Very tasty tapas though I thought a little expensive. Location, service & decor lovely but I did find the clientele rather 'clicky' and not particularly friendly. Three of us ate, had 5 tapas between us & a drink which cost £90.

Great food and location. Sadly though a disappointing service and attitude overall. Needs to prioritise the customer dining experience Pros: 1. Food is really good, local produce and authentic 2. Nice rustic environment, limited choice for bars and restaurants in the area so a much needed venue 3. Great for a bar / drink visit, lots of choice and nice vibe 4. Really could be awesome 5. Great toilets Cons: 1. Took over an hour to be served for tapas style dishes 2. Defensive waitress service service when asking when food would arrive i.e ‘well everything is cooked to order, it’s been a long day’ 4. Very expensive, whilst waiting for food, ordering drinks to compensate. 5. No lemon water to wash fingers after prawns: sounds petty but it really is a basic thing 6. Not the first time waiting a long time for food 7. Tables packed tightly together, hot and stuffy dining space. 8. No sympathetic recognition of the delay. 9. Felt very much that retaining customer is not the priority.

Lovely place! We went here for the first time for Mothers Day. It became very busy just after we arrived, and the kitchen seemed to struggle a bit to keep up so there was a bit of a wait between the starter and the main but in fairness they kept us topped up with drinks and it was a nice atmosphere, and when the mains came they were all lovely. Beautifully presented and delicious. Well worth waiting for! The starters were lovely, really tasty. We had one of each option and all came out looking beautiful and each of us commented that our dish was very tasty. And when it came to pudding the pineapple upside down cake stole the show for me, but Mum loved the Sherry Trifle too! Absolutely winning lunch. A little hidden gem of a place. Beautifully clean and with lovely traditional decor with a modern twist. Lovely staff too, most seem quite young and a bit shy so not very chatty but are really happy to do all they can to ensure you have a good hospitality experience, and make sure you feel looked after. We'll definitely go back again soon. 👌❤️

Having visited for the first time about 6 weeks ago, I meant to write a review then but life got in the way. That review would have been for me, my wife and two kids and would have been glowing. This review however is for a family meal of 5 adults and 3 children ranging from 3-12 years old and every single one of us loved it. Having been in Barcelona in May we were missing tapas like crazy and having only lived here for 18 months we hadn’t realised how close we were to this amazing place. The service is friendly and attentive without being overcrowding and we were made to feel welcome even with the children (not the case everywhere). The food was fantastic, we ordered 20 dishes and expected a long wait but it was prompt and hot in every case, special mention to the Croquetas and the Calamari which sated my Barcelona cravings. If you love tapas or have yet to try it then please give the moathouse a go, we will be coming back for years now and plan to take everyone who comes to visit along.

Visited this lovely tapas bar yesterday for lunch after spending a good hour + walking around the beautiful Norman Castle. We chose a variety of plates including the croquettes, mediterranean bread, cassoulet and sticky pork. Each dish was colourful, well prepared and cooked & very tasty with it's own individual flavours. We chose a glass of negromara and nero d'avola plus beer and a glass of white wine. It was lovely to have a really good selection of wine by the glass. We ate well with really nice wine for £50.00, and can really recommend. It would be nice if there were a couple of smaller tables to make it feel cosier and less basic, some shade outside would be a great addition.

A real hidden gem. My friend knew there was a pub near the castle from his youth, yet we still drove past it twice. ( Its the small white building down a couple of steps opposite the castle shop). Fortuitously this meant it was bang on 4 o'clock when we arrived and they were just opening the door. We were greeted by 2 lovely, friendly bar staff who suggested 3 1/3 pints for £4.50 and helped us choose from the extensive draft ales they had. Had we not been driving I'd have loved to stay to sample some of their 2 shelves of mainly Welsh gins and fantastic tapas menu. It quickly filled up and had a lovely vibe to it. Will definitely visit again. Great find, thanks to Pete and his local knowledge.

Four of us arrived to celebrate a birthday - from the moment we stepped in the service was impeccable. One look at the menu and we all knew we were in trouble - so much choice how could you make up your mind what to have! We all chose different starters - pate, garlic tomato and basil soup, Thai spiced prawn tom yum broth and goats cheese and hazelnut cheesecake - all absolutely delicious- for mains we had sea bass, chicken, duck and boeuf bourginon - well seasoned so tasty and absolutely delicious and all piping hot. While we were eating we were asked several times if everything was ok and if we needed more drinks - they brought water to the table 3 times while we were there the service was so attentive. Only two of us could fit in a dessert - the most sublime vanilla panacotta - I would highly recommend the New Curiosity - what a gem of a place we will definitely be returning

Plenty of parking, I liked the layout which didn’t put you too close to other diners and not cramped, amazing views and good ambiance, the service was spot on and the food was of a very good standard, plentiful and all arrived hot and beautiful presented. My first time visiting here, definitely won’t be the last and I highly recommend it to anyone.

A very comfortable room, with friendly and helpful hosts. A choice of breakfasts either cooked or continental. We had the continental which had a large warm croissant and a lovely selection of fruit, together with homemade yogurt which was delicious. Everything you would want in a B&B

I do not cook at all when The Penny Black is open ! I feel really sorry for cafes and restaurants like this ! It's not their fault that they are unable to open up at the moment still ! The Post office is an integral part of the Burry Port community and as such will have struggled to retain their loyal clientele! Not everyone is,driven by price but as I intend to eat there 3 or 4 times a week , still, I'm very grateful that the prices are priced really realistically , as I'm single and only on my works pension, still ! Lol x Thanks for all the care the staff gave given me since moving to Burry Port/ Pembrey. South Wales. Th
