Magic Roll in Bristol, City of

Ordered for collection and arrived after the stated collection time to be told it would be 10 minutes. I suspect they hadn't even started my order. Left and came back 15 minutes later and was still made to wait at least a further 10 minutes. My order was chicken souvlaki as confirmed via e-mail and by the receipt that was in the bag, when I was chewing it realised it was pork. I will never go near this place again.

My kids waited two years to visit following a recommendation and we had a fair journey to get to it. The food was good but the experience was spoilt by the two Greek guys running the place, whose unfriendliness bordered on hostile. Surprising lack of filotimo. Also not the cleanest place I've eaten.

Never fails to be delicious. The Magic Rolls are all filled with fresh ingredients. A small one is satiating and a large one is more than filling. I take all my American tourists there and every one of them raves about it!

Had the pork gyros , was very nice... so nice we had another during our short stay! Quick, fresh, and reasonably priced! Would recommend

I visited here with friends after hearing great reviews about the place. I was a bit disappointed by the food if I am honest. It wasn't great and lacked flavour. My chips were all soggy but the chicken wasn't too bad. It was quick easy food and not bad but I have had better so not sure I will be revisiting.

The wraps are overfilled with cabbage to bulk them out. Taste ok. Miserable staff. Poor customer service. Kebab shop with seating.

Second time of ordering from here. First time was brilliant second time very poor. Food cold as 45 mins late - not very good food this time either. Won't be ordering again from here.

Great food. A real genuine taste of Greece. Roast potatoes are to die for! I wish i could cook them like this! The biscuits are equally as delicious and at £1.80 for 5, what a bargain! I love Greek chocolate and when my stash runs out on return from holidays, im always relieved to be able to buy a supply from here along with a decent frappe. Service has always been good too. I often speak Greek to them which they seem pleased about and surprised with!

Having pre-ordered I was expecting to arrive @ the takeaway & just pay & collect my order instead I was made to wait an additional 25/30 mins for the fries which were then disgusting & very greasy as they had been cooked in oil that was too cold & for too long. I would order a roll again but not online for collection as there was no benefit especially as no apology was given & the fries were very poor

The best takeaway bar none Bristol has to offer. Or eat in with a bottle of Mythos! I've been visiting since before the takeover/ expansion & still it remains outstanding. Congrats to all - don't ever change!

Terrible customer service, are not physically capable of operating a simple door bell, would not trust their delivery at all. Unless you have a blimp to help locate your house they will not find it. But having been to the restaurant before the food is really nice, shame about the delivery though.

Iv never had such a dry meal even with delivery time taken into account. So dry and tasteless, such a shame. Never again.

Good fast food restaurant.You have to wait at lest 5 minutes but food and atmosphere is really good.It's good as a fast food ,restaurant or even shop with greece products.

The staff are all super friendly, and really know what they're doing with the food. You have to try the chicken yiros (not gyros lol). It will blow your mind. Nice place to sit in and eat as well, as they always have greek music playing which creates a pleasant atmosphere.

I've been visiting Magic Roll for years now & whatever time of day or night or early hours I arrive the service is excellent and the rolls are always fantastic.

For the amount of times I have visited Bristol I am shocked I have never been told about this place. My friend suggested this after our basketball game and thought why not?! Walk in, such a beautiful atmosphere... The music perfectly sets the mood and the smell just takes you away! I simply had a chicken gyros. WOW took me back to my visit to Santorini ! Such beautiful food. And the spinach and cheese pies were an amazing treat whilst waiting for my food. 10000000% recommend this place to everyone! I don't live in Bristol but will make sure to come back with more friends.

I wish they delivered 24hrs and lowered the minimum spend. I could eat here any time.

I love everything about Magic Roll. The souvlaki is delicious, as are the yummy little filo pasty things and all of the Magic Rolls that contain all the goodness of the world. The healing powers of magic rolls are widely known by the drinkers of Bristol, but I can honestly say they should not only be consumed after copious amounts alcohol, but enjoyed as a meal at any point as they are delicious and really inexpensive!

Flagowy Magic Roll, w zależności kto przyrządza jest smaczny raz nie da się zjeść od ilości dodanego sosu. Bardzo dobre souvlaki. Minus za leniwego młodego pracownika, który przyrządzał jedzenie trzy razy dłużej niż inni, a w między czasie prowadził ożywione konwersacje nie zwracając uwagi na to co robi. Plus za niskie ceny.

I visited the Magic Roll in Redcliffe, believing it to be like the old style Magic Roll before the Taka Taka takeover. Do not be fooled - this place is a Taka Taka, masquerading as a Magic Roll. I ordered the 'Daisy Demuth' which includes halloumi, roast veg, falafel, hummus, spinach, cabbage, mushroom, tomato and balsamic dressing. Believe me when I say that dry, white cabbage made up 90% of the filling. I counted 2 pieces of halloumi cheese in total. If you are anything like me and expect your lunch to be both filling and tasty, then you will be sorely disappointed when you choose "Magic" Roll.

Simple, tasty and well cooked Greek food. Great for lunch or a quick tea, very reasonably priced and a big selection on the menu.

Have always been impressed with the food in the restaurant. But this was late in delivery, the special instructions were ignored, it was cold and there was hardly any of the salad ingredients advertised in the menu actually in the wrap. All in a pretty dissapointing meal!

How have I never reviewed this place before? It is the first place I visit after I arrive in Bristol. They make wraps that are filled with the freshest, highest quality ingredients that money can buy. Watching them make the wraps alone is an event. The Daisy Demouth is my absolute favorite - Halloumi, roasted veg, falafel, hummus, spinach, cabbage, mushroom, tomato, balsamic dressing. Sometimes I get it with the garlic aioli, sometimes the sweet chilli sauce. It has never failed to satisfy!This place is open very late so why have a questionable kebab after the pub shuts when you can have a delicious, and healthier, wrap?!They also have a ton of other Greek dishes but honestly, I've never tried them because their wraps are absolutely amazing.Be warned - they go on holiday the first week in January so the place is completely shut then. I learned that the hard way...and I cried.

I had ordered 3 wraps and 1 rosted potato for delivery. The wrap seemed fine but the posted potato were packed in a paper box inside a plastic bag. The oil had leaked all into the plastic bag and it looked very unappitising I called the restaurant straight away and explain to them there Advise was that it happens all the time and they can't do anything about it and they did not even offer me a refund ! In fact they wanted me to eat unappitising potato that had leaked everywhere I gave the food back to driver and asked him to take it back to shop. In the end I never got refund or an apology. And the women on phone was very rude!

These guys garble the complete wrong order

The souvlaki as always was fantastic, however the jaadu khana was incredibly spicey, almost inedible, one of them was also ordered without the chilli sauce and had written on the wrapper, no chilli sauce yet first bite mouth on fire and I was unable to eat the wrap or any of my other food due to the spice. The first time I ordered from here it was fantastic, and has been going downhill since, last time none of the wraps had sauce in.

Still not liking the £2 delivery fee but the food is outstanding as always! Delivery is bang on time- would defo order again and again!

Neither of the old York melts had any sauce or cheese in, leaving mince and cabbage in a wrap. And the daisy demuth had one falafel and one piece of hallumi in. I've never previously been disappointed with a wrap from here but when it goes wrong it goes really really wrong. Won't be ordering from here again.

Gave food 5 stars as it tasted great but as we live 2 miles away it was cold but this was to be expected I suppose. Great customer service when I had problems with the payment which the driver helped fix straight away.

Hello regarding my order you forgot to bring me the fries!

The food was lovely but when it arrived it was barely even warm and it took over an hour and a half to arrive. Very slow and wasn't really worth the wait.

This is now the same as Taka Taka, but they have kept on the Magic Roll legacy, but expanded the range to include authentic Greek street food.

I have always gone to magic roll after a night out and always been happy. First take away Good portions. However, took 90 mins. Cold. Awful chips. Salad not fresh. Deeply disappointing

Second time I ordered from Magic Roll. I didn't much care for the potatoes, but a nice meal overall. Some people have had problems with delivery time, for me it ranged from speedy to normal, and the delivery guy was allright.

You've not lived until you've tried a magic roll. Brilliant. Personal favourites are the Old York Melt and O'Piratha.

Brilliant, fresh tasting food. Fries and roast potatoes (more like boiled) are both very tasty! Had the medium wraps which were huge! God knows how big the large ones are. Definitely value for money.

The magic rolls were okay. Though the haloumi wasn't haloumi. The souvlaki should been simple. Lamb on a skewer, but what came was like the cheapest, processed, salty, mystery-meat ever. Inedible basically. The chips are nice though. ;)

Food is fab but nothing is worth waiting 1.5hrs for, at least it was fresh and hot when it finally arrived, remade apparently reason for longer delay after we chased the order 20 mins after the estimated delivery time, no compensation offered I would of at least expected my delivery fee refunded

Restaurant lost our order. After an hour and a half we called up. They blamed just eat. Just eat confirmed they had sent it, restaurant spent most of the time trying to shift the blame instead of getting straight on it and getting our food to us.

Quality of food is excellent and the rolls are delicious. However, If they are going to charge £2 to have food delivered please make sure its on time and hot! Waiting 1.25 hours takes the Mick...

Waited an hour after ordering , called up to be shouted at "yeah yeah it's coming" without asking our order number. On second call they said prob another 35 mins which basically to me, means they hadn't even started making the 2 sandwiches I had ordered . Waste of time and poor service for me - shame cos the food is nice when u actually get it

Food was super greasy and soaked in oil. The bag actually was leaking with oil when I got it and a quarter of my roasted potatoes container was filled with oil too (no exaggeration here). It advertisers itself as 'Greek', but the food was no different from any other Kebab Shop.

Takeaway or sit in. Low cost fast food but freshly prepared with lots of veggie options. We've been 3 times now always after theatre visits as there is not that much open late on Park Street.The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is prepared quickly and is always really tasty. Expect about £5 each max!

Awful. 1.5 hours late, soggy stale chips, the 'dips' were just mayonaise dumped in a burger box and smooshed everywhere. Stale bread, greasy. Swimming in oil INSIDE the bag. Just terrible and totally overpriced, what a disappointment. NEVER AGAIN.

We really wanted to try out this new greek restaurant. First our order got declined. So I rang up and asked why. And it was due to lack of staff... which can happen! We decided to wait for 2hours to get our food delivered then. AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT ! DELICIOUS ! nice staff & great food. I really hope it stays like that! Loved the food.
