Booked the conservatory for our wedding reception for 20 people. Sue and the team were amazing everything was perfect. The conservatory and the rest of the pub is a beautiful place to be. Big thanks to the whole team. Would highly recommend.

The breakfasts (served only) on Friday and Saturday morning are the best for miles around.

Visiting the area for Carfest and staying nearby. Made very welcome at The Oak. Enjoyed a pint on Friday evening and returned for great breakfast Saturday morning. Lovely family run place. Gluten free options not a problem. Highly recommended.

We decided on this pub for a family gathering by chance. And what a great chance it was. The pub is lovely, very welcoming, dog friendly. The team went out of their way to make.sure we were ok. The food was lovely. Absolutely be going back again. A real gem.

Lovely lunch with young kids. Great food, attentive service and beautiful floral umbrella covered seating area. Only thing that would make it better is kids playground!

Had a wonderful pre wedding meal with my mother in law and auntie, it was brilliant would absolutely go again. The staff were brilliant considering they were busy with their very successful and interesting brush party that was going on which looked cool! Keep up the good work!

After visiting Stonehenge, we were searching for refreshments and food, and this place was definitely worth the short trip. Not only was the food and service awesome, but so was the beautiful building and grounds.

Best pub in the area by far! Has something for everyone, cosy inside ‘traditional’ pub area, beautifully decorated conservatory, fun pub garden with giant deckchair and umbrella ceiling, and a couple of pods plus the posh pod! Food is always stellar and a great selection of pub favourites, burgers and specials. Best pub dessert menu by far. Or great just for a few after work drinks in the garden. And the service is always impeccable. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We went with some old friends for dinner. Good food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Nice outside under cover seating area and garden. Will definitely be returning.

Certain members of the group were charged more for the same items and others were charged less. Asked if serving food, we were told yes. When we went to order we were then told they were not serving food.

Beautiful building with excellent decoration and ambience both indoors and outdoors. The food was delicious and fresh. A great range of food and drinks to choose from. The staff were absolutely wonderful. They were all very pleasant, friendly and helpful. My family will definitely visit again.

Had a lovely meal with friends here, in the new, large pod outside the front. Great service and the pod was amazing.

I recently reserved one of the outdoor pods for Sunday lunch with my wife and two young children. The pod itself was clean, nicely decorated and provided a secluded spot for my children to be mildly exuberant without affecting other patrons. The service from the staff was friendly and efficient, and the food was absolutely fantastic. We had roast lamb, and the children had chicken & chips - all well cooked and enjoyed! We will definitely be back and sitting in an outdoor pod again!

So, we were really disappointed with the food. We ordered camembert for a starter, on arrival it had obviously curdled so we sent it back to be changed. Unfortunately it arrived the same again. The mains sadly didn't pick up. With over cooked fish and what seemed like thrice cooked sausages. However. The waitress Olivia was a breath of fresh air. Very attentive, apologetic and to be honest, just lovely. Never say never again. But it wasn't for us this evening.

In my opinion the best tasting breakfast in Andover. Staff are always welcoming and it's lovely pub.

This is what you think of when you want a country pub. Family run, dog and family friendly, rustic homemade food, great portions, and caring waiting staff. Was there for a work meeting, but I will be coming back with my husband and dog!

Beautiful country pub. Staff were lovely and saw to all our needs. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating area. Field to walk your dogs. Also if you come out of the pub and turn right, continue all the way down that road instead of going left at the bend go straight on for about half a mile to a mile roughly and on the right or left is a woodland area you can go for a nice little walk. Dont get lost :)

I had the pleasure of having lunch at The Oak today with some of my family including two small children The food and service was superb. Nothing was too much trouble and we were looked after very well. The pub is lovely inside and out and we’re very much looking forward to our next visit .

It's a beautiful place, but the food could be better; specifically the mac and cheese, as I found it very oily. The decorations outside are an amazing look though. Would recommend if going for breakfast, though.

I had a meal today with a friend and as thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Mandy as always provides a warm professional welcome. She is so approachable and makes the visit even more special! I had the vegetarian lasagne and my friend had the chicken curry which we both enjoyed. It's all home cooked and delicious. With the log burner keeping us cosy it truly makes a lunch time a special event. Prices are reasonable. Would highly recommend!

I went to The Oak on my own at the last minute for dinner yesterday and the team couldn't be more helpful and accommodating to find me a table. The service and food was first class and it is the best pub around Andover by far.

Love The Oak in Smannell, friendly village pub with lots of locals and wonderful staff. Sue the landlady is so nice and always treats everyone like a friend. Great in the summer and winter and the pods are a must try. Thanks for a great new year's.

I had a lovely meal at The Oak. The sausage and mash was incredibly delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for. The service was impeccable. I will definitely be returning!

Great find. We met a friend halfway for lunch, searched dog friendly and found the oak. Food is nice, service is good and the fact they allow dogs is great. We've sat in the conservatory each time we've been and have been comfortable enough. Can't wait to come in the summer to try out the pods in the garden

Always a nice welcome and friendly service. Good selection of lagers and ales to pick from. Food is always good with my favourite being the Cajun burger or the lamb if it’s a Sunday roast. Great outdoor seating area for the warmer months or a few outdoor pods for the colder times. Bar and restaurant seating and if lucky you can get near the open fires. Very dog friendly as well. 👍🏻

Revisited an old haunt, for a quick bite to eat and so pleased we did.The welcome is still warm and the locals are just lovely.We had 3 dogs, ine very well behaved, the other two a little more enthusiastic, but we were never made to feel we were a nuisance (Been in a dog walk and very muddy so sat outside).Definitely be our refuelling point again!

Very nice atmosphere of a countryside restaurant. The food is not that great. We ordered 4 different main dishes and all were mediocre at most.

Steak was extremely chewey,don't know if it was the cut or it was cooked too quickly but enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and staff were lovely

Quiet location at lunch time with great pub food

I was taken here for my birthday and it was a lovely surprise to be eating in one of the pods. The young girls serving us were fantastic and the food was lovely. They put a candle in my dessert and joined in singing Happy Birthday. I will definitely be returning.

Much revamped pub and beer garden since our last visit. We had the Sunday roast in one of the pods and it was outstanding. Meat just melted in your mouth, plenty of succulent veggies and extra gravy. Knickerbocker desserts to finish. Loved it. Waiting service friendly and helpful. Possibly new Sunday favourite.

We stopped here today for a quick drink after a long walk around the local woods. The pub was very busy but we were able to sit at the front outside with our dogs. The tables were clean and there was fresh dog water available. The drinks were so cold and the staff were polite. As I returned the glasses a staff member said thankyou and told me to have a good afternoon. We will in fact be returning in a couple of months for a very special celebratory meal and will be booking shortly.

The afternoon tea was delicious. Sandwiches, scones & variety of cakes were fresh & so yummy. It was served in Pod in their gardens which was very different & cute.Table was set for us arriving. Staff were very nice. Excellent value. Would highly recommend it.
