Booked for an evening Sunday and requested Sunday roast saved for us if running out. The request was sorted out with a phone call early in the day and all good. Food was superb, friendly with courteous service, nothing was too much trouble. Decent beer as well - lovely views of Brixham harbour - nice for just a couple of drinks or a meal.

As vegans, we were so excited to see Banana Blossom fish and chips on the menu and it did not disappoint!! Lovely crispy batter and delicious banana blossom ‘fish’. The vegan homemade tartare sauce was to die for, and the fluffy chunky chips were heavenly. We sat outside on the balcony and had the most perfect view over the harbour. A fabulous lunch. Highly recommend

Went yesterday, food you have to sit inside for. Ordered at the bar and then food comes to table. Just wanted to share kids menu. This pasta was £7.50!!!!! And was awful! She said it’s vegan pasta which we didn’t order we just ordered the normally one, there was two options. ( which I find odd anyway as most pastas is vegan) It was cold, dry, and where is the sauce! Honestly so over priced and disgusting! Table next to us had kids and ordered the same and we both spoke across and she said it looks like it’s been sat drying for 3 months. Should of said something but didn’t have time to argue. I wouldn’t bother coming here

very disappointing we was recommended this place by a friend to find out that it was full of arrogant and rude people ! Not just the staff but the locals it seemed like ! We wasn’t greeted and when asked for a menu we was looked at like we was idiots ! This isn’t what you expect from one of the best rated brewery’s ! The staff was stood behind the bar and the young man in a suit who seemed to be a manger but certainly didnt look the part as he stood listening to music singing ,flirting and over all seemed like his work banter with the other girls was more important then his service to us ! The food was mediocre and overall BLAND the children portions was ridiculous and £4 for a coke is absolutely awful. If you are a family I wouldn’t recommend we whent to alberos round the corner and they was very welcoming and friendly luckily this improved our holiday experience

The food was okay, but nothing special. The potato chips with skins were not good at all. But the waitresses were really nice and took good care of us.

Talk about a dynamic duo! The two ladies who were on hand were fantastic. Elin and Hannah were very friendly, professional and very knowledgeable on with the items on the menu. Definitely will be returning.

Warm,comfortable excellent food wonderful staff. Haven’t visited in over a year but decided to give it a go, and I’m glad we did! Really great service and a massive improvement from the old menu which was all burgers and fried food. Particularly impressed by the specials and seafood options. I am coeliac which makes it difficult to eat out, but there were plenty of gluten free options and the staff were all very accommodating. Staff are all lovely and I was served by Anna in the restaurant who was very helpful and attentive. Will definitely be returning!

Just had such a brilliant meal with the family. So good to find somewhere so relaxed, dog and kid friendly, great service and great food. They made it easy even with all our food intolerances, I don't always feel safe eating out but I did today. Can't ask for more really!

There was an hour wait for food. I understand that it was busy but we weren’t told the wait time - if we knew we would have gone elsewhere as we had young children who needed to eat asap.

We visited this restaurant on our first day in Brixham after a long journey. We just needed some simple, easy food and to chill out. The restaurant fitted the bill and provide descent pub food at a reasonable price. What stood out was the warm welcome when we arrived and the friendly service from our waitress, Anna.

Really good service, food reasonably priced and tasty, staff helpful and friendly, what more could you ask for? Second time we’ve booked here and would definitely do it again! They don’t make a fuss or request credit card details either, unlike many other local places.

We had the pleasure of another great meal at The Old Market House on Saturday night. There is a lovely new menu to try and despite missing the mac and cheese bites and the chicken wrap favourites, we soon found new ones to enjoy! The staff as always were very welcoming and attentive, the new addition of Emily from Canada who is absolutely lovely and made our meal much more enjoyable as she chatted happily and made the children giggle! We’ve been to Brixham a few times with my parents and have always enjoyed a drink or two in the Old Market House. A friendly atmosphere with a great range of gins to choose from. This time we are here too and I was glad we did. Really good menu, plenty to choose from. All offered good value for money and it was excellent quality. Would definitely eat there again. Downstairs is dog friendly too!

Really disappointed. Had read reviews and thought that it would be a good choice but found it lacking in every way from having to order drinks and food at the bar (not sure why people rating service as good!) to the fact that the menu arrived along with a narrative about all of the things that were off! we had intended to have a proper lunch but settled for lite bites and drinks given choices and the fact that the cleaniness just wasnt there

Made a late decision to visit Old Market House and what a good choice it was. The food was excellent and we received a very warm welcome. There were six of us and we all really enjoyed our meals. It was also good because our daughter was able to take her dog as we eat in the bar area. Strongly recommend you giving it a try you won’t be disappointed if our experience is anything to go by.

Not the first visit to this lovely restaurant, again the meal, service and views were spectacular. The price was not expensive for the delicious food and I will return again

The Old Market House is a lovely venue overlooking the Golden Hind in Brixham Harbour. The atmosphere is warm, comfortable and friendly. The meal was excellent, we had the specials on offer of chicken supreme and salmon. Both dishes were delicious and the staff were polite and friendly. We are locals and will certainly visit again soon.

Great service and fish was very tasty. Would recommend, not too expensive either. Booked a table due to it being half term but didn’t get busy until the afternoon. Staff didn’t rush us either.

Joe, is the best of the best as a local service is beyond great always helpful and is so great with my kid's, also to the kitchen staff they accommodate your needs and requirements, the food gets better and better.

We met up for lunch as a family there was 8 of us , we chose the old market house because they could accommodate the dog we had with us , food was very good and served up in a good time and staff were very nice and polite.

Visited twice, first for drinks ,second time for dinner. On both occasions the staff were very friendly and had time to talk to us regarding our holiday. The food was delicious, which came in plentiful size portions.
