If you order Sunday roast small position .. you will only get a slither of meat, 2 bites, and it's gone!! , in a large position, you will get 2 pieces of meat. I could barely see my meat on my plate it was so small!!! I'll never be going back there again. The gravy and cauliflower was lovely.

Popped in for a late lunch snack. Delightful pub with loads of space. Friendly staff and warm welcome. We could easily become regulars! There was an excellent menu but we just had coffee and a mini baguette served with a side of chips. Really good quality and value for money

This place is an absolute gem! A really old school, non-chain pub with hearty, high quality and excellently presented food. We had an antipasti board, some melt-in-your-mouth beef cheek, and a delicious afogato with lotus ice cream and lots of garnish! Everything was delicious, and for the price that you would pay in numerous nearby chains with far inferior quality. A wonderfully pretty, warm and cosy pub, with a buzzing atmosphere for dining.

Helped us out in a bind when needing a venue for a wake at short notice. A good country pub.

Service is good but food and beers were flat. Fish and chips was average. Burger was dry. Not worth the money

Consistently excellent for a Sunday roast. Love this pub for the food, atmosphere and choice. They bend over backwards to help.

The pub was fairly busy. The staff were very pleasant. Calamari starter was nice, Scampi main was ok, burger main was dry. Chips were good. Desert Fruit Crumble was very disappointing.

After hearing good things about the new ownership, my family booked a table for 6 adults for Sunday lunch. We couldn't get over how busy it was with nearly every table filled. The last time I saw a place so busy was well before covid, so this was a pleasant sight. We ordered 6 roast dinners from a range of beef, lamb, pork and chicken and every family member throughly enjoyed their meal. The vegetables were freshly prepared and the meat perfectly cooked. The reason I dropped one star for the food is because my Yorkshire pudding was slightly well done for me but that's my own preference. We all ordered desserts and were very pleased when we were offered the option of cream, custard and ice cream, usually this is an either or option. To sum it up, we all enjoyed the experience, great food and great atmosphere with very friendly staff and will definitely go back!

We went in on a Sunday afternoon after booking 1/2 hr before our arrival for a roast. Unfortunately the beef had sold out by the time we got there around 2.45. I had the lamb which was cooked to perfection. Lovely and tender. My wife had the chicken which was a breast and wing. Plenty of potatoes and cauliflower cheese. Not the cheapest roast but a quality one. Would recommend

Visited for lunch because of an article in the local paper. Bit of a trek for us but we'll worth the journey. Luckily it was sunny, we had to sit in the garden as the bar was booked out for a wake. As I was paying my wife was invited to join the mourners for lunch!

Friendly staff and decent atmosphere on a Friday evening, but the food was poor. Monkfish overcooked, no seasoning, tasteless sauce. Given the high ratings I can only assume there’s been a change of chef. Wouldn’t recommend

Really nice thatched pub with low beamed ceilings and a cosy fireplace. Always offering somthing unique on the specials board. Plenty of seating for dining with a generous pub garden.

We decided to go out for Sunday lunch and came across this lovely pub. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and found us a table even though we hadn't booked. Food was very tasty and came out really quickly. Watching regulars around the pub you could see that it was a popular place to eat and drink. Looking forward to returning one day soon.

The food was mediocre, the ravioli being tasteless, the service was painfully slow.

I can’t even comment on the food but can say that my mother booked the table two weeks ago and we arrived early. After they had given us the menus a guy came over and said they literally had nothing left to eat!! This was supposed to be a nice family lunch for my 50th birthday. We then struggled to find another pub to take 10 of us but luckily we did and we were fed. To say we were disappointed and upset is an understatement. Thanks for making what should of been a lovely family lunch a total disaster

Some of the best pub food I've had in a very long time! Very helpful throughout the small group booking process and pre ordering food, and flexible on the day too. Would certainly recommend The Old Belle and Crown for its food, service, and relaxed ambience.

We visited recently to celebrate our first date 15 years ago in this place!! We weren't disappointed. The food was delicious and everyone very friendly. Unfortunately there was a power cut locally which meant cutting our visit short but we'll definitely be back!!

You went out of your way to accommodate us all so we didn’t have to travel to the Bell & Crown 61 miles away for our Xmas get together & could stay local. The chaps loved your choice of real ales & the food you had available was outstanding!! An old traditional pub with no televisions! A delight, good beer and food. Highly recommended.

We attended a wake here in November. Very friendly staff. The hot and cold food served was plentiful, varied and very good quality. We had a lovely area to sit and chat and we're made to feel welcome and unrushed. We hope to return on a happier occasion. 🙂

Went there on a quiet Monday lunch time. Very nice staff, excellent choice of menu, all meals and desserts were delicious. Would definitely go there again. We were a group of 7 and everyone was pleased with the lunch.

With over 100 years of history this place is a must stop! From the picture worthy exterior to the local beers and wonderful dishes. The menu changes often and the soups are outstanding.

Took my girlfriend here whilst we were away for her birthday celebrations and the service was absolutely incredible! So attentive to us (was quiet but just got the feel the service would have been the same regardless) The place was gorgeous, low ceiling country pub with a good selection on the menu. We decided on an antipasti share board to start which was amazing, such good quality meats and products and brilliant value for money! Then onto the mains, my girlfriend had a wild mushroom tagliatelle which she enjoyed very much and I had a butterflied chicken breast coated in onion chutney, mozzarella and parma ham with corn, broccoli and saute potatoes. Then onto dessert in which we went for the white chocolate creme brulee which was perfectly caramelised over the top and a bakewell tart which was so moist and soft. Also have to mention the fact that my girlfriend doesn't drink and has a Virgin Mary most of the time and the barman made the offer of celery salt for it, which you don't find in many places which really compliments and elevates the flavour. All in all nothing could be faulted with the service or food at The Old Bell and Crown. 10/10 would visit again and recommend.
