Formerly The Olive Tree. The Navigator (Pub & Dining) is located at Bournemouth Airport on the “airside” for the exclusive use of passengers having cleared security. Having undergone a substantial refurbishment this venue is a fairly pleasant place to try & relax pre-flight. Well stocked bar. Extensive menù. Expect to pay airport prices. I have not eaten here, (only drank tea & coffee), so cannot comment on the quality of the food, but looking at meals served to other customers they appeared reasonably presented. Tables & chairs of various designs are reasonably well spaced, along with leather-style 2 seater settees. Numerous large potted plants/trees along with other decor soften the area somewhat. Staff pleasant & helpful. Good service. All clean & tidy. Large wall mounted flat screen TV’s. Toilets are shared airport facilities (not controlled by this establishment) so take them as found.

I cannot underline exactly how atrocious the quality of food is here. They may be experimenting with a new concept - some places have Triple-Cooked Chips, these are clearly One-Third-Cooked-Chips, anaemic, tasteless, just vile. Absolute rip-off too. Avoid at all costs, much preferable to go in the equally-ripping-off WH Smith and get a meal deal... at least that would be partially edible. Disgusting is far too generous an assessment.

I visited The Navigator on 2nd June with my wife and son for lunch before our flight. I ordered a burger which to be honest can only be described as vile, it cost around £12 and it was evidently heavily processed rubbish. I took one small bite and there were hard lumps of gristile in it. My sons mashed potato was of the powdered variety, it was definitely not real potato and looked/tasted like Smash. My wife and I ordered a side of carrots and broccoli and again the broccoli had gone off, it was brown and wilted around edges. I’m not normally one to complain but this place sold me terrible food for a ridiculous price and I feel it is a disgrace. If you are going to charge top dollar at the very least serve decent food. Powdered potato, wilted broccoli and burgers with bone for £40, what a bargain.

From the menu it may look good to have breakfast before an early flight at £7.95. Specially is you take into consideration that food at the airport are usually overpriced. But this one is not worth it. Is a lame breakfast consisting of a sorry Cumberland sausage smaller than a fish finger. a slice of bacon , and small cooked tomato, an egg and beans. All that could easily fit in a cereal bowl, the quality and quantity is not there. I wouldn't mind to pay a bit more as far as the portion are of a reasonable size.

Ordered breakfast before a flight. Awfully long wait just to even order to then proceed to find out it was ridiculously expensive. When receiving our food we got scrambled eggs instead of fried (not a massive issue I know) but when questioning the waiter he shrugged his shoulders and said ‘I don’t know’ and walked off. Unbelievable.

I visited The Olive Tree in August last year and gave a one star review. I visited again on June 29th with very little expectation, but, was pleasantly surprised. There were 4 or 5 members of staff behind the bar, all working extremely hard. Theft were all very friendly and efficient in doing their job. The long queues that I have experienced in the past weren't allowed to develop due to the efforts of the staff behind the bar. We ordered food which arrived promptly. The chips were tasty, but, my burger wasn't particularly hot. I would definitely use The Olive Tree again based on this experience.

Obviously a captive audience in an airport so without any other food outlets (other than a coffee bar that we spotted after or WHSmith) we had no choice. Ordered 2 breakfasts one meat breakfast with fried eggs and one veggie breakfast minus the roasted peppers and tomato (I know, I’m fussy) when it came out the meat one had scrambled egg (not fried as requested) with toast that was bread on the top and toast on the bottom and I’m not talking either side of the bread I’m talking as if you drew a line across it or popped it in the toaster with one half hanging out. The veggie breakfast (including the peppers I asked to be left off) came without toast (my fault for not understanding the menu properly, but who serves breakfast without toast?) the waiter said ‘do you want toast’ I said ‘yes please’ I took this to mean he was getting me some, never came back. The beans were cold, and not been sitting for a minute cold like hadn’t been heated cold. The eggs were snotty. Looked around for someone to talk to about my disappointment but there was now a queue as long as my arm at the bar and no one else in sight. Eventually when I told the same guy who had offered me toast how awful it was he just smiled and cleared my plates. For the price of that breakfast I think it was an absolute joke. Would have waited to talk the manager but I think I would have missed my flight. Confused at how over run they were as well, surely they are used to the patterns of busy trade times it’s the only eatery in the airport for goodness sake (after security).......maybe they hadn’t checked the flight times when making the rota. Can not deny that the staff were polite and the ordering process was fine (apart from getting both the meals wrong) coffee came out quickly. Colour me unimpressed!!

We visited here in July 2016 and had an awful experience but forgot to write about, but when it was similar this July, I remembered! They have a weird system of ordering for drinks AND food (so no quick drink either) where one person takes the order and pays and one other person makes the drinks - this is a major problem because two people are serving an entire airport. The queue is slow moving and unless you are in the first 4 expect to wait about 20 minutes. The first time, we waited 30 min to order, then over that for our food which was not great when it came, and it was so delayed that I had to put the sausages and chips in a plastic bag for the plane?! This year, we took a picnic through and managed to order our drinks in ok time, buy doubled up in case. Sure enough, people started queuing and the same people had moved very little in the queue after 20 minutes. Far more comical to watch than be in it - but it is just SO ridiculous. Stansted for example, have 1000's of people and the pub there hires enough staff and gets the food out within 15-20 minutes.A shambles.

We fly from Bournemouth at least once a year and visit The Olive Tree every time we fly. The service has never been good, but, now it is appalling. We flew on August 3rd. Upon arrival, there was one man behind the bar with 180 people due to arrive for an impending flight. He was taking drink and food orders on his own and in spite of his best efforts, he was struggling to cope with the number of people who required service.Once the queue got to about ten people waiting, a girl strolled over to the bar and started to help. However, she didn't start to serve new people, she just thought that she would help the person who was already being served. This meant that the queue got even longer and at one point there where over 20 people waiting to be served. The bar/restaurant is seriously understaffed and the organisation is non-existent. If I was the manager, I would be seriously embarrassed to be in charge of such an outlet. If I was the owner of Bournemouth airport, I would be looking to bring in new caterers who can cope with a handful of flights a day.

If I could give this a minus star rating I would! To be yelled at by the bar staff that we aren't being served for at least an hr because they have been busy and needed a break simply isn't good enough when people are excited for the start of there holidays! The bar was a tip, so granted they've been busy..... but all 4 bar staff and chef having 'a fag' followed by lunch together is unacceptable! Then to be told it's my fault for turning up to the airport an hour early, and that they are short staffed..... I simply cannot believe how disgusting their attitudes are! A little tip/ suggestion for you at the olive tree bar.....1. The huge display at the entrance says food and drinks ALL DAY, commit to it or change the signage 2. Learn some manners, you can get away with most things in life if your basic people skills. 3. 5 people having a break together is laughable, your all adults, go one at a time or if your that special, go in pairs! 4. You work in an airport, with actual people, be polite. Judging the experience myself and 99% of the other reviews on this page.... you need to look for different staff to run the place! So my overall experience has been quite frankly.... one of the worse I've had! However, the blonde lady in duty free was nice. After I explained that it's not the travellers fault that your short staffed! Even still sat here I'm being glared at by the short brunette bar lady

Early flight from Bournemouth so thought would be good plan to have breakie at the airport. Big mistake !- took the inept staff 15 minutes to take the order (not at all busy) then sat waiting 20 minutes for my bacon butty, as the flight boarding call was announced. Asked one chap where is food who said its probably round the back and would have a look in a minute. He obviously forgot so managed to catch another staff member who had a better memory and checked on the progress of my bacon butty. She told me its not ready I would have to wait a little longer!! I pointed out I could have reared the pig , slaughtered and butchered it quicker than the time its taken them to stick it in the microwave and butter a bloody roll. I advised them to forget it and lost £5 into the bargain. What is even more irritating is the fact I could not find a feedback form any where on their website- tells a story perhaps?

We had breakfast here as our flight was too early to eat at the hotel. They clearly know the flight times yet don't staff the place adequately. A 35 minute wait for breakfast after ordering left us wolfing it down and rushing for the last call for our flight. The staff were busy, there just weren't enough of them. Tables were left uncleared for all our visit as food was brought out but empties not removed. Those running this place clearly have zero concern for customers, staff to cut the bone and they rely on sheer volume rather than return custom as once you've tried it you won't be back.

When ours did come the burger was covered In Heaps of mayo, after scraping that off the actual burger was stone cold inside so we took it back for a refund and got a sandwich meal deal at WHSmith for £4 - which looks 100% better than the olive trees toasted sandwiches for £8 so glad we didn't waste money there. The mezze platter was really gross, two dried bits of falafel some Tortilla chips, big pile of hummus, two bits of garlic ciabatta and tatziki - just not worth the money to be honest and not tasty at all. My husband and I sat and waited patiently for our meals to be served. While we waiting we observed that there a number of uncleared and uncleaned tables left for some time in the area. We also noticed that groups of people were heading from their tables at different times to the serving counter to ask where their ordered meals were. There seemed to be an extremely limited number of staff working in the area and their method of working was what I would describe as chaotic and disorganised to say the least. When the food we ordered did eventually turn up (at least 30 minutes later), it turned out that there were no strawberries in the banana and strawberry porridge that I ordered. When I eventually flagged down a member of staff, they apologised and took my meal away. When they returned they said that did not have any strawberries, even though that is what I paid for. By the time this information was provided to me, my meal had gone cold and my husband and I were being called to the departure lounge. I had no time to eat my meal and as a result demanded a full refund of our bill. Luckily, our bill was refunded. However, because of the hold up in the restaurant, we had no time to enter the duty free shopping area and purchase what we wanted beforehand and found that we were up against the clock boarding our flights. What should have been a relaxing and pleasant beginning start to our holiday, was in actual fact a disappointing, stressful experience. I would also like to add that the menu was completely overpriced for what was provided!!

You can get burgers, soup, chips, jacket potato, child, salad etc, it was a bit like a weathersooons just much, much more expensive.

Must admit, I am surprised at reading some of the reviews. Fairly early flight so breakfast was always going to be part of the itinerary. There wasn't any wait for the food, it was hot and tasted quite nice and cost was not expensive.Yes the cost is more expensive but it's an airport and no different to any other airport, you will pay more. Maybe I was just lucky but I would eat there again. If you have the time go and enjoy breakfast and the start of your holiday. Don't be so grumpy about it

Average food, poor service.Ok, so there's probably an hour of nothing much going on, followed by an hour or two while a plane load of peckish passengers all order snacks at the same time. A challenge to many a cafe or restaurant. So how about injecting some good old-fashioned customer service & smiles? Two of the staff were almost at the point of arguing. As another reviewer suggests, we'll go next door to WHS next time.

Fifteen to twenty minute queue to be served. Waited 50 minutes for food (no delay mentioned when ordering ) Was told by a waiter that it would be with us "very soon" at which point I lost my cool and demanded to know how long exactly. So the waiter went away and the manager (?) came back with the cold half of the order and profuse apologies that the hot half (chicken wings) were all gone. Thanks to the manager who gave a full refund and a free carry-on sandwich for my wife, but the whole experience was completely unacceptable for a bar on the high street let alone in an airport lounge where your customers have limited timeframes. We left an hour and a half for a drink and a light meal. Apparently this is not enough for this establishment to even check that they have your choice in stock.

Early flight so maybe we we thought service and food was good. A little wait to be served but food came within 15 mins of being ordered. 6 of us ordered in pairs and food came within mins of each other. Food was hot and good. The only gripe was the price of the jam at 75p for a small pot of jam is a complete rip off when you have paid £2.50 for toast & butter.

At first glance this looks a bit like a pub bar serving food . . . so potentially OK . . . but don't be fooled by appearances. This is possibly one of the worst eating experiences you're ever likely to suffer. We'd arrived at lunchtime. The place wasn't particularly busy so we ordered a latte, an americano with cream, a Caesar salad and a Felafel burger with fries. Not much to go wrong here, you'd think? We then went to look for a table. It was hard to find one that wasn't in the icy downdraught of the over-efficient air-con system. We eventually found a booth towards the back of restaurant but the seating was cracked, scuffed and difficult to get into if you wanted to face out into the restaurant rather than staring at the back wall. With hindsight, we should have cancelled the order and walked out then, but we were hungry. The latte was thin and watery; the Americano similar, served with an excessively large amount of cream which failed to disguise a taste that was both sour and bitter. After an inordinately long wait, we had to ask the waitress when we might expect to see our food order. Eventually it arrived. The Caesar salad was heavy on rather wet lettuce but little else. The felafel burger arrived in a dried-out bun with warm fries on a cold plate. The burger was more than averagely heavy on chilli and should have carried a warning. I managed to eat some of fries but the cold plate eventually drained the last of their warmth and they were sent back. I was promised a fresh portion but, after waiting another 15 minutes, nothing had arrived. By that time, having had my taste buds duffed-up by the chilli in the Felefel burger, I'd rather gone off the idea of chips. An insult to both ingredients and customers and an indigestible start to your holiday. This place really is total disgrace that should be closed down and handed over a capable contractor . . . Greggs or Subway would represent a distinct improvement. Costa or Pret a Manger would seem heavenly by comparison.

£30 for two breakfasts, 2 toast and 2 hot drinks. Took half an hour to arrive and the place didn't seem that busy. A captive audience suffering 'Rip Off Britain' at it's best.

We dined here before a flight to Mallorca. It was quite expensive, about £30 for two mains and two drinks but tin at an airport so was expected. It was really quiet so we were served quickly and our meals were out within twenty minutes from ordering. The staff were friendly too, the place itself was a typical pub style decor but was clean. It's really the only option if you want a hot meal due to the airport being fairly small. I would eat again for a pre flight snack.

Unfortunately this is the only place for food or alcohol after security at Bournemouth Airport. Unless you're going to arrive 4 hours early for your flight, there really is no point joining the long queue to order food. The staff are useless, badly trained and appear to be lacking in any kind of common sense. They are not equipped to handle an influx of customers due to 2 flights taking off around the same time. Sadly, after queueing for 40 minutes to place an order, it was too late to have a proper meal, so a BLT sandwich it was. Had we known how useless the staff were then we would have got a bottle of water and a sandwich from the WHSmiths next door and spent the other 35 minutes watching the planes!

We ordered some chips and cheesy garlic bread for a pre flight snack, the chips were ok but the garlick bread was essentially melted cheese on bread, we asked for it to be crisped up and the results are, well no pre flight snack. Expensive for a poor attempt of a snack.

In Bournemouth airport right now writing this because of cancellation and delayed flights the olive tree was used for food and drinks for those who have been waiting. A voucher which has to be spent all at once so ordering food and around 4 drinks at once along with crisps and nuts because they can't have you coming up again. Staff, non of them speak English well enough to understand what you ask for and one had the cheek to say we now have to work to 12 we were meant to finish at 9. Well sorry love my flight was meant to take off at 5 and the next isn't apparently till past midnight. So excuse me for having no sympathy. Chairs not comfortable at all the food was horrible I'd if asked for a discount but the money was deducted from the voucher.

All airports seem to have overpriced food, probably because they know they have a captive audience and there isn't a choice of places to eat.The English Breakfast was definitely average, didn't include toast, and one of the hash browns seemed like it had been re-heated.The high point was the service. The girl serving was very friendly, and even offered tap water as an alternative to the expensive bottled water.

I guess these places have a captive audience so they can charge what they like, but it is very, very overpriced for small portions of what is essentially pub grub. The biggest disappointment was the waiting time for food - 45 minutes at lunchtime. When I asked why, the reply was "because we're busy". As a restaurant (of sorts) what were they expecting at lunchtime? A lull in business? Get more staff and train them how to cook food properly/quickly.Do yourself a favour and go and get a sandwich from the shop next door....

This is the bar/restaurant in the departure lounge it's so close to the departure gates and other shops. It's a great place to have a quick pint and a breakfast before you fly. But don't expect "like it looks like on other reviews!" Michelin standard but do expect a decent breakfast served quickly a cold fresh pint and/or a decent cup of coffee. Yes will go back if flying from Bournemouth airport again.

I'am reading some negative reviews, BUT THERE IS THREE RESTAURANTS there at Bournemouth Airport, all run by 'the Restaurant group plc' and I don't see what the fuss is about.Having tasted one of the Best Latte's at TWO OF THEIR RESTAURANTS (Estpresso located after security & opposite Olive Tree, and also at Joe's coffee shop located BEFORE SECURITY, Both served by the friendly Waitress 'Vanesa' - Smoothe, nice & hot and only costing £2.60, It was great for an airport coffee and good value. The whole experience at Bournemouth Airport was Fabulous, with friendly, helpful staff from check-in to Security and of course Vanesa's Lovely Latte both on our Onward and Return journeys.Thank you all for your wonderful help.

We ate here for lunch before we got on the airplane and we were not pleased. All of us ordered Paninis and only one ordered a jacket potato. After being told that they would be 15 minutes it ended up being half an hour. Very slow service, considering we ordered an easy meal to eat we were surprised. This isn't convient for people who are in a rush to get to their flight. After asking where our meal was 3X it finally came! Fairly average meal, it's a shame.

When you are the only cafe / bar in a departure lounge at an airport you would expect quality and service but you certainly don't get this at the olive treeWe were leaving on internal flight back home so airport not busy at this facility just they can't cope. Before we sat down and picked up a menu we were told by member of staff what meals weren't available We ordered just snacks of cheese toasty and wife had nachos. Both meals were poor and not worth half of the fiver each we paid.Ps message to the barman - if you want to hide and play on your mobile don't sit in the loo and then panic when customer comes in cos it don't look good

18th in line to place food order, 14mins to place the morning breakfast food order. A further 20 mins for the food to arrive. Poor location of food ordering cash register, £19.40 for two breakfasts and 2 hot drinks. Captive audience, shortage of staff at 7.00am in the morning for early morning Thompson flight - but food good upon arrival. Typical British mentality for poor service level, nobody in charge to manage the situation - reflects badly on the Airport service level!

Reality check, we are at Bournemouth International Airport, it is HALF TERM week and we are waiting for a flight to Lanzarote. food needed, so into the OLIVE TREE. OK it not palatial, it is fit for purpose. The breakfasts are freshly cooked and much appreciated, accepting the need to 'go up' and order the food was delivered promptly to the table. Probably, could be enhanced by more modern, new furniture but JOB DONE.....TIME FOR THE FLIGHT ,

I travelled to Turin from Bournemouth Airport last Sunday and had the worst experience at the Olive Tree "Restaurant". The staff were very rude and treated us like a conveyor belt, when we asked to speak to a manager about the service she said that the manager was too busy to speak with us. The food was cold, old and the beans had a crust over the top, my toast was burnt but no one cared. No wonder that everyone who was sitting in there was complaining to each other. The management have no idea, I've also called the environmental health as I saw disgusting things through the door to the kitchen. This is disgraceful, how can you run a business like that! DO NOT VISIT!

I must say that we were pleasantly surprised by the food that we were served here. We ordered Panini's which were really fresh and contained good quality Mediterranean style ingredients, we also had a kids burger which was 100% beef (no added fat) and was thicker than most adult portions served in alternative restaurants. We'd definitely return, although it's just a shame it can only be done when flying out on holiday!

Me and wife flew from Bournemouth airport last Monday lunchtime and decided to eat at the airport. We entered the Olive Tree and found and tried to find a clean table, which was impossible and had to clean it ourselves there was chips smashed on chairs, sticky table full of old plates, cups and cutlery. We chose two paninis and chips from the menu and ordered at the bar from a staff member who made us feel very unwelcome by carrying on a conversation she was having with another staff member whilst serving us, I didn't need to know what they were talking about......!! The food came, it was cold, the salad was dirty, definitely not fresh. The plate had old food on the bottom, disgusting!!! We had to complain to the waitress as we were told at the that no managers were available as they were on a break! Maybe your company should look at what your managers and staff are doing as they are not running the olive tree well.

Flying out of Bournemouth airport you are restricted on places to eat and or drink. Me and a mate chose this place as it seemed empty, now we understand why. When we walked in there was one person serving and it took ten minutes to place a drinks order while we looked at the menu. By the time we had our drinks and sat down there was a queue of approx. 30 people and with 2 bar staff moving incredibly slow we decided against ordering food. Thinking about it I don't think anyone else ordered food either. Would not recommend unless you have plenty of time to kill prior to your flight.

Food wasn't the best but wasn't the worst I've had and was overpriced for what you get. They really need more choice of dishes to offer. The general staff were really friendly and helpfull and really went out of their way to make our stay at the airport enjoyable ( we'd like to thank chris for his friendly quick till service, for his advice on what to eat/drink and the other advice he gave us, we'd also like to thank the waiting staff who were short staffed but giving 110 % effort to get food out as quick as possible.) Young male manager called Dan was rude and unhelpful thankfully he wasn't out front very long and Chris made up for that. Managers need to take some lessons from their staff on how to treat customer's and how to actually do some work like a team

Absolutely awful place. I tried booking a bottomless brunch but could not get hold of them at all, it was almost like they blocked my number. They hadn't organised anything, we had no menu, no pre orders and they wouldn't have even received the deposit if I hadn't gone down there myself. We ended up asking for the deposit back because we no longer had a booking due to their terrible organisation. Deposit refund was refused and they held no accountability despite being unable to provide any food. I would strongly advise avoiding this place at all costs.
