The food here is excellent, the staff efficient and friendly. There seems to me something for everyone on the menu. I am so pleased to have found this place.

First class in every way. Food, service, decor and atmosphere all superb. Good value for money too. We all had a lovely time. Many thanks.

Food is always tasty and filling. My go to is the pie (savoury) of the day….hot and delicious. Great local place which I’m so lucky!

Had a wonderful meal here today. Traditional English food, beautifully cooked with first class ingredients. Steak and kidney pudding to die for- very light suet pudding- no stodge! Wonderful plum Bakewell tart. I’m a really fussy eater but this meal was really good. We both cleared our plates. Nice waiting staff too, restaurant was spotlessly clean, a bit quirky but I like quirky, has a 1940/50’s feel. We’ll definitely be back. If you like traditional food done really well you’ll love this place.

Another fab breakfast at the Parlour. Got to meet the chef today as well, and he is as friendly as his other half. The coffee is great as well. And if, like me, you can be fussy with mushrooms, well have no fear, the ones here a buttery soft and full of flavour. If you don't like these then you really don't like mushrooms. Everything else is tasty and cooked to perfection as well. I honestly don't think you can get a better English breakfast than this. 10 out of 10 (again!)

Had breakfast at The Parlour today. This is the first time I've eaten there and it certainly won't be the last. Loved the decor with very comfy seating. The staff were really efficient, helpful and friendly. One of our party has some specific food intolerances and the staff were very helpful. Food was spot on. Excellent quality and beautifully prepared. Lovely cafe/restaurant and we'll certainly be visiting again.

We eat here monthly - the food is wonderful! So difficult to choose out of all the delicious dishes but the steak and ale pie is a hot favourite- the meat is so tender and flavoursome.

Our family have been going to this family run restaurant for many years now and never had a meal that wasn't excellent! Last Saturday was no exception, there are always specials as well as a regular menu, with a great variety of fantastic dishes to choose from and would highly recommend a visit!

What gem of a restaurant this is. Pity that it’s only open for breakfast and lunches. Extremely good “home cooked”:meals from an extensive menu including daily specials. Friendly and attentive staff. The whole experience was memorable.

Came for Christmas lunch with my art group. 💯 the meal was delicious and the service excellent. We were a group of 14 and everyone had a great time.

A group of 21 have just enjoyed a fabulous Christmas lunch. The food was all homemade, beautifully cooked and served hot. The main courses were accompanied by a good selection of fresh vegetables and the portions are generous. The homemade desserts were all delicious especially the Baileys cheesecake!

We had our end of term meal here for our adult singing group and, as per all past years, it was absolutely delicious, all served together nice and hot. Even though we had chosen different meals beforehand, nobody was kept waiting. Vegetables were also delicious, nothing soggy, with a good variety. I cannot recommend this eating place highly enough.

Went with friends to the Parlour today 5th Dec for Christmas set lunch menu. My starter was Smoked Salmon with celeriac remoulade which was superb. Followed by Turkey with all the trimmings and a wonderful selection of vegetables. Dessert I chose the Clementine and lemon tart and vanilla ice cream. All in all a really wonderful meal cooked by an extremely tallented Chef. Thank you to all the staff for a truly wonderful lunch. Denny Hart.

Four of us friends, have just had a wonderful Christmas Lunch at the Parlour Birchington. We had pre-booked as this restaurant is always busy. I had Crispy Tempura Prawns, with cranberry, lime and sweet chilli dip, served with dressed leaves, wonderful! Main was Traditional Roast Turkey, pigs in blankets, cranberry tart, Roast Potatoes, plenty of veg, and lovely gravy, all delicious. Dessert for me was the Traditional Christmas pudding, with Brandy sauce and ice cream. We all thought the food was delicious, and well presented. Big thank you to a the Staff. Will return soon.

This was one of the best meals we have ever had, we had their Christmas 3 course meal. Exceptional value for money but the food was of high quality. A highlight was the slow cooked brogdale shoulder of pork with crackling, just delicious. Also the baileys cheesecake… scrumptious as was the lemon tart. Would really recommend this restaurant and we will be back. Thank you.

We were staying in the area and had two breakfasts at the Parlour. The waitress was very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. The menu is quite varied. My husband had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast which he said was delicious. In fact he had the same on the second breakfast. I had the most delicious granola with yoghurt and berries which was an extremely generous portion. The coffees also were good. It is definitely a place we would visit when we next return to Birchington. Friendly staff and comfortable seating.

I'd arranged to meet a friend of mine, originally for breakfast, but she then requested a later time so we could eat and have one of her friends join us at midday. I was a few minutes earlier than 11.30, but sadly discovered it was the end of breakfast service. My friend having already arrived. They offered to squeeze us in but my friend replied she was happy to wait until lunch at midday. We sat in the sunniest spot in the garden, not my favourite place, as I don't do wasps or heat, but nice enough once parasols were erected. While we waited for midday and her friend to arrive, I had a lovely pot of tea with extra water. Her friend arrived early and we ordered. The menu, plus specials board, was scrummy lots of healthy dishes, including vegetarian, fish, and something for the meat eaters too. Her friend ordered a starter; Crisp tempura prawns with Asian salad, served with fresh lime and sweet chilli. He had the steak and ale pie for main, with potatoes, veggies and jug of gravy. My friend being gluten-free had specific requirements which the staff managed without batting an eyelid. The same for me, when I choose two items from two different dishes. They took our requests in their stride and are an asset to the business, remaining calm and obliging. Every dish arrived immaculately presented. We all agreed the food was of a high standard and cooked to perfection. I couldn't fault my lovely salmon and herb fishcakes, nor sauté potatoes. Likewise, my friend's cod fillet looked amazing, cooked precisely as it should be. The pie looked good too, and must have been because her friend cleared his entire plate. I will definiately be coming back to The Parlour, now I know it presents scrummy food. A quality chef works here, make no mistake.

The best home cooked food that I've ever tasted in a restaurant. It's as good as my mum's and she's a very, very good cook. We will certainly be back for more next summer. Unfortunately I don't live in Birchington anymore. If I did I would go once a week.

Had a fabulous Lunch at The Parlour, Birchington today.We booked in advance, so not to be disappointed, because this is very popular place.I had the Scampi, which comes with chips and salad, and homemade Tartare Sauce. My wife had the Pan fried loin of Cod with vegetables and new potatoes, also with Tartare sauce. Both meals were delicious, we also had cold drinks which were very refreshing. Having very recently moved here, we were delighted to find this excellent cafe/restaurant. Breakfast today was excellent. Have also eaten lunch here and the service, the food and the prices are really first class. Well done! On sunny days, the garden seating area is brilliant!

Tuesday 25th May we called at the Parlour for lunch. My wife chose seabass risotto and myself a fish pie. Both dishes must have been made from the catch of the day, they were superb, well presented, and served by friendly helpful staff so it's 10 out of 10 for the parlour and we will be rushing back.

Well presented cafe in the 1950s style. Excellent home cooked food full of flavour and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return.

We went to The Parlour for lunch with some local friends who reckoned it served the best food around. The setting is nothing fancy - very much like a traditional café in a corner shop. Everyone is very friendly and the food is certainly very good. We opted for the fish pie and steak/suet pudding, both of which were excellent with a good portion of fresh veg to complement the meal. The beers available were limited but nice local bottled beer was available.

Called on the off chance of lunch, fitted us in and what an amazing sea bass lunch.Having had sea bass in probably most restaurants in Kent, from high end fish restaurants to small individual owned. Not only that, but they served Campari ! Something that even the chain restaurants don’t do. This was undoubtedly the best tasting and value for money we have ever had. Will definitely be on our list for regular lunches.Can’t praise them enough.

This is a great venue for lunch - very good food, always well-cooked, and with excellent service. We have visited numerous times for lunch over the past two or three years and it has never disappointed. The menu choices are all old favourites and always consistently well-cooked, plus there are daily specials. Vegetables fresh, and the important things which are often skimped like hot tasty gravy and properly roasted potatoes are always good. There is usually a fish choice and a pie amongst the daily specials which have always been great, and portions are generous. The wine/beer/drinks all reasonably priced too. The ambience is friendly and the whole place has a relaxed retro feel, which is a tribute to the owners (I think they are the lady who does the front of house and her partner is the chef. Cannot fault the place. But note - they do not accept card payment, so go with cash.

Delicious breakfast. Not greasy. Vegetarian option great! Also traditional lunches delicious. Regular favourite!

Visited for a lunch with friends.We had pre ordered our food as they kindly fitted us in for lunch.The food was all home made and excellent 3 of us had venison pie full of meat and great flavour.The staff were lovely and did not hurry us despite us still beening there at closing time.A very enjoyable meal

My friend & I booked for Christmas Lunch and I’m so glad we did, food was fabulous.I had baked mushroom in Stilton cream for starter, pork shoulder with crackling, roast potatoes and a wonderful array of fresh steamed veggies, Brussels/Savoy cabbage/carrots/broccoli and homemade gravy.For dessert a beautiful slice of clementine tart with cream, it was so zesty and fresh and the flavour popped on the palette followed by coffee and chocolate mints.The food here is so tasteful and fresh, you can tell what a talented chef has prepared it, all homemade and organic where possible.We will be returning again soon.

This was the best breakfast we have had in a long time. I had a bacon sandwich and it was delicious, not greasy, and in a divine brioche bun. The full English and the vegetarian breakfast both looked lovely and the bubble and squeak was especially tasty. Service was excellent and we are definitely coming back. Firstly , I was upset with the way the staff dealt with me ( I was in my work overalls , clean , but obviously a worker) although the cafe was virtually empty i was put by the toilet, instead ot a nice window seat. However the food made up for the treatment, a full english made up of good locally sourced products, the sausage in particular was meaty, a delight. Not the cheapest breakfast i have ever had and it should have come with a cup of tea in the price, but it did taste nice. Toilets as it turned out were clean and a credit to the establishment

Typical lunch fare and nice ice cream. Unfortunately the original owner, who was an Italian, used to make his own delicious ice cream next door - in what is used currently as a health club. Since he has passed away there is still good ice cream but not quite what I remember from my childhood!

In Birchington for the weekend and found this on TA. Glad we visited. Quaint little place, nicely decorated. Clearly popular with local people too as it seemed many 'regulars' came in. Partner and I both had a sandwich. Really nice bread, plenty of filling. If I was local I would be going back.

We "only" had the cheese and red onion sandwich; the granary bread is the best, also thick cheese and the side salad, not messed up by mayonnaise.Quick and efficient service and the green tea comes in a pot. Lovely.

Had lunch on Thursday 07.02.2019 with former colleague from Middle East. He was delighted with his meal of Steak Pie and was still talking about when he left during afternoon. Stated it was the best one he could remember eating. Great atmosphere in Parlour and food/service of highest standard and maintained every visit. Many thanks again.

Would have given you a five star if there had been more than one main vegetarian option, and there was nothing on the specials board.This TA listing actually mentions vegan friendly but i saw nothing that was. Im sure you would DO something vegan if asked but i think it is much nicer if you can include an option on the main menu without making them feel Special and the neccesity to ask ,especially nowadays. The goats cheese tart was, however beautifully cooked and it all tasted very fresh. I can see why it is no 1 on the Birchington list.

Fabuolus lunch. Home grown, home cooked, good wholesome food. Nothing processed here! The chef is the owner and puts in extra effort to make wonderful authentic food. Glen and Kelly run a fabuolus restaurant. Well worth a visit.

I have been there 3 or 4 times and every meal that we ordered was wonderful. There is a good selection of hot and cold foods and the food is piping hot, fresh vegetables, plenty of meat that is so tender. I ordered the crumble and custard, which was delicious.
