The Dove in Hackney

I went with a group of friends for the Doves lovely drinks, but then came across the new pizza menu. I had never heard of a Taverna pizza before, but they were absolutely delicious. We had a margarita and meat lovers and they were both gorgeous. How did chips and truffle tips to share. Wow

The Dove in Broadway Market is a fantastic pub that offers tremendous pizza and a heavenly selection of the finest Belgium beers anyone will ever have. This is a go to destination if you want great food, great drinks and great service. The Dove delivers in so many ways and you will not be disappointed!!

this is a spot I constantly come back to, every time a friend visits over the weekend we come here for a pint. the cider is absolutely amazing and totally worth it. great location just on the market, staff are lovely and the vibes are on point

A Hackney institution, especially great for Belgian bottled beers. A terrific atmosphere here on a Friday evening, with crowds spilling out on to the street. A shame to see no cask ale on my visit.

The pizza was incredible flew all the way from Miami to see my boys Max and Ed. Very attractive lads, great pizza even better service!

More than 6 quid a pint and awful accessibility ! I waited for 10 mins to use the 'accessible loo' then realised it was in fact locked and i would have to ask permission from staff to go for a piss (which is embarrassing and awkward whether you do or dont have a visible disability). None of their staff thought to approach me to a offer me access to the loo or ask me if i was alright or knew that it was locked. Theres no signage for the alternative toilets and no signage indicating that tue access loo is locked and that you have to ask permission to piss

Cool bar, hip clientele, great service from friendly staff and excellent food. One of my favourite bars in London.

I hadn't been in here for over 10 years so I'm glad to see it's still going. They were always known for their Belgian beer selection which they still maintain. A good selection of gueze and lambics in the fridges as well. Quirky interior, feels homely. Great location. Recommended

Go deeper in the pub, there is a balcony and nice seats in other rooms.

I’ve been going to this pub for years and spent a fair amount of money in this pub, I was walking past today and needed to Use the bathroom so I went in to use it before a older blonde woman I believe to be the manager asked “what do you want” I then replied that I need to use the bathroom when she the replied sorry customers only and pointed toward the door In a very rude manor, will never go back to this place ever again.

A nice enough pub with ok food .

Busy pub on Broadway Market. It's a bit of a tourist hotspot, but the interior is great with ample seating, and you can even drink out front while watching the busy market. The service is average to bad, with some staff being disinterested or inexperienced. There's a great selection of beers, though the quality of the pour (especially for lager) isn't the best. Overall, it's a nice-looking pub with a good selection, but the service and tourist vibes let it down.

It’s a lovely pub and it does delicious veggie, gluten free fish and chips! They also have separate fryers so as a coeliac it’s brilliant. Super friendly service too

It used to be quite a fresh looking pub. The interior goes for shabby shield but it is now just shabby. It was packed to the brim so perhaps I am just too old for the place.

Called in on Bank Holiday Monday for a Belgium beer or two and some food. Excellent service from the person serving and we particularly liked the manager checking that the beer had been served in the correct glasses ( they had).

Lovely pub. Nice well worn interior, big selection of Belgian beers and decent prices (£5.80 for the Campus Premium Belgian house lager).

Great place to end a walk or ride along Regents Canal, especially if you like a good Belgian beer … make sure you sit out in the sun!

Food just underlined the problem with uk Sunday roasts. Total crap. Too much salt. Glue sticky gravy. Suspect beef slices. Suspect that they were just heated up from the fridge. Will be glad to get back to something better in France.

What happened to this place? Patronising rude staff. Some really weird changes to the interiors with awful urinal stalls randomly plonked. Seems proper run down.

This Sunday roast is awesome! Such a large serving for the price and nice to get out of the centre of London for something different. They were able to accomodate our family of 13 and gave some Mother’s Day presents to all the mums as well! They didn’t have a written kids menu but were still able to organise kids portions and options which is great. It is small and cozy so be prepared! The service was great too.

This used to be a great spot for a good Sunday lunch but now it’s more like a fast food restaurant. The great selection of beer is still there but the food is not great and certainly overpriced for what you get. The staff seem a little too preoccupied like you’re doing them a favor when ordering. On top of that the whole establishment needs a good clean. The only thing in their favour is the location.

Stale beer , served in a warm glass, horrible food, a portion of fries with a pre poured thimble of mayo that had a skin on it for £7🤮 , I used to like the place but it's so bad now I can't justify another visit, too many better places around.

Ive ordered a food from a barman and a girl joind the chat and told me : “ we can’t make the burger but you can find the week menu on the wall” I’ve just reply :”where are you from?” (Because I ear a familiar accent) She replied me: “I am spanish but check the menu and tell me what do you want” in a very rude way also the other guest was surprised for her very rude reply. I do exactly the same job and that is unacceptable. i was a royalty customer but I will never go back to this place you can’t be rude like that with a customer.

Good pub, wide range of beers including some cask beers. Plenty of local brewery interest. Old and well worn interior. Food menu is good, including vegetarian and vegan options ( but then it is Broadway Market and Hackney!) Pleasant and helpful staff. Not cheap, I know it's London (not Leeds where you can still get a pint of local cask beer for under £4) but I thought it was expensive even for London. A pint and a half of local (keg) Pale and Schooner of something else came to over £16 - which I thought was a bit over the top. All said, nice pub, good beer, decent food.

Great experience and range of Belgium beers with ultra knowledgeable staff. Used to go regularly in the 90s and was pleased to stay there for 4-5 hours on this 'reminiscing' visit.

Good selection of Belgium beers on tap but shame about the really rude staff incl the moody bald dude who we assume is the proprietor. Expect to be made to feel very unwelcome at times

Great Sunday roast, also suitable for celiacs (gluten) and those aware of any intolerance.

Whenever I’m Hackney, this is my go-to pub. It’s big so you can nearly always get a seat. There’s of loads of interesting beers and the food is lovely. And the atmosphere is nice old pub vibes.

Sunday roast was good. Beers good, but the service was really poor. The server was friendly, but seemed too busy to be able to manage well, even though the place wasn't packed!

I had been to the Dove previously and had thought the Thai Curry was tasty and good value. The pub is lovely with a good selection of drinks on tap. Yesterday however it was a whole different story. I ordered a Thai prawn green curry which was £ 16.00. It had big hunks of potato and carrot in it which I don't recall ever having in a coconut based curry before. It seemed they had been used as bulk and I saw no evidence of any Asian vegetables. The prawns could only be described as frozen shrimp, totally tiny and tasteless. If you no longer have a cook capable of making a decent Thai Green Curry perhaps you should take it off the menu. I ate it all because I was hungry and it was warming but otherwise, I was sorely disappointed.

this sunday roast was completely unacceptable. we waited 50 minutes for the food only for the roast beef to look AND taste like microwaveable lunch meat.

Have always loved coming here for a drink. However, beef roast was not on today… maybe it was just a bad day, we all have bad days after all. Nice game of scrabble though.

I ask the Thai empress for her name, she writes her number on a golden napkin, she sells sanctuary on a Golden Fleece. I smile as I now understand the journey through which the Zarathustra soars, the sky through which my eternal Thai paramour and I will dance. I will now return every Tuesday and Fridays nights 20:00 on the dot to see my future Thai bride. Don’t contradict me.

Great beers selection, always nice atmosphere and friendly service. PS if you order the chips they actually give you lots of them ;)

I love visiting The Dove. Great selection of beers and on most days staff who know what they’re doing with them. It’s a nice atmosphere - normally busy and noisy but friendly. Just wish there were more outdoor seats but in fairness it’s lovely inside! Both Two of my children live within 10 mins walk so it’s a regular go to place for us.

Only given them a star because I love their selection of Belgium beers. Although, it can be really noisy and hard to have a conversation I miss the Belgian hot dog and Mac cheese that they took of the menu. Wish they would stick with Belgian food and not mix it up

Fantastic food. A good selection of ales. The atmosphere was okay. I did have an extremely loud and socially unaware person screeching and talking a few tables away but, after moving, into the rear area it was fine.

Had my parents over from Australia and wanted to take them to a nice Sunday roast. I found this place online that clearly is advertising Sunday roast. We get there and ask for the sunday lunch menu only to be told that they don't do Sunday roasts and they know that they should take it off their website. Absolutely disappointed and in disbelief. We booked this well in advance and was really looking forward to it. What a terrible establishment. Will never go back

Very nice pub in the cool area of Hackney. I had a creative version of Fish and Chips and some excellent beers from interesting new breweries. The crowd was obviously quite trendy, full of students and young creatives, excellent buzz in that area. I need to go again!

Up there with my favourite London pubs. Jaw dropping range of beers, super cool interior (lots of characterful little wood panelled alcoves where you can chat with friends) and cool staff.

Budvar as the non-alcoholic beer of choice isn’t the best in the world but adequate I guess. Prices are quite expensive as usual for London. Atmosphere is very cozy.

Lovely pub serving a fantastic range of beers. Really great buzz about the place, facilitated by the friendly staff. Lots of outside seating so you normally get a table. Highly recommended

Lackluster atmosphere. Particularly surly staff. Utterly overpriced drinks. Wouldn't recommend. All in all an underwhelming experience. Try the Perservance which is further along Broadway Mkt.

Good evening ruined by incredibly rude female staff. Aggressive, threatening behaviour, ignorant of the idea of basic human respect and patience. Thoroughly inappropriate and repellent, arrogant attitude. You have what you cultivate....

Despite being stranded in the middle of the tourist trap that Broadway Market is becoming, this is an authentic and distinct pub experience. Belgian beer, well worn decor and friendly looked-after staff. Well worth a visit! #5 #40

Great place to stop on Broadway Market if you can get a table. Delicious cider options and they do a really good Aperol Spritz. Definitely recommend coming here with a group of friends and playing a board game.
