We always loved the vegan cooked breakfast here.. But alas today's was awful.. Three dry patties on a plate.. Tasting of baking soda.. Inedible.. But.. We shall be back next spring in the hope that we can feast on the cooked veggie fry we were expecting.. Perhaps they have a new chef..!!.. Its a lovely place otherwise.. With friendly staff..

Enjoyed lunch - quiche and sweet potato fries . Tasty. The downside was not being able to get a glass of tap water - risk assessment ruled this out. Have been able to get this everywhere else have eaten in last few months

Called into OPO today to have breakfast in the current COVID climate and glad to see they have measures and contact tracing in place. Food was nice but bit disappointed that did not get the usual granola shot glasses before cooked breakfast. On the whole quite good but some people seemed to struggle to understand one way system and social distancing at tills. Might wait a wee while to go back just to let things settle down a bit.

Had coffee in OPO last Thursday. Lovely to be back and enjoy the highest quality coffee and scones in the new set up. Stuart and his team have done a fabulous job ensuring the experience is as good as ever. A very busy start to the day as a lot of customers arrived bang on 10 am but the staff managed excellently. Have had coffee and breakfast in two reputable establishments in Belfast recently, OPO could teach them a lot about both. Quality, service and value for money could not compare to OPO!

Called in with a friend for breakfast and really enjoyed the Old Post Office Ulster Fry. This was absolutely delicious! I tend to eat here once a week and always enjoy the experience. The old cottage atmosphere is cosy (especially if the log burning stoves are lit on a cool morning!) and the staff are especially helpful and friendly. I visit many, many coffee shops but I always return here to this one.......my favourite!!!P.S. They have a take away shop stocked with scrumptious pies, bakes, biscuits, buns and cakes. The chicken and broccoli bake is excellent. I’d highly recommend trying it!

Went here yesterday when looking for a quick bite to eat. My partner had a nice quiche and a choice of 3 salads all of which were very nice. The Old Post Office is always very busy - a sign of it's success. We love the salad options - pasta salad, cabbage and cranberry, winter salad, Waldorf etc. The quiche, fritattas, brocolli and chicken bake are all delicious. Can't rave enough about this place. We have been here for lunch many times and never disappointed! First time having breakfast there this morning and The Post Office is now our new favorite brekkie place. We are both vegetarian and their vegetarian breakfast is to die for, also my partner got scrambled eggs with toasted soda and commented he thought scrambled eggs were just that but these were on another level of good (this is a first!). First class food and the staff are so helpful and friendly. I have watched the gentleman who is usually taking payment kindly take the time to seat their more mature customers, taking their trays and more importantly taking the time! The prices are extremely good for the top class nosh you receive and the atmosphere is so cozy with the fires blazing on these cold winter days. 10 out of 10 from us and the cakes are another story........Oh the cakessssss YUM! :)

Called in for coffee with a friend. Asked for gluten free options, and was shown two bought in tray bakes - very unappetising and disappointing Opted for 1piece of gluten free toast and bacon, but staff had difficulties with what to key into the till. I asked about cost, and got a lecture (from Stuart) about how a gluten free loaf was £3.60 and the £2.20 he was charging for one slice of bread didn’t make them any profit. I was then informed I didn't have to take it. At this point I said I wasn’t impressed with the customer service What I was served was fine But I was very disappointed with Stuart’s attitude as I have been there many times before. They really need to have a wider selection and better customer serviceIf you are gluten free.... you are best to go elsewhere.

Visited for breakfast - walking into what used to be a warm place was freezing cold. Noticed others wearing coats. Ordered food - poached egg, bacon and toast - and sat down close to where one of wood burning stoves were but it wasnt even lit. We mentioned to staff that it was cold and we were told heat was on and stoves would be lit after Halloween. Surely weather dictates when to light stoves. When food came presentation wasn't great. Bacon and toast came on an oblong plate, eggs were in a separate dish, with a small bowl of relish - all a bit clumsy looking. Poached eggs were a bit messy. Food and coffee got cold very quickly. My daughter had requested a pot of hot water with coffee but it never arrived so she had to go asking for it. No-one asked if we would like a top-up of coffee or anything else. Food would need to improve before I go back. On a positive note it has a nice gift shop.

Atmosphere and staff here are very touch and go. On a great day there is nowhere better, on a bad day, chaotic service that is very poor, with long waits for the simplest of things, but this doesn’t seem to influence their trade. However really frustrated me on my last visit as I waited 15 minutes for a filter coffee and cake at the self service bar. Good range of lunch food and deserts. A bit over priced for simple coffee and cake, and it really isn’t excerpting enough to make it worth the price. But lunch portions are good, and delicious, but be prepared to spend maybe £20-£30 for two people for a light lunch. Due to small interior getting seating can also be difficult, and cramped, so difficult to move around. Not suitable for people with disabilities who would need space to get about.

The newly branded OPO has had some positive tweaks & changes; larger traybakes, some new pastries and sandwich cakes. But the old stalwart of lasagne really misses the mark. I hesitated when I'd seen it but realised the mistake when I was gnawing it...hopefully there will be a tweak. There's barely any sauce. Hopefully they can tweak it. The salads are still fantastic.

The portion of egg was a good size and was lovely and creamy, garnished with some small tomatoes. There were 3 slices of wheaten loaf with butter and a small dish of relish. Top ups of tea and coffee were available. I found the atmosphere to be very pleasant with couples and families having either breakfast or morning coffee / tea. We visit this restaurant often for breakfast, lunch or snacks. The coffee is delightful and now you are even offered refills. The selection of cakes, desserts and tray bakes changes every day and all made on site by the excellent chefs. A great variety of dishes is offered at lunch time with new items being added all the time. The breakfast menu is amazing and includes some unusual choices. Afternoon tea is a speciality. Staff are very pleasant, relaxed and attentive. Great things ahead. Watch this space!!

I've been in a few times since the recent changeover and I suppose some changes good or bad were inevitable. The most dramatic drop I've noticed has been in the desserts. No one was ever going to rival Trevor, let's be honest, but the standard they're churning out is well below what should be there. Caramel dripping off the pies, the cheesecake looks bare and unfinished, and the lemon meringue looks like it has been dropped. The muffins, which appear to be part of a new line, should have been passed out among staff on their breaks. They just looked sad. Not sure how the new owner, who appears to be about the till a lot, hasn't seen this. I looked over the old pictures on the FaceBook page and the contrast couldn't have been starker. Even touches like the music, it's louder and more modern now, doesn't really gel with the Tearoom image. And a product I buy regularly from The Pantry is to be discontinued shortly. So sad to think that Alison and Trevor worked so hard to build The Old PO up and that it's almost not being honoured. Regulars, like me, will be left disappointed. On the plus side, The Old Post Office breakfasts are still brilliant, beautifully cooked still and with the excellent quality meats. I hope that this is a settling in period and that some aspects of The Old PO are restored.

We ate here to celebrate my sister’s birthday. This is an old building with a series of rooms where you can sit to eat. The self service means there is invariably a queue though it does move quickly. We all three choose quiche. They all had wet bases! ( food is heated in microwaves) my bacon quiche was tasty but both sisters forts cheese quiche was lacking in goats cheese as neither of them had any in their slices. The quiche is served with a choice of 3 very generous salads all of which were delicious and very crispy and fresh. While we were there no body approached us to enquire if we were alright or if we required anything nor were the surrounding tables cleared. The restaurant is popular with older folk and there is ample off road parking.

Have been a regular visitor the Old Post Office and now under new management. Glad to say the food and coffee are just as good as it always has been. My only disappointment is to say 'what has happened to the scones?, still lovely, but they seem to have shrunk in size. I will still give it five stars, all the staff and new management are very friendly.

Stopped here with my mother and son for a bite to eat on our way home. It was our first visit. It was ok, very expensive for what it was (£1.60 for a carton of Ribena!), but the staff were friendly and the tables were full.

A lovely place in a very tranquil setting to have beautiful freshly prepared food served to a very high standard. The Old Post Office is a unique place with a number of small homely ,warm rooms to enjoy your food in a very relaxed old world style atmosphere . On a lovely sunny day why not sit and enjoy your coffee etc in the lovely enclosed small courtyard or relax by the small pond surrounded by a lovely peaceful cottage garden and listen to the wild birds sing . It's hard to believe that this setting is by the edge of a busy main road surrounded by a hedge and many shrubs. A number of small rooms are tastefully adorned with lots of unusual gift ideas for sale at reasonable prices for high quality goods . The food served is of excellent quality with the usual variety of beverages and cold drinks . The home made food is beautifully made and served by lovely staff supervised by the joint owner Alison who is only too happy to help with any request. The afternoon teas are especially tastefully prepared with homemade scones cakes and traybake - a real treat to feast your eyes on and to temp those taste buds.

Visited the old post office after a brisk morning walk around the area and found it absolutely delightful! A gorgeous range of refreshments that my fiance and I made full advantage of before we left to continue our walk around the area. After walking around and checking out the local sight we found ourselves back for lunch and it was a excellent choice. Would thoroughly recommend all passing through and local alike. Well done and thanks!

I visited the old post office with a group of friends last week for lunch. The service was excellent, we all had delicious food and we loved the relaxing atmosphere within the coffeeshop. There is a great selection of homemade tray bakes and sandwiches, I will definitely be back to sample some more! After lunch we spent time shopping and took away some lovely gifts from the old post office shop. A great day out had by all!

We are always impressed with the food at the TT bistro. The food is always superior to other well known rival restaurants nearby. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere while being unpretentious.
