We have walked past this pub countless times as we often visit Fishguard. It was very busy last Saturday so we needed a calm quiet beer garden so we gave the old coach house a try. I can’t believe we’ve ignored this little gem until now. Lovely staff, reasonably priced delicious food and drinks. The outside area was sheltered, very clean and a real effort had been made to have some flower displays. Definitely coming back and can’t wait to try Sunday lunch

Tried Sunday lunch which was amazing value. We had our Labrador so we sat in the bar area which wasn’t a problem. The first plate came out with beef , roast potatoes, mash potatoes, parsnip and stuffing balls. Then two bowls of vegetables, beens, cabbage, carrots , swede and peas! This was then complemented by a bowl of superb cauliflower cheese and a bowl of gravy! I can honestly say it’s the biggest Sunday lunch I have encountered and was delicious excellent quality. If you want a great Sunday lunch give it a try and have an apatite 😊

Visited last night with family, bit rough around the edges like some broken toilet seats in ladies, cheesy 90's dance music video channel on T.V. and signal on their card machine was struggling. However that aside period building, large beer garden, friendly staff, solid menu, great tasting food, generous portions, reasonable prices, accommodating, family friendly, small dog friendly (inside) extra attention given. All 8 of us happy. Recommend a visit when in Fishguard.

With so many pubs not serving food due to lack of staff, we were pleased to find food available here late in the afternoon. The cod and chips was the best we'd had in a long time, piping hot with the fish firm and moist and the chips cooked to a perfect golden colour. The Felinfoel IPA was in excellent condition, if served a little cold for our taste.Service was excellent, with all staff members friendly and helpful. We sat in the rear garden, which was quiet, clean, well sheltered from the wind and hung around with well tended hanging baskets. We gained the impression that it might get very lively inside, later in the evening.Recommended.

We stumbled upon this pub, after walking from Dinas Cross to Fishguard with our dog one lunchtime. The landlord gave us a very friendly welcome and the lady serving us called Amy was very efficient and attentive throughout. We ordered two lasagne and chips and two pints of cider. This came to around £21 which was very reasonable. The meals also came with garlic bread and salad and they kindly gave us two cooked sausages free of charge for our dog. We were advised that we could sit in a designated area of the bar with the dog or in the garden. We opted for the garden as it was a lovely day. Thank you for your hospitality, we will return when we next come to stay.

It had a fun atmosphere and friendly staff who were happy to help.Whilst I enjoy the rugby my husband is a football fan and asked the barmaid if they could possibly put the football on a separate TV for him. Chris the owner then opened up a separate function room in the back turned on the heating and the TV and let my husband into enjoy the match in peace! Once the match had finished we went to speak to Chris to say thank you and what a lovely friendly Man he is, even giving us a free shot to toast my birthday with! Have been drinking here for over 25 years since re-named from the Swan but currently being badly managed by people with bad attitude! Was recently served a bottle of wine following a funeral then informed we had had to much to drink which wasn't an issue but we were not allowed to bring our full bottle of wine with us so I asked for a refund. A member of staff assured me he had refunded the sale back onto my card but when I checked at the end of the week, the refund had not been processed. I phoned to discuss with the manager why the refund was not processed and I was fobbed me off with total nonsense so I would like to warn all potential customers that the once great Coach House of Fishguard has now reached the darkest depths of a place to avoid at ALL COSTS! Bad attitude, bad service and zero loyalty to good decent paying customers!

This pub seems to serve food most nights. It has an average pub menu but the dishes do change. The staff were friendly and helpful but the atmosphere is a little cold. There is a large dinning area, where we sat. There were only two other tables occupied so it felt quite quiet but there was no regular music - just the odd song we believe was put on the duke box. This made things feel a little awkward. The food tasted good and was of a reasonable standard.

It was our first night in Fishguard, on a cold and quiet Tuesday in October. As it was off-season, very few places were open , and those that were, were mostly empty. I liked the pub straight away, and the two barman - one on shift, one at the bar with us, were chatty and friendly, and we were deep in conversation within minutes. Later that evening a large, traditional folk group set up in the corner, the fire was roaring and the drinks were flowing freely. A great atmosphere with some talented musicians, it was the perfect introduction to Wales, and I wish I could go more often. Cheap drinks with a good range of local ales and recognised brands, this is a big pub with lots of charm. When our cab didn't show up, the guvnor drove us back to our b'n'b - fantastic service, but I wouldn't go in expecting it. WIll pop in again if we're back in Fishguard.

We went especially for Tuesday's folk night while we were on holiday in Fishguard, and as we're both big into folk music we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, it seemed like this pub was the completely wrong setting for such a night - no one there was listening and the pub was VERY loud which meant that we could barely hear the band :( There was one group of people by the bar who were standing there making noises like they were vomiting for 1/2 an hour, finding themselves very funny, and drowning out the music as they were right by the band. Aside from the volume, it was also very disgusting having to listen to people continuously mock-vomiting while we were eating our dinner. The bar staff did nothing about it. In the end we weren't the only people that left early, there was quite an exodus. The food was OK, nothing I'd go back for though. The pub itself was OK for what is was - if you want somewhere to go to watch football then that'd be the place to go. Apart from that it didn't have any charm or character like the other pubs of Fishguard, next time we'll definitely give it a miss.

Popped in on the Curry & Pint night. Reasonable selection of curries on offer, no local beers though which was a shame. Anyway, went for the chicken curry which was actually quite good and good value for money. The mistake was to ask for the dessert list. Lets ignore the eyerolling at this stage from the young lady who asked us if we wanted a dessert in the first place, but having made a choice, it came quickly but was nothing special. The cost was nearly as much as the Curry & Beer! What got me was being aggressively quizzed about whether I had paid for it (both before and after having the dessert and even as we left the building!). Atmosphere was very minimalist. Custom was likewise. Real shame as some care had obviously been taken in doing the place up a bit. If we go again, it will be for the curry only (which as I said was actually quite good) and won't be taking too long over the meal. And yes, I did pay, well before we headed for the door!

We live in the village. Keen to support local business ... but sorry... Awful. The food was awful! Dry and old. They did offer an alternative but it was SO awful that I was happy to leave. Never again.

The staff were all excellent. Nothing was too much trouble.the front of house chap was so kind to us and made us feel so welcome . Food was homemade and of a superb standard . Very clean .

Went for lunch at this venue yesterday. Don't order the garlic mushroom starter as it's a rip off. Got one puny slice of bread with what would probably equate to about two button mushrooms and creamy sauce, although it tasted great, come on £7.95 for this. Previously had more value for money with the previous owners. The small plate ham & egg was very good though and the service off Gleisny was good as always.

Didn’t disappoint. Lovely meals all served with humongous Yorkshire puds! Lashings of gravy and the cheesy leek dish was the best!
