A real little treasure trove. Huge selection of preloved and new books, local authors, plus crafts, pictures, pottery and jewellery. Absolutely worth a visit.

Polite staff, can help you with finding what you're looking for. It has that feeling of a book shop come library. Very nice and relaxing place.

It is a lovely second-hand book shop with a massive selection. The store owner was really nice and helpful. It has free off-road parking and is easy to find. They also have a section in the store up stairs for crafts and crystals and some antiques, making it a true curiosity shop. Would definitely recommend a visit and will be returning in the near future as the owner did say they have hundreds of different books delivered to stock each week. The store is in what I believe used to be an old house. It is unfortunately not wheel chair accessible as there are steps, and it's tight inside due to all of the books.

The shop was great, the service was not. The woman who served me was patronising and rude, this has really put me off going back to an otherwise lovely shop.

Really good, came here specially on a day off having researched good bookshops and we were not disappointed. Spent a good hour and a half browsing, the proprietor was friendly and helpful and even made us a cup of tea. A wide range of books and it was just a pleasant experience browsing at our leisure. Came away with a fair amount of books for a good price. Would certainly visit again...handy parking at the back.

Super packed with preloved books nicely sorted into genres so it's easy to navigate. A real bookshop! Also a small yarn and craft room. Looking forward to returning.

Brilliant place for good quality second hand books. 50,000 and counting, all organised into labelled sections so you can find your favourite authors, genres and non fiction subjects. Upstairs is a room seeing knitting wool, some jewellery and a few craft bits.

Nice Shop with a Good Selection of Books for All, but sadly We found the Proprietor 'Obnoxious' & therefore said "We won't be Returning". We all felt the same & Just being Honest.

The person in charge was pushy with us and trying to force us to buy a set of books that weren't in the shop when we only wanted a singular book from that series. Won't be coming back!!

A very welcoming 2nd hand book shop! The bookshop fairy is always going above and beyond to help and there is a huge variety of books to tickle anyone's fancy!! My most favourite place in the Loughborough area! Do visit for all your literary needs!

Wanted to go here for a while. A little disappointed. I’d always imagined a little snug area where you could read for a while before buying a mountain of books. But a good selection. It just wasn’t what I thought.

This is a hidden gem. A well-organised, diverse second-hand bookshop with books aplenty - both new and old. The owner was friendly and helpful too. Will return when I'm next in the mood for some book purchases and would recommend to anyone!

This is a real friendly secondhand bookshop. Organised into topics and subjects enough with surprises to be found. Not sure if on purpose but felt to me like Tina, the owner, has a sixth sense for how my brain worked and what I’d like. On a quiet Saturday I spent 2 hours immersed in browsing. Lovely cup of tea also helped feel at home. Not just for adults. Some children also popped in and were treated as individuals, their questions answered and helped to find their interest…in one case “gaming books”….and yes, Tina showed them where she had Minecraft. Lovely to see Rhein eyes light up. Many titles took me back to my own 70’s childhood. Great place to lose yourself for an hour two. Tina said she revolves the stock regularly and has a free section too.

Have an unbelievable selection of books - I can happily spend hours looking through the collections, however didn't have a very specific one that I wanted, so ordered it in for me at a very reasonable price. Great service and their genuine love for all things books is obvious.

A place of wonder could spend hours here, and if you can't find it it can bo ordered. Don't go digital, the feel and smell of books is a high.

Always had a lovely experience here with great service and a great helping hand when unsure what to read next! I've just subscribed to the monthly package aswell which includes 1 baby book for my son, 2 books for me and 2 books for my partner at such a good cost as well as free book marks and goodies! Can't go wrong!

Very disappointing, the staff member was very rude and patronising. The 'Antiques Centre' comprised of one dealer. The staff were unable and unwilling to offer any assistance regarding antiques. The book shop appeared well stocked!

Excellent sélection of preloaded books in fantastic condition. They even stock some first editions! Staff were lovely and very welcoming.

Tina has been so helpful this week. I live overseas and had to cancel my visit to my daughter in Derby. Contacted Tina by email to arrange Christmas gifts yo be sent direct. Photos/offers by email, and Tina could not have done more to help. Gifts wrapped and sent and family disaster averted. Small bookshops can only survive by doing things that Amazon CANT do…and The Old Curiosity Bookshop wins without a doubt.

Lovely and quirky. There are chairs dotted around the shop so that you can sit and read too. They sell very nice coffee and snacks too.

An absolutely brilliant bookshop. The owner is super welcoming and helpful, and she has an incredible range of books. She has implemented thorough covid hygiene procedures - visitors must wear a mask, and she provides hand gel and gloves free of charge. There are spots on the floor to help maintain social distancing. The shop is also dog-friendly! Definitely would recommend.

Lovely cake and coffee at a reasonable price. Looks like there are plenty of books inside, though I only stopped for a cake on a walk so didn't go inside. You need a face mask if you want to view the books.

My daughter and husband bought me and my husband an afternoon tea token for Christmas,I've been following a keto diet for the last month, and the proprietor set me a lovely tea with no carbs and sugar, she hadn't made one before and she did a lovely job, my husband's looked really nice, so I'd like to thank you for a lovely tea x

A fantastic place if you love books you must go, the cakes and jams are beautiful and the lady who runs it is lovely... ten out of ten definitely recommend to go even afternoon tea you wont be disappointed

This really is how a tea shop should be! A bookshop too...in fact the place is full of interesting items, from old books, to china teapots, all for sale. The tea is wonderful, served in proper cups, with all the accessories - sugar rings included. Food is restricted to cakes, crumpets and sandwiches. We spent a delightful hour here and shall make it a regular spot to visit.
