Excellent food and service. The meal was freshly prepared and everything was tasty and plentiful. Nice bottle of wine and excellent desserts. Not out of the way pricewiise.

The drink selection was impressive, especially the variety of craft beers on tap. They had a good mix of local brews and popular international options, which was a pleasant surprise. The cocktails were well-crafted, and I particularly enjoyed their signature [Cocktail Name]. The only downside was that some of the drinks were a bit pricey compared to other pubs in the area, but the quality mostly justified the cost.

We had planned a nice quite meal out .. got a table for 2, yet 5 mins after our arrival a group of women (I won’t say ladies) arrived. We over heard one say to the staff as they came in “ see we said we were loud “ to say we were wishing them to be the other side of the building is an understatement, but no, table next to us.. one of the women could have commentated Wimbledon without a Mike. Then if this was not bad enough another group came in, all women.. and sat other side of us.. AND knew the 1st group.. it got to the point that we had to stop talking because it was impossible to hear ourselves think, let alone each other. Now I know people like to enjoy themselves but this is a restaurant not a pub or a bar, and was 1830 so not even time to be off your face.. even though that’s still not an excuse to be a loud. Both tables each side of us got louder and louder.. to the point that we stuffed our food down and left .. “ well I do hope both these groups had a fab eve because they ruined our’s “

I genuinely think I had the best pizza ever today and my colleague said the Ravioli was excellent. From the outside this looks like a drab old pub, not very welcoming - but what a surprise the restaurant was. Really good!

We would give Bella Vita 5 stars for their food, which is excellent, except for slightly sharp practice over their service charge. The menu says that a 10% service charge will be added for groups of six or more. We have it regularly added just for a couple dining. I also note that one is given little time in which to inspect the bill as the bill and the card machine are presented simultaneously.

We all enjoyed a delicious Italian lunch & and the birthday girl had a meal on the house! Would certainly recommend. 10/10

12 friends get together for a lunch every now & then. This was a change from our usual type of venue both in location and food choice. We were impressed by the extensive menu, which meant everyone could choose something they liked, particularly the very fussy eaters. Everyone was very happy with their meal and want to come back. The 10% tip was expected and well earned by the staff. The food was gorgeous, potions were excellent. Tony was a great host and has a good sense of humour. We look forward to our next visit. We had a pleasant evening and the food and service was good with nothing to fault. I paid my bill for 4 people plus a takeaway, however I didn't check the itemised bill until today. The menu clearly states that a gratuity is optional for parties under 6 with 10% added for 6 or more. Unfortunately this was not applied as 10% was added to the total of my bill. I accept that I should have queried it at the time and it is too late to do anything about it. Other reviews have stated that they have had the same issue. If you visit then please be aware you will be charged 10% on your bill, very underhand and unacceptable behaviour. If there is a service charge regardless of the number of diners this should be stated!!!

This Italian restaurant was a great little find. Serving the freshest of ingredients our meals were delicious. Fresh mussels, prawns and salmon linguine and a tender Spaghetti bolognaise as our main courses followed by the best Gelato ice cream, all made for a great evening. Attentive service and reasonable value for money.

Very few so called Italian restaurants in the UK are as Italian as in Italy but this is. Great to have it so close to home! Menu, quality of cooking and service - all truly Italian. Thanks Antonio.

We went here last night, having been there before covid. As a group of 12 we all met up to celebrate a friends birthday with some travelling a long distance. To start, our booking time was changed an hour or so before we were all due to meet, then as soon as we arrived with our other friends already there, we were made to feel rushed to order our food. Not to be all negative, the food was delicious. We all had starters and mains and no complaints from anyone of how good it all tasted. But by 9.30... yes 9.30 on a Saturday night , we we're being hurried and rushed to leave, being told the kitchen and bar had closed. The staff were cleaning and resetting tables around us as we were the only ones left. We were all trying to catch up and chat after not not seeing for a long time, then we were told to move from our table so it could be cleared. That was the final straw... not good enough..they had a good bill off us all as well a 10% service charge...now that's a joke.. Won't be going back ...

Ordered a takeaway. Delivery scheduled for 7:30 fo 7:50. 7:45 get a message saying order cancelled as too busy. Completely unacceptable. We had had a drink while waiting for the delivery so couldn’t go out. Will never use them again !!!!

Ordered the seafood starter X 3, had missing seafood that was stated it included on the menu, when requested was told it was not and then had to point it out to them! They obviously took offence to this and that when the service went...

Amazing Italian restaurant. We went as a family and loved it. Food is amazing especially the pizzas and meat. Lots of outside space, a bar area with TVs and sofas . And you can also get it delivered as well which is a bonus.

We are on holiday near by and just called in for dinner. We were warmly greeted by the owner and shown to a table. I asked for his recommendation for fish and he suggested the fish stew. This was absolutely lovely and reminiscent of caldeirada...

We decided to try a take away from Bella Vita, ordered about 4.30 for delivery at 6.00. The food was delivered right on time it was hot the portions were generous and the flavours and sauce were very good. We both had pasta dishes, so may try pizza next time as we will definitely be using them again. Highly recommended

We had just discovered this place and were becoming regulars as the food is great. Sadly we won’t be using them again as their delivery service really let us down. They got our Just Eat order incorrect so we phoned them and told them. The man on the phone wasn’t very friendly but said they’d have someone send the correct order out. The food arrived about 15 minutes later but again it was incorrect. I called the restaurant again but this time I asked for a refund. They said they couldn’t give us a refund and that was Just Eats responsibility! We then contacted Just eat who weren’t very helpful at all.So we ended up without the food we’d ordered and also without the money we paid for it. I’d like to mention that the lad who delivered it was brilliant, very friendly.

Nice spacious car park. Track and trace set up in lobby before entering the restaurant/pub. Hand sanitiser in the lobby too. Social distancing markers on the floor, well spaced clean tables, disposable menus, staff wearing masks. This is a well organised covid safe restaurant, very reassuring. We were served by Nino (I asked his name when we left), he was very efficient, really helpful and most welcoming too. He took our order in ideal time, even added to it for us as we decided we fancied garlic bread after we had placed our order. He brought over sauces and cheese quickly after giving us our plates, and did a perfectly timed check back. If only all waiters were as good as Nino, faultless service, we really appreciated it. He's definitely a credit to the restaurant.The chorizo chilli pasta was really good, sauce an ideal consistently, chorizo was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The garlic bread was spot on, nice and light, again cooked perfectly, good flavour as well. The surf and turf was exceptional! The salad had a lovely dressing on it, the fries were light, crunchy on the outside but fluffy inside. The prawns were great. The star of the show was the steak, cooked perfectly, very tender (no need for a steak knife to deal with tough offerings here), it melted in the mouth. So wonderful to find a chef who can cook a steak properly! It was so good to have a lovely lunch out. There's lots on the menu we would like to try, especially as we now know the great quality of food here, and excellent service too. We will definitely be back, hopefully soon.

We've been here several times for dinner and they never disappoint. Food was delicious service excellent. Potion sizes are always spot on. You have to try their Bailey's cheesecake.They have taken safety measures very seriously. You sign in on arrival, only take your mask off if you move and the waiters didn't take theirs off at all. Will be heading back in January for a birthday meal

My husband and I, visited this restaurant on Saturday night for the first time. It was such a nice family run Italian. Staff amazing and the food was to die for. We will be back when in the area next!

I have driven by The Ox so many times but never been in. I visited this evening and am so glad I did. The waiting staff were so pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Felt very safe eating here. The food exceeded my expectations, true Italian food, good size portions, well presented and delicious. I was a little disappointed they couldn't give me grounded black pepper because of Covid, but it shows they are taking their responsibilities seriously. I will definitely return, just can't believe I have been living so close to such a lovely Italian restaurant.

As title says birthday meal with wife, daughter and 2 grandchildren at lunchtime. Reception and service pleasant and very friendly.All enjoyed their meals, mainly Italian, although other options available.Sadly there was just us and another couple in the restaurant. So come on North Baddesley support your local amenities before we lose them.Shall return.

Just finished our first non-home cooked meal since lockdown, so am sure that made it taste extra good! Delivery was a bit late, but the food was delicious: lovely Piri Piri chicken, crispy salty fries and great pizza. Looking forward to either another takeaway or eating in soon.

The strawberry daiquiri is an absolute must! Not on the menu... But really should be a specialty! It's absolutely divine. Best Italian made pizza I've had in years... Will definitely be a regular, especially finding out they do takeaway pizza

I’m not one to normally give a bad review but the service received from the staff at this establishment is shocking. Rude & obnoxious is putting it politely. Would not recommend if you want to be spoken to with professionalism and courtesy. Overall food was not amazing and just asking for some sauce was greeted with sarcasm and and come across as to much effort for their staff.

A group of ladies met for lunch - thoroughly enjoyed the lunch, friendly service and no hassle when we all paid individually. Food was excellent and well presented.

This is an Italian restaurant in a pub setting. The restaurant offers great italian food and beverage. The staff, father and son, are lovely people very approachable, they will listen to you and try and satisfy your needs and requests to the best of their availability.I have been there many times, more than 20 visits, and have never been disappointed. I have seen big tables of more than 10 patrons as well as people eating on their own, all were served with an equal amount of attention and kindness. I highly recommend the food, as the chef is extremely gifted at what he does. Choice of beverage is good, with real Italian wines to rival the best French and new world ones available in other establishments.

Have visited this pub/restaurant for lunchtime meals from the specials board with friends, pleasant dining.This was the first evening visit we have had which composed of a group of 10, all family. Every person enjoyed their meal, which was served in a very pleasant and competent manner manner. Did not enter the bar area so cannot comment, however the eating/restaurant area seemed to be full, showing there was many satisfied return customers.

Had dinner here while staying in nearby Chilworth. Played safe and booked in advance but found the place nearly empty when we arrived. food is very much standard Italian, but of very good quality meatball and garlic mushroom starters were excellent. Pasta main dishes were of good size and very tasty. Prices were reasonable. Would happily go back there.

Having just walked through the rear door and into the restaurant from the car park, I was greeted by a rude middle aged man on the phone, waving his arms at me and in a loud voice telling me I need to walk back out the door and around the front to the bar entrance as this is a restaurant.I told him not to worry as I wasn't going to be spoken to like that. He then realised that he over reacted and told me it's ok and to just walk through to the bar. To be spoken to like that was highly insulting especially as the customers at the bar heard as well. I left the restaurant having not made the booking for 8 people that I originally went in there for. I'll make a reservation elsewhere and make sure everyone knows why the venue has changed. By the way, his restaurant was empty when I walked in and it will remain that way of he continues to speak to customers like that. I would give this business a 0/5 rating if I had the option as I haven't tasted any of the food or drink and his hospitality is the worst I've experienced in forty years. I'll be booking the luzborough.

Lovely meal yet again here. We'd booked for a Friday night and I was glad we did as it looked full. Service was good and friendly. Between us we had delicious pasta and pizza and the puddings were excellent!

in both food, service etc. It's a place we go back to over and over again as the staff are so accommodating. We have also held business type meetings over coffee before going to lunch. The food is excellent whether catering for a table of four or twelve - the latter being the largest group we have visited with.

We visited the Ox a couple of months ago and would never go back. I was out with my wife, 3 children my sister and brother in law and their 2 kids. The meals were lovely, service was warm and friendly until we came to paying the bill. The head waiter at the time asked our children who are aged between 2-11 what they would like, all asked for ice creams. The portion that came out was good and the younger ones didn’t manage to eat it all. When the bill came we had been charged the adult prices. I thought this was a genuine mistake but it wasn’t and when I questioned this the waiter shouted at me even making some of the children frightened. He did in the end change this to the kids prices and continued shouting and ushered us out of the restaurant. The younger waiter followed us to the car park to apologise, but I would never go back to this place.

A Good evening meal on the whole : very expensive , but here is a family trying their hardest. Rather a long wait for food - which would be remedied by MORE STAFF. And if the Waiter/Proprietor is going to join a dispute about the Bill with a nearby table, better that the disagreement isn't so Obvious! Lights either glaring or too dim. Not nearly enough heat for December.

My sister told me about Bella Vita, so I tried it and liked it. We liked it so much we brought my mother here for a late 90th birthday family lunch and she enjoyed it as well; it turned out to be her last lunch in a restaurant before she died.

3rd visit after finding this place late 2018 , went with a well travelled friend who enjoys good food & was very impressed....

Went twice recently and both times service was very good and the food was delicious. Portions are plentiful. If you're a lover of Italian food this is the place!

Four of us in the area for a few days leading up to NY Eve. We dodn’t Know the area so just booked one of the first Restaurants we found on Google, which was Bella Vita - what a result!

This was my third or fourth trip. The food was good, the service was good, the ambience was good. What more can I say?

Our second visit and we were not disappointed. Wonderful food and great service the restaurant area is cosy and had a nice feel. Would recommend fungi dolcelatte starter or fish platter to be honest though everything we tried on both visits was really good! We will defiantly return.

We love this restaurant! Food is fabulous and really good sized portions and great value too. We come every week, the staff are absolutely lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend a visit.

Friendly Staff, Nice quiet Atmosphere which was perfect for us as my parents struggle in louder enviroments, Good choice with in the menu. Not rushed in any way as the table was ours for the night which I always like. Food was decent but I think next time we will ask for a little more cheese and chillie on our pizza but the steaks were good as was the lasagne.

I feel very lucky to have this place so local to where we live. The gentleman who runs it is so helpful and friendly. We recently turned up without a reservation and he made sure to accommodate us. The food is lovely. My son adores the pizzas and I really like the pasta dishes. I tried the Salmon Ravioli for the first time the other day and it was amazing!

We decided to dine out at Bella vita and we were not disappointed. A little bit of a wait for someone to take our order even though it was not busy, but that was soon over looked by the quality of food that followed,. All of our 3 courses were delicious, especially the fish stew my partner had ordered. If ever we were visiting the area again we would definitely go back and dine out again at the Bella Vita. Used to go to the Milan in Southampton. Now unfortunately closed but has rebranded and moved here.

We were looking to eat out close to Chilworth Manor where we were staying but didn’t fancy paying the hotel restaurant prices. This place was less than five minutes away with plenty of parking spaces behind it. From the outside it’s a bit off-putting- a former boozer on a busy road, still a boozer for locals at the front, and a horrible entrance through the smokers’ outside area. Once inside it improves. Service from a young chap doing most of the work on his own was prompt and friendly. We ordered a portion of deep fried courgettes to start which were very good, followed by pizzas which were just the ticket- large, thin crust, plenty of topping. Box ticked. Glasses of wine at reasonable prices. It’s not a Special Occasion venue, but it was ideal for a cheap Monday evening meal out.

Really disappointed tonight. First meal out in ages and thought we’d go ‘somewhere nice’. Kids running around constantly (owners I think) slow service, no check backs, had to go to bar to ask for bill as we were being bypassed (it wasn’t hugely busy) sticky table and beer flies while eating. I would have ignored all this if I hadn’t been chewing on the cling film that kept the chicken wrapped in cooking! I also wouldn’t have left a bad review if we had been offered more than £4 off a £50 bill. I couldn’t finish my meal afterwards as I was put off anyway. They did apologise but I feel they should have taken the whole meal price off the bill. Not the ‘nice meal out’ I’d been hoping for.

We visited on a Friday evening and were shocked to see how few punters were in there..it felt more like a Monday night. The decor in here does not reflect the theme of the restaurant , which I found rather odd - it’s an Italian Restaurant but the decoration gives off a French vibe. We were seated at a table right beside the door and it was a bit chilly as there were a couple of kids who kept coming in and out. This was particularly irritating as there were only 2 other occupied tables, so we could have been placed somewhere much more convivial. The waitress was efficient but not remotely warm or friendly - there was nothing specific I could point to as a complaint in her behaviour but she was just rather cold; we didn’t feel welcomed.

As we were heading to our hotel after a day in Peppa pig world, we made an impromptu decision to stop for easy dinner as it was our son's 3rd birthday. Food was absolute joy! Very friendly staff too. The pregnant lady and the Italian guy were very attentive. Thank you for the lovely treat too.

We checked opening times on the website, it quoted two different times for closing 8pm and 9pm, so we went along to the restaurant at 7:10pm only to be told they stop serving food at 7pm if it's quiet. If that's the case they should put that on the website to save people wasting their time. Not impressed!!

We went for dinner on our wedding anniversary 5th May. There were a couple of big table's while we were there but where we sat they didn't bother us, it nice to see a local restaurant busy. Don't be put off because it's at the back of a pub it's well worth it. there is a very good choice on the menu, my husband and I don't eat meat but we do eat fish we were not disappointed. I had the whole sea bass, it's making me hungry just writing about it!

Had lunch here during the week. Surprisingly lovely restaurant at the rear of the pub. Superb Seafood antipasti. The waiter was really helpful. Would definitely return. Meals going to other tables looked good as well and the menu, whilst basically Italian, had lots of great offerings.

The front of this building is a busy pub, the back is the restaurant. The approach is slightly offputting as you enter around the back and have to pass throught the covered area used for by all the smokers. However, the food was worth it - very tasty and good value.

We visited as a large family party earlier this month, fantastic food, all freshly cooked and reasonably priced. We did find the bill higher than expected due to a 10% service charge being added - we’d rather choose our own tip thank you! It would have spoilt the evening to start asking for it to be taken off (very British of us I know!) so just gulped and paid.

We ate here on a Wednesday lunchtime and were very pleased. The service was great and the food was delicious. My husband had the salmon with vegetables and really enjoyed it. I had the vegetable pasta Giardiniera and it was very tasty. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I would definitely return.

We visited for a light supper, midweek. I ordered a portion of bread and oil (also balsamic vinegar, but this is not so good for dipping). The lightly toasted ciabatta bread was very good, as was the oil. For the main course, I chose Zuppa...

Just moved to the area, was looking forward to our visit and meal. Ended up being a disappointing experience. Wife's sauce was burnt which the manager agreed with, meal was taken off the bill which we were greatful for but not much of a fuss made which really spoiled our night out. Restaurant was not busy on a Saturday night which made the place seem rather boring. Manager could interact with dinners a bit more, just all seemed soulless. Might give it another go, im sure we were just unlucky

We visited the restaurant on a Saturday evening at around 6pm. It was quiet and welcoming. We reserved a table but on hindsight it was unnecessary. The only other table in use was occupied by the restaurant managers family or friends.

Was looking forward to dining here, but left very disappointed. Menu was lacking in choice and overpriced. Meals were slow to be served. Service was average. Would be better if they kept to pub grub formula as when this was the Baddesley Arms. Large car park, bit cramped inside and rather dark and gloomy. Would not rush to return.

The pub used to have a bit of a reputation so when it changed hands to the Ox/ Bella Vita we, sorry to say, overlooked it!

Bella vita restaurant is excellent had many meals with family and friends have never been disappointed but as a New Years venue it was very flat with no decorations and nothing on the tables to suggest it was a party night.

We had lunch here a couples of days ago. The service was friendly and very quick. The food was beautifully cooked and well presented. The ingredients were very high quality. The restaurant is well decorated and has a good ambience. We chose to pick and choose off the menu and were a bit extravagrant but we noticed that they do set menus at very reasonable prices for lunch and dinner, The restaurant was quite quiet when we were there but we would definitely go back. is siutauated on a busy crossroads on the road between Southampton and Romsey.There is plenty of parking and toilets were clean and user friendly. We would definitely go back again.

Menu varied enough to feed them and incredibly reasonably priced - children have any pasta or pizza from the full menu for £4 (from memory) - and their plate sizes were very good indeed. We were served by a lovely lady, very friendly (she patiently waited whilst I coaxed the "please" and "thank you"'s from my boys!) - no hint of her pitying my single dad act!The food was delicious all round. I'm sure we'll be back.
