Staying in the area for a couple of nights and was looking for somewhere I could get some food, but was also dog friendly. Lots of phone calls and nothing, then came across this little gem. Phoned prior to visiting. Given the green light for dog friendly, and also willing to make food too (it was an odd time, gone past lunch but not quite dinner). Got there, the owner/s were very welcoming and friendly. Good selection of foods on their menu and I feel was very reasonably priced. Tasted lovely too.

The staff were very friendly, the ticket process worked well and the carvery was plentiful and delicious. The beer was cold and the coffee hot. There were 3 of us in the party, both men had a regular portion and my wife had a small portion which was more than enough for each of us. We will definitely go again either for a carvery or some other meal, as we noticed they do breakfasts of various sizes at what appear fair prices.

Me and my husband have just had a lovely meal tonight at the Packet Inn. Serlion steak was lovely well presented. Husband had half roast chicken that he really enjoyed too. We had a pudding too . I was impressed to find gluten free chocolate cake on the menu 😋 it was delicious. The young waitress who took care of us from the start was very nice . We sat in the conservatory over looking the river . Lovely relaxing spot and bonus to watch the planes fly by. I would recommend a visit here if your stopping at tattersall park and looking for a reasonable priced meal and drink . We certainly will be returning. Thank you so much .

We booked a table for 6 @ 12.15 and greeted by a “take your shoes off” sign (not by the staff) right on the door, we then sat down we ordered soft drinks witch by the was flat, and £17+ was very over expensive, so when we was waiting to order the lady came over and said “Im going to have to take the other party booking as you was 5 mins late” (witch was our fault) but it was dead and 3 members of staff on not really doing much, quite easy taking a order right? Witch are rude staff making snide comments amongst them selfs about us! So by that stage we felt really up welcomed so we payed for the drinks and left and chosen somewhere else to eat.!!!

Four of us to be told their are no tables left in an empty room apart from us .they made us feel disgusted by the way she talked to us ,we immediately left never to return .we have had wonderful Sunday lunches there but no more manners and politeness cost nothing, she was also rude to a family on the pool table I felt sorry for them too

Stayed in the local water side apartment and decided to visit this pub for Sunday lunch 19th. May 2019. food was very hot, perfectly cooked and a separate very hot jug of gravy. we booked a table up front having visited on the previous night for a drink. ,no Karaoke as advertised but maybe due to not many in, but a nice feel to the place, two young girls behind the bar very hard working and very pleasant , a nice established pub with home made food and very clean, nice to see the staff using industrial cleaning agents to kill off any germs when wiping tables etc. The laid back landlord convinced us to try the Sunday night bingo and glad we did as my wife won a house £22 so made it the perfect night, good luck to the Packet Inn and keep up the good work. We popped in for a bite to eat, was on holiday and the pub was local. When we walked in we asked the lady serving at the bar if it was ok to sit here and eat, she just say "Yeah" no customer service had all....no menu's was placed on the tables so my partner when to the bar, the rude woman Totally blanked him and served another lady who had just come over! 15 minutes later he finally got a menu. We was looking at the menu when the rude woman shouted over And said basically if you are ordering food you will have to wait because I've got a big table in and they have booked...we said yes thats fine, went over to order the food (new we would have to wait but didnt mind)to be told we can't order yet and somebody will come over soon to take it. We sat waiting for 15 minutes and in the end left. Very un welcoming and very rude! She shouldn't be working with the general public...

We arrived at the Packet Inn at around 1pm. We ordered drinks at the bar - the lady who served us wasn't over friendly, she didn't even ask if I would like ice in my J20. We sat in the conservatory, but found it too warm, so we moved outside. The lady asked if we had decided what we would like to eat - we hadn't even had chance to look at the menu. Within two minutes she asked again, this time sounding very impatient, so we ordered seafood platter. The food was extremely disappointing, the meal was mostly chips with a few bits of over fried, cheap quality fish in breadcrumbs, obviously low priced freezer food. We thought this was terrible for the price of ten pounds ninety five pence for each meal. The pub was almost empty and felt very unfriendly, it was if this particular lady didn't want customers. We felt very let down. Our bill came to thirty one pounds and we didn't even get a thank you, we certainly will not be returning. We didn't complain, as we were out for a nice day, so didn't want the upset.

Mick and Heather, the host and hostess were really welcoming and showed us all the recent work they had done. The Packet Inn is in a great location on the banks of the river Witham, and has a great garden at the back to enjoy the scenery in the summer. We visited in the autumn for a meal, taking advantage of the fact that motorhomes can park overnight. The staff were welcoming and friendly. There is a wide range of food, which can best be described as generous. I had the 'standard' missed grill which advertised a 5oz beef and lamb steak but I'm sure that was more of a minimum than a typical, mine looked much bigger. The food was tasty and well cooked. The pub advertises real ales, but this was a little disappointing as this was a more commercial style and not one of the modern independent craft brews. The one down side was perhaps the prices. This is standard no frills pub food and a lot of the dishes seemed to be a good pound or three more than I would have expected. For example my wife had a veggie curry which is very similar to a dish served by a well know chain, but was double their price. But if you like a big plate, maybe that won't bother you.

We were going to use the Canal and River Trust 48 hour mooring here at Dog Dyke to visit Coningsby and Tattershall but as we were here on a Sunday we thought we'd have a meal at the Packet Inn.We're so glad we did. The Spitfire beer was an excellent pint to start with.We chose to eat in the conservatory which is nicely decorated and overlooks the river Witham. The landlady herself brought us the menu and gave us a genuine welcome. The menu is extensive for a pub - but I didn't think my diet would be helped by the 2 lb of meat in their giant Mixed Grill or the 40 (yes forty) ounce Rump Steak. We chose Scampi and Chips - the latter were the best chips tasted for quite some time, and Thai Green Chinese Curry with Singapore noodles and Prawn Crackers - very tasty!Despite the pictures of some of the desserts looking as if they were probably bought rather than home made, they were scrummy. My apple and blackberry crumble emerged from under a very generous helping of custard and tasted home-made. The Caramel Apple Betty was also appreciated. With a landlady who checked that all was well and, once we showed an interest in the pub and river, opened up and was nicely chatty, the evening ended on a fine note. We'll certainly call in again if there's room on the mooring when were passing again.

My peppered sauce didn't taste of pepper, my steak wasn't seasoned, my husband's baked potato was microwaved and my dad's lasagne lacked depth of flavour. The menu is varied with pub grub, Chinese, Indian and Thai food. It seems the chef is a jack of all trades but a master of none.

Ate there today with 3 other family members, I can only say that the menu was excellent, the food was excellent, and the service was excellent. Food is priced reasonably, arrived hot and there was plenty of it. Could have a laugh with the landlady who was very friendly and attentive, so I am not sure what a previous customer did wrong, The place is being prepared for the summer, and had a few tools lying about, but what would you expect when things are being got ready. All in all an excellent place for a meal

We have been dining at the Packet Inn for many years on the recommendation of a local supplier who delivered there. We have never been disappointed with the food or service and would recommend the Packet Inn to everyone.

Visit to the seaside wanted fish and chips, as I'm gluten free I usually struggle. Not here have gluten free on the menu, also curry sauce. We both had regular fish and chips, mine was wrapped separately from husbands as he had normal.Great portions glad we didn't go for the large.

Had a couple of roasts today which came with free desserts. Meal was lovely, fresh, hot, just what you expect. We was really happy with that.....but....half an hour after leaving we realised we had left a bag behind. Money, cards, car keys, medication, all stuff hard to replace when on holiday. We returned to the Windsor and the lady who was serving, cleaning etc said she saw the bag as soon as we left, so put it safe behind the counter. Panic over. We can't thank you enough xxx

Can't begin to say how bad this pub was, miserable landlady and landlord and the worst food I have ever not eaten. I say not eaten as we didn't get through even a quarter of the plate of awful food we were offered. My husband said the beer was okay but please don't bother with the food it REALLY ISNT WORTH IT.

We went specifically to this venue for breakfast. We ordered different breakfasts and made some changes to one of them with the helpful counter staff. The tea in the tea pot was cold and we took it back for a replacement hot tea pot. The breakfast was brought to us by a member of staff who did not smile or speak. Having ordered extra well done bacon we were surprised to note that it certainly hadn't been even well done. The plates were cold and so was half of the breakfast, the rest of it cooling rapidly. The toast and prepacked butter were placed on the top of the breakfast and we had to use our fingers to try and get them off the top, even though there was nowhere to put them (have they never heard of side plates)? All in all, very poor. Customer care is clearly not a priority.

Visited here yesterday as we have done many times previously and i was on my VERY SMALL electric scooter (ES). It was quite busy but not full as it is fairly small inside. Myself and my scooter took up the same amount of sitting on the chair as i was situated so i didn't need to use their chair and if on a large bike this would not have been possible. However a young girl asked if i could leave my ES outside and walk in which i could not as not able to do so. I replied we have been in there previously and had never been an issue but she said the couldn't allow it when they were busy. I would not have gone in if i was going to cause an issue or restrict any of the pathways and so i felt i had to leave, which we did. However there was 3 tables occupied by approx 12 men who were blocking pathways and not eating anything and were loudly talking to each other across the tables who were who were quite clearly obstructive but seemingly that was ok !!! I am disgusted in this day and age that such discrimination persists and i will not use them again. Perhaps they need to add a sign to the windows stating people with mobility aids would not be allowed in busy periods. Totally Disgusted. LInda Halls
