The Old Stone Cross in Tamworth

Great management great staff all very friendly an courteous, all the regulars know one aneanother it’s like a big happy pub family however new customers are always welcomed. There is a wide variety of drinks beers bottled an draught also lots of offers on shots also a gin selection which is very reasonably priced, my favourite place to drink an have a laugh at the weekend I also feel very safe and comfortable!!

As I was hobbling through Tamworth on a long-distance hike, this was the first pub I saw, so I came in for a couple of pints of Coke and a lager. It was a Friday afternoon, with plenty of customers in already. I went in the smaller bar room and sat watching the cricket. Locals were extremely friendly. One, a lovely man called Steve, who used to be a cricketer himself, kindly bought me a drink. Folks were helpful about my planned route. Bar staff on the ball and very friendly as well. Nothing better on a solitary hike than to come into a jolly boozer like this one, where you're treated kindly and made welcome. It left me with a warm impression not only of this excellent pub but of the people of Tamworth. Much love to The Old Stone Cross.
