This place is so not worth the money charged. 464.00 original price for a family room for 2 nights. Neice was having wedding there. No communication. We were served butter and no rolls. Had to ask a few times people had finished there starter before I could get them. I wa Ted icecream for sweet, had told staff not a problem. But they then forgot me all together Nd had to ask 3 times again. The wedding party had all finished there desert. Since coming home I have contacted hotel now twice as was looking for my necklace. Even though have been promised twice now for a phone call this has still not happened. Staff are friendly enough but communication is absolutely awful. Bedrooms are clean very outdated. Wall paper coming off and marks of presumably coffee on wall..

Prior to trip on Light train at Xmas treated ourselves to overnight stay with dinner. Invited a friend along for dinner.restaurant was Very well furnished but when the food arrived it was very poor embarrassing so.

We have booked and held our guild annual Christmas party at the palace and have always enjoyed it. This year was so disappointing the food was cold, potatoes hard like bullets and the vegetables were raw. At £29.50 a head to say our members were shocked was an understatement. We asked to speak with the manager but he refused to speak with us and sent another lady over, who may have been assistant manager ? But was working on reception. On complaining and trying to show our dissatisfaction we were advised we will just keep your deposit so you don’t have to pay anything else . We were not even offered a free round of drinks just tea and coffee which were already included in the meal . They sent the deserts out which again were cold and were sent back. So we won’t be using the palace again. To be honest we were the only Christmas party there that day and the poor quality of food we honestly don’t think they had any chefs on duty that day. A waste of £75.00 and a ruined Christmas party for our guild.

Chefe Samir, Gomal and the team always create lovely meals and present them with a smile. Love the Mamlouk and the Asian Restaurant. Always visit at least twice on each visit.

We have stayed here several times over the years it’s very clean and tidy.the food is excellent & all the staff are friendly and helpful.

We had two breakfasts and two dinners here whilst staying in the hotel for a couple of nights. Everything was excellent and really good value. There was a great choice for breakfast with continental items laid out to self-serve and cooked food, toast & tea/coffee brought to the table. The dinner consisted of starter, sorbet, main, dessert plus tea or coffee (which can be served in the lounge). The service was impeccable and the staff were very friendly & efficient.

We enjoyed a 3 day stay with dinner, bed and breakfast, all food and service very good, nothing to fault.

Good portion sizes, lovely and hot with a good choice. Restaurant Staff were lovely, so helpful with nothing too much trouble.

Food good, but staff lack training due to a poor Restaurant Manager. He just didn't have much shape about him.

The prawn linguini we had there is soooo delicious! Would order it over and over again.. Their desserts are also amazing.

Cheesiest vegetable lasagne I have ever eaten. I'm not attaching a value to that, just stating it as a fact.

We were a party of 6 and had a fabulous meal at the Paris restaurant tonight. Staff were excellent and a special mention to Paul who provided impeccable service. At £25 for a 5 course set menu, was absolutely brilliant value. Would definitely recommend, make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Just been to the palace as treat....will certainly go again. Everything from the rooms to the food, atmoshere, staff etc made it a lovely stay and at a very reasonable price. All covid restrictions were dealt with in a clear but not overwhelming manner and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious and as I had told them I needed gluten free this was already dealt with and our meals were made even more special by Paul, our delightful waiter. Our rooms were clean, spacious and with a super view of the sea front... which was also a good walk before breakfast. Will definately be visiting again!

Booked this at very short notice, subsequently very pleased. Beautiful location, within minutes of the sea front and pier and ten to the town centre. Our bedroom was lovely with views overlooking the sea front and 3 cruise ships moored in the bay. The hotel was very clean with all covid restrictions in place which is very reassuring under the present conditions. The restaurant was very pleasant with waiter service and an excellent choice of food, the staff being very attentive. The only drawback is Paignton town centre which is very rundown. full of fruit machine arcades, not very inviting. However there are many places to visit such as Torquay, Brixham and Dartmouth all within easy reach by car. To summarise, will definitely stay at this hotel again. .

If you are staying half board don't eat lunch. Evening meals are lovely and more than enough for a normal appetite.

Visited Paignton for the large BMAD festival on the green in front of the Palace Hotel. Very comfy bed, old style dining and sitting rooms. Breakfast was tasty. Ample parking spaces. Many pubs and restaraunt just up the road a little.

The restaurant Manager Sue is brilliant and is so helpful and friendly. The food cannot be faulted and the service is excellent. The restaurant itself is a pleasure to be in and we like the décor.

La comida es comida básica en inglés con un montón de hortalizas de lado si pides el prix fix comida. Ir a París es como retroceder en el tiempo a los años 50 o 60 es cuando Torbay era un complejo de alta calidad junto al mar. Tiene un ambiente tranquilo y tenue y se siente como un antiguo restaurante europeo. Como estadounidenses, disfrutamos de la experiencia. Excelente servicio, también.

Luego ha fallado. Mariscos risotto sosa y sosa. Hecho en su mayoría con arroz y congelados langostinos. Mi marido había un bistec. La mano ordenados cut chips que nunca llegó. Los camareros nos ofrecieron tanto patatas asadas y verduras variadas como acompañamientos. No es apropiado para cualquier comida.En el lado positivo el personal era amable y servicial.

Cenamos como un grupo de 6 y en general todos los aperitivos estaban mal (promedio). Los platos principales sin embargo estaban por debajo de la media en la mayoría de cosas.Lo peor de todo era la solla europea que llegamos un poco seco y recocido y era increíblemente más pequeño que los otros comensales porciones que todos nos vimos llegar antes esa noche.Cuando hablamos de la directora sobre el pescado (antes estaba terminado) ella intentamos decir que sirvieron a todos el mismo esa noche. (no es verdad). Nos dijeron que era la última porción disponible esa noche. Lo único que salvó la noche fue el buen servicio de los más jóvenes camareras trabajaba esa noche. Cuando nos había acabado de comer, pedí ver la directora nuevamente y pedí un subsidio para la solla comida insatisfactoria y accedió a esto. Cuando la factura final llegó, que era de 200 libras para todos 6 ella tenía bajó sólo 3 libras por lo malo comida (whoosh! ). ni siquiera nos molestamos en continuar el problema más así que pagamos en su totalidad y a la izquierda una propina (espero que los 2 camareras te una cuota por su buen servicio y la interacción). También en mis dos visitas anteriores aquí el servicio de la recepción era muy servicial y informativo. Espero que los miembros más jóvenes del personal sigan trabajando.
