Took a friend of mine out for a birthday meal to this quaint little restaurant. It was a quiet Sunday evening so the place was fairly empty, none the less the food was excellent. Very flavoursome and fresh. Our compliments to the chef, also the lovely young man that was our waiter for the evening. Not overly priced either. I would highly recommend this place. .

Lovely atmosphere, with wonderful food. I chose a salad as a starter - it was vast! Leaves, feta, sultanas, pomegranate seeds and beetroot, with fresh herbs and warm flatbread. The mains are also substantial. I had a Persian chicken dish, which came with cous cous and dips. It was beautiful - clearly home made and very enjoyable. I had hoped it would be spicy, which it wasn't (to be fair, it didn't claim to be) but I still loved the deep taste and wonderful textures. I was too full for pudding, but others in our party were made of sterner stuff and their baklva looked amazing. Nice wines and the staff are very obliging. The manager (owner?) came out for a chat, which I sometimes find intrusive, but he is a genuinely warm and likable man, and added to our enjoyment of the evening. Highly recommended.

Just had a delightful meal at this restaurant with my wife and another couple. The food was delicious, we had starters, mains and (in the case of the men) desserts and everything was very tasty with good sized portions. The service was very good and attentive throughout and the general ambience and decor of the place was very pleasant. One of our party was vegetarian and allergic to gluten and they were easily able to accommodate this with choices on the menu and they took real care over the food for her. I would definitely recommend the place and shall look forward to a return visit myself.

Booked this restaurant for a Sunday night to celebrate my daughters birthday. There were nine of us all together. A table had been laid out for us to sit together which worked out just fine. It is not a big establishment, best described as a large dining room which has nice decor and cane furniture. Candles had been lit all round the room which gave it a pleasant feel.I chose this restaurant as I understood it served Greek food and had a look at their menu on the website. What was offered was different to what was on site. Two menus were supplied and what was offered was not all Greek. If I told you I had a lamb samosa with salad to start and a truly delicious beef goulash for a main course, you will understand. My party had two vegans and two vegetarians in it. Both were well catered for. Those that ordered the lentil soup to start with really enjoyed it and said it was filling on its own. Absolutely no complaints about the food from anyone. I would describe the restaurant more as a bistro than a Greek one.We were attended to by Hannah and Matt. Excellent. Couldn't do enough to help us and all smiles. Well done. There was music playing at just the right volume. Not intrusive and we could hear each other speak. Played some easy going jazz numbers and no Zorba the Greek stuff.Nice touches were table water was already laid out in carafes. A complimentary bottle of Prosecco was presented to my daughter for her birthday and the service was second to none with the staff taking photos for us.If planning on going, check out the menu beforehand. Don't rely on the website although I have been told it is being updated. It now gets even better. The starters are around £5 and all the main courses very reasonably priced. We had wine and the beers kept coming for the men. The desserts are very good as well. I had hot chocolate tart and am told the sticky toffee puddings was delicious. Coffee had by those who wanted it at the end. This was a birthday feast to remember and worked out at just over £20 per head. Well worth it. Will definitely be back.

having enjoyed brunch here a few times we decided to try an evening meal. It was definitely worth it! The meal came with free wine when we ordered at least two main courses which made it pretty unbeatable on value. We were served with humour and sensitivity and enjoyed the whole experience. The food was really good, we all chose different things and our only regret was not being able to chose everything as so much of it was really tempting. I had the roast chicken with pears which was lovely, and just right in terms of size. I'm quite health conscious and the food felt healthy without being boring! I didn't plan on desert but my partner ordered the gold digger cake, and I tried a bit and then gave into temptation and ordered one too. My partner and I have visited number 10 a few times over the last few months and it really has become one of our favourite places in and around the Gloucester Road. With the feel of a rustic French kitchen/ dining room with a dimlyLit and casual feel, in addition to one of the most amazing outdoor spaces for days when the sun is out, Number 10 really is a great place to visit whatever the occasion. Number 10 has to be one of the most warm and friendly restaurants in Bristol. Lovely candle lit atmosphere with a good selection of traditional Persian food really give this place a good start, but what sets it off against other restaurants is the level of service. The manager Saeid is someone who cares for the experience that every diner receives - almost to the point of putting the customer before the business. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the food really is amazing. For our latest visit we sat down with the menu and Saeid explained that he had prepared me a vegetarian option of the Persian lamb stu (after last time I visited when I commented on how nice it would be to try it). It is this attention to detail and customer satisfaction that makes it so special, and we haven't even started on the food. The food as almost expected was really great - lovely flavours and spices - and my partner who had the meat version of the dish said it was one of the most tender dishes she has had. Over our last few visits as well as trying some lovely food we have also got to know some of the other regular customers all of whom the view Of what a find this place is. In a world of chain restaurants with mass produced food I'd urge you to try a truelyLocal and traditional Persian restaurant here in the heart of the bustling Gloucester Road. Please please visit Number 10. if onlyTo share a gin and tonic with Saeid.

Another night out with friends and we wanted somewhere we have not been too before, so we settled on Number 10, Zetland Road for a visit. We parked up the road from the restaurant and slowly walked back down passing some of the other restaurants that are here, Harikrishnan's Kitchen, Casa Mexicana, Case & Edwards and Greens, all of these were very busy and looked to be well on the way to being full.Number 10 is on the junction of Zetland Road & Cranbrook Road and on google maps is shown to be just up from the junction in Cranbrook Rd but it's entrance is in Zetland Rd and is on the opposite side from the other restaurants, as we approached, I noticed that there was no one inside and said to Julie was this an omen as we had passed all the other very busy places. One of the other couples, Rosie &Steve, were already here but were just sat out of sight and Helen & Adam arrive not long afterwards, after a round of drinks it was time to look at the menu. The menu here is not extensive but does offer varied choice of starters, salads, vegetarian dishes, mains and desserts for you to sample. Steve & I had their 'Soup of the Day' which was Lentil and came with Garlic & Pesto Naan, Julie & Adam had 'Stuffed Red Peppers' that came with a sweet dressed rocket salad, Helen chose the 'Vegetarian Somosa' with sweet chilli dip & dressed Italian leaf salad. They also offer a specials menu of starters and Rosie chose their 'Calamari' with a sweet dressed salad for her starter.Number 10 offers a choice of draft beer, larger or cider as well as bottled drinks, wines and soda's for you to wash down your meal, we chose Thatchers Cider for the chaps, Diet Coke and wine for the girls, they also gave us a pitcher of iced water as well. For our main meal, 3 of us chose their 'Goulash Stew, which came with a choice of either Saffron Basmati Rice or Chunky Chips'v we all chose their chips, 2 other chose their 'Ghamah with Saffron Basmati Rice,Homemade Tzatzki, a Dressed Italian Leaf Salad and hot Naan Bread' and their 'Persian Salmon Stew', which came with the same sides as their Ghamah, was the final choice. To complete the evening a few of us sampled their deserts and 2 of us chose their 'Gold Diggers Crunch' & 2 others chose their 'Profiteroles'. All their deserts come with Ice Cream or Cream. To make the evening even better, soft music was playing in the background and dim lighting added a genteel ambiance to the evening, although this did make reading the menu a little harder although they did offer to raise the level of lighting if needed for us.I'm glad to say that my initial reservations, when seeing the restaurant, were totally wrong and I would recommend Number 10 as a place to visit for an excellent night, be it for a couple or a group of you. The service was very good, the food excellent and your were allowed time to enjoy yourself's throughout the evening and their charges we very reasonable. We will definitely becoming back here in the future. If I was to find one fault though it would be the parking, as this is a very popular area for restaurants & pubs and people out for the evening. We were lucky to have an early booking and found one further up Zetland Rd from the restaurant, but Adam & Helen had to find one much further and when we left Number 10, noticed that there was no spare places around and ours was taken by the time we past it on our way home.

My order was for 'Persian salmon stew', salmon cooked with aromatic herbs and spices served with rice, tzatsiki, salad and hot naan bread. I was brought a salmon fillet served with an orange sauce with new potatoes and vegetables ( which was another meal on the menu)!!! I said that was not what I'd ordered and what upset me was the waiter whom had taken my order trying to convince me that the meal he'd delivered was essentially the same.......when in fact the only similarity was the fact that both of the dishes were salmon based.

Just, really, boringly average food. The salmon and prawn cocktail starter took me right back to the 70's - although it was plastered all over a huge bed of lettuce rather than coming in a glass! Tasteless prawns and a really dreadful sauce; the saving grace was the tiny bit of smoked salmon I detected under the swamp of sauce. My companions had lamb samosas - very good, and calamari which was appalling. The main courses were all disappointing - the salmon in a persian stew just tasted sour and had to be eaten with the rice and naan to make it palatable. The actual salmon was nice and well cooked. The puddings I imagine are all bought in and I wouldn't recommend any of them. The coffee however was delicious and the Chardonnay excellent at a very good price. The food isn't expensive (thank goodness) and I feel a bit mean about grumbling as the front of house staff were charming and couldn't have worked any harder to make our meal pleasurable. The place is badly let down by the chef - the food just doesn't match the place which is very comfortable and a pleasant space to be in.

Went there for lunch this afternoon with OH and a friend. Been wanting to try the place out and luckily we got a great seat outside and were basking in the beautiful Bristol sunshine. Service was quick and friendly and there is a nice atmosphere about the place watching the world go by. The food however is decidedly average. To begin with I take issue with the condiments. Ideally they should be served in small ramekins or such like but if they are sachets it must be Hellmann's - this is a basic necessity like air, water. Might stretch to Heinz Mayo but definitely not to the office canteen level sachets they have here. I had the fish cakes - huge fish cakes and one of the problems with this size is that they were not cooked in the middle - 'twas a soft gelatinous mess. Chips were chunky but quite dry and lacking in bite. OH had eggs on a roll and bizarrely the eggs were placed on the muffins and then she was given a portion of butter on the side in the foil. Sort of defeats the reason for the butter given that it should be melting into muffin underneath the egg. Our other friend had a full English which looked the part and was dispatched with gusto. Overall a nice setting and good service but average food, a lot of potential though.

I often pass Number 10, but Easter Monday was the first time that I'd stopped there for ages. We wanted a 'pub lunch' in the sun, if possible, and there were outside tables free here. The food was good: two of us had lamb samosas which could be had as a small or large dish. My wife enjoyed her fishcakes. The staff were very charming and the menu was clearly very flexible. What was a pity, however, was the modern habit of selling only exotic foreign lagers, without a single proper beer. That nearly lost Number 10 our business on this occasion. The outside seating is by a traffic light controlled junction, but luckily the stop line (for those who observe it) is set far enough back not to be too much of a problem, although I wouldn't want to be here during the rush hour.

Six of us went for breakfast, warm greeting and re-arranged seating for us. We all ordered slightly off Menu, again no problem. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very enjoyable. Lovely friendly place and totally hit the spot for us. Well done to the team.

I took my son, his girlfriend and my baby granddaughter for brunch on Sunday 21st September. We were made to feel so welcome. The staff were polite and lovely in providing us with great service. The food was piping hot along and we each had something different. We will be going back and soon. 10/10 for No 10 The Gibbs Family.

My girlfriend booked this place as we were going for a late breakfast with her family, and it was round the corner from where we were staying (her brother's!).It is a lovely little place. Light and airy, with a nice menu selection (sadly it was too early for anything other than breakfast for us!). The staff were very pleasant and helpful and we were served pretty quickly (fortunately there were only 2 tables in when we ordered). The coffee here is particularly lovely and those of us that had it were very impressed. The breakfasts arrived and were very well done, with good sausages and well cooked tomatoes in particular. We sat chatting for quite a while after we had actually finished eating, and as the sun had come out, the staff allowed us to have another round of drinks at tables outside (very good of them considering we were a table of 5).Over the time we were there, the place was really buzzing, with lots of people coming to eat a range of dishes off the menu - The fishcakes look fantastic!!Overall it was a great find and the staff really are very helpful but not at all intrusive, as one previous reviewer mentioned. A lovely couple of hours spent here.

Just bought a house close to Number 10, and have now eaten there a few times. Every time has been brilliant. Good selection of food, especially for vegetarians, and the wine list is good and reasonably priced. Their breakfasts are also very good. The staff are all attentive and very friendly.

We visited this last night and had a wonderful meal of middle eastern flavour. There were alternatives for the less adventurous but I had the goulash stew that I can thoroughly recommend. For 4 very tasty 3 course meals, a bottle of wine and a couple of soft drinks I consider £100 to be excellent value. Really we could have done without the desserts but we could not resist the menu. The only disappointment was that the Gold Diggers Crunch had sold out!

Well, this is going to look like one of the weird, negative reviews that stands out as being a bit disingenuous. All the other reviewers seems to love this place! I can't see why. I have to be honest though, we didn't complain at the time. We were being treated to dinner, and it seems pretty inappropriate to complain in those circumstances.I also have to say that it's only the food that lets this place down - sounds daft cos clearly the food is the main point of going out to eat! But the place itself is ok and the service very good. But the food, that's simply bad.Take our starters for example. We chose calamari. You'd expect rings of squid in a light, crisp batter. And considering squid is cheap, you'd expect a decent portion. We got 4 lumps (seriously, lumps) of squid in a thick, stodgy batter. It looked like really bad scampi. Terrible.Mains weren't much better. My authentic lamb stew was pretty tasteless. And came with a rather bizarre trio of a (meagre) portion of rice, salad leaves and pitta. Others had seabass which they reported as bland. Now, my missus used to work in a wholesale patisserie so she can spot a bad dessert a mile off. Everything listed on the dessert menu here smacks of cheap bought-in stuff. So we thought they were best avoided. A couple in our group chose baklava. If you know the area you'll know there's an excellent turkish patisserie nearby (Bristanbul) which sells amazing baklava. That isn't what's on offer here. More disappointment. It doesn't feel great giving somewhere a bad review, especially when the front of house staff are clearly making every effort. It's a shame they're let down so badly by the kitchen. If you want to eat middle eastern there is much better on offer in Bristol. Sadly, I can't recommend this place.

Number 10 is a small (Very) & intimate restaurant. The food is interesting & well presented. It's not fine dining, so no silly prices. Service is attentive, but not too pushy: staff are really welcoming & friendly. Well worth a visit...

Small but perfectly formed! This 'front room' restaurant is homely but not old-fashioned and the owner is so friendly and has trained the resident chef himself. And the food is exquisite!(Not sure if it's open for lunch or earlier)

We went here on a date after reading some really good reviews. The menu looked fairly bland on face value but it looked very tasty none the less. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and the atmosphere of the evening was very chilled out. We ordered a nice bottle of french Sauvignon blanc, which was surprisingly pleasant. We both had Persian koko frittata for starter which was gorgeous. I ordered the fish platter (over the sea bass dish, as the platter included sea bass) for main and my partner went for king prawn risotto. When the mains arrived I was struggling to work out where my sea bass element of it was! It was advertised to consist of haddock, sea bass, prawns and salmon...but I could only find three types of fish. I queried this with the waitress who advised me the haddock was sea bass but she would go and check with the chef...she never came back to update me on the missing sea bass! The rest of my dish was fabulous although quite plain and my partners dish was creamy and rich. When the plates were picked up we queried what the white fish was and were advised it was haddock...a further query about my sea bass finally led to the answer that there was no sea bass as they had run out and I had extra prawns to compensate...I just wish I had been informed about the amendments that were taking place to my dish on ordering it...For pudding we had gold digger crunch (a chocolatey cake with more chocolate in it) and New York cheesecake. Both were delicious and it rounded up a tasty meal.As we were departing the restaurant we saw that another customer had just received a sea bass and the waitress confirmed it was sea bass with no apology or acknowledgement of the fact they had lied to my face. All in all it was a chilled environment, with tasty but plain food at a reasonable price. The only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was the sea bass, oh but it never made it to my mouth!I would have chosen something else!!!

This place is awesome!! Truly has everything. The food is beautiful. The home made Persian meals are delicious. The staff are pleasant, helpful and really welcoming. The seating area outside is a real bonus. I have tried some of the big chain restaurants recently and they don't come anywhere near this place. I'll be back!,

Friends took us here whilst we were visiting. We had a fantastic evening, including sitting outside on a balmy evening, great food and a very friendly waiter. The menu catered well for vegetarians as well as the meat eaters amongst us. The Persian dishes were excellent, my lamb was really tender and tasted great. I've never eaten Persian food before so I don't know how authentic it was, but all in all this was a great meal.

We had lunch here and sat outside and although it is on a main road, it is quite an intimate setting. We thought it was a great place to sit in the sunshine. The staff were very friendly. The lunch menu was great value and a bit cheaper than some of the other places on Gloucester Road. It was really nice food and a good portion sizes. I would definately like to come back and try the evening menu.

I'm a bit fussy when we go!!! I really don't like chain restaurants. I found this restaurant by chance and what a lovely treat it was. My husband and I had a great meal, great value, helped by table pounced! Quiet small, offering Persian food cooked to order. A lovely selection of traditional dishes but also something for the less adventurous. Samosas were gorgeous, I really wanted the falafels but went for fish instead, more treaty I thought. But a could of ordered one of many dishes it was nice to have such a selection of tasty delights. I would recommend this one and I'll be going back again to sample more from them.

Visited on a Tablepouncer deal. Shared a mixed mezzze starter which we really enjoyed. Both had sirloin steaks which were cooked to our requirements. Both steaks were excellent, as were the freshly cooked chips. Salad and mushroom/onion dip were also superb.Had a nice bottle of tempranillo and 2 decent coffees to finish with Just could not fault anything

We booked this through Table Pouncer (£5 booking fee) the day before and got 35% off. We've always looked at this restaurant and fancied visiting - really glad we did! They were very flexible with their dishes, offer a lot of variety and the food was really good! The service was relaxed yet efficient and very friendly. We would definitely go back again - discount or no discount! A hidden gem in Bristol!

We had walked up this way to go to a Jamaican Restaurant only to find it closed. (restaurants around this area of Bristol seem to have quite quirky opening times, so a general tip is to ring first or have a plan B). Anyhow this restaurant was just around the corner. It is cozy and very friendly and welcoming. The Persian Lamb Stew comes highly recommended. I recommend this place as an interesting change of cuisine at a reasonable price.

Noticed this place in passing and when I mentioned it on the bus a stranger piped up with a glowing review. Very glad we tried it as its a lovely find- the restaurant is pretty, cosy and relaxed, and the food delicious and interesting. Its Persian run and offers a varied Middle Eastern/European style menu. Our main meals came with a homemade mezze, we chose the salmon stew with sweet lentils and spinach, and lamb in a tasty sauce. Friendly and laid back owner/waiter. Will definitely be returning, a special place for something a bit different.

Had noticed this restaurant many times in passing but didn't really know what it was like. Decided to go one night for a change and found it to be great! Interesting mediterranean and middle eastern food. I had mezze which was great - the humous tasted home made and the falafels were lovely. Very friendly waitress. Will definitely be back in the summer to sit outside and try one of their nice looking brunches.

We went to this restaurant for dinner ( 3 South African girls) after seeing the not so bad reviews online and we liked the look of the menu. When we got there the restaurant was very empty and we got worried but we decided to brave it as it was a cold winter night. We were pleasantly surprised by the food, the friendly staff and the atmosphere. The meals were reasonably priced as well. I would recommend this restaurant.

We originally found No10 because our intended restaurant was closed. We thought why not and were very pleased we did. It's a small restaurant with an outside patio to the front (great in the sun but not in the cold). We have been a number of times for a late breakfast and lunch and early supper and have always been very pleased. It is family run by Greeks but the food choice is a mix of meditteranean and good old fashioned english breakfast. My first meal was burger and chips but really well cooked and chips to die for. Service is very good, the welcome is good and very good value for money.Situated on the corner of Zetland Rd and Cranbrook Rd.

A delightful restaurant in a lovely location, serving delicious food! It was on the pricey side (though i know its hard especially for independent restaurants) and the wine a little rough but in every other way, it was just gorgeous.

I wish I'd remembered to take photos. The service was good, very attentive. The food was cooked in a little kitchen you could get glimpses of. Definitely not bought in freezer food. Don't be put off by its slightly cafe appearance. It is a place to take your loved one on date night. People were just walking in, but it was full inside by 8pm ish. So my advice would be to book. We will be going back. Prices were okay between £10 & £30 for mains. Parking on North Street is free after 5pm.

Ordered for collection and arrived after the stated collection time to be told it would be 10 minutes. I suspect they hadn't even started my order. Left and came back 15 minutes later and was still made to wait at least a further 10 minutes. My order was chicken souvlaki as confirmed via e-mail and by the receipt that was in the bag, when I was chewing it realised it was pork. I will never go near this place again.
