We are not from Poulton but were staying with friends last night. The landlady remembered us from over a year ago and gave a warm welcome. The band they had on was amazing, the atmosphere was great, the prices reasonable and the place felt safe..... If you go to Poulton I would recommend a visit ......

Traditional nice and warm pub. Wine doesn't bowl me over but it is comfortable in there.

Sports bar. Unfortunately, no food is available.

Called in on a recent trip didn't eat bar was quite packed plenty sports on if your wanting to watch it back ground music also plays if your nit interested I sports staff friendly and quick to serve you

Fantastic real ale town centre pub with at least 5 different ales on. Tonight the Titanic Plum Porter was a delight!

Visiting friends in Poulton tow of us took the walk to The Old Town Hall for a few drinks Saturday afternoon. My first time in the pub and I enjoyed not only the friendly atmosphere of a typical drinking pub but also the excellent choice of ales and lagers.

A great relaxed atmosphere. Marvelous staff. Made to feel welcome from day 1.

Always a good selection of well kept real ales. Service is quick and friendly and prices very decent. TVs showing major sporting events. A really good place to meet friends for a beer and a chat. Lovely location near St Chad's Church in Poulton's historic centre. The landlady is very friendly, welcoming and charming.

Decent pub great choice of ales and lagers

Been going in for years unfortunately things have changed as regarding its still a lovely pub but its becoming more like crufts and a creche and no one seems to take control of the situation I'm a dog lover and grandparent but i would never let the dogs on the seating people spend a lot of money on clothes and the last thing they want when standing up is to be covered in dog hair ot worse as for children pls parents av some consideration for others within the pub it's a pub and all customers deserve respect

Treated horribly as young people just coming for a drink for a mates birthday and his funeral tomorrow. ‘Member of staff’ with no uniform checking us all and just not feeling welcome in a pub we don’t live far from. KAREN made us feel horrible

Went Saturday when in Poulton for birthday bash .No group on but plenty of real ales

Walked in there at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon for some drinks and to play pool. Put money in the pool table and within minutes the staff are telling the customers to come over and ask in front of the whole pub if we are going to buy a drink? Humiliating and absolutely ridiculous. Obviously we were going to buy a drink, maybe give us chance before shouting in a pub? Will never step foot in here again. This is how to lose customers. Would put 0 if I could.

Security staff (No SIA badges showing) searched our bags on arrival then took them off us as we walked in bags were left near the front door, we then reported to the manager who quickly gave us them back, Reported to SIA. 11/08/23.

I finit a bit dingy and drinks are expensive.

Agree with the previous reviewer, they need to remove the term ‘Wine Bar’. They serve that revolting ‘Jack Rabbit’ stuff which is an insult.

Open plan bar + side and pool room. Upstairs function room. 6 h / pulls good choice of beers. Friendly staff.

Nice pub from the outside and inside. It would be lovely if the fireplace was fully functional, especially at this time of year!

Excellent pub, excellent staff, excellent customers. That limits the amount of excellent I can think of. Traditional pub. It was a home from home for me. Try it out, you won't regret it.

Chilled environment & great place to go

I live in Blackpool but Go to poulton most Sundays and Mondays, the old town hall has an excellent choice of cask ales, very friendly manager and staff, the beer is always served at the correct temperature and always crystal clear, well done the old town hall, highly recommended

This is how pubs should be. Good beer, good service and good atmosphere. How things were years ago. Really enjoy every visit.

The beer is very good and there is CAMRA discount.

Good choice of beers and has a Jukebox, Jukebox is great when the pubs not mad busy, when it is you can barely hear it.

Fantastic pub. Extremely friendly staff, can't do enough for elderly and disabled people. Sonia is a great Manager and her staff are wonderful.

The Old Town has a classic pub interior, a decent wine list and a good range of craft beers. I've not eaten there so can't comment on the food. Potential customers should be warned however, that is a bit dark and dingy and the acoustics are not perfect. Toilets are also dated. It's an independent pub, so if you want to support local pubs, come here.

Great beer and live music too. Went to see a band called Northern Alibi, it turned out that another band called hot picks were on instead. Really talented so I guess they only book good musicians. Will definitely be going back.

The Old Town Hall is quite a traditional pub and definitely not a wine bar. Half a dozen handpumps offer a range of changing cask ales and like most other pubs in Poulton CAMRA discount is offered.
