COSMO All You Can Eat World Buffet Restaurant | Derby in Derby

If you want to try new foods it's perfect. The staff are lovely. Only downside was people just let kids run around like it's a playground. Your carrying hot food and have to be careful that a child doesn't run into you.

I went to cosmo last weekend and unfortunately myself and my friend ended up with food poisoning! I’ve been chasing cosmo for a refund since and it’s becoming impossible to contact them!

I have a great experience visiting, the environment, the food, the customer support, all amazing. I have visited 3 times. I can’t wait to visit again.

Fantastic food and fabulous environment. It's our favorite place to dine as family. Lot varieties of food, Indian, Chinese, Italian, and many more. Tasty deserts, kids will go crazy. The only downside is the waiting time and payment. Could change the process.

The reception area was overcrowded and we had to wait for a little while to get a table. The food was okay but could do with more variety. Overall not a bad place though .

Food was lukewarm, chicken tikka masala was tasteless, no spice and watery, staff looked like they couldn’t be bothered, manager argued that we’d only paid for 7 refillable drinks when in fact it was 8 and when we had proven this there was no apology, definitely won’t be going again, spoilt a birthday celebration

The WORST place to eat in derby!! PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE! Food was awful everything was cold, staff are nothing but rude and judgemental, the MANAGER IS THE WORST ONE WHO NEED TO LEARN RESPECT! We was told we didn’t pay enough money and was refused a drink that we had paid for after 20 mins he finally realised he was in the wrong! And still no apologies from anyone! This was a birthday meal and we had to clear our own tables as staff brought out the cake without communicating with each other and was no space! Nothing but a horrible experience! I wish I could take the matter further as half of the workers don’t deserve a job with the way they act!

The food was cold and tasteless, the meat was chewy. The manager was rude and not accommodating. The floor was slippery and the tables were sticky and not clean. The whole experience was awful, and I will never return to this awful place!

The food was horror, it was cold, Im a man who will eat anything pretty much 😂 the best bit was the fresh cooked steak bit by the toilets, but one of the main bar staff was so rude I was gna say something to him but the other half would have gone mental 😂 he even came to our table and told me not to take the knife and fork off the empty table next to us when he'd took our cutlery away like Ino it's derby but bruh im not trying to eat with my hands and feet infront of a woman... 💯😂😂😂🙄🤦🏼‍♂️

I visit many cosmo restaurants and they all give that lovely blend of Asian cooking with the buffet type serving, very good value and yesterday's trip to the Derby restaurant was lovely

Loves it but it takes way to long to get a table. You need to understand people can have a tight schedule and waiting 20 mins in a line just to be told to sit down and wait for another 20 minutes is horrible get better.

First time I've been to a world buffet, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, Great tasting food, with the added bonus of refillable soft drinks if that's what you prefer (I did as I don't drink) plenty of other choice of alcoholic drinks are available. Had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, but we were a little early. All in all, it was a great experience

You know what? It's probably harsh, but that's the sad thing about a 5-star system. The food is bang average. Definite case of quantity over quality. Stick to what you're good at. You're not good at roast dinner. You're not good at sushi. You're not good at pizza. The Chinese and Indian dishes are reasonable. Tasty. Service is brief and businesslike. No interaction. It's like many chain places. You get what you pay for, and you know what to expect. Adjust your expectation.

We'd not dined here for a few years. Today sadly the place has changed. You now pay on entry. The food was possibly warm but the selection was mediocre. And their amazing dessert section has shrunk to shop bought cakes and kids ice cream. Extremely disappointed. It maybe a few years before we come again.

Disgrace, absolutely the worst buffet I've ever been 2 had a bad experience. I would never go back to ever, not even if u paid me. The manager was rude I went in with my family and 3 people r vegetarian, we rang ahead and booked and the staff on the phone said that they had a variety of veg food, but when we got their food was cold I could continue for a hour just not worth it,don't waste your money there

Table booked for tonight Awful food all curry's meals was waterd down and tasted of nothing will never go again after and I've been a few times but not been for a year everyone said it been like this for a while don't bother cost 100 quid and came home hungry and could of got a better meal at wing wah for half the price or hickorys for same price and its amazing

Went for a teenagers birthday meal, really good atmosphere, we booked ahead and would recommend booking in advance to guarantee your table. Staff were friendly, food was plentiful and varied. They catered well for all diets and allergens were clearly labeled. We had a great time and enjoyed the fact that the drinks were refillable and that the food was regularly replenished.

Had a lovely birthday meal. Staff were very efficient and worked hard. Whilst everything was nice I wasn't blown away. The kids loved it and as a treat it was worth it but I wouldn't rush back as its a little on the expensive side for us and dosnt really have the wow factor to match the cost. Pleasant experience and nice staff .

The food was spectacular, the customer service received from the staff was exceptional. There is one criticism, there is not a huge selection of food in the Italian section, it'd be nice if there was more of a variety. Nevertheless, we will be returning.

Had food here yesterday and was up all night with diarrhea and sickness. Great service but the food was diabolical. Avoid this place.

Amazing amazing, amazing we were up from Cornwall going Alton Towers and had a friend suggested trying this place. We came away very fat and very full all the food was warm and tasty.

As soon as we walked in, there was a scafufle between a member of staff and another family, which involved police. As soon as we were shown to our seats ,we were asked to pay in advance. I immediately felt like we were in an establishment that was dodgy. We asked for a jug of water with no ice and we were given a jug of water loaded with ice. The toilets were very clean. Some dishes were warm and some were cold. The food tasted meh...there was not a single dish that tasted memorable. Desert area was a bit messy, one of the icecream machines churned out melted icecream. Overall, it wouldn't be my first choice of places to eat.

Not visited Comos (Derby) for quite a number of years, this place used to be HUGE with a HUGE selection of food, admittedly we attended for the lunch session, but the choice of food was nowhere near what I remembered and the seating area had shrunk. That being said staff friendly and the food was good, just not enough selection

First time I'd been here couldn't believe how many different options there was to choose from. Chinese, Indian and Sunday roast and a large desserts selection too. Reasonably priced at £21.99 for adults and kids was £10.99, kids could have exactly what the adults had. Was on holiday in Derby wish we had one of these near me.

Food good but not great. Some containers not being topped up. Floors not being kept clean. Children using the place as a playground and actually running all over but not to any bother of anyone who worked there? Wouldn't go back.

The restaurant was clean and tidy. The staff were nice but not exactly friendly. The child pricing policy was strange ( children taller than 155cm charged adult price) my 11yr old daughter charged the adult price. There was lots of variety for food, but food could have been hotter. My food was warm at best. The children enjoyed themselves, which was the main thing, but I'm not sure if I would go again 🤔

It’s a pity that I have to leave a comment like this. Allow me to use my native language so that I can be more articulate. Summary: I need to tell the truth it is bad, don’t come here, it is such a disappointment. My friends and my mother and I were looking forward to going to this award-winning all-you-can-eat restaurant that boasts cuisine from all over the world. It’s really hard to explain. None of the food is of normal and appropriate heat. Most of it is lukewarm. Let’s just say that the one at the front of the door is waiting in line for food. The beef is so hot that it’s like chewing rubber. The salmon was overcooked and the squid was overcooked. The fried food is fried to the crispness of biscuits. The chicken and fish cakes are thickly powdered and taste tender but average. The Yorkshire pudding, a local British food, is extremely unpalatable. I pour the gravy sauce on it with joy, and after one bite, it is "super watery" and tasteless. The pork was even more frightening. When I bit into it, I was hit by a strong, smelly and raw smell of pig mutton (it really scared the three of us). The beef in other courses is quite poor. The sweetness of braised pork belly is not the sweetness that Chinese style should have. The white sauce noodles in pasta are basically cooked noodles, and the white sauce is more like a tasteless batter sauce... (The name of the dish is marked Mac and cheese) How can this thing not be cooked well? Let’s talk about other fried rice. Each one is a lump of rice. How come Thai long rice is cooked into a lump? Fried rice is cooked with sauce until it is wet. Let’s talk about the curry-flavored fried rice, which has no curry or turmeric flavor at all. Japanese sushi vinegar rice is very sticky, not as sticky as it should be. If you look closely, it looks like mushy rice. The popsicles are super hard Wannianbing combined with the flavor of pigmented cold syrup potion. We almost didn't dare to try the dessert section. The sauce on top of the chocolate pudding was so sweet, and the cake underneath felt like a package of ready-to-bake DIY products from supermarkets outside. The mango, chocolate, and strawberry mini cheeses are the tastiest among them. In short, after we finished eating, we suspected that we had eaten a cheap all you can eat meal, but in fact it was not the case. There was a long queue at this restaurant, reservations were required, and it had won awards. My comments toward the food is authentic and real, I can’t believe so few of the customers feel the same as us. However, I feel like I need to let people have this information ahead before they make sure they want to try it.

I have visited Cosmo All You Can Eat in Derby several times, and I absolutely love the atmosphere. The teppanyaki section is my favourite, along with the grill and desserts. The place is always clean, with plenty of staff readily available to clear dirty plates. There is an impressive variety of dishes to choose from, ensuring that everyone can find something to enjoy. I highly recommend the custard buns, teppanyaki beef, squid, salmon, and grilled chicken sticks. Anyone visiting here is sure to have a wonderful time.

The mains were okay, though the salad is very limited (not even lettuce available). The desserts were poor, both variety and quality. Something to note regarding cost/service, there's a discretionary 3% service charge included which isn't mentioned when paying, and is poorly advertised.

Great food both times I've been. However we came towards closing last time we arrived. We had a waiter constantly coming over which was a bit off putting. We knew the time we had to eat. Other than that it's got some really nice food. Will definitely be going back

Lovely place to dine with family do mini event and all sort nice and pretty staffs always serving right with great smile. This place could be so filled with pple though fun actually.

Staff was very polite and interacted with my kids gave them high 5 ect. Especially SID he is so friendly and kind always plays with my children Food was very good tasted as it should. They also have new vegetarian meals such as mushroom and veg masala and spegetti with tomato sauce with veg.

Food was all cold (don’t expect it to be hot but Luke warm would be nice). Could tell food had been sat there for a while as it looked old and stale and the pasta was disgusting and stone cold. Complained and all we got was a free drink voucher? For 20 quid a head it’s not worth it

Not a very inspiring building from the outside, but inside it was superb, I thought the lighting was inspired and everything in there was beautifully laid out. This must be a very challenging thing for you to do,all the different foods to keep hot, you must need plenty of staff with experience too,I was thinking initially of four stars but your staff were so helpful and worked so hard you deserve the best possible rating.🙏

It's an all you can eat buffet for just under £25 but the food is precooked and warmed up then put in a keep warm there is no considerations to anyone with allergies everything is cross contaminated from fish to wheat. Its fizy drinks, beer and wine you can't even get a glass of water because the glasses can be used for the bottomless offers. There is no freshness to the food its precooked and tastes like it came out of a baked bean tin its not freshly cooked at all however, if you like flame grilled Mexican dishes including flame grilled fish etc that's cooked fresh on the line but that's where it ends. Don't use this place as a restaurant consider it a junk food outlet if you want to compete for hiw much bad stuff you can eat but you better not have any alergies.

Had a GREAT evening celebrating a friends 50th birthday here at Cosmo on Friday evening. The food quality was excellent. The staff were fantastic. So polite and couldn’t do enough for you. The restaurant and buffet was spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend ! Thank you Cosmo

As can be expected for an all you can eat. The wait felt like ages though despite plenty of empty tables when we got seated. Lovely variety of food and it felt fresh.

I will never coming bk to this place came all the way from Nottingham for my sisters birthday . The food was disgusting then we had to sit in the dark so we moved table witch we got told off for I had only got mu 2nd plate of food and was get houded to pay the bill when we was all eating ,, wouldn't waste your money !!!!

Came to cosmos today 24th June at 7:15pm there was 4 of us and " Saurav " was amazing and he was so attentive and kind and he was so fast at his job and he was working under extreme pressure and serving us and it was like he had 10 pairs of hands doing so much at once and Goh he was very welcoming to us and showed us so much attention and made us feel so wanted and we felt like VIPS and we all left so happy and I had to leave this positive review for Saurav and GOH both are a blessing to Cosmos Thank you so much both of you for all your endless hard work and for the beautiful heavenly food and we will see you again in a month

Cosmos Derby is a great favourite for us and well worth travelling to its still reasonably well priced compared to some all you can eats, and the food quality and choice is well worth it, and you can keep the prices down by having the good old bottomless drinks, excellent service, only thing that spoiled it was there's now a time limit of how long they would like you to be there specified on your table, so if you happen to be abit late, less time to eat.

it's a nice atmosphere, but the food is average, it can be better. if you're hungry go there, you'll like it.
