The Old Ship Inn in Hackney

Tuve una muy mala experiencia en este pub! Fui con unos amigos a ver el partido de Inglaterra, dos de mis amigos no tenían sus identificaciones, que fue su error, pero no fueron revisados a su llegada. Aquellos de nosotros que trajimos sus identificaciones nos compramos pintas y una comida de pollo para compartir. En 15 minutos, cuando todo estaba cómodo y el partido en Inglaterra estaba en marcha, uno de los miembros del personal se acercó a nosotros y dijo que no teníamos identificaciones, a pesar de que sabía que la mayoría del partido lo hacía. Cuando mis dos amigas dijeron que no tenían la suya ella dijo que teníamos que irnos (pinta literalmente en la mano) debido a la concesión de licencias. Le contamos sobre el pollo al que volvió para hablar con el condescendiente que bordea el barman grosero. Dijo que harían que nos llevaran pollo y que tendrían que irse de inmediato, sin disculpas. Cuando no pensamos que podría empeorar tener que ver tanto partido de Inglaterra antes de saber que nos iban a pedir que nos fuéramos, la señora volvió para decirnos que su jefe dijo que la gente sin identificación necesita irse inmediatamente y esperar a su pollo afuera! Honestamente desearíamos haber pedido nuestro dinero allí y luego el servicio al cliente completamente espantoso para pagar ID de clientes o no! Cuando el pollo llegó nos movieron directamente y cuando miramos dentro no había cubiertos, servilletas o ensalada de col que se suponía que venía con como se anuncia. Lo que yo diría es evitar este pub si usted está buscando un servicio al cliente amable! Personal muy grosero, no recomendaría.

Stopped for a couple of hours before a gig locally and had some beers and the smash burger. Burger was nice, and the one new beer I tried - Kapow pale ale, was great. Staff were helpful and friendly. Toilets could be cleaner, the Gents was quite damp underfoot, so could do with a regular visit from a mop and bucket.

Friendly, traditional pub, tucked away just off the main street through Hackney, minutes walk from Central and Downs stations. There are usually two or three decent ales on offer, nothing local at the time of our visit, although I understand that is not always the case. Regarding food, the house speciality is Rotisserie Chicken, available in quarter, half or whole chicken portions. For most people I would think half is about the right size - this is reasonably priced at £10.50 but chips are extra and at £5 are a little on the steep side. The chicken was very well prepared, moist and succulent, and served with a choice of sauces. As well as that, they do burgers, wraps and a few other bits and pieces.

Dejlig mad og god betjening. Rigtig sød Betjening, god mad til prisen. Der er overnatning på stedet - det skal jeg prøve en anden gang. God cæsar salat og og gode burgere.

What a con. Offered 20% discount on food and drink so we decided to eat and drink there even though we didn’t intend to. Never got the 20% discount and in fact ended up getting significantly over charged for a bottle of wine too. Have emailed property several times no response apart from one phone call with no message left and just the phone slammed down. Extremely poor customer services and fraudulent activity making guests eat in their establishment. A complete rip off and a con.

Went in on Saturday early evening for a quick drink and some nosh. Excellent menu, the Spicy Black Bean Burger was terrific. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere, and a good choice of music. Just a pity Boris and his Project Fear cronies have scared most people away. Come on people, support these places or they will disappear.

Small restaurant close to a big theatre. It looked a little grotty, but turned out to be perfectly. Good seafood and excellent crumble for dessert.

Sian and co. took spectacular care of us and our two small kids. Came in for 1215, plenty space for prams, lovely to kids. Excellent local beers. I’m a cask guy and they had 2 from Redemption and one from 5 points. Really nice burgers and salads (pass on the guacamole though). This is our new favourite local, for food with kids. Thanks Sian!

Very disappointing. I booked a table online from 12:30 - 2:15 for a work lunch to make sure others coming from other offices could join us. The Old Ship altered this however to until only 1:30, looking back now the email does say that but as the subject line was ‘confirmation of your booking’ I didn’t check further. No-one called me to check the change was ok, or make sure we understood. No one mentioned it when we arrived and sadly we were unceremonially booted off the table at 1:30 with us all at various stages of eating & drinking. Chaotic scenes then followed as we tried to pay from the standing position as the table was reset & new people arrived for the table. 2 colleagues arrived at 1:15 so were hoofed out before they’d even eaten! A call would’ve been really useful to discuss the change as would mentioning it when we arrived. Great food BTW, just poor customer care and lack of concern as my complaint email to them then went unanswered or acknowledged.

Had my birthday party there. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Food was good and everyone had a good time.

Pretty surprised by this little pub hidden in Hackney. The style is pretty British and full of local people and foreigners coming from the hotel in the upper part of the building. Also the food was a little surprise in line with Nando’s if we want to compare.

The outside of the pub undersells the inside. Bright and rustic and well laid out. Had the whole chicken which was half price on Monday. Juicy all the way through and highly recommend the Dalston sauce, serious heat and spicy. Even my partner liked the sauce and she does not normally like hot sauce. She had the vegetarian Beetroot burger and loved . I tried it it was good and very well seasoned. All in all, for my first time I will be back.

Lovely to find this place just before we went for a blues jam nearby. Very small entrance but attractive so it got our attention and we glad we wandered in as the pub is big inside! Had lovely mango chicken and avocado chicken salad, deep fried squid and fried chicken wings. Lovely place and would like to come back again for the amazing looking burger!

I came to the Old Ship for a few beers and overall I was impressed with the pub. The interior was nice in the pub and there was a good range of beers and other drinks. Prices were very reasonable considering how nice the interior was . The pub is located near to Hackney Central station and accepts Amex.

Not a biggie, however, if you don’t want under 18’s in the bar at 5.45 on a Saturday afternoon can you put a sign on the door or your website. Thanks

Don’t be put off my the entrance off the high street as once you get inside it’s charming, rustic and delightful place with an electric buzz The menu is small but the food is very yummy Friendly fast service, all you could ask for, a real Hackney gem of a place Only down side were the toilets not very clean at all ☹️

It’s a great local pub to have. Great service and with a decent Sunday roast amazing veg! But wish the beef was a little for flavourful.

Those huge G+T glasses were delicious and also BEAUTIFUL. Falafel sandwich also pretty good. Fun pub atmosphere.

Me alojé en este pequeño hotel en febrero de 2019 por 1 noche. Las habitaciones del hotel están encima de un pub. En el registro me dijeron que "habían tenido un problema con su sistema" y que no habían recibido mi reserva prepaga para una habitación familiar grande. La señora explicó que tenían una habitación, pero hacía mucho ruido con un ruido extraño que provenía de la pared. "¿Podría aguantar esto? " Me preguntaron. "Err no. Realmente no". "Puedo ofrecerte un descuento" "Err aún no" Ok "ella dijo" déjame ver qué puedo hacer "Ella regresó con las llaves de una habitación y subí. Sólo para descubrir que era, de hecho, la habitación ruidosa. Era tarde, estaba cansado, y esta era la única habitación disponible. Así que me quedé y tuve una noche horrible. Plane quejarme en el check out. Pero en la mañana no había nadie de la gerencia disponible. Así que me fui.

Un mélange de pub avec une pression locale délicieuse et de resto burger avec un spécial végétarien à base de steak de betterave et fêta... Un délice

Tengo que decir, nos sorprendió gratamente con este lugar. . . . un ambiente realmente cómodo desde el momento en que llegamos y una gran selección de cervezas.

Beautiful food served by beautiful people! As vegans we opted for the Falafel Burger, but there was a nice range of Vegan dishes to choose from. Breakfast was great too, continental and cooked.

Good food, they seem to favour chicken dishes, with great value for money. Close to the moth. Will definitely visit again next time I’m around for a gig.

We popped in for lunch before a wedding and the quick rotisserie chicken with jerk sauce was perfect. Eight of us served in no time but every dish spot on with fun friendly service.

Stopped after a performance at Hackney Empire, it's right next door so very convenient.

Fell across this little place before a gig at paper dress on Tuesday night. We had a a lovely meal which was served quick - both had burgers he had cheese & I had veggie. Both substantial- would recommend it if your in the area.

Ver un letrero para el barco viejo colgando a un callejón invita investigación. El callejón es la primera cosa que te sorprende, ya que está adornado con una gran variedad de obras de arte locales. Al entrar en el pub en sí, te enfrentas con lo que supongo que es la definición de diccionario de East London guay. Una buena variedad de bebidas disponibles, incluyendo un buen surtido de ale (tick! ). La comida es bastante limitado pero en calidad y el ambiente es perfecto tanto en su propio, en un pequeño grupo, o para un grupo grande. Tengo la intención de probar una de las habitaciones boutique pronto. Realmente no me esperaba encontrar un lugar como este en Hackney , (una parte de Londres que siempre he encontrado un poco "apariencia") pero me gusta este lugar y pensamos que frecuentar! Recomendado.

Good food, proper music ( no modern rubbish) and at a good volume! I am no old git, love loud live music , but when I am out on a Monday night for some scran, like music that doesn't cause headache due to volume... this place perfect !

Situado en un pequeño sendero, inmediatamente detrás de la Hackney , Empire es un pub con algunos muy buena comida. La hamburguesa y patatas fritas eran significativamente mejor que la habitual comida de bar y el personal amable. Buena IPA también.

Comimos en el barco antiguo antes de asistir a un espectáculo en la puerta al lado del imperio. Hackney , El servicio fue excelente, nos sirvieron muy rápido y la comida era excelente, muy buena relación calidad-precio. Sin duda comer aquí de nuevo y decirle a amigos y familiares del gran servicio.

Alojarse en el hotel, decidimos quedarnos a almorzar como el aroma de la cocina era fantástico. Aunque era comida de pub y ambiente (nada de malo en eso) la carne asada es deliciosa y abundante. Solo el trabajo.

Llamé para reservar una mesa, ya que era el cumpleaños de mi hija y estábamos en Hackney , con amigos. Persona que me contesto fue muy servicial y amable. Llegamos, nos sentamos y nos sirven bien. Servicio 10 de 10, no me puedo quejar. La comida estaba muy buena, excelente relación calidad-precio y muy sabroso.

Así que después de lunching localmente en Hackney ,, decidimos tener una buena ponerse copa con los amigos. Nos tropezamos TOSI, escondido cerca del imperio.

Hamburguesas con gran sabor. Curry y batata en una hamburguesa era una buena idea! La cocina sirve comida rápida. Lunes y Martes fue 2 - 4 - 1 hamburguesas.

Esta fue sin duda la mejor comida de bar que he probado. Cerveza de barril era buena. Fue mi primera aventura a American cerveza y me sorprendió gratamente.

La calidad de la comida y un ambiente encantador relajado, me alojé en el hotel por 2 noches y cenamos en el pub de ambas noches. Lo recomiendo altamente.

El servicio era estupendo y el camarero era generosa tomando varias fotografías durante toda la comida. Los asados de carne y cerdo estaban bien hechas. El brownie caliente con helado de vainilla cubiertas era grande, abundante, y muy buena. En resumen, todo fue muy bueno.

Metimos en un par de tragos antes de un concierto en el Oslo gustó tanto la comida. Los 3 de nosotros disfrutamos nuestras comidas me encantó el lugar gran encantadora camarera personal. Volveremos.

Le lieu est très moderne et très lumineux.Les plats sont très, trop, bien servi mais pas mauvais du tout.La cuisine manque de finesse et de caractère .Le service était lent mais toujours avec le sourire.

The pub itself is really cozy and nice. Plus they have really good burgers and nice beers. On Mondays and Tuesdays they do 2x1 burgers, which is super cool.

After going to La Chappell, near Spittlefields and having a rubbish meal with our friends at the beginning of the month, I suggested to my husband to come to the Old Ship Inn for lunch before we went to watch a film across the road. He loves The Old Ship Inn. Thank goodness ; because it's a favourite of mine and our son's, but he's never been with us. I had the chicken and 2 salads (which we shared), he had the cheese burger and shared his chips with me. He's still talking about the difference in the two restaurants today. He loved The Old Ship Inn, and will be back again. Thank you for doing a great job.

很有氛围的酒吧 就餐一般。由于在old ship入住，晚上从酒吧进入，感受了下氛围还不错，大多是当地人，没有乱糟糟的感觉。酒吧服务生超级nice，体现了腐国的绅士风度，帮我把行李拿到三楼 没有电梯 而且人也很帅！在这里吃了几次早餐，跟大酒店没法比吧。但也算齐全，也有能吃的东东，比如煎蛋 麦片 烤面包片。

From the freshly prepared cooked breakfast to the deliciously fresh chicken and mango salad to the comforting shredded chicken burger, everything I ate at The Old Ship was top quality and fantastic value for money.

Serves good food, a little pricey, but great location. Friends have stayed in their family rooms and rated it highly. Every time we go we seem to time it when several menu items have run out but we've always really enjoyed eating here, food good quality.

Turn s is a trendy and popular pub in the heart of Hackney. Greet food, friendly staff and the perfect place to relax after work or at weekends. Love the place.

We have been here on a few occasions, but only ever for drinks. This time we came as a big group for a Sunday lunch.Despite having booked, our reservation hadn't been logged, but they were totally flexible and promptly arranged some tables for us.The menu was small, but everything on there was something I would have eaten. 3 roasts and delicious vegetarian option. The food itself was great. Really tasty and generous portion sizes. My only tiny complaint is that the plates weren't hot, so my dinner was cold by the time I finished eating it. But delicious none the less.Always a great atmosphere and nice people in the pub.

Vi har vært her flere ganger når vi har vært i Hackney. Hyggelig atmosfære og god service. Menyen er enkel, men maten er velsmakende. Vi kommer helt sikkert tilbake.

Beneath its some what hipster-ish interior design, this is a friendly place to eat. The two for one burgers Monday and Tuesday are amazing value for fresh quality food.

Arrived on hot busy Friday lunch - 1 man doing drinks and taking orders meant a needless 15 minute wait for a drink ( lots of other staff loitering around doing little)Main courses arrived 15 minutes apart - when I complained saw the missing meal being microwaved - when it arrived was no apology. The location is admittedly lovely but this pub needs a decent manager badly...
