The Park Monton in Salford

I recently visited the park and was left with a sour taste in my mouth—quite literally. The atmosphere felt more like a high-pressure sales pitch than a relaxing pub experience. The owner made it a point to check in on every table, but instead of ensuring we were enjoying our time, he was more focused on pushing drinks. I was particularly taken aback when he singled out my friend for only ordering water. He called him "special" and insisted he should buy a drink, which felt rude and unnecessary. It's baffling to think that someone paying 3k a month in rent would take out their frustrations on customers who just want to enjoy watching a game of football. Others around us also left the pub after hearing the owner speak to us in such a manner. Very unprofessional behaviour Overall, I left feeling more like a wallet than a patron. If you're looking for a place to unwind without being pressured to buy, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Landlords an absolute joey! Tight as cramp won’t let you drink water in his pub when you’re driving just to line his pockets even when the rest of the table have a drink! Moans about rent then gets aggressive if you refuse to buy a drink.No wonder it’s empty landlord has driven them all out with absolute greed!

Door staff will not be happy until the place is empty and closed down. Clueless. What a shame

Bouncer on the door checking bags, busy day as it was the Charity Shield. Sat on the front after the match and a group if girls were smoking pot, dealt with by the door staff with ease. Good to be in a safe place.

I didn't have food, just a few drinks with friends, was really nice even because wasn't busy , was during the week in the afternoon.

This is a great spot for some battered fish and chips…sorry i mean to get battered whilst you’re eating fish and chips. Security would probably make more money amateur boxing because there’s clearly some unresolved trauma he feels the need to dump on customers, physically. If I for whatever reason ever return here again, I might struggle to eat my fish and chips with a mouth guard in. Good day.

Literally got assaulted by the black bouncer (Michael) and it led to a four month investigation and cover-up from Joseph Holt’s so I’d avoid

Fantastic friendly normal pub, great staff and very well run. Great for sport TV and brilliant choice of beers. Best in monton, 👍👍👍🍺🍺

The service is slow and the staff are clearly unhappy. The doormen are overly aggressive with the customers and don’t display their licenses, as required by law.

Had some great Saturday night's here, landlord friendly,staff friendly and we have always found door staff friendly, any trouble seems to be dealt with quickly,discreetly and always professionally. Seen many changes in Monton over the years and it's now the place to go with trendy bars and restaurants that come and go, but tha Park has stood the test of time. Our favourite pub in Monton.

I've gotta give a huge shoutout to these two amazing bouncers I met during the city'sfootball match at Joseph Holt brewery! One was Asian, the other Black, and let me tell you, they were absolute gems. Despite the growing crowd, they managed the crowd like pros and they even scored us a table for me, my wife and our 8-month-old baby so we could enjoy the match in peace. Huge thanks to them.

The refurbishment has certainly improved the pub.

The door staff are bullies awful. Didn't even have Sia Badges on. One went to punch me and tried following me home

Passive aggressive landlord who kept coming over to the table next to us and telling them they weren’t allowed to order one tap water for the designated driver for the group. Complaining how much he pays for rent for punters to come in and not drink. No wonder the place was empty. Won’t be coming back. *

Busy as the football and rugby was on.

Expected it to be packed, but fairly quiet.

Parked for 20 minutes to go inside, had one drink and left. 3 weeks later have a PCN notice come through the door for £60, complete joke.

Needed more staff on Christmas eve. They have extended the pub but not the bar, so there was massive queue to get a drink. Need to sort something out to improve bar service now pub is bigger.

Brilliant pub I think the prices are fair considering the quality of the venue. I believe its had an extension to the building not long ago. I called in on a Saturday afternoon and I have to say all that staff were absolutely great fast service and always on hand to make sure everything was ok. I will definitely be calling there again. Highly recommended.

The Landlord and Landlady are brilliant people, My Dad is a friend of them both being a landlord himself, Ive known them a while and I bet my grandparents before I did, Place has only gotten better over the years beers are nicely priced and it's always a great place to come and cool down before home some nights.

Great pub, but like all Joseph Holts pubs, a tad pricey.

Great atmosphere for football matches, staff are polite, good service, have parking optipns (if you are not drinking) don't drink and drive.

Was a lively place with lets say 'different' characters. Think of it as a weatherspoons type of establishment.

Would have avoided if I’d bave known it was a Joseph Holt pub. First walked in to the smell of an old working men’s club, like ale had been soaked into the carpets for many years. Queued up for the bar, because that’s what decent people do, and after waiting for about 5 minutes? some 40-year-old cut straight in front of me, which he seemed pretty proud of. Left after that. Seemed the staff were pretty pally with their clientel, which, though is a good thing- I was clearly in the queue and this was recognised by the staff on the bar and they still weren’t botherd. Queue cutters ruin pubs.

Brilliant singer on last Saturday. Fantastic voice, and even though we were dancing around her, she kept her composure. Lovely bar staff, great place

Rather annoyed after going in for a friend's birthday, entered registration on screen at bar and still got a parking ticket... Went in to be told "nothing we can do"!. Fuming...

If you drink in Monton, the Park is a must. Credit to Joel behind the bar, who is always attentive and friendly

Bar Staff are spot on considering how busy it can get.. well played to them.. Good atmosphere aswell but the bouncers are very rude and aggressive which makes it uncomfortable.. they are given too much authority which goes to there head.. you can tell when you go.. try it and you will see...

Called in for a quick coffee on a dog walk quite impressed with how well stocked the bar was friendly staff and customers will be back soon to sample something a bit stronger than coffee.

Went in for a quick drink after my birthday meal, we had a sealed box with left over pizza and the second I walked through the door a young rude male member of staff dressed in joggers shouted no. You’re not bringing that in here. Me and my family stood still shocked, fair enough if we were all young, drunk and eating it but we just walked through the door with the box sealed. I then asked if there was somewhere I could put it as I just wanted a drink for my birthday. He aggressively shouted no and didn’t even give us a second to explain we were happy to put it even behind the bar if need be. Could not get over the rudeness of this person. Even the other customers looked shocked and were confused about his behaviour and came out to see if we were okay afterwards. Will never come in again. Avoid. Left a really sour impression on the night that was meant to be celebrating

Quiet on the day but beer was in good form!

It's great for a drink in nice outside area, but if you're looking to eat, no menu, expect just heated pasties.

Very loud & busy but the racing was on TV but we got a table and the sun was out and the cider was cool, happy days.

Local beer for local people. Honest, friendly atmosphere and a bastion of traditional pub values in a sea of pretentious hipster bars!

A decent pint, but. There were quite a few idiots in the place. A couple of loud pillocks who without knowing it were hell bent on annoying everyone else. Then there were some suited blokes who were several drinks beyond drunk, one of whom fell of his chair several times if there had been someone in charge instead of there being just two teenagers behind the bar, they would have been refused service long before they stumbled out, almost colliding with two women as they went. Not a good adcert

Not impressed....park my car in car park....got a park fine of £60 today.....saying I've park and on private land.....very sly way of making money out of genuine customers.....paid fine!!!!!......you can be asure that I won't be spending any of my money in that place again.... ever!!!....carnt add any more comments as I don't wish to offend anyone...bye.x
