Food was to die for and owners were really lovely. Not from Lincoln, but would absolutely travel here again. Had the gammon, chips, egg and peas followed by brownie and icecream. It was divine!

New owners friendly and food was ok but there was a dog behind the bar which followed the lady serving the food. I don't have a dog and am allergic to them so it really put me off. I don't know if it went into the kitchen but still don't want dogs near my food.

Very friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Food hot and tasty. Vegetarian & vegan food available. Will definitelyvterurn on next visit to Lincoln.

Went for Sunday lunch, would highly recommend. New owners in last few months who have already made improvements. We will be back

Ignore the poor reviews - these were before the current management, which is rapidly restoring this pub to its former reputation as a welcoming, vibrant local. We visited for a birthday celebration - food from the revamped and varied menu was delicious and fresh, with great service and atmosphere. Good to see so many people out on a weekday evening enjoying the pub. We ate in the restaurant area, but will also return for a drink in the bar area. A proper local which is also there for visitors.

The starters were amazing. However, we ordered 4 mains, 1 of which was steak and ale pie with chips. It came with mash 🙁. The pie was burnt to a cinder inside, how this happened I do not know, but as soon as I cut into it you could smell the burnt inside. Returned meal and declined a fresh one. Staff were very apologetic and stated they would obviously not charge for this meal..... low and behold they did. PLEASE check your receipts. Another meal ordered was gammon that stated it was served with peas or salad, salad was chosen but we were charged extra for this!!! Its such a shame as the staff member who served us seemed lovely and we often go here for birthday meals but will definitely not be going again. Very disappointed, these things do happen and as I said they were apologetic but to have the nerve to charge us for a meal that wasnt eaten is absolutely disgusting and the lady behind the bar looked like she could not care less 🙁🙁

Booked in for Mothers Day treat for 6 adults , 2 teens and a toddler. Firstly there was no one around to seat us , so we just sat ourselves down. We didn’t know if drink orders were taken at table so just took ourselves to bar. Ordered food. 6 of us had Sunday lunches and wow what a disappointment. Turkey tasted frozen/ thawed out and had a funny taste, burnt stuffing balls, mash potatoes were inedible possibly frozen/ thawed out. Yorkshire pudding like cardboard. Far too much gravy possibly to disguise to taste.!!! All of us left a lot of if. Fingers crossed we are all ok tomorrow.service slow and unfriendly, no check back, no offer of sauces. Private function on too!! possibly the landlady, several members kept going in and out of the kitchen even a small child at one point.Did speak with manager regarding payment, who wiped our bill completely!!! Will not be returning.

This place has gone downhill drastically since my last visit. The service was very slow and the food average at best. Also, there was a 45 minute wait on the food when the pub wasn't busy and whilst the other 2 tables had already been served there food. It's a shame as it used to be a really good pub.

Visited the pub Saturday lunchtime for a family meal and get together. Once again fabulous meals were had by all. Generous portions and top quality food. Very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back

We've been here a few times now for Sunday lunch and everytime we've been greeted with a smile. Everytime the service is great, very friendly and attentive. The food is equally as good and there's always plenty of it too, nice quality and cooked to perfection.

While there was a warm welcome on arrival, we couldn't help but be disappointed which was a shame as we'd expected better from a Greene King offering. We visited early evening on the Thursday before Easter weekend, so just at the start of what is usually a busy bank-holiday weekend for the hospitality trade. The place had no beer - only lager on offer. This did not bode well, a pub without cask ales, so maybe we should have left then to find somewhere else, but since Covid, many places finish food service early, so being our first night in te city we stuck with it. So to order food - hubby opted for the fish and chips, and me the mushroon pie & mash. The barman came back a couple of minutes later to advise they'd run out of fish, so hubby had to try to remember what else was on the menu (because it wasn't brought back for him to choose again) and decided to change to steak. The bar side had a few in watching the football, and in the restaurant side we liked the way the TV was "framed" to look like a picture, but why did the volume of the TV have to be so loud on this side of the bar? The music was still playing, but we struggled to work out what the songs were because of the volume of the commentary, and this was daft seeing as there were only 3 tables occupied, and all at the opposite end to the TV so clearly customers this side didn't want the commentary. The table was also sticky, so not well wiped between customers. Then the meals arrived - the steak was disappointing - accompanied by a good mound of chips and a couple of onion rings - it all looked the same colour. Now not having been able to re-read the menu, we don't know if it was missing the "splash of colour" that usually comes with addition of a grilled tomato or peas. My pie arrived with chips and the barman said "I had to change it to chips because the mash isnt vegan" I told him I wasn't vegan so it wouldnt have mattered and he did offer to change it, but by then the pie would have gone cold so I stuck with the chips. What I don't understand is why he didn't bother to ask, just made the change. Very very poor customer service, he should at least have asked if I wanted chips instead. To be fair though, the pie was brilliant and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again when in another green king pub (becuase they all have the same menu) although I am in the camp of opinion that reckons gravy is better with mash not chips. Although we were not impressed and dissapointed by this single visit to a Green King establishment, GK pubs are usually of a reasonable standard. The staff though were friendly and professional. Still seems odd that they were out of staple drinks on the eve of a busy bank holiday weekend. So in summary, the place did appear to be cared for and generally clean, the staff were welcoming and the menu reasonable. However, if you are not in to sport, then this is not the place for you.

Shocking! Went in for quiet drink. Had something randomly thrown at me from across the bar. Complained to the bar man who said that was acceptable behaviour and didn’t see the problem. Told the other parties that nothing was wrong. Refused to let us talk to a manager.

Visited the Peacock in when staying in Lincoln for the night at a nearby hotel. We arrived at about 430 knowing food wasn't served till 5. On arrival we went to the bar and ordered drinks and asked if we could sit in the restaurant whilst we waited till serving. The young gentleman with blonde hair said that was OK and gave us a couple of menus to look at whilst we waited. Once 5pm came we ordered our food: Starters - Deep Fried Halloumi with Sour Cream and Salsa Dip & Chicken Liver Pate with Red Onion Chutney and Toast Mains - Steak and Ale Pie with Chips, Seasonal Veg and Gravy & Chickpea and Sweet Potato Curry with Rice. We also shared a portion of Onion Rings. No faults to be found with the food overall. All of the food tasted brilliant. Our mains were fantastic and full of flavour - certainly one of the best S/A pies I've had. Would definitely use the pub again if staying in the same area.

Went here when visiting family, wanted to watch the rugby so popped it. Great atmosphere and decent food and beer too

We were walking through the top part, when we took a wrong turn...Called into "The Peacock" and was greeted warmly by both Xander and Connor. The menu was reasonably priced and had plenty to choose from. I went for the steak, medium rare.... Couldn't of been more perfect. 10/10 definitely recommending and visiting again

Went in for dinner with the Mrs the menu is very basic compared to how it used to be and the food has gone really down hill I had a steak and it was absolutely awful the Mrs couldn’t find owt on the menu as it’s all mainly burgers and grill only

Staff were welcoming upon arrival, allowed us to sit socially distanced away from other guests. Drinks were prompt, food was delicious and presented well. Didn't have room for dessert but I can't say I was surprised about that after I saw the portion sizes going out to others before we'd even received our meals! Excellent service!

This is by far my favourite pub, friendly bar staff and food is always top nosh. Dogs are welcome in the bar area and outside seating in the summer. I can recommend the sunday lunch , curry and the lasagne is yummy.

Lived on Wragby Rd for 20 years driven and waked past here over the years, AMAZING, service food atmosphere 100%. Got the regulars in there standing at the bar but were so welcoming. Thank u to bar man and partner and chef . Will be back.

Looking at previous reviews of good service I guess we were unlucky with our visit but nevertheless good service should be standard and not hit and miss. We arrived just before 5 and were greeted by a friendly chap who showed us to the table and took our drinks order. We were the only people in the restaurant so less than busy. Shift take over happened and the chap who greeted us, sadly went off shift. After several staff, who had come on shift looked over and ignored us and after 15 minutes, and our drinks finished, still no one came over to take our food order. Enough was enough and we made our feelings known to the less than busy staff and left hungry to find a better run establishment.

I don’t complain a lot !! But this was the worst ever experience as a paying customer !! Not one member on staff smiled until the very end of the three hours spent in there and that was a slight smile ! What amazed me...

Fourteen in the party ranging from 18 to 80. Despite booking the starters and mains in advance it was 20 minutes before the first starters arrived and nearly and hour before the mains. Both starters and mains were delivered in a haphazard manner. The last mains on the table 15 minutes after the first. Three dishes not what had been ordered and long wait to be corrected. "worst steak ever" and "chicken dish that tasted like sawdust" Staff really need to get a personality or perhaps not be in front of customers. As a pub it is ok but the food just not good enough.

We visited here for lunch. When arriving we were not seated so decided to sit ourselves. We were then asked to move. The restaurant side of the inn was empty bar one other table so we found this odd and quite rude. The waitress had a bit of an attitude and everything seemed to be a task. She did not smile or even look at us when she spoke to us. The food was average at best, the pesto pasta lacked pesto and I left an almost full plate of food. Zero customer service and we won't be returning. Such a shame.

Visited here a couple of times over the past couple of years and decided to have a meal here again whilst visiting Lincoln. Wish we hadn't bothered. Staff were rude shouting across the restaurant at one another. Complaining they couldn't take food orders as too busy clearing up from a wedding prior to our visit. No one took our drinks orders so went up to the bar, only for another table to have table service 5 minutes later. Food very poorly presented. Lasagna came in a pudding bowl, which we noted to have a crack in it. Which we then noted the same bowl been used for my dessert. Very long waiting times despite been quiet. Noted other tables had left a lot of there food as well.

Nice pleasant pub serving great food, can recommend the enormous fish and chips ! Check the last ordering time.

Today as we were in the area yes the Cathedral quarter we took the opportunity to enjoy a Sunday lunch in the Peacock Inn, Superb is the word for sure I chose the Beef well done or pink being my choice. Jady chose the Pork both dishes served with the usual vegetables yes Al Dente, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, my favourite mashed potatoes and of course plenty of gravy. The service was excellent thanks to the staff we were seated in the patio area with sufficient shade on this warm summer’s day in the heart of Lincoln. Car parking is available with in this establishment for six med sized vehicles as the remainder of the car park is now a larger outdoor area and so it should be as customers comfort first, well planned landlord. A big thanks to all concerned including the chef naturally too. Prices are good and reasonable with sufficient seating a very good atmosphere it was excellent. We will be returning very shortly and may also be tempted with the Thursday Steak Night for our friends and family.

After searching on Google for a pub with gluten free options as my husband is coeliac we came across this little gem a 10 minute walk from our hotel we thought we would give it a try really glad we did its set on the corner of a main road, inside was nicely decorated and we were welcomed by two friendly members of staff. The menu had lots to offer and a good choice of gluten free meals,also have a specials board. The food was nicely presented and a good sized portion lovely flavours couldn't fault it at all. Both finished of with a delicious pudding would definitely visit this place again I live 50 minutes away from Lincoln so will certainly be going back.

Possibly the best fish & chips I have ever had!!! Great, fresh Haddock, perfect chips, and generous portions served by friendly, helpful staff. Just superb, we will be back, SOON!!

Party of four, we arrived at short notice but this wasn’t a problem, and quickly shown to our table by the lovely Emma, who was the perfect hostess. Nothing was too much trouble, a very efficient friendly restaurant serving excellent food. Couldn’t fault it at all, meals were piping hot and very tasty. Must give a mention of the sticky toffee pudding, the best we have ever had, it was to die for. We will definitely be back!

Arrived 30mins before booking and shown straight to our table , limited menu on a sunday though, 3 of us had the roast and i had the ribeye off the specials board, when the meals arrived piping hot we tucked in , my steak was cooked perfectly with no fat on the edge and the accompanied onion rings,mushrooms and of course chips were e excellent , the others really enjoyed their roast with clean plates from us all . Definitely a must try place for a good meal ,the beer is pretty good too , keep it up Simon.

Spent a few days near the cathedral and visited this pub twice to eat. On both occasions the food was great and the service excellent. Would definitely eat here again.

We went on an especially busy day given it was the Lincoln 10k. Very busy but the service was fantastic. The food was of really good quality and at a very reasonable price. A friend and I both had the ‘pink’ beef Sunday roast which was fantastic and my wife had the gammon which she said was wonderful. Very, very good and would definitely go back.

Went for a meal with friends having never been here before. Menu had good choice. Waitress took our order promptly and food came out quickly. I had the steak and chicken sizzler which was ok. Waitress never asked us whether we wanted deserts after she cleared our mains, we had to call her back over when it became clear she wasn’t coming back. Would be nice to see her smile. When we came to pay we were not provided with a bill, just a total amount, and when we asked if we could split it between us we were told we couldn’t. I presume she meant she couldn’t produce separate bills as we did then proceed to divide the amount of the total bill and pay on separate cards. Very odd as we didn’t get a bill to check it was correct, not convinced it was right!

Food is always good but on this occasion had a Rib Eye Steak, have to say I think it is the best piece of steak I have ever had, absolutely brilliant.

Visited last night with friends, had a great time. The waitress that looked after us was very friendly, always had a smile on her face and was very attentive. The food was lovely as always, there was a good range on the menu, even catering for gluten free which you don't often see! We all thoroughly enjoyed it and i'm already looking forward to visiting again! The food was all freshly cooked and was really tasty, which makes a difference to a lot of the pubs in Lincoln which all serve mirowaved cheap and nasty food and we didn't have to wait long either. When leaving, the landlord even took time to say goodbye to us and make sure everything was okay - which I can honestly say I have never had anywhere else I've visited so this was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend!

As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile from the lady behind the bar and made to feel very welcome whilst waiting for my friends to arrive. There was an open fire which was lovely on this chilly evening. When my friends arrived we were asked where we would like to sit and eat and opted for the restaurant area which was laid out beautifully.

Sooo disappointed, normally really good fish and chips and service, but today both awful. Waited ages for a drink, plates left, no-one even asked if we wanted drinks. For the fish, which has always been beautiful, today the batter was just too thick and soggy. We all left the very thick and soggy batter, when we said the fish nothing like usual, we were told it was a different flour!!

Food was very nice, one waitress was more interested in feeding her face behind the bar than looking after customers, had to ask for menus and drinks.Both of them were not particularly people friendly.

Not a regular here but popped in to watch Bury FC v Lincoln City. The staff are excellent and make you feel very welcome. They cannot do enough for you and they treat you like you are a regular. The ales are well kept too.

We had eaten here before a year or two ago and enjoyed the food so decided we would come here for a meal on Christmas Eve. We preordered our food two months in advance and were looking forward to a nice festive meal as a family.

Went to the peacock early Thursday evening and we opted for two sirloin steaks at £25 for 2. They arrived Nicely garnished and very generous in size. Very tender and cooked exactly medium rare as ordered. Excellent. Service friendly in a pleasant atmosphere.

Tuvimos una comida a la hora del almuerzo para 16, todos pre ordenados. El servicio fue estupendo, la comida se sirve todos juntos y caliente. El personal es muy amable y una gran bienvenida. El estacionamiento es limitado, pero no es un problema con el estacionamiento público al otro lado de la calle. He visitado varias veces y la comida y el servicio han sido muy buenos cada vez y definitivamente lo recomendaría.

We stopped here for a quick lunch. Car park was a squeeze, only room for a handful of cars so don’t rely on there being a space. Decor was a bit dated but staff were friendly. Food was quick as they weren’t busy, I had steak and my partner had a burger. Thought was a tad over priced but I enjoyed the steak.

I had a bit salad with prawns chucked on to represent a prawn cocktail, after waiting an age - the driest - worst hamburger I think I have tasted, arrived. All pre-ordered and yet when we were asking for our starter to allow others to proceed with main courses was a major problem. On second time of asking we were told - it is 'complicated for the chef' . Next excuse some of our party were still to arrive and had not 'pre-ordered - they had - ran out of pizza which was 'pre-ordered' they said it was not pre-ordered! So many great eateries in Lincoln - this is not one of them! My husband's 'pre-ordered' starter of Cajun salmon was changed without asking him to 'Cajun chicken' which may have been fine - but what was his main course 'Cajun chicken' !!! which he had 'pre-ordered'

I came here with my partner hoping for a nice meal in a quite environment, however we only achieved one of these virtues. The music was playing so loud from the kitchen that we all had the displeasure of hearing when ever the door swung open. The chefs also kept shouting, shrieking and making all sorts of funny noises. This wouldn’t of been a problem if the dinning room wasn’t so close to the kitchen. I could tell that the other dinners were getting agitated by this too.

I've been coming here for a long time but tonight I was very disappointed in the food. The ingredients tasted cheap and greasy and the presentation of the food was more cafe style yet still had the higher end prices.

Ate here tonight, steak amazing, fish and chips brilliant. Hannah and her staff always make you welcome. Can’t fault it.

Went here with a group of freinds for a works night out meal, to be fair to start the serving staff were a lovely bunch of girls who couldn't do enougth for you, it was parts of the meal that let it down. Being a big group of us I knew it wouldn't be a quick fix so was prepared for a long wait, but wasent expecting how long it would be, my starter arrived which was Garlic mushrooms and I must admit they didn't disappoint, next was the main which was gammon, when it arrived I was in shock as it was burnt all round the sides and the egg on top was cremated to hell, my partner had ordered Cajun chicken when his arrived it was that black on top it was inedible, these meals were sent back, 2 other people in our group were given the wrong orders so also there meals had to be re done,when our meals for the four of us came back all our group had finished eating,so not good. And to top things off as we started our fresh meals there was a bust up in the bar and it put us all off.we were offered our meals for half price but to me think they should of been free. Don't think I would revisit

We decided on sunday lunch and this was one of the best we have ever had. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff very efficient and friendly. The portions are good. We added cauliflower cheese which was delicious but it was not necessary really as there was plenty of vegetables. We had apple crumble with custard, again delicious and a good portion. We will be back.

This is one of my all time favourite places to eat. The food is of consistently good standard and very reasonable. There is a wide choice of dishes and they keep a very good wine stock. Always good food, always good value and service.

Superb roast beef served with lots of vegetables ,homemade Yorkshire pudding and rich gravy,fantastic we will return again very soon. Busy restaurant best to book a table.

Had a fantastic lunch at The Peacock today. I had the 12oz Rump cooked blue, it came done to perfection, I also had the Stilton Sauce with it which was superb. My wife had the chicken tikka masala, she said it was really nice. I have had many meals here and continue to return based on the quality of the food and the excellent service, Hannah is so helpful, nothing is too much trouble for her.

Just returned from a lovely celebration weekend with our friends. Highlight was the lunch over 30 of us enjoyed at The Peacock Inn. Food, which was pre ordered, was delicious. Good size portions, well presented and very flavoursome. Service was efficient and staff were friendly and accommodating. Everyone had a really good wet and miserable Saturday afternoon, particularly our mate Ray who was the celebratee.

We visited this pub a couple of times on our walk around Lincoln. People were enjoying there xmas meal the first time, and it was bar only on xmas day. Very attentive bar staff, who even give you a thank you as you leave. Most enjoyable

Most of the pre-ordered meals were very good but I had ordered salmon. I did say before it was served that I wanted my salmon not overcooked but it was too late as they had already cooked it - roasted. The salmon was dry; I guess that's the down side of pre-ordering as a group. Apart from that, the risotto which came with it was very nice and the prawn cocktail starter was well presented. Overall, the customers were very satisfied with their meals.

Popped in for a meal with our friends prior to Christmas, only pre-requisite was Steaks. Having had a very poor experience at Marco Pierre White's in the city, I needed for my faith in all things meat to be restored.

Called in here again for the second time today this time for a Sunday lunch, the food was lovely and hot I had the stuffed chicken with lovely fresh vegetables, first class to the chefs, all well cooked I was full no room for a sweet, a lovey cosy well presented public house that serves lovely good...

I met up with friends for lunch before Christmas. Never tried this pub before, so I was looking forward to going. My friends recommended it, and I'm glad they did.

Visited this restaurant as a party of 9 for Sunday lunch. Food was very nice, hot and well presented. Service slightly on the slow side and restaurant was very cold.

Went for a family lunch. Meal was piping hot. Service was great. Nice and friendly. Toilets clean. Service quick.

Visited here on Sunday for a meal with my family and I was pleasantly surprised. There was a good range of meals on the menu to suit everybody’s taste and the food was good. My boyfriend had the Spanish pork with chorizo and said it was super tasty! I, like most of us there had the roast beef which wasn’t too bad either. All in all a nice experience with attentive waiting staff.

Went to this restaurant for my 60th birthday with friends,everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meals and everyone agreed they were very very good,we all agreed that we would be back asap,very relaxing and after being given plenty of time at our table we went to the bar for drinks, having planned to go elsewhere we then decided to spend the whole evening at the Peacock.Great evening thanks very much
