Visited here for lunch back in March! They have a lunch menu which is 1 course for £11.50, 2 courses for £15 or 3 courses for £19. Calamari to start served with tartare sauce which was super crispy & there was plenty of sauce! Followed by lamb kofta for main, served with chips & salad. The lamb was delicious and had so much flavour!

I took my mum and stepdad to the olive tree for Sunday lunch today and had an amazing meal. We were sat in the garden area with the wonderful sunshine. Didn’t feel rushed and the waiter couldn’t have done more for us. Thanks for an excellent meal

Having recently celebrated my birthday anniversary we were invited to join some very good friends here, for dinner. It was a very generous treat to us both, as my birthday gift. This restaurant was our friend’s choice; as they had dined here previously: enjoying the food, service and ambience. As we would, no doubt, be enjoying wine, we had decided to take the City Centre bus service which routes through Fishponds. This provides very convenient bus-stops, that are only a short-walk at both ends of our journey. My Partner and I were first to arrive at the restaurant, so we set-about looking at the menu whilst sipping a wine ordered ahead of our friends arrival. The wine here is sold by the bottle, or by the glass; but the wines are not named on the menu. The wine is basically sold by country, type and colour; fortunately we chose well with the Spanish dry white. This wine had a flavour and style similar to a Verdejo, and was ‘very drinkable’. We continued taking wine by the glass throughout the meal, with the two ladies and myself drinking the white, and the other host drinking red, and then finishing with a glass of Raki as a digestif. Our friends soon arrived and joined us at the table we had chosen next to the window, looking out onto the busy Fishponds Road. The restaurant was also very busy with a large family table in the centre of the room with parents, their children, and possibly some grandparents. The children were very well-behaved over what was an extended meal which was already well-underway when we arrived. A little later a private party in the rear private dining-room was beginning to get noisy; at times the noise from their disco was very loud. The party ‘music’ was a blend of Eastern Mediterranean influenced tunes with a heavy thumping beat. This was a steady background noise that became very noticeable as waiting staff, and possibly party-goers, opened the connecting door between the private dining-room, and the restaurant/bar. Our waiter apologised a few times about the noise, which on occasions drowned out the gentle background music in the main dining room. Sporadically the noise made it difficult to talk amongst ourselves. We ordered mezzes of ‘Mixed Olives’ shared by our hosts and my Partner (I don’t ‘do olives’). Our friends had vegetarian mezzes as mains; the ‘Halloumi Cheese’, a mezze of Chips, and the ‘Saksuka’ mezze; the latter being fried aubergine with courgette, onion, peppers and tomato in a tomato sauce. The plan was to share these plates between themselves, but as they sat diagonally oppositive each other this was impractical. My Partner had the ‘Classic Prawn Tava’ mezze as starter which was very good, and I enjoyed the excellent ‘Moroccan Chicken Tagine’ mezze as a starter. For mains my Partner and I both had the ‘Lamb Shish’, with my Partner choosing Chips, whereas I chose to have rice, these plates were accompanied by a good sized and excellent side salad. The Shish was a substantial serving of very tasty pieces of well-trimmed chargrilled lamb which was vey firm (some would say tough). Cut small it was still quite chewy, but perfectly edible and much enjoyed (all of it). The two ladies declined to take dessert, but the chaps took Baklava, and (three-flavour) Ice Cream (I had the latter, but regretted not ordering the Baklava which looked (and apparently was) very good. Service at all times was great and really very friendly.

I wish I'd remembered to take photos. The service was good, very attentive. The food was cooked in a little kitchen you could get glimpses of. Definitely not bought in freezer food. Don't be put off by its slightly cafe appearance. It is a place to take your loved one on date night. People were just walking in, but it was full inside by 8pm ish. So my advice would be to book. We will be going back. Prices were okay between £10 & £30 for mains. Parking on North Street is free after 5pm.

A delightful restaurant in a lovely location, serving delicious food! It was on the pricey side (though i know its hard especially for independent restaurants) and the wine a little rough but in every other way, it was just gorgeous.
