Great atmospheric pub on Broadway Market. Lots of interesting beers

What happened to this place? Patronising rude staff. Some really weird changes to the interiors with awful urinal stalls randomly plonked. Seems proper run down.

Nice pub with a great selection of Belgian beers, and they do cocktails now as well.

Friendly pub with plenty of seating and a great diverse selection of UK and foreign ales. Very tasty food fairly priced for location. Well worth a visit.

Stale beer , served in a warm glass, horrible food, a portion of fries with a pre poured thimble of mayo that had a skin on it for £7🤮 , I used to like the place but it's so bad now I can't justify another visit, too many better places around.

Ive ordered a food from a barman and a girl joind the chat and told me : “ we can’t make the burger but you can find the week menu on the wall” I’ve just reply :”where are you from?” (Because I ear a familiar accent) She replied me: “I am spanish but check the menu and tell me what do you want” in a very rude way also the other guest was surprised for her very rude reply. I do exactly the same job and that is unacceptable. i was a royalty customer but I will never go back to this place you can’t be rude like that with a customer.

Good pub, wide range of beers including some cask beers. Plenty of local brewery interest. Old and well worn interior. Food menu is good, including vegetarian and vegan options ( but then it is Broadway Market and Hackney!) Pleasant and helpful staff. Not cheap, I know it's London (not Leeds where you can still get a pint of local cask beer for under £4) but I thought it was expensive even for London. A pint and a half of local (keg) Pale and Schooner of something else came to over £16 - which I thought was a bit over the top. All said, nice pub, good beer, decent food.

Grumpy male bar tender, but lovely cherry (Kriek) beer, and spacious.

Good vegetarian Sunday roast, and excellent beer selection including English and Belgian options.

Incredible selection of Belgian beers (which is what got us to stop by). Very lovely atmosphere, great relaxed crowd and plenty of boardgames to play

Great experience and range of Belgium beers with ultra knowledgeable staff. Used to go regularly in the 90s and was pleased to stay there for 4-5 hours on this 'reminiscing' visit.

Good selection of Belgium beers on tap but shame about the really rude staff incl the moody bald dude who we assume is the proprietor. Expect to be made to feel very unwelcome at times

Great Sunday roast, also suitable for celiacs (gluten) and those aware of any intolerance.

I haven’t been here for ages and it’s great to know some places don’t change, still friendly staff and great food.

We are frequent guests at the Dove, especially because of the great variety of Belgian beers 😀 We had the chicken roast today which was one of the best ever we’ve ever had!!!! Put it with the cauliflower cheese 😀😀 We’ll be back soon for more

Whenever I’m Hackney, this is my go-to pub. It’s big so you can nearly always get a seat. There’s of loads of interesting beers and the food is lovely. And the atmosphere is nice old pub vibes.

Amazing pub… in the heart of East London. A must go for locals and everyone visiting. Sunday roast is amazing and great atmosphere every day of the week. Staff is as friendly as can be. Family run business with a great selection of beers, from local brews to the best of Belgium. I will definitely come back for more! My local is the best!

Sunday roast was good. Beers good, but the service was really poor. The server was friendly, but seemed too busy to be able to manage well, even though the place wasn't packed!

Have always loved coming here for a drink. However, beef roast was not on today… maybe it was just a bad day, we all have bad days after all. Nice game of scrabble though.

this sunday roast was completely unacceptable. we waited 50 minutes for the food only for the roast beef to look AND taste like microwaveable lunch meat.

03/11/23, it was a rainy evening I decided to come on a Friday night after work to see the Thai empress. To see if she is as beautiful on a Friday as a Tuesday. Don’t contradict me. Just as I thought, I was right. The way the moon danced off her Thai face made me shiver in my timbers. My god she is here again, in front of me, and is making continuous advancements. “Would you like an extra side Mr Brandon?”, she winks. Wind blows. Fire burns. She then smiles. I ask the Thai empress for her name, she writes her number on a golden napkin, she sells sanctuary on a Golden Fleece. I smile as I now understand the journey through which the Zarathustra soars, the sky through which my eternal Thai paramour and I will dance. I will now return every Tuesday and Fridays nights 20:00 on the dot to see my future Thai bride. Don’t contradict me.

Great beers selection, always nice atmosphere and friendly service. PS if you order the chips they actually give you lots of them ;)

I love visiting The Dove. Great selection of beers and on most days staff who know what they’re doing with them. It’s a nice atmosphere - normally busy and noisy but friendly. Just wish there were more outdoor seats but in fairness it’s lovely inside! Both Two of my children live within 10 mins walk so it’s a regular go to place for us.

Was quiet on Sunday morning at 12 noon But dog friendly and staff v friendly Enzo liked it

Only given them a star because I love their selection of Belgium beers. Although, it can be really noisy and hard to have a conversation I miss the Belgian hot dog and Mac cheese that they took of the menu. Wish they would stick with Belgian food and not mix it up

Fantastic food. A good selection of ales. The atmosphere was okay. I did have an extremely loud and socially unaware person screeching and talking a few tables away but, after moving, into the rear area it was fine.

Had my parents over from Australia and wanted to take them to a nice Sunday roast. I found this place online that clearly is advertising Sunday roast. We get there and ask for the sunday lunch menu only to be told that they don't do Sunday roasts and they know that they should take it off their website. Absolutely disappointed and in disbelief. We booked this well in advance and was really looking forward to it. What a terrible establishment. Will never go back

Very nice pub in the cool area of Hackney. I had a creative version of Fish and Chips and some excellent beers from interesting new breweries. The crowd was obviously quite trendy, full of students and young creatives, excellent buzz in that area. I need to go again!

Up there with my favourite London pubs. Jaw dropping range of beers, super cool interior (lots of characterful little wood panelled alcoves where you can chat with friends) and cool staff.

Budvar as the non-alcoholic beer of choice isn’t the best in the world but adequate I guess. Prices are quite expensive as usual for London. Atmosphere is very cozy.

Lovely pub serving a fantastic range of beers. Really great buzz about the place, facilitated by the friendly staff. Lots of outside seating so you normally get a table. Highly recommended

I used to adore this place but lately the beer is rubbish the staff are moody and the toilets are rank.

Lackluster atmosphere. Particularly surly staff. Utterly overpriced drinks. Wouldn't recommend. All in all an underwhelming experience. Try the Perservance which is further along Broadway Mkt.

Despite being stranded in the middle of the tourist trap that Broadway Market is becoming, this is an authentic and distinct pub experience. Belgian beer, well worn decor and friendly looked-after staff. Well worth a visit! #5 #40

Good evening ruined by incredibly rude female staff. Aggressive, threatening behaviour, ignorant of the idea of basic human respect and patience. Thoroughly inappropriate and repellent, arrogant attitude. You have what you cultivate....

We went for Sunday roast here on Broadway market. It was a sunny day so the market was heaving. But coming inside The Dove it was not busy at all. I had originally booked a table, but ended up sitting anywhere. We ordered at the bar, while the bar staff were polite, service was slow considering there was no queue. Food came out fairly quickly. First thing to note is that the Sunday roast is £16, so I wasn't expecting it to be a top tier Sunday roast. But it was decent for the price, the beef was ok, but maybe over done (personal preference). The best thing on the plate was the roast potatoes, which were buttery inside, crispy outside. The Yorkshire puddings were crispy, but we weren't sure if they were freshly baked, or bought and heated up, same for the gravy. Aside from that you get peas, carrots and red cabbage. Having been to The Dove over the years, I think their normal menu is probably better than the roast.

Great place to stop on Broadway Market if you can get a table. Delicious cider options and they do a really good Aperol Spritz. Definitely recommend coming here with a group of friends and playing a board game.

Reasonably priced, tasty Thai food and popular pub in Broadway market. The pub is quite big inside so don't get lost!

I used to love this place. It is now shabby and filthy, a proper dump. The table were dirty, sticky. The toilets had no running water, and were absolutely filthy, not to mention the smell.

Rare to find a pub with such a great vibe. Great beers too.

There's a reason why the dove can be so packed at times. Go for the Belgian beers, stay because of said beers.

Very disappointing Sunday lunch. Small plates orderded as starters came at the same time as mains. No apology. Food mediocre at best. One to avoid.

Lovely cozy pub, friendly staff and they serve the BEST Bloody Mary in East London

Great pub, really outstanding choice of beers, even for those of us who don’t go a bundle on that Trappist over strong Belgian torture. Super atmosphere, covered tables outside, nice food. Be prepared for the unisex loos, perfectly ok just a bit of a double take when you’re not expecting it and find you’re the bloke thinking you’re in the ladies for a few nerve jangling moments.

Great Belgian beers on draft! Weak awful gin and tonics served in pint glasses. Stick with beer.

Usually very packed. Drinks like drinks, normal overpriced pints for London. Staff is rude most of the times. Tried to blame us for their mistakenly brought food to our table. Double check when you order at the bar, because few times they missed my position, and when I came to check where is my food, kitchen was already closed. Beef Burger was the worst I have ever had in London. Patty was harder than climbing shoe sole! Only sad ketchup inside, and if you want slice of cheese, pay extra! Better take bao-buns…

Great place. They were super accommodating of us - a rather large group of 15 people. The Sunday roast is solid and they also do a doggie roast for the fur babies - so cute.

Last Sunday I had the best lunch in a long time. I had the vegan, my friend had chicken both with all the trimmings. We’ll definitely be back

Much the same as it was at the turn of the millennia. I.e. excellent selection of Belgian beers.

La staff es muy amable. El local deja que desear. Nos sentamos en la parte de abajo y había tantas mesas que no se podía salir o entrar. Entramos para calentarnos del frío, pero salimos con más frío aún, porque no había calefacción. Entiendo que está cara la energia, pero con 4 grados en la calle, se echa de menos calor en el local. La comida nos tardo en llegar 40 minutos, una hamburguesa y fish and ships, nada espectaculares. Quizá le doy otra oportunidad, pero a día de hoy, no volvería.

Top pub - v impressed with the non alcoholic beer range too, makes it easier for us Dry Jan'ers. Pub Quiz is top notch. Really creative round ideas ..Will be back 100%

It's always the debate, if this one is better than the Cat & Mutton. If you like Belgian beer, it is (more than 6 Belgian beers on tap and plenty more in the fridge). The other one has better selection of local beers (on tap), I reckon. Go to both and settle the debate. Lovely wooden interiors too, and board games as well.

I like this pub but it recently pushed it's prices up to £7 a pint which is a bit too much for me.

I love the dove, it's one of my favourite London pubs. Like your beer? Great Belgian selection on tap and decent UK craft too. Food is excellent as well but what makes the dove is the atmosphere. It's a great quirky place, lots of nooks for tables and always buzzing of an evening
