Very nice and welcoming town centre pub

We've had Sunday lunch here a few times and have loved the place. Went back today only to find the restaurant no longer open and only the sports bar. Very sad to hear this. Hope the restaurant makes a return in the future.

We came on Saturday following Valentines, and after our 1st course I couldn't understand why we were the only people in there. Absolutely stunning food, the young man who served us was polite and helpful. We went into the sports lounge after for after dinner drinks and again, great atmosphere, but couldn't understand why we were alone. Would Absolutely recommend the old glass house for food, or drinks, outside of their events. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there and are planning a return visit. Thank you so much for making it a lovely experience.

Absolutely amazing here, the waitress Lana is friendly and happy to serve us! We have gone back alot of times since drinking there, now our favourite pub!

I recently attended a wedding reception and had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant. The food hit the spot and everything tasted fresh and served hot. Kirsty and the other staff couldn’t do enough to make sure our visit was faultless. Definitely will be bisiting again .

Fabulous Italian trattoria with authentic pasta dishes. The tiramisu is heavenly.

If you like fast processed cardboard food, this is not the place for you. However if you like your food freshly cooked with flavour and generous portions then this is definitely the place to eat.

Always a great night, really grateful to the owners for sourcing gluten free beer for me too. So rare to find a local establishment where customers are catered for. Friendly punters and music every weekend, can't go wrong

I don’t often feel compelled to write a review, however my Ribeye steak was so good that I just had to share. Medium-rare perfection. Everyone else was also very happy with their food. A relaxed ambiance on a Thursday night. Definitely recommend. Parking hard to find, search nearby streets there will be a spot.

Family meal for birthday celebrations. Food was superb, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal, we had Steaks, Pies, Hunters Chicken, Fish all delicious. A good range of drinks available too. After our meal we went into the bar area where a lady singer entertained us until closing time. Kirsty and her staff were pleasant and attentive all night.

I have visited the Glass House in Dudley on numerous occasions, very warm, comfortable and clean environment, excellent food, portion size is really good, staff are friendly and very welcoming, they are happy to meet individual needs. Value for money. I look forward to our next visit.

As a frequent visitor to the glass house, I have tried the lunch and evening menu, food always looks presentable and the desserts are amazing. Staff are always friendly and happy to help. Service is great.

For a new restaurant, hats off to them, it's a hard job! The staff are amazingly pleasant. Unfortunately for us, we arrived just after a party of 30, who turned up an hour late (plain rude!!) so although the food was really tasty and the staff were so friendly, we had a bit of a wait, however, this wasn't the restaurants fault so we do appreciate their efforts. They made an effort to make us feel welcome and when they said 'food will be with you in 10 mins' we thought, yeah right! But the food was with us in 10 mins, so there were no false promises, which was really appreciated. They were very apologetic for the wait, without the need for us to moan, which is how it should be. My only criticism is that the portions could be a bit bigger. Aside from that, all good and we will return xx

Great food, great service, great atmosphere

Lovely atmosphere and easy to book. Few little mistakes brought the rating down to 4 stars, if the food was priced a little lower these may have been easier overlooked. Drink: drinks order was asked without us having received a drinks menu. Starter: Cod croquettes were a little on the cold side and needed a little more curry mayo. Main: Duck was missing baby carrots with no reason why given. All other food and drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere was lovely, highly recommend the lamb meatball starter. Overall a lovely place to dine but definitely on the pricer side for Dudley town.

Nice food. I'm a bit disappointed that the chicken I ordered with Mash did not come with vegetables. Hubby had the fish and chips, which he said was nice. Friendly staff we were not rushed but was not too slow either. It was a bit cold inside, and I needed to leave on my coat. I would definitely return.

My first visit to the New Glasshouse very impressed it is stylishly decorated and my friend and I had the Afternoon Tea and Prosecco. Fantastic selection of sandwiches and cakes and all beautifully presented. Such a lovely atmosphere and all the staff so friendly and attentive a really lovely experience. Came here for Sunday lunch, two of my party ordered the roast dinners, which came very quickly & tasted wonderful. However myself & another ordered the roasted aubergine ratatouille & sea bass. Both arrived very late, after the others had finished their meals. The aubergine was drowned in grease & far too slimy, whilst the fish was over cooked & the potatoes & veg were still hard. the staff were lovely & apologised for the wait, however the food was not of high standards.

Visited today, if I could do a zero score I would, booked at table for 4, first time we've been here and it will be the last, 2 meals arrived all good excellent food, the other 2 meals arrived 24 minutes later, on the veggie meal it was soaked in oil, the 4th meal was sea bass , it was overcooked, the roast potatoes where rock hard, I informed the waitress of these issues, she was polite and said I'll inform the kitchen staff, never had any feedback or apologies, just the bill, was very disappointed, the bill was 76 , should have been 10 pound, never will visit again, place run by amateurs.

It's lovely there, the place is spot on, light airy and tastefully decorated. Spotlessly clean and there is a disabled toilet. The food was great and reasonably priced, A 3 course meal costs £14.99 in the afternoon, They do alternative food choices like Vegan and Vegetarian . The staff are very friendly and helpful, we had to wait a while for our food but as it was freshly cooked that wasn't a problem

Nice little place in the town, slightly out of place for Dudley (IMO) but reasonable prices and decent enough food.

Went with 2 friends,they had no complaints about their food but mine was awful. Ordered a Ceaser Salad,what turned up was a bowl of lettuce,that's it,no garlic croutons, no dressing no anchovies, I didn't think you could go wrong with a salad,clearly I was wrong. I phoned to talk to manager(didn't do it at the time as it was my friend that recommended it and I thought it would be embarrassing for her)still waiting for them to ring me back!!!

My partner and I went there for a meal, was really nice and the staff were really friendly and welcoming, glad it's back open, Will definitely go again and will recommend to family and friends 😀

We took my mom for her birthday. An old stamping ground as I was at school in St James' Rd. Hugely good value and excellent food quality. Fresh prawn cocktail, great F&C and great steak cooked just right. Impressed. Noce buzz, very contemporary and excellent personal service.

Ignore any old reviews of this place because it has new management and is lovely. Spotlessly clean and fully refurbed, the staff are friendly and helpful and place looks amazing. The food was good although a little slow coming out. This did not matter on this day as we had a family gathering. Overall I would highly recommend this place to anyone wishing to have a meal out in Dudley.

We turned up just before closing of serving but told us to go through to the bar and they called us through for a table. The waitresses couldn't do enough for you and was so friendly. Highly recommend this place for a high class meal and friendly service in a lovely surrounding

Wonderful food here, staff are so nice and friendly Only problem is parking during busy periods, there is a pay and display up the road but it's a little walk (not the best of disabled) but what do you expect for somewhere in a town centre!

Firstly I’ must say that this place is under new management , so don’t read any comments before july I went for the 3 course lunch with a pint of lovely cider prawn starter steak main and a proper tasting fresh cheesecake , not the baked stodgy stuff you usually get The cider was cool and fresh in a lovely glass The starter prawn starter was tasty and fresh The steak was so tender it pulled apart The cheesecake was the best I’ve had in years tasted like they had just that second made it fresh The decor is beautiful and comfortable, actually felt like a fine dining experience a little gem in Dudley and unbelievable value especially in this terrible cost of living climate, TBH I don’t know how they are offering such lovely fresh tasting quality food for the price they are ,also decent portion sizes I was really really impressed and will definitely be recommending and returning had to give them a great review such nice staff aswell keep up the good work , I don’t know anywhere where you can get a pint of cider and a three course meal of that quality for under £19 amazing Thankyou again old glass house lovely afternoon with my friend so glad we picked you

The place has recently reopened and had a full refurbishment. The new decor is smart, sophisticated, and stylish, which brings elegance to this beautiful historic building. We as a family went for Sunday dinner. The food was lovely, with 3 courses for £21.95, it was excellent value. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional. We will visit again.

Walked into a nearly empty restaurant, to be told they are fully booked asked if it was possible to have something small as I'd walked a a bit to try their food... thry weren't aware i had. the waitress went to her manager... her manager came to me and said there will be tables available after 4pm... from what I can see they shut at 4pm on Sundays. Its 1pm and the place is still empty....

They have done it really well and it looks very modern and pretty! The food was amazing, they have done a really lovely job with the new menu. We had a lovely bottle of red, two starters, two mains and two cocktails and it came to just under £90 which is very reasonable for the quality of the food. It was very quiet for a weekday as expected, but was still really lovely atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and the service was good! I'll definitely be returning again. Although we have eaten here before it was our first Sunday lunch. We thought we would give it a try as we had heard good reports. Unfortunately our booking seemed to have "disappeared" but no problem as the very helpful "Alicia's sister" found us a table. The service and atmosphere was relaxed which suited us. The roast beef, and turkey were excellent, tasty and tender however the "trimmings" were a little sparse, with only a quarter of a roasted carrot and same for parsnip. We also thought the green beans and savoy cabbage were a lot less than "al dente" and would have benefited from an extra few minutes cooking, I suspect it wasn't just us judging by what was being left on the plates of others and suggest it needs addressing. The desserts were a good end to a pleasant time.

Beautiful place with welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be visiting again with some friends. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing. Food was absolutely beautiful, excellent value for money. Service was 5⭐️ friendly, family run business. Menu is fab we can't wait to come and try more dishes! Restaurant is done out beautifully. Would be stunning for a special occasion. The bar is also nice touch to have a drink after your meal and continue your evening 🥂

Absolute joke! Booked, checked booking and received e-mail confirming booking. Turned up, a party of nine and they weren't even open. Not the first bad experience we've had with this venue but decided to give it a second chance. Previously booked for family b/day meal(14 people) and although they acknowledged that the booking had been placed they had cancelled and rebooked the tables. Bad attitude, no apology.

Clueless. Waiting staff were very poor. Did not know what they served drinks wise. Did not know what was on the menu. Food was ok. Bill was incorrect at the end too. I felt sorry for the chef who was at the mercy of the front of house buffoons. The worst place I have ever paid for food.

Quite possibly the worst Sunday roast I’ve ever had - it was bland and completely tasteless. When booking my reservation, the latest time available was 3pm. Later that evening I was called by the restaurant to see if I could come in earlier and I said no as I was at the Black Country Living Museum. When leaving the museum, I called the restaurant to let them know that I’d be a couple minutes late and the man I spoke with on the phone, which upon arriving at the restaurant I realised was the chef, told me that they will be closing soon because it’s quiet and the staff want to go home, that that was the reason I was contacted yesterday to come in earlier so they could close early. The man was rude and abrupt and it soured the experience before I’d even got there. Once there, (and it was completely empty) the waitresses were nice enough but again, the food was just awful. I really wish I had not given the restaurant the benefit of the doubt after the rude phone call and gone somewhere else with better customer service and much better food. Would not recommend.

Well this was a total disappointment. We had booked for 6 people and 3 kids all needing a high chair. My sister had talked at great length with them on the phone when booking about our needs. When we arrived they tried to put us on a table for 6 people, clearly not enough space and then we waited ages for them to get us high chairs. Then the menu came. Only an option of a set menu, either 2 or 3 courses, no a la carte. It doesn’t say that anywhere on the website. The selection of choices was disappointing to say the least. Then I asked where the kids menu was and they said they didn’t have one but they do either fish fingers and chips or chicken nuggets and chips. We had no idea how much it was we just had to pick from the two. When my sister queried this and said she’d checked and they offered more than that on the website and what about a pasta dish the girl went and checked and came back and said yes they’d do pasta. What pasta?! What does it come with?! It was a disgrace. The girl by this point was downright rude. Then she asked for our drinks order, we didn’t have a drinks menu so asked what wines they did and she spouted all the different types of wines, again there was no prices so when we asked she just gave us a price, we have no idea if she’d just made it up or not, who knows! The food itself was also disappointing. My sea bass looked promising but it had no seasoning what so ever and didn’t have any taste to it. The white wine sauce literally tasted of nothing, it may well not have been there. The other diners were equally as disappointed with their food. Then it came time for dessert. I hadn’t had a starter so was looking forward to sticky toffee pudding as was my dad. My dad received his pudding, the kids received their ice cream and I asked where mine was and then when everyone else was eating they said oh sorry we don’t have anymore sticky pudding left. What else do you want. How disgusting?! Who waits until everyone is eating to tell customers there’s none left. This left me fuming. This place knows nothing about customer service. I don’t know if all the staff were new but none of them seemed with it, even the barman didn’t know where to fill up a water jug from and after asking twice I had to go up to the bar myself to get it along with the glasses. What’s worse is that we were in Dudley to celebrate my dads 70th birthday and this was his celebration meal. What a total shame. It’s not like we turned up late in the evening. We had booked for 5pm on a Saturday night. So all the people who came after us must have been severely disappointed with the lack of food and the s*** service. I used to work in hospitality and I would have been fired if I behaved like they did. I would never recommend this restaurant. If I could give it no stars I would. Oh my days!!!! Upmarket venue for today's Dudley. Popped in for a few drinks before a show at the Town Hall. The manager, the service and the atmosphere was second to none!!! Wow!!! Food looked, and smelled, amazing!!! I highly recommend

So I visited here tonight for my birthday with family... Where shall I start, no peroni, no coke, no guiness.. Only 1 steak!!! Steak not cooked to desired request, quickly rectified then had to ask twice for knife.. 1st time in my dad's life he's complained about food, dont think the dog would have eaten it!!! Best yet, 3 burgers ordered, only 2 bought out... My boys never moan at a burger, but they weren't impressed, said it was dry!! Told we didn't want the 3rd as the rest of the party had almost finished and then they bought it out!!! Website shows a sample menu, only a few items on actual menu and it doesn't tell you that it's a set menu... Terrible service, will not be going here again or recommending

Great food, had a wedding meal here

Loved it. My family is large and we always struggle to find where we can all eat. We were celebrating 2 birthdays. They were so accommodating. The food was absolutely tasty and we got to meet the chef. The only thing was we were not given a drinks menu but that did not get in the way of their staff being nice . I would highly recommend

Visited last night to celebrate my friends birthday and was really looking forward to it. On arrival we were told there was no lager available on draught only in bottles. A pint bottle of lager was £4.95. , I asked why the draught wasn't available and was told they were waiting on a delivery. I had previously looked at the menu on the website and was impressed with the variety of choices available. Once seated the menu was given to us and it wasn't the same menu at all. Currently it is a set menu which is very condensed incomparison to the menu on the website plus no children's menu was available. Our waitress informed us that the menu had been set for a while now and wasn't sure why the menu hadn't been changed on the website. Collectively our table of 5 decided we didn't want to eat due to the lack of choice especially for my 10 year old Son. Such a lovely place visually but until management sort out their deliveries and advertise the menu they are actually offering , alot more people will be disappointed in their experience just like we were.

We came here to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday, we were a group of 30, the atmosphere was perfect and by far the best restaurant we have in this area, we all had 3 courses and not one complaint which is outstanding and unusual for a big party, everything was 5 stars down to the amazing staff so polite and attentive “one of the reasons we will return so thank you girls and to the chef, the cleanliness was faultless and of course the food was something else, there were a mixture of vegetarians and meat eaters and there was plenty of options to choose from, the owner Shak is so friendly and welcoming always and makes you feel like a friend… so thank you for a lovely lovely night, oh and we took my daughters cake balloons and banners up before we arrived and was planning on decorating our area once we got there but the lovely girls had already blew all the balloons up put the banners up and arranged the cake were we were seated when we got there Thank you so much for a really nice night we will definitely be back x

I can not understand why there any reviews higher than one star. Guests must have eaten before they had food here! Defo in need of Gordon Ramsay to get this place on track. Before mentioning anything else the staff were gentle and welcoming ok service, polite and explained things well. Hence the one star. Had three places to book, my wife saw this place and we thought lets go as a table was available. Arrived with some friends for food, no drinks menu. Ordered what drinks were available, just apple juice and asked for hot water x 4 and was told it would be ten minutes. Excuse me... Ten minutes for hot water. Only one cup ever came even after asking and reminding three waitresses on 3 occasions The waitress later explained there is one chef in tonight. Being understanding as we were, we said ok and ordered food. Starters were ok. Mains- steak x 2 was good was given no steak knife until i had asked. My wife order a burger which looked very suspicious. The burger itself was supposed to be beef but look like a clump of rusk and soil put together. Quality very poor. My other friend order the chicken and potatoes. Hardly ate any because the chicken was DRY. A very common theme in the honest reviews. We skipped desert and glad we did. In the end we were told cash only which im fine with except i had not enough cash on me so we had to walk down the road in the freezing cold to get cash to pay for meals that were inedible. The restaurant still expected us to pay for two of the meals that were hardly eaten and so halved the cost for those two meals. Easily a contender for the worst restaurant experience i and other with me had had in years. Until they have more chefs and quality produce avoid this restaurant or stick with the steak and soup. Oh and theres no ketchup!

Lovely experience, great prelude to a show

Have been to The Old Glasshouse on 2 previous occasions and received fantastic service and food so I had no concerns recommending it to my friends. However, myself and 2 friends who hadn't been before, had a totally different experience last night. The set menu was different to the website as it hadn't been updated. When we arrived, we were told it was cash only so we were wondering if we had enough cash. We ordered our drinks and were told there was no Ice. My friend and I chose the blade of beef which I have chosen before and was delicious. However, the beef this time was so dry and stringy. My friend's beef was the same, it was inedible both of us left the majority of the meal. I feel the quality of the meat was poor. My other friend chose the chicken which was dry too. When the waitress collected the plates, I mentioned that the meat in all 3 meals was very dry and could she tell the chef. She didn't acknowledge my request or offer an apology. We were all so disappointed with the food and it spoilt the night. I'm really sorry to say I will not be returning to The Old Glasshouse and wouldn't recommend it to any friends or family. Shame on you, you didn't attempt to put your failings right. 😡

Great experience tonight at The Glasshouse, the restaurant was relatively quiet as expected this time in January. The menu was a set menu £20 2 courses or £25 3 courses, we had Soup and Garlic creamy mushrooms to start and Steak and Blade of Beef for main. Didn't want Dessert but the waitresses were all lovely, welcoming and friendly. Emily was especially lovely to talk to and attentive and made the experience a lovely one. We will certainly be back soon. Thank you!

Absolutely delicious food, staff slightly frantic but that's because it was busy and that's a good sign!!

Genuinely awful lunch. Waitress couldn’t take the order properly so chef ( dirty and smelly) came out to retake. Food dry and tasteless, no ketchup for those who had chips and waitress didn’t know difference between tonic and soda. Although bill reduced would have preferred a Greggs !! Awful

Booked a table for 5.15pm before show at town hall started at 7.30pm - staff very friendly. Food was beautiful. I had blade of beef which was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Chocolate brownie was gorgeous. Service however was slow. It was busy but at 7.15 we had to ask to cancel dessert as it was getting to late however staff did chase this up and we rushed it down. Drinks service was also slow and we had to go to the bar several times to chase up and order drinks. Would I go again? Most definitely. Just make sure you have plenty of time and patience as it was worth the wait.

31st October 21. Just had beautiful meal here at the Glasshouse, 21 of us the food was amazing. The staff where so good manager is delightful very customer care at all times, but also speaks to staff in a nice way. Chef did us all proud hot food good choice all served together thank you. Girls so helpful, special thanks to Molly and Maddy plus the other waitress 5 star. Thank you all

Nice place ,lovely meals beef in red wine sauce is amazing . lovely lights on a night time makes place look lovely .great for a special occasion . people are very friendly who run it. Highly recommended.

Very poor service. Food should have been served at 17.00 and was actually served at 18.30. Coffee was cold not enough cups should have been free and they charged for it when ordered at the bar. Most people had to leave before the food came as they like us had a 2 and half hour journey home. Wouldn't recommend it to any one for function. Spoilt what was already an upsetting day as a wake for my sister

Nice food just very slow on service, food came quite quick but the service for drinks was very slow they are missing some buisness not keeping on top of watching if your glass is empty. Also we could of walked out several times without paying our bill because that took 4 attempts to bring it. The staff get wat laid if someone asked for something like a drink they do that first instead of finishing the task they are all ready doing and just explain to the customer that they have a job in hand and they can then come back to them, they seem as though they are trying to hard to please to many customers at one time but are missing out in other ways so it makes it look as though they neglecting there customers and that is a shame because they are trying really hard they just need to organise themselves and stop stressing to get everything done together

Fantastic food, an excellent meal!

Beautiful building looks like owner has spent a good few bringing restaurant ambiance spot one but unfortunately menu wasnt that appetizing to want to returning. Working in a restaurant myself before restaurant opens you make sure to what ever is being served from their menu you fill up on condiments. I did hear the few who were ordering ordered fish as did myself but there was no tartar no sauces and when asked for seasoning their reply was they have run out....run out!!!!! We were first into restaurant when it opened . Would also be a good choice to be serving cocktails. Staff were new but very polite girls Such a shame if only menu and customer care was first priority you would be at the top to wanting to be returning.

The positives first It’s a lovely place with a lovely atmosphere. Now the negatives Upon arriving we said that we had a table booked to which we got the response have you not the best of starts. We then were told to just pick a table which is a petty thing but you would normally get shown to your table. We than waited a while for menus to be bought over which they were then the waitress just went to walk of with asking if we wanted any drinks first. I called her back politely and asked if we could order some we asked for a Diet Coke no problem then I asked what largers were available to which she said she didn’t understand and worked off. When she came back for the Diet Coke I asked again to which I got the same response and ended up having to go up the bar and get a drink that way. We then waited a good 10/15 mins for our order to be taken which again was a bit of a mission the waitress clearly didn’t have a good understanding of English so we pointed out what we wanted on the menu which worked great. Our starters came quite quick and I have to say they were amazing….. So this we thought would make up for the poor service THEN CAME THE MAINS… I had sea bass in a white wine sauce the sea bass was lovely unfortunately it’s all I could eat the sauce had split and was eatable. My wife had garlic chicken which was just a chicken breast no flavour at all. We were going to complain but after trying to explain to the waitress the problems we gave up and asked for the bill 35 mins later we asked for the bill for a third time. While still waiting we saw a waitress move tables and not clean them and then sit someone there she than dropped a drink and just left it……. Do not visit which is a real shame has it looks a really nice place from the outside……

It's a shame we never got to try this place, 6pm, only wanted to stay an hour, empty tables, they dont accept walk-ins.
