Really nice food and the place inside is also beautiful. We had a really nice time. The outside bit also was really nice, and enjoyed seeing the birds from our table.

A liitle gem in an absolute oasis of calm. Loved it , with decent food and coffee, at very reasonable prices. It gets busy so there is a wait but worth it.

Visited the weekend after Mother’s Day as a late celebration. Have heard good reviews about this place and decided to try it for afternoon tea. Was not disappointed! There wad a good selection of sandwiches ( which were nice and chunky! ) quiche and cakes. The scones were delicious, all accompanied with a white hot chocolate with raspberries. The portion sizes were more than the 2 of us could manage so a doggie bag was needed! The garden view was lovely on probably one of the first sunny days of the year with lots of birds visiting the bird feeders. Would definitely recommend and will return

Lovely little cafe in the Hermitage gardens. Tucked away it has a great homemade menu and a warm friendly service. The cafe overlooks the fabulous gardens. When we visited there was a carpet of snowdrops and crocuses in bloom. Well worth a visit.

I have visited The Orangery Cafe many times during 2023 and have always been totally satisfied. Tasty food, including a wonderful selection of cakes, excellent coffee and friendly and efficient service. Nicely decorated, particularly for festive occasions and pleasant views over the garden. Christmas afternoon tea was delicious and so plentiful with excess boxed up to enjoy later at home. Because the cakes have always been so varied and tasty, I ordered my Christmas cake from The Orangery as an alternative to last years cake from Betty's. I was not disappointed. The size and finish are very impressive and the price is less than expected. It is absolutely delicious and has gone down very well with my family who are staying with us over Christmas and the New Year. I will certainly be ordering my Christmas Cake from The Orangery next year and look forward to many visits during 2024. Without any hesitation, I can fully recommend The Orangery Cafe.

Lovely quaint little cafe set in small garden / park. Nice & light, great varied menu with multiple selection of home made cakes. The staff are very pleasant & efficient service. It is a lively little cafe for breakfast / brunch in a very pleasant environment. Has a Mediterranean feel to it.

We spent a lovely 2 hours at a cupcake decorating event with 2 children aged 5 and 7. 4 cupcakes were supplied for each of them and numerous toppings including chocolate buttons ( white and milk) sprinkles and various coloured icing etc. Included in the deal was juice and cereal or toast for the kids. They had a great time while Pops and I had breakfast. The scrambled egg on toast was too big for me to eat but one of the children was more than happy to share it. All in all it was real value for money with fabulous staff . When the children ask when can we go back you know you're onto a good thing. Oh and if going without kids dint be put off if there's an event on. There was no intrusion on those simply in for breakfast Thanks again Deb and team. Von

Met up with friends for a spot of lunch. This little place looked perfect and it was , great food and friendly staff that couldn't do enough for us . Well worth a visit .

Out for a walk with the dog and decided to pop up for a brew and a bite. I passed the sign for the cafe so many times and dont know why i never ventured in before now. I was happy to see they allow dogs, on leads ofcourse, which i was happy with as a good cafe that allows this is hard to find. I had a Latte and a New York style bagel (might have the name wrong), and it was all fantastic, good value too. Friendly staff aswell , i was served by Zoe and then Deb when i went back for a 2nd coffee, they were both happy to help and modify menu items too if your a picky eater like me. It was a cozy spot waiting for food, some books dotted about to read which i thought was a nice touch. I look forward to visiting more often, especially in the summer as the gardens its set in have a nice little route around it dotted with benches to sit out with a coffee etc. They also have water bowls out for the dogs, i may have spied a dog treat tub but im not certain. Either way, a great place to chill and watch some of the smaller wildlife in the garden too. Will be back soon with the Mrs for sure.

A lovely place with friendly staff & warm atmosphere. Excellent food menu. We had cake and were spoilt for choice. I would highly recommend and will be back soon!

Went with my family who were visiting from Canada and they said it was amazing. The food was lovely and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was really excellent and I highly recommend. The cakes are to die for.

Went here for first time and cannot recommend enough. Food was delicious, staff are beyond lovely. Just a very nice and chilled environment where you don't feel rushed. Was very well looked after, but the cakes were definietly the shining star!

Beautiful surroundings. It’s like sitting in a lovely garden which surrounds the building which has enormous windows Massive selection of savoury, deserts. And drinks. Food was lovely and staff were lovely. We’ll worth a visit.

We visited here on a Saturday morning whilst visiting our niece and family. The staff were really friendly and the service was very good. The cakes were of a high standard and the vegan cake tasted like cake even though it was a little sweet. They were happy for the pram to be in the cafe.

I had an amazing cake and the service was lovely. Would highly recommend it was really organised and I got my food almost straight away

Really well worth a visit. Delicious food and drink. Amazing selection of cakes. Friendly staff and lovely outlook over the Community Gardens. Looking forward to my next visit and thoroughly recommend.

Our WI Coffee & Chat group (14 of us) enjoyed delicious home made scones with tea/coffee at The Orangery in the Hermitage Community garden, Whickham. Staff are very efficient and friendly - we will be back!!
