During a really hot spell this summer, we ventured out to this tearoom with the hope of supporting some of our local businesses. So often we will get coffee from big High Street chains, and we had often walked past this tearoom and thought how lovely it looked. Sadly, we were rather disappointed. They offered no dairy-free milk options for drinks, and they didn’t do iced coffees (in the height of summer!). So after a walk down in the blistering heat, we ended up buying one hot coffee and a rather overpriced bottled soft drink, as this was the only vegan-friendly option on offer. The food menu was also lacking vegan-friendly options, with perhaps a butterless jacket potato with beans being the only viable choice. Furthermore, we were only able to get a seat outside right by the door, where we were constantly crowded by regulars rudely having a conversation across us, and smokers blowing cigarette smoke right in our direction. We really wanted to support our independent local businesses, but when the menu options just can’t offer what we need, it looks like we will sadly have to stick with big High Street chains until places like this can catch up and cater to the ever-growing needs/demands/requirements of the consumers.

Found this lovely tearoom after been at a local festival. Friendly staff, excellent service, lovely decor and a beautiful breakfast 😋😋 Shame we don’t live local as the rest of the menu looked great and I’d be definitely working my way through it 👍

My husband and I had a Sunday Lunch takeaway from here today and it was absolutely delicious. We both ordered the roast beef and there was so much on our plates. It came in microwaveable dishes but as we live close by it did not need heating up as it was still hot. We also ordered a pudding each too. Theses were homemade and generous portions. My husband had the sticky toffee pudding and I had the bread and butter pudding. The staff who work there are so friendly. We will definitely be ordering from here again and can throughly recommend. It’s also good to support our local businesses in these difficult times.

What a wonderful little tea room! Home made lunches are “Out if this World” with daily specials- as well as a great range of staples... toasties, paninis, jackets, omelettes etc etc. Very, very welcoming and, very nearly forgot ... do NOT come here if you are a cake addict - home made and too delicious to describe in words! 😁

This is my regular spot for a full English on a Saturday morning, don't think that is the measure of the place- far from it, Sherel (the owner and main chef) makes all of the cakes, pies and quiches (if she has the time) and they are worth driving across the whole of the county for!! A warm welcome is assured here AND a fabulous cream tea- should you begin the market for one! Go on, spoil yourself!!

We love visiting here, visit very often. It's a great place to eat whether a meal, a light bite or sampling their cakes and home made scones. The food is all freshly made and now they offer gluten free cakes which are delicious. The staff are fantastic, the atmosphere cosy and friendly, it's just a great place to visit.

Passing through Ibstock at lunchtime we were delighted to come across The Old School Tea Rooms. We had a very friendly greeting and chose from the extensive menu of homemade favourites. In retro surroundings the food, freshly cooked, came quickly and was delicious. Topped off with a fresh pot of tea served in delightful cups.
