We had a fantastic time at our company's end of summer party! Neve was great at communicating and adapting to our needs. The food was lovely, big variety and catered for a range of dietary requirements. The garden is beautiful and we caught the last of the summer sun! Perfect for large groups. Thanks for having us!

We visited this pub two years ago, and I can honestly say it has got better and better. Warm welcome, excellent service with very friendly staff and food really tasty and hot, we would definitely recommend this pub came two nights running and definitely would return when back in this area as we are from Cumbria, only one problem is parking which isn't the pubs fault at all. Thank you to all the staff.

Table booked for 5, not an issue. The table given to us, not suitable. No way 5 people were sitting around that table comfortably. Waiting staff not really interested, and rather uncommunicative. The menu is just strange for a better term. The usual burger, steak and fish and chips are there then a random collection of strange additions that really don't work nor suit the place. No starters as defined but "Smaller plates" again, just strange. Eton mess served in a beer glass? Christ who thought that a good idea oh and the clearly frozen fruit used rather than fresh were tart as hell. Notbsurevi will be giving it another try.

Pleasant waiting staff . A super standard for pub food. My husband enjoyed his Burger & although I only had a small plate salad with heritage tomatoes , it was full of flavour . Prices were very reasonable & worth a visit.

The Crown has long been our cherished country pub, a place we've frequented on and off for over fifteen years. Regrettably, this is the first time I feel compelled to share a negative experience. I completely understand that pubs like The Crown need to cater to families, especially in the inviting back garden. However, this has inadvertently led to a significant issue. While today’s Sunday lunch was truly impeccable, the ambiance was tragically marred by undisciplined and unsupervised children. At one point, a child was racing around behind us, climbing a tree just inches from our table, sending bits of bark tumbling onto our meal. Meanwhile, the parents remained engrossed in their phones, seemingly oblivious to the chaos unfolding nearby. This situation is simply unacceptable. It is essential that children be supervised (maybe a sign at the gate) at all times; after all, this is a pub, not a playground for little Johnny and Jemima.

Picturesque country pub. We went in for drinks but they were king enough to make us a small side, even though it was late! Thank you.

Lovely pub. Great food & very helpful friendly staff in particular Kate. We were made welcome by everyone. We were staying in & B& B nearby for 2 nights & ate at the pub both evenings. All our meals were great

An absolute delight in every way! The Lodge set in the most gorgeous garden was new to me and didn't disappoint at all. Service was excellent, food delicious (we had the Fish and Chips special followed by lemon posset) and very good value. The whole experience (made even more smiley by the sun shining) was great - one that I shall be repeating with other friends in the future. Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch in the cosy garden room at The Old Crown Inn. Service was fantastic, Emma went over and above to make us welcome and was so helpful when we booked as well. Delicious food, generous portions and a great garden space for the dog owners in our group to stretch legs. Highly recommended!

What a fabulous evening. I had Welsh Rarebit and wild mushrooms, my husband had Salmon, beetroot, creme fraiche sorrel to start with. I then enjoyed the lamb Kofta (which was more than enough!) and hub had braised beef short rib. The staff were warm, and welcoming and very attentive. We will be back over the Christmas! Thank you to all the staff who made the night such fun.

Genuinely disappointing visit. Booked months in advance for a birthfay meal and rang twice before hand to specifically request to be seated in the lodge. Apon arrival was told we were booked in at the bar which was super full and very loud. Spoke to staff who said the person who booked us mustnt have written it down about requsting the lodge - which I find very hard to belive as i rang twice to check and they confirmed we were to be seated out there. Staff squeezed us in to the restaurant which seemed like our only option due to the time of year we would have had no luck trying another pub due to christmas business. Can understand if the Lodge needed to be used for larger parties, but maybe be worth letting customers know who booked before hand that their specific requests have been changed. I genuinely booked here specifically because of the atmosphere/ cosiness of the lodge. Otherwise would have planned to go elsewhere for the birthday. Food was ok but as we finished up eating what looked like a woodlice of some sort fell from the ceiling into one of the plates. Didn't see any point in complaining about this as we were pretty miffed in the first place. Won't bother coming back now due to the complete disregard of customer service.

We had a late lunch here-steak & chips and lamb kofta. Great service and the food was delicious. Easy parking just over the road.

Popped in on spec for dinner (no booking) on Saturday. They were full but managed to squeeze us in next to a roaring fire, which was great. I had bread and oils which was delicious, there was two much bread which was welcome. It would have fed two. See photo. For mains we had a burger and sea bream. Both meals were perfectly cooked and presented and both were generous portions. To drink we had a glass of wine and a lager. We were very pleased with the service and price. We would definitely eat there again and would recommend anyone else to. Thank you.

Had a 70th Birthday meal a group of 16 Adults/Children and the Food was amazing and the Desserts were xtramazing. a very friendly place with very welcoming staff

Came on a Wednesday afternoon. Spoilt with choices for snacks and drinks. BEST place to come with the warm fires, views and amazing personal service. Thank you guys x

We made a reservation for 10 people in the Garden House situated at the back of the main pub. Unfortunately the weather was very unkind (more like Mancunian weather which we are used to 🙄) it was lagging down all day, however the gardens are beautiful and I can imagine how lovely it would be on a nice day as the setting is stunning and gardens really well kept. The garden house is a genius idea, it has it’s own little bar and is spacious. I guess they roll down the sides when the sun is shining to give it a real country look and feel. Food:- The food was superb, from Fish and Chips to Sunday roast, really good quality food. The waitresses were very very attentive and we didn’t mind the service charge being added to the bill as the service was first class. If you are in the area, this place is a must visit, especially if the weather is kind, you won’t be disappointed. Sadly no photos to share due to the weather

The most amazing roast followed by some drinks and toasted marshmallows in the garden for some evening sunshine. Every Sunday weather permitting expect some roasted marshmallows 😍♥️

First time having a Sunday lunch and it was lovely, both me and my eldest son had the roast pork which was very tasty and my youngest had the children’s chicken burger to which he said was the best chicken burger he had ever had, the staff were friendly and happy to help

We visited The Old Crown as a family (4 adults and 3 childen) for Sunday lunch. We opted for a table in the Garden Lodge which was a really nice setting. Nice decor, heaters, spacious - it had generally a nice atmosphere. Staff were friendly and polite. One of the meals was served cold, but this was rectified quickly and efficiently. The food portions served are very generous! Even the children's meals are a good size! The desserts are very very big! Overall, the food was tasty and well presented

The atmosphere and environment are fantastic. Great location. The food was good. My only comment is that it’s such a shame there aren’t any vegan deserts except sorbet. It’s so easy to make a vegan GF brownie or similar or to even have a dairy free ice cream in. Being stuck with sorbet when everyone at the table tucks in to a delicious looking pudding is a little bit disappointing. Made two out of seven feel a bit left out.

Well what can i say we had a really good experience last time we came but cannot say the same for this time round. Big birthday for a family member, we were all given a menu to pre order, which is whist we did. Upon arrival service was good, got drinks quickly and seated in the outdoor barn which was pleasant. First issue - starters, ordered crusty bread with balsamic and olive oil, we received a bread crisp and 2 thin bits of bread with a strange whipped dip? thought not right but we will carry on. SERIOUS ISSUE NEXT - We ordered lamb ragu, when it came a few of us knew straight away it was not lamb, one being a chef :D when the menus came out to choose puddings the WHOLE MENU WAS DIFFERENT TO WHAT WE PRE ORDERED, some dishes stayed the same of course such as Pork (which was tough as old boots and when asked for a steak knife nothing arrived) burgers and fish and chips, but the ragu had changed from lamb to pork. Someone on our table does not eat pork and had eaten pork. Why did we have to pre order everything for you to bring us everything off the current menu?? Also the specials menu we would've liked to have some choice of as they sounded better than what we were offered! When we complained we were told that the kitchen assured us it was definately lamb not pork...........it wasn't though was it, we all tasted it was NOT lamb, the started came off of the new menu as did allllll the other food, so its a very bad lie/cop out to not get in trouble. All we were offered was a free pint of poxy Guiness and half of the bread removed. Not only is this a terrible allergy issue but also religious issue to mess up meat orders. All in all the food was nothing but average and i wont be returning due to service upon complaint and of course being served wrong meat and food.

Met with friends, love sitting inside on the right as you walk in! Waitress was very sweet-Lamb Ragu with Pappardelle was to die for, wine selection was great, can defo recommend. Oh! dog-friendly too.

We came for lunch on Saturday, very friendly staff that love dogs! Lovely traditional cosy pub with log fires and the outside garden hut is equally as gorgeous with lots of heaters and fur blankets. Very reasonably priced. The only thing is the menu is a bit different, none of the starters stood out to me, nor mains so i went for the fish and chips - which was delicious. Would 100% return.

Amazing Sunday roast dinner. Having eaten all around Bath, this was by far the best Sunday roast. Went for the beef that just melted in my mouth, everything else on the plate was delicious, and it was a large serving too. Highly recommend

Really happy to be out lunching again. The Old Crown Inn has made a big effort to provide an outdoor covered area that is warm and tasteful. 4 of us met for lunch and really enjoyed our experience. We went to the Old Crown on the Sunday before the second lockdown for a nice roast before the pubs and restaurants shut again. We rang up the night before and could only get a 12 noon reservation, normally a good sign, so were the first there. Reading the reviews we were very hopeful but left a bit disappointed. The pub is nice, very old but clean and tidy and the real fires were roaring away. The welcome and service was good but unfortunately the food was a bit of a let down. I was torn between the beef and pork, both £14, so asked the waitress to let the chef choose for me. I ended up with the roast beef which was overcooked and not that tasty and my wife had the nut roast which she said was quite good. The veg however was not the best, rock hard carrots and parsnips which looked like they hadn't been washed, 3 small roast potatoes and a small portion of hard cauliflower cheese. Maybe the veg wasn't cooked properly because we were so early but that doesn't excuse the overcooked beef. Won't be in a hurry to go back.

Visité a principios de septiembre en un hermoso día soleado. Nos sentamos en el hermoso jardín y disfrutamos de un buen almuerzo. Aunque todavía en cajas de cartón y servido con cubiertos de madera, era simplemente encantador. Tuve un Buddha Bowl que era tan sabroso y enorme: ¡la ventaja de las cajas para llevar es que puedes llevarte a casa tus sobras y almorzar al día siguiente! ! Medidas realmente buenas para sentirse seguro y un buen sistema. Gran servicio y caras felices, bien hecho durante este momento difícil.

Fui al Crown Inn a almorzar por primera vez desde Lockdown. Decepcionado de encontrar una nueva dirección que ha cambiado lo que era un pub / restaurante agradable y único en un pub común y corriente. Comida muy decepcionante. Fue agradable ver a uno de los antiguos camareros, señaló a uno de los nuevos propietarios que siempre estaba sirviendo comida, no era particularmente amable, no dijo hola, para un nuevo propietario uno pensaría que se habría puesto a sí misma. para dar la bienvenida a los clientes. No estoy seguro de que volvamos rápidamente. La atmósfera amistosa se ha ido. ¡DECEPCIONANTE! ! ! !

El equipo había hecho un excelente trabajo al transformar el jardín en un espacio seguro para disfrutar de algunas bebidas y comida. Había un ambiente agradable y el diseño permitió a las personas ponerse al día de una manera socialmente distanciada. Aunque el menú era limitado, la comida era excelente y no podía diferenciar la calidad de la pre-COVID, a pesar de que se servía en recipientes con cubiertos desechables. Definitivamente recomendaría pasar una noche aquí, especialmente para aquellos que están ansiosos por salir del encierro, ya que el equipo fue muy amable y servicial.

We’ve not been here for a while, and we’re pleased to say it’s still has a certain charm.It was warm with two fire in two of the rooms..The staff were very friendly and gave us a choice of tables.Three of us choose the pie of the day which was beef and Bath blue cheese, this served with triple cooked chips, was a proper pie made with “hot water pastry” and was amazing.My wife choose the bhudda bowl with various tempura battered vegetables..This was a good shout and I’m sure we will call again.

Went in on a Friday lunchtime with Grand kids. Some tables had reserved on them and were just about to go when they found us a table for 4 in the far end room. Staff immediately came to table with a jug of water and glasses and the menus. 3 of us went for Fish and Chips which, on a Friday, came with a drink. Nice food and a good offer (I think it was around £12 for Fish and chips with a pint of Bass included). One person had a Buddha bowl of Veggie stuff which she enjoyed. Nice pub, attentive staff and (not open in January) but there is an area in the garden which is enclosed with patio heaters etc. which grand kids like (having visited before) Would I recommend it Yes. Old style quirky interior.

My husband and I first came to Kelston for our honeymoon and this pub was the first place we chose to eat - it was a Monday night which meant the kitchen wasn't open but the staff would cook and bring something for everyone to share. However the young lady working in the pub created something especially for us. My dessert a trio of sorbets with popping candy was delicious.The pub garden was the one thing that I really adored, it had a kind of magical experience and I looked forward to going there every year.Over the past 5 years of marriage and returning to this same pub near our anniversary to celebrate we have seen a lot of change. At first a make over of the pub was carried out - for my husband and I we felt it had lost some of its charm. Then there was a change to the garden but it was still very lovely.On our last visit we decided to pop into the pub on a Tuesday and the kitchen was closed with a message that it wouldn't be open the next day so we caught a bus to town. On visiting the pub later in the week we also spotted we were no longer allowed in the garden except on weekends.Our anniversary is in October and this year was a particularly wet one so I'm not sure if that was the reason for closing the garden.We loved the Bath cheese pizza but that was removed from the menu.I really hope this place gets back some of it's charm but for now we've decided to go to Wales instead.

We were in Bath for the Christmas market and were staying in a B and B a few minutes walk up the road. We phoned ahead to book a table and luckily they had a table. The pub was very warm and the staff were welcoming. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We ordered a steak and a burger and both meals were delicious. We both had a dessert, and again, these were lovely. We both had a few drinks and our bill was very reasonably priced. Would definitely return if we were in the area.

I have just left the old crown inn in Bitton after being denied a table at an empty pub. The staff were rude and said they were completely booked up all day.However, my sister spotted a table of two which was completely free. They then said we could sit there but after the welcome we had we decided to leave immediately. Would NOT recommend.Have a lovely a Christmas to whoever’s reading this.

We are currently visiting bath and the Old Crown Inn is just down the road from the cottage where we are staying. We decided to book a table for Saturday evening so we could have dinner and enjoy a few drinks. Unfortunately, the food was extremely mediocre and the experience was ruined by what was sub-par service; at one point we had to wait 15 minutes just to have our plates cleared and requested water 3 times before we got any.What was really disappointing was the lack of engagement by the staff, they showed no real interest in checking on the food or the other diners of where we were seated. We requested dessert; after 30 minutes this never arrived so we requested the bill and the card machine so we could just pay and go. The staff member never returned and I had to get up and go and pay at the bar. In all, it was extremely disappointing and considering the prices charged, not at all value for money.

Booked a table for 20 Saturday 23rd November and due to a mechanical failure of one of the cars everything was severely delayed. However this was not a problem the staff were superb and friendly taking everything in their stride. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING

4 de nosotros elegimos este pub porque era el más cercano a donde estaban alojados y nos dirigíamos a su encuentro. No nos decepcionó, era a mediados de semana, así que no nos habíamos molestado en reservar, afortunadamente tenían una mesa disponible. Los menús y las bebidas llegaron rápidamente, desafortunadamente la comida tardó bastante más. Como éramos dos parejas que no se habían conocido durante unos meses, teníamos mucho de qué hablar, de lo contrario la espera habría sido más problemática. La joven que nos atendió reconoció sin preguntar que la espera había sido inaceptable, se disculpó y nos ofreció una reducción razonable en nuestra factura. La comida era muy buena, el servicio amable y atento, pero como ya he dicho, lento. Me encantaría darles otra oportunidad, pero podría preguntar sobre posibles retrasos.

Visitamos la corona para el almuerzo del domingo y, aunque el servicio era bueno y el ambiente cálido y amable, la comida nos decepcionó un poco.Mi marido y yo tuvimos el rosbif que estaba demasiado cocido, no había verduras; solo dos tipos de repollo y salsa fina. El postre fue un poco mejor, tuve el crumble que era encantador, no demasiado dulce y un montón de natillas sin lácteos. Sin embargo, mi marido tenía la masa de galletas y el helado que era demasiado mantecoso / aceitoso y cocinado.Habíamos escuchado cosas buenas sobre este pub, así que quizás fue un mal día. El jardín de la cerveza se veía encantador, así que tal vez cuando llegue el verano le daremos otra oportunidad.

Queríamos una chimenea acogedora para disfrutar un sábado helado, así que nos dirigimos a Old Crown, que cuenta con múltiples fuegos abiertos y comidas gastropub. Sin reservar nos las arreglamos para tomar una mesa a la hora del almuerzo junto al fuego y pronto nos descongelamos. Me gustó la sensación de pub local con los clientes habituales en el bar y el perro de sueño obligatorio, pero luego los comedores son más formales pero agradablemente.

He comido aquí alrededor de 5 o 6 veces y siempre ha sido muy bueno. El pub es cálido y acogedor con un personal agradable y una buena selección de bebidas. La comida es muy sabrosa, las porciones son bastante grandes, ¡pero todavía no puedo resistirme a tener un entrante! Precioso jardín para los meses de verano y acogedor interior para el invierno. This pub is a giant of country pubs and it’s never failed me to impress with its cuisine, which lately has improved beyond its normally high standards. As ever the reliable Rachel is what makes this place tick.

Have eaten here before so was looking forward to going again. Checked the website and it states food served. It says Food Service Times main menu served Monday to Friday 12-2.30pm /6-9pm so we rocked up and guess what!

Stayed in Bath for the night. Both very tired after long day walking around Windsor and then onto Bath. Stumbled across this little gem of a country pub.

Went for Sunday Lunch today with friends. We all chose the Roast Beef and extremely glad that we did.

We ate here last night a nice warm welcome and drinks served at the table, we opted for the sausage roll starter at £7 it’s not cheap but very tasty, I then had the fish and chips which is a generous portion and very tasty, as was the pie, all in all a pleasant place to be

Four of us had lunch in their lovely garden.

We’ve been to the pub a number of times, usually for a drink and a snack. They have a lovely beer garden, log fires going in winter and a friendly atmosphere. Whilst we have had their burgers before, which are lovely, our dinner there in June was such a let down.

Based just around the corner, a typical local. Great food, top beer and lovely atmosphere. Simple design, visit again if in the area.

We are staying in a local cottage and booked for Sunday lunch. Staff were very welcoming on arrival and food was fast and absolutely delicious! The beer garden was gorgeous with plenty of room to sit in the sun. Very pleased with the service!

Booked here for Sunday lunch after reading all the positive reviews. Glad we did. Gorgeous roast beef dinner accompanied by delicious vegetables. All very tasty and piping hot. The only thing I could fault, was the fact that I only had two peas on my plate. I think this was probably a plating error, rather than a stingy portion. If I’m honest, I would have preferred more peas over two types of cabbage. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely return. Spent some time in the stunning garden after lunch. Top class couple of hours!

Lovely old pub with an ample lunch menu and plenty of parking opposite. My wife always said we should try it everytime we passed on our way to Bath. Took our opportunity today and were delighted by the service and the top quality food. Highly recommended!!

Había estado caminando por el magnífico campo local con sus impresionantes, si no exigentes (¡para mí de todos modos!) Colinas y probablemente lo había terminado un poco! ! De ahí el 'refresco salvavidas'. Éramos un grupo de 8 para el almuerzo y no nos decepcionó. La variedad de comida que ofrecían era buena y nuestro grupo seleccionó cinco (creo) variaciones y los platos limpios al final lo dijeron todo. Escogí el gammon con un huevo y estaba delicioso y abundante. Los platos de ensalada cerca de mí en la mesa estaban particularmente bien presentados. También parecía que acabábamos de sentarnos, pedimos bebidas y servimos la comida.

I visited the Old Crown Inn today for the first time, after travelling past it countless times.

Un gran hallazgo cerca de Bath, un hermoso y peculiar pub con una gran cervecería al aire libre y área de barbacoa. El personal está realmente complacido de verlo y nada es demasiado, incluso en sus períodos ocupados, mantienen un servicio al cliente excepcional. La cena del asado es deliciosa, la ternera es muy tierna, las papas asadas se cocinan con grasa de pato y son crujientes y ligeras, y el queso coliflor es una sensación de sabor. Las raciones son generosas, especialmente las cenas de asados para niños, ¡lo único que lamento es no tener suficiente espacio para el menú de postres!

Visited with friends recently and had a very good time. The welcome and service far exceeded a “so called “ fine dining restaurant I visited yesterday. The food was delicious and I am looking to go again very soon.

Not your average Sunday roast , have been here now several times and the restaurant is always consistent. I had the pork belly with celeriac which was cooked to perfection great service and amazing pub garden. Definitely the best roast in town!
