review is about the Pebbles cafe at the entrance to Newgale Holiday Park, Newgale. It is the cafe/shop next to the public toilets, it is on the Newgale to Nolton Haven road.It is not to be confused with The Pebbles Gallery and coffee shop in the center of St Davids, which is a first class establishment.I am saying this because I have noticed Trip Advisor reviews mixing up the two places, I want no confusion as to which place this review concerns. So, this is about Pebbles cafe at NEWGALE.Since holidaying locally for a number of years, my wife and I have had occasion to use this place.Bear in mind it is both a cafe and a seaside shop, not only selling food and beverage, but also kiddies buckets and spades, beach balls, all manner of beach paraphernalia, I must admit even proper adult wetsuits etc.We had occasion, last year, to need wetsuits. The establishment had an offer on, so we purchased 2 between us, we were content with the offer and the service we had.Apart from an ice cream, to take away, no more visits were made, until, one day we had missed lunch, we were at Newgale beach, walking our dog, we decided to stop at Pebbles cafe and purchase 2 paninis, to take away and consume on the beach. We were basing the potential quality on our experience purchasing the wetsuits. We went in and ordered the 2 paninis, as I recall they were basic cheese and ham.We had to pay up front, cash, as debit cards not accepted below a certain value, despite the cost of 2 paninis nearly making their limit, nearly but not quite. We sat outside waiting.About 20 minutes later they arrived. We went to beach and started eating.I can only describe them as incipid, our dog even struggled to eat the scraps we gave her and believe me, our dog isn't fussy. The service was appalling, the staff all looked as if someone had passed away, within the last hour, any courtesy was lost in the realms of time.So you live and learn, we didn't go back. So, this year, holidaying locally again, we were heading out for the day, with our dog.We realised we had forgotten the dogs water, we were passing Pebbles cafe, deciding nothing could go wrong purchasing something as simple as a bottle of water, we stopped and I went in to buy a bottle, purely the convenience.I found the bottled water in the fridge, selected a 500ml (small) bottle and went to the counter. As usual, attended to by somebody with a face of granite, who said £1.45, no please, just £1.45.Talk about extortionate, I don't pay £1.45 at any country fairs etc, where you can guarantee high prices.I don't know if it was the shock, or me just feeling very generous towards my dog, but I paid up.I paid using a £10 note, all I had in cash. The look I got was atrocious, I apologised for not having anything smaller, as far as I'm concerned it was money going in their till, if they weren't astute and business savvy to have enough change, that was their tough luck.I received my change, without a thank you and left, never to go back there again. And now I'll complete my review. The place is overpriced, the food appears mediocre, if you choose to eat outside, the tables and chairs are laid out along the rear wall of the public toilets, if you want chips, there are plenty on the staffs shoulders.Drive a further 300 yards and there are excellent cafes in the heart of Newgale. As I have said, my thoughts cover a twelve month period, my latest, water, experience being June this year.I made enquiries, the place is still owned by the same person that has owned it for years. Please do not confuse my review of this place, Pebbles Cafe, with Pebbles Gallery in St Davids, the place in St Davids has nothing to do with this establishment and is a five star set up.

Called in cafe for a cuppa tea before I had a job interview there and to be honest I weren't all that impressedThere was only 1 member of staff there which was doing everything, wasn't over friendly and wasn't enthusiastic when customers came in.Service by her was quite slow, cafe wasn't busy but was more engrossed sorting stick out after just having a delivery, the tea came in plastic typhoo teapots but was using Yorkshire tea teabags in them. I felt that the interview I had there was very unprofessionally done, was done in the cafe with customers in the cafe that could hear everything that was said which in my mind was not right, realistically speaking it should have been done out our public eye in another area where they couldn't see it was an interview I can see by recent reviews that other patrons of the cafe have had similar service of slow, unfriendly & not so good experiences there which in all honesty I totally agree as to what's been said, sorry Pebbles Cafe i have had better in a transport type cafe but not like what's been experienced here

Lovely spot for cafe, but the food is very basic greasy spoon type got 2 Americano coffee and a tea, the coffee was not ground coffee, but instant instead and the tea came in a horrible plastic tea pot looking like it had not been cleaned proper in a long time, if any was thinking of stopping here they'd be better just carrying on 2 min north to a much better cafe.

This place shouldn't even be rated a 1 star! First of all is that the whole entire staff have got faces that you can tell tgey dont want to be there when you walk in! And from there on it gets worse! The women behind the counter tried over charging me for what i bought until i made her give me the prices of each item so i could work it out, and guess what she was £1.50 over! Then i went to pay by card which is in plain view in the window that you can use all types of card but the women said that we had to spend over £15 to use it?!?!? Lucky i had change in the car! So after that we were waiting for our cone of chips, so we were just browsing at the wetsuits for sale and then this old blonde women came out from the kitchen telling the women behind the counter fairly loud to tell us to go outside to wait for our take out!!! It was really windy outside and we were carrying our 8 month old daughter! I couldn't believe what i was hearing!!! But the women never said anything to us because she probably thought it was rude aswell! then 5 minutes later she came back out saying it even louder! To go tell those people to go outside and wait! The shop was more than less empty and we were not in anyones way either as we were browsing! This was outrageous behaviour by this blonde women! I would say there still open as its in a prime location otherwise this place would be out of business a long time ago....... My advise is to stay clear and use the shop a mile down the road which is half the price anyway!

This cafe / shop is situated right by one of the main car parks at Newgale beach. It should be good. But it isn't. The service is poor and bordering on the rude. The food is overpriced. Nearly £7 for a tuna sandwich and packet of crisps. My recommendation would be to avoid and go elsewhere.

I holiday in Newgale every year & have used the Pebbles cafe a few times over the years. They never fail to disappoint me. I can only assume that it is their location of being the only option at that end of the beach that has kept them open. There are too many members of staff, & yet they are all surprisingly slow. I only ever sat in for food once & had to wait over half an hour for sausage & chips x4. None of us could finish the meal as it was so greasy & very poor quality. It was also incredibly overpriced. I thought the sausages may have been locally sourced, butcher's quality meat for this price. But definately was not! Don't assume that you will pay the same price all week for anything in this shop. The prices can change more than once in the period of a week! The choice of ice-cream is poor, owing to the fact that they had no vanilla or strawberry on the 2 days I visited on my last stay in Newgale. They have a sign in plain view declaring that they take card payments, but this is only an occasional service as the card machine is regularly unavailable & the paper (easy to remove) sign is left on display. The customer service is terrible. The staff seem as though they don't want to be there & don't care who knows it! Staff are mostly rude & incompetent.I really have nothing positive to say about this cafe. It has been a constant disappointment over the years. I won't be using them again & hope they give it up, as they clearly want to, and let someone who cares about the customer take it over.New Surf on the same road sell a lot of the same stuff & were cheaper for everything I wanted including sea shoes. Avoid at all costs (only they won't be costs, there will be savings!!)

A1 location with stupidly over priced ordinary below average food and drinks So many people who stay at our caravan comment on the prices and standard of food that although very average (can't go wrong with chips) doesn't reflect the sky high prices .What a shame!

We stopped here for a cup of tea during a beach walk. The tea was ordinary as you would expect from a shop/cafe. We did not eat so I cannot comment on the food. Whilst sitting drinking our tea I noticed a large notice stating that no refunds are given for defective goods sold only an exchange. Can someone from trading standards please tell them this is contrary to the statutory rights under the Sale of Goods Act!

Pleasant, nice, nothing bad, nothing outstanding. We had a cheese sandwich and a Panini followed by penny sweets! Not the best value, but neither is it ridiculous.

we were visiting St Davids for the first time, and had been to the cathedral. This is one of the closest cafes which is why we went there. But is was very good, would certainly go back there, food and coffee first class.

Where do I start. A large tea was a small cup with one tea bag in a HUGE plastic jug of water. Sausage and chips was not any quality reflected by the prices charged. I've had equal quality of a burger van outside of a nightclub. It was a disappointing pit stop that could have easily been a different story as it's a beautiful setting.

The staff at this beach cafe deserve all the support you can give, such a seasonal enterprise is very difficult to succeed at but they give it their all. Really friendly and a good selection of food, drink and beach stuff including good selection of wetsuits. Great pot of tea.

What a lovely view from a small but cosy little cafe/shop overlooking the bay food was home cooked and very tasty. Car park a bit expensive to park ( like to say council run nothing to do with the cafe owners) £1 an hour. Would visit again would recommend to visitors.

What a terrible cafe in this day and age.We suffered their over priced 'cappuccino ' which was obviously one of those packet 'all-in -one' jobs, whisked to a frenzy in a cheap small tacky mug....all for the princely sum of £2.20 EACH!! Costa prices. As other reviewers have said, what a missed opportunity- get a real coffee machine, learn to make good food, get some customer service skills & SMILE.Shame on you for ripping people off.

This cafe has so much potential and could be a little gem but despite numerous poor reviews year after year things haven't changed. Good selection of beachy goods and not too overly priced. The cafe side is let down badly by solemn faced staff who don't seem to enjoy working/interacting with the public and poor outside eating set up. Can't comment on food as I have never felt I wanted to stay long enough to eat! There is no competition so I guess there is no incentive to change things, a bit take it or leave it attitude. Shame, simple to fix?!

Called into here after a walk along the beach. Only had a cup of tea, served with a plastic teapot and plastic milk jug which I can only assume was for ease and to reduce the cost of breakages etc. although I was given a cup & saucer. The lady who served me was very indifferent towards me when I ordered - when you are on your own it is very difficult to order your food/drink at the counter and then say at which table you are sitting. While I was there the staff could be heard in the kitched laughing and joking whilst a potential customer came in and went again as she couldn't attract anyone's attention. I appreciate that at work you occassionally have a laugh etc. but it could have been kept down. That said there was a good view of the beach through the window.

A simple burger and a tea was ordered. Firstly it took longer than it should have because the three ladies were dealing with "an exceptional order", which is fair enough, time wasn't an issue. Then I was asked if I wanted salad with my £4.95 4 oz burger, which I declined as the usual garnish on a burger would in my mind be sufficient. Anyway, what came in the polystyrene tray was a think overcooked biscuit like burger and bread bun and a ketchup sachet. The optional salad had been the garnish. For $.95 it was a rubbish burger at a price you normally find at concerts or sports events where you are captive. Then, when you go outside to look at the sea, the view is obscured by the council toilets, leaving the carpark as the best vista. Oh and your outside chairs are rusty too.

Went to this cafe today at about 11am, first week of the Easter holidays and a beautiful sunny day, thought we would round off a gorgeous walk with a coffee. The door was open and the tables all laid up but we were met at the door by a female staff member who obviously was having a bad day. When asked if they were open we were met with the curt response "no", when asked if they were likely to open was again met with a "no". I don't know what the circumstances were obviously but curtesy and manners cost nothing and which, if you want to work in the hospitality business, is surely a must. Also what a dreadful business decision not to open on such a glorious and potentially profitable day, the beach was teeming with customers. We went to the competition at the other end of the beach (Sands Cafe), much nicer and guess what, friendly service. As another reviewer said, AVOID !

This must be one of the best Cafe's in Pembrokeshire which such a lovely scenic beach! The food is delicious and very well priced, and not to mention quick. The ice cream is superb, there is such a wide variety to choose from! The staff are extremely friendly and polite too! I also hired a kayak and had a huge amount of fun on it! Defiantly worth it! I'd recommend this beach cafe to friends, family and anyone else!

Bad decision by someone. Coffee machines changed to preset ones rather than a traditional barista style. Cannot have extra hot coffee so was lukewarm at best and took 3 times as long. Bring back the old machines! Staff fed up with everyone asking for extra hot coffee! Sorry but we will be going to Costa across the road from now on.

No issues with service (food arrives quickly) however the quality of the food and ingredients are below par. Spaghetti Bolognese like a school dinner. A shame really as it's nicely done out.
