Always a nice place to visit after a circular walk with the pooch. Nice friendly staff as well which always adds to the experience

Got a nice selection of drinks. Few lagers and Ales and ciders on tap. No food made other than bar snacks that you can buy. Local pub with a local vibe but everyone is friendly. Outside is spacious, you can also take plastic cups for outside on the huge darley park

Such a welcoming place.. The staff are fantastic.. The locals are very friendly... And dogs are welcome too with a fantastic dog walking fields opposite !! A place I will always visit when in the area xx

The website sut said open but it was closed

Very very disappointed, we used this pub loads last year on our skate route. Arrived last night at 8.30pm to be told "we can't serve you we are closed" You've now lost 20 drinkers every Wednesday night!

We had a wedding there it was spot on drink was cheap and a good veriety, landlord and landlady were superb definitely go again

Great local atmosphere with very attentive staff. You are truly in a local pub when you come to The Papermill with a great selection of draft beers and soft drinks. There is a pool table, projector and television perfect for watching live sports and other entertainment. There is outside seating and the establishment is perfectly located at the top of Darley Abbey where many local take in the local Darley Park. Dogs are welcomed. Only remark for improvement would be the outdated toilet facilities but would definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely little Free-house at the cricket ground area of Darley Park. Great selection of local ales (such as dancing duck) and ciders and they accept card/wireless. Toilets are easily accessible and it’s right next to a large open grass area so it’s great for families and people with dogs too!

Enjoyed a few drinks and rounds of pool here with my other half. I'd definitely reccomend. Staff were friendly.

First time we've been in after visiting the Abbey, feels a bit like a working man's club, decor could do with modernising. Friendly staff, and there seemed like a few people in so must be a good local for many.

5 of us had a good evening being looked after very carefully and professionally by the staff following the coronavirus rules. Great place to meet friends plus good beers at reasonable prices 👍👍👍

Lovely village pup set on the outskirts of derby. A great spot to visit after a walk on darley park ...Beer, wine etc, pool table, tv and regular live music. Well worth a visit

A Nobel effort to give the Abbey some much needed competition but be prepared to squeeze past a shabby gathering of drunk smokers to get inside. Welcoming once inside with an excellent choice of beer and ciders.

Friendly. Level access, so extremely handy from a wheelchair access perspective, including accessible toilet. Handy for popping in to during a walk around Darley Park etc.
