The Courtyard Cafe in North West Leicestershire

Went for Before Noon tea today for Mothers day. Was our first time at the Courtyard. Decided to give it a go based on the reviews. Was not disappointed. Friendly service. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. Already planning our next visit. Mum loved it! Thanks so much for a lovely morning.

What a delicious lunch I had with my family here. From start to finish the excellent service and charm of the cafe was lovely! My children and nephew were instantly given colouring and crayons to keep them entertained. It was no problem when we asked for a variation of one of the dishes on the menu. Always the best cafe in Ashby! Thank you and we can’t wait to come back!

We go to the courtyard twice a week, and the owner and staff are nice, helpful and friendly. The service and the food is excellent. I would thoroughly recommend the Courtyard to anyone visiting the beautiful town of Ashby.

My friend treated me to afternoon tea this afternoon at this wonderful cafe. Everything was just perfect - delicious home-made food, friendly and unbelievably helpful staff, and lovely atmosphere. We really couldn't fault it.

Went for a ‘Before Noon Tea’ with my sisters and wow. From the lovely friendly greeting to the food and service, we couldn’t fault it. A nice alternative to afternoon tea, with items like eggs Benedict, yogurt/fruit/granola pots and warm bacon and cheese scones, the selection was amazing and so tasty. Gets busy quickly and I can see why. Have you been yet, you’re missing a treat?

Came for birthday treat from my Sisters for an afternoon tea style brunch .. absolutely delicious, service was quick and owner lovely .. will definitely be going regularly

was eating in the restaurant and overheard the what seemed like a manager being extremely rude and arrogant towards a young girl and her family, will not be returning, not a way to speak to people, I think it was disgusting!!!

A fabulous hidden gem, how have I not been here before? Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of market street is a peaceful courtyard and cafe. We had afternoon tea which was divine! Staff are lovely offered a warm welcome and great service. We really enjoyed our couple of hours away from it all. We will return xx

This place is an absolute gem!! I visited today to try the before noon tea which is like and afternoon tea for breakfast, I have not seen this offered anywhere else and it did not dissapoint!! I can only describe it as a taste sensation!! Avocado on toast, eggs florentine, sausage cob, cheese and bacon scone, banana muffin and yogurt with granola all complimented with a selection of fresh fruits, coffee and orange juice! The staff are happy, helpful and you are treated like you are a guest in their homes. Not like your average cafe and well worth a visit

Called in with a local cycling group paid 10.80 for baked potato/beans /cup of tea gave the assistant 15.00 pounds I was given 1.20 change now that’s what I call greedy profit .

Great food and service. I visited on Tuesday with my elderly mother. We were greeted by a lovely lady who explained they were full but would have a table if we wanted to return in 20 mins to which we did. The place was extremely busy and I watched the staff as I always do as we previously owned a busy restaurant. I watched a lady called Emma run around, seating, serving, clearing and cleaning tables in the most calmly manner always with a smile on her face for every customer and even found time for a little chat with them. Credit where credit is due, she did an amazing job i hope your bosses appreciate you and how hard you work for them staff like you are very hard to find. Food was delicious and presented beautifully, we will certainly be back Thank you 😀

Popped in with friends for the first time for lunch and coffee. Excellent food, service and prices. Will definitely go back when we visit Ashby again in the spring. We have no hesitation in recommending this cafe.

Wonderful place, sat snuggly inside Ashby main street, but off the road so it is nice a quiet. Staff are super friendly and very helpful with baby prams and sorting space for us. Lots of families and friendly atmosphere.

Although is says Dogs Allowed and Dogs Allowed Outside, this is not correct. Dogs are not welcome inside.

This place wonderful, I have visited on many occasions now and every dish has been fantastic! The staff are warm and welcoming, giving great customer service on every occasion. Today's choice was a steak Stilton and mushroom baggette with chips and salad with keylime pie for pudding, both were delicious!

The place was packed, which speaks for itself. The staff were so lovely and accommodating. They made sure everyone was okay. We only had tea and cake, which was excellent, but I could see people's meals, and it made my mouth water. I'll definitely be back.

Me and my friend have visited the Courtyard Cafe again this week for our annual travel planning / lunch date! The service as usual was excellent and the food is always delicious! Thank you to the wonderful ladies that sung happy birthday to me with my cake yesterday too! See you again next time!

This spot is amazing for a spot to eat, wonderful location, food was unbelievable and very well priced, but what makes it special is the service. The staff are so well mannered, extremely nice, make you feel very comfortable and as a whole makes coming here a great experience.

Emma and team were welcoming and friendly, seating us quickly. Despite being nearly full, service was given with a smile, and food and drinks arrived quickly. The decor is lovely, very farmhouse chic, making the atmosphere homely. Definitely need to return to sample the cakes and scones. Outside courtyard area is dog friendly too, lovely quiet spot hidden just off the high street.

Our first time here and we were greeted with a warm friendly welcome at the cafe, shown to our table with a smile. The food was absolutely beautiful with a proper pot of tea for two! A proper family run cafe with proper home cooked food! We will be eating here again!

We visited The Courtyard for a Festive Afternoon Tea. The staff were really friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food was absolutely delicious, the scones were still warm and the variety of savoury and sweet was just right. They do not scrimp on portions! It was the best afternoon tea we have ever had. The Courtyard is popular with family and friends and I certainly would recommend it.

We attended this year's Breakfast with Santa at the courtyard and it was so lovely! Very well organised, beautifully set out and Santa was very engaging with the children. Our son received a lovely gift too. The food was beautiful and as a coeliac I was well catered for with a selection of gluten free food and cakes that we took away too 😋

A wonderful, cosy cafe with a special atmosphere of Christmas holidays. The staff is always friendly and attentive to customer requests. The food and drinks are very tasty. My children were delighted with the delicious breakfast. I definitely recommend visiting this place.

What a fantastic place, we stopped here on the way back from a meeting. Last time we were in the area we missed as obviously being 2 blokes we did the usual “man looking” and missed it……anyway this time we found it. We were greeted by a lovely lady and seated upstairs as it was full on the ground floor…and you can see why. Fantastic atmosphere and all the staff were warm and friendly, as for the food we had a brunch meal which was very well made and looked great and tasted delicious, great cup of tea as well just what was needed on a cold day. Would definitely recommend and will visit again. Thank you.

A fabulous take on afternoon tea, The Courtyard’s ‘Before noon tea’ encompasses all the best bits of breakfast / brunch! Mini eggs Benedict, smashed avocado on toast, mini bacon and sausage sandwiches, pain au chocolat, - a cheese & bacon scone, plus yoghurt and fruit sprinkled with granola, served with a glass of orange juice and a choice of hot drink. One of our party was gluten and nut free, and she was perfectly catered for. A lovely cafe, with great food, and super friendly staff. We can’t wait to return for more of the same!

Booked for afternoon tea for my mums birthday. They had put a birthday banner on the table and a mocktail on arrival. Also refils of tea offered. From start to finish the service was 5 star plus. The food was amazing. Had some savory options , sausages rolls were delicious! We do enjoy an afternoon tea and often go to london to places like savoy, claridges etc so we know a good afternoon tea. Super pleased with this and will 100% be back ! Highly recommend.

The 3 of us booked afternoon tea to celebrate my retirement & Lilis 30th birthday. From the minute we walked through the door to leaving (with very full tummies) we had very attentive service, the food was delicious, homemade and plentiful. Couldn't fault a thing! I visited here for the first time earlier. Based on my girlfriends recommendation. We received a warm welcome and was shown a seat, no problem (we had a pushchair, so we were unsure if there would be space). The prices are a bit higher than other places, however it is worth it! Service with a smile and good food. Keep up the good work!

What a lovely visit to the cafe lately ! I had a late lunch which was served quickly and was super tasty. The hot chocolate treat was gorgeous and I resisted having cakes although it was all tempting. The staff was getting ready for a big party but that didn’t stop them from being accommodating and aware of their customers. I do recommend stopping but make sure you’ve sorted your parking as you might want to stay for a while 😁

A rare Monday afternoon off work and we were lucky enough for it to be warm and dry. Had tea and scones in the beautiful flower-bedecked courtyard. Felt like being on holiday. Lovely friendly staff. We will be back to try some more of the menu. (The afternoon tea on a neighbouring table looked rather special!).

We saw the before noon tea online and I couldn’t get it out of my head. Used the sisters birthday as an excuse and wasn’t disappointed. The staff were the loveliest, accommodating, informative, friendly and despite it being very busy, they couldn’t do enough for you. The food was as good as it looks. As a gluten Intolerant type 2 diabetic I often have problems finding a cafe or restaurant that casters for my needs. The Courtyard Cafe Ashby de la Zouch met all my needs and then some as my wife had the standard breakfast and really enjoyed the food. Very friendly staff squeaky clean and nice setting.

Lovely food in pleasant surroundings,nice decor, attentive pleasant staff, will be our go to lunch stop when visiting Ashby.

We had an ‘before noon tea’ and wow what a wonderful experience. An interesting take on the traditional afternoon tea but with a breakfast selection. The Egg Benedict was perfectly cooked, runny yolk and quality bacon and also the smashed avocado and feta with chilli sauce was super tasty. My daughter’s favourite was the yogurt and granola pots. Rebecca and her staff are welcoming and attentive. We were offered any hot drink from the menu even including hot chocolate with cream. Would definitely recommended.

What a delight! Gorgeous homely cafe tucked away in its own courtyard off Ashby high street. I've been numerous times and can say it's consistant. Could not fault the food each time, its fresh and well presented. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. Staff are attentive, would highly recommend you won't be disappointed!

What a wonderful place. We enjoyed the 'before noon tea'. Vibrant atmosphere, friendly staff and fabulous food. A clever twist on afternoon tea with freshly squeezed orange juice, a pot of tea each and a delightful selection of breakfast foods including smashed avocado toast, sausage cobs, bacon and cheese scones, banana muffins, granola, fresh fruit and eggs benedict. All homemade and beautifully presented.

Can't fault it. Excellent food, lovely staff. Attentive but not overbearing, fresh food freshly prepared. Steak, stilton and mushroom baguette was outstanding. Looking forward to my next visit.

We love the Courtyard. The food is lovely, plentiful and good value for money. The atmosphere is great and the staff are a shining example of excellent friendly service, you really feel welcomed. We visited recently for Afternoon Tea (pre booked). It was a fab experience, the table was reserved and dressed and the food was served attractively. We started with a gorgeous Elderflower Presse (yum) and lots of tea or coffee which was happily replenished at the half way point. The sandwiches were complemented by salad and hot items. A Blini with smoked salmon and cream cheese was perfect and we had THE most tasty sausage rolls I have ever eaten (not usually a sausage roll fan). Onto the light and fluffy scones with jam and proper clotted cream (none of the nasty aerosol stuff lol) and we managed the slice of toffee cheesecake before we were far too full. The staff cheerfully supplied boxes for us to take the other 4 cakes home for later. It was great value and definitely an experience we will repeat. Thank you so much .

Today we tried the before-noon tea and it was delicious! We were welcomed with orange juice and offered a choice of coffee or tea! We started with a tasty Eggs Benedict, then moved onto avocado and feta toast! After that we sampled the cheese and bacon scones and sausage brioche cob! Not forgetting the lovely berries, yoghurt and granola and a cake at the end! Definitely recommend! Always feel so welcome here! Thank you Courtyard, you never disappoint!! ❤️

First time visiting As I entered I was greeted very politely I was asked what I would like I wanted a takeaway I was given the option to sit in and wait Ordered chips beans to take out Cost £6.50 which I thought was a little expensive for takeout The food was good Service was good Staff was very friendly Clean,tidy well looked after

Booked an afternoon tea to celebrate my friends birthday, and what a lovely time we had, right from the start to the end, the staff at the Courtyard were so friendly, welcoming and attentive. They had even decorated the table to celebrate my friends birthday, nothing was too much trouble. The afternoon tea was fabulous, food was fresh and presented nicely. We had a good selection of sandwiches, cakes with a choice of two hot drinks and a cold drink. All in all a wonderful tasty treat and look forward to returning soon. Thank you The Courtyard.

This was our first experience of the courtyard cafe today and what a hidden gem it is! We went for breakfast and the food was amazing! What makes this cafe stand head and shoulders above the rest, is how friendly and full of joy the staff are. From the moment you walk in until the moment you leave, the staff are so enthusiastic and nothing is too much. I haven’t been to a restaurant with such good customer service in a very long time. If you are looking for a cafe to go to with family or friends, then this is most definitely the place to go! We can’t wait to return!😋

My mum and I randomly decided to pop into the courtyard for lunch. It was very busy but we were greeted at the door very promptly Such cute and cosy decor, lots of options on the menu for every dietary need. We were informed with all of the soecials and didn't wait long for our drinks and food at all Very yummy, super friendly staff with a lovely atmosphere.
