As always. Fantastic food and service. Love this place, it’s now our go to ‘date night’ place! Lovely atmosphere and wide range of drinks! Plenty of parking too!

Nice pub and food is good however parking is not great as you are limited on time. It takes the edge off the evening if you are watching the clock to ensure you don't get a £100 fine. Not sure I would class it as 'very' dog friendly either. Booked a table online and indicated I would have a small well behaved dog with me. Arrived and was shown to a table in the (completely empty) restaurant area. The table had a dog bowl of water next to it but after a few minutes the manager came over and told me firmly that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant! We had no problem with eating in the bar area (and moved immediately) however they knew I would have a dog with me and they allocated the table. They also showed me to the table along with my dog. The manager was nice enough once she had checked my booking and realised it was their error but I didn't feel particularly welcome after this incident and sadly would not go back

We visited with friends on Saturday, we got served promptly which was amazing considering the three bar staff was run off their feet !! The place was packed , within 10 mins of us arriving the barman had to close the bar because there were no glasses ! I would strongly suggest the manager takes a serious look at staffing the pub appropriately so that customers can enjoy many a drink and the bar staff don’t end up having a heart attack!!! I felt for the three bar staff who done their upmost to keep customers happy in very poor circumstances

Visited yesterday (18/2) for Sunday lunch with my mom and sister (who is in large wheelchair) and the place couldn’t have been more accommodating or welcoming. Sam (the manager I think) was friendly and helpful and appeared to be running the place on his own. The food was excellent (not sure if Sam was the chef also) for all of our group. I would thoroughly recommend a visit and we will definitely be back. Thank you.

The food and the service was great, We ordered from the app eveything came on time. The manager was great and went avove and beyond to correct an issue we had with a chocolate. Would definately vome back. Very Happy customer.

We have been here many times over the last few years, but the cost of just 2 drinks crippled our wallet. How do you justify charging nearly £11 for just one 250ml glass of wine in an average pub when the average price anywhere is £6-£6.50 and the most expensive bars and hotels charge £7.50-£8.50? They must be raking the money in at the expense of their customers. What made it worse was that my partner accidentally knocked her glass over and lost half of it. Over £5 worth down the drain. I know that they are not obliged, but many places would have topped it up after we mentioned it. The member of staff wiped the table and when I mentioned the pool of wine on the floor, he just said that his job was just to clean tables and that his job specification didn't stretch to the floor. One drink was enough for us and we won't be going back. We regularly drink and eat in Mere Green, but this will be the pub that we'll give a miss every time.

Awful customer service. Was given a wine glass with lipstick mark left on it. One member of staff in particular was terrible, Aaron. Told me to just wipe the glass with a tissue because he’s ‘too tired’ to get me a replacement. Spoke to someone else and they was happy to sort it

Great lunch time offer only spent a tenner and got a nice meal - always beats a wetherspoons in quality and in this instance price too because it came with a drink

31 Oct 2023. First round of drinks large Shiraz and a Peroni beer came to just over £12. (No happy hour). Second round, same drinks came to over £17. Third round of same drinks: over £17. When I enquired why the last two rounds cost £ 5 more I was told that there are 2 types of Shiraz. A few minutes later the same bearded barman who charged £17 came to our table, aplogised and tried to explain himself again. A few minutes following that he came to the table with a further glass of Shiraz, with no explanation. I think we may have been overcharged by £10. I feel this to be so.

Don't usually visit but I'm glad I did staff are lovely but Grace was the one person that really stood out she made us feel very welcomed

Great food, the flat iron steak was lovely and I tried a new lager which I’ve never seen before which was recommended by the bar staff. Will definitely be back for another Flint Eye

Popped in here for a midweek lunch, had some great food, great coffee and fantastic service from Jon. Few good places to eat round here but this place probably tops them.

The welcome on arrival was lovely, very friendly and welcoming. Everywhere was lovely and clean and the waiter service was excellent. Food was served in a timely manner and was hot. Unfortunately my food was overcooked, and the pie casing was overly crusty (hard) with little to no meat inside, but what was inside was tasty. Microwaved mash was tasty but dry and overheated. My partners fish was also overdone, but the portion size was good. The mushy peas, however, were approx a tablespoon full which was disappointing. Side order of onion rings were nice though. All in all, we would visit again for a drink but not for food. I had a pub voucher to use, but without that, I would have begrudged paying the bill for what was served.

I had a very nice burger and the service was great. The tables were clean and the portion sizes were good.

Sam and Debbie were the perfect hosts. Food was top class and really good value . I only popped in for a quick bite and 2 hours later I was still there . Great vibe and amazing bar staff

Visited here for the first time, won’t be the last. Lovely atmosphere and a great setting. We ate quite early (5pm) so it was fairly quiet still. The food arrived promptly and was very well presented. Absolutely no complaints on the quality or portion size. If you’re looking for a nice meal in a lovely old feeling pub/restaurant then this is the place. Very reasonably priced for the standard of food also. We will definitely be back. Situated next to a large parking area with access to other bars and restaurants.

Another great meal at the old school house. I’ve been coming here for a few years and as always had a good time. Nice atmosphere, good food and great staff - especially Debbie and Connor! If you haven’t been, I’d definitely recommend giving it a go.
