A poor service from beginning to end. Very cold dining space on a cold January night was not fun at all, I left aching from being so cold all evening. Service incredibly slow, with meals for the 8 of us in our party being served one by one. There was no flow to the service at all with plates being placed and collected from the wrong sides of diners. Cutlery placement looked as if we were dining in a little chef. All of the food was of poor quality, the meats were so overcooked they were tough. This coupled with being cheap cuts of meat was not good. Staff need training on service and some leadership in needed in service delivery too offer value for money.

We came for the Santa carvery on Sunday and we had a great time. We were a little bit early so we sat next to a beautiful fireplace and lovely giant Xmas tree whilst we waited. We were taken to our table and shortly after greeted by a very jolly elf who took us to Santa. He was a great Santa very jolly and very chatty to all of us. With his real white beard and white hair he was the best Santa we’ve seen over the years. The carvery and desserts were delicious and we left with full bellies. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. I hope they put this on again next year because I’ll be definitely booking up again

We went for the festive afternoon tea, unfortunately there wasn't much in the way of festive apart from a shop bought mince pie.It was very generic, no wow factor and definitely not worth £30. I would love a conversation with the chef to advise him/her what makes a festive afternoon tea as they clearly had no idea. Even a touch of holly and red ribbon would have made a difference. At this price you need to get your act together. We won't be returning. Notice from other disappointed reviews you've said changes would be made, clearly they haven't.

We had the most amazing time at the Lunch with Santa yesterday. The food was amazing, the service was perfect and my goodness the Santa is the best Santa we have seen and that includes Lapland. We have booked here for the last 3 years as we adore the Santa and my daughter has always said this is the real Santa! The huge xmas tree looked so beautiful. Great value for money too. So magical - literally couldn’t fault it!

Visited last week because we had an Afternoon Tea voucher. The sandwiches were OK and quite tasty, with a strange addition of some sort of lettuce, tomato, smashed avocado concoction. The scones were small and a bit hard but tasted OK with the addition of the small amount of cream and jam provided. The cakes were a bit of a disappointment. Shop bought jam tart, small squares of brownie, coconut sponge/biscuit and small lemon cheesecakes (which were the only ones that got eaten). We were asked if we wanted to take the leftovers home but declined as I’d just have binned them. I’d looked at the menu online before we went and I know items can change but the cakes were in a different league to those shown on the menu.

We ordered 4 pizzas and 3 sides. The pizzas arrived, to which one was incorrect and the sides didn’t arrive at all. After a lengthy conversation with the establishment, the restaurant was not overly cooperative, saying they would send a replacement pizza and sides. The driver even informed us that they hadn’t given him the sides upon arrival. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

Poole harbour seafood festival. Visited Dorset Oyster bar & Champagne bar, what a disappointment. Disorganised, serious queues, no system once you paid, no receipts, those prepping oysters were relying on customers telling them what we had ordered. No table service. Carry own tray, no disposal bins. Seriously over priced over advertised, so disappointing. So many customers around us reporting the same.

Had champagne afternoon tea. Staff were lovely, left us alone to chat but probably could have come over sooner to ask if we needed anything, sandwiches were tasty but the bread had dried out a bit and they had left the crusts on. Not what you expect. Scones and cakes were delicious though. I would recommend as ok and hope the bread was better.
