Great food great service lovely staff

Food was good - just very slow. Front of house staff need to improve how they do front of house - I could provide a long list, however here are my “Top 4”.. 1) If food is going to be delayed by more than half an hour, let your customer know when they order so they have the opportunity to request their drinks be served the same time as their food..or to even go elsewhere. You did not let me know..in fact, you made it worse by pointing out some other customers who you did inform. Guess I was just “unlucky”..? 2) If a customer has to order extra drinks because you didn’t let them know their food was going to take over 40 minutes to arrive, consider offering to waive the cost of the second lot of drinks - they’re having to incur that additional cost because of you. 3) Don’t leave Dettol surface cleaner unattended on low tables for 10 minutes..in fact, don’t leave surface cleaner unattended on any tables - use it and take it away - immediately. 4) Smile - there’s a warmer welcome to be had in the cemetery. Food’s good - you just need to treat your customers better. Hope you improve.

Service is very slow but the food is good. Ask to have your drinks with your food so it's not all gone before the food arrives.

Since this is my first time visiting this place, I thought I would share my experience. Nice clean place, with a relaxing atmosphere, did have a slight difficult ordering my food due to my speech implement, but the person who was serving me was patient and polite. The food was excellent and lovely. The only down side, was the parking, but lucky a friend showed me where to park. All in all, definitely recommend visiting 'The Old Bank Coffee & Wine'.

Friendly service with first class quality food.

Nice spot for a relaxed breakfast with plenty of choice on the menu including specials. The iced coffee was good and the food was tasty.

Probably the best pizza I've ever had was from here. Great prices. It's a lovely place, great atmosphere and super friendly staff too. 5 stars from me.

Had a breakfast last Friday with four friends. The food and drinks were top quality and the staff were brilliant. We all really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back.

We called in for breakfast about 20 minutes after opening time. There were two girls, one behind the counter who greated me and one who was flitting here and there. My wife and I sat down in the room on the left and waited for service. After several minutes no one came to our table to ask for our order or to even bring a menu. Waiting for service I noticed that the floor was quite dirty and after being ignored for quite a while we decided to leave rather than ask anyone as they seemed to have disappeared out of sight. I don't think they even noticed us leave. Certainly won't be going back!

Great place, just the espresso is bitter could do with a couple of blends to choose from

im a dog and cat sitter,need a coffee refill all the time. vist on 27th dec 2023 1.30 pm had my first visit and i love it. they have a proper decaf flat white and i had a desert. great prices too,quiet and chilling

It's areet, nowt special, service is poor at best, smells like a greasy spoon despite the decor, and for money I'd want more than "order at the counter, collect your own cutlery, menu etc" Latte was banging to be fair, but if they spent less time arsing about with making images in the Latte Froth and looking after customers it would be a step in the right direction

Called in yesterday 18 November and we were all looked after by a lovely lady who told us she is from New Zealand. Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and fantastic staff

Lovely little coffee shop in Orrell, I went for a brew and a piece of cake. Both were lovely. My friend who lives locally said that the place gets very busy on a weekend evening. I will say that the drinks are on the pricey side but sometimes it is worth paying that little bit more

Food & drink were amazing. Reasonably priced. It was clean and tidy. Staff, we're both professional and polite. Definitely recommend.. Parking is limited, but dont let that stop you from attending this lovely little place. Beer garden is both modern and spacious.

Nice pizza, large portion with good thin crust base perfectly cooked. Boxed up leftovers good to eat and heat up to eat the following day. The disabled loo very clean to use and accessible. The only issue we had was with the entrance. For my wheelchair the step was quite a way up and down was a big bump. In fairness we were offered assistance with this.

Long long wait for drinks and food. Too long, nearly walked out. Then when the food and drinks came found it wasn’t that good. Won’t be going again. Wouldn’t recommend.

Arrived 12.30. Only a brunch menu available. Ordered from that. Meals came with a large salad and homemadecoleslaw on side and were delicious. Staff were young girls but very helpful and efficient. Would visit again.

Just be aware that if you have your dog with you, you have to sit outside. Unforgiving, there aren't any signs to this effect. It's a shame because when it's typical British summer weather, sitting outside is not always an attractive option.

We eat out for breakfast *a lot* and The Old Bank is still the best amongst many!! Quality ingredients. Lovely service. Ready quickly. So lucky to have The Old Bank so close to home, but even if it was further away I’d travel to either collect or eat in (which we also do a lot!)

Local gem, the breakfasts are second to none.

Pizza was so tasty. Love a short crust and plenty toppings. Recommend the pepperoni bomba! 🍕👌

A wonderful little cafe and coffee shop

Finally had chance to stop off for mid morning coffee, wasn't disappointed. Staff were friendly, interior was informal and relaxing, had a Cappuccino which was a lovely flavoured coffee. Checked out the menu which looks tempting so I return visit is a must

We went for breakfast on Sunday 26.03.23. Service was great but what should have been 2 identical coffees was 1 in a cup 1 in a glass. Reason was we have ran out of semi skimmed milk. Also 1 poached egg white was runny. I would say for the cost it's not good value. Looking back at other reviews somebody's standards are letting you down.

We booked a breakfast meal for 10 2 weeks in advance for a Mothers day / a 74th birthday On arrival at 11am we where told we had to vacate the table by 12.15 this was repeated as guests arrive We where given 3 tatty menus that made you feel that you should wash your hands after reading. When we asked if anyone could take our order we where told we had to order at the counter. Without pen and paper we tried to order 10 meals only to be told no food orders where now being taken. The order was eventually sorted out At 11 40 we where once again told we would have to vacate at 12.15. We pointed out that we still hadn't got our food only to be told Very abruptly that we would still have leave at 12.15. A few minutes later the food arrived. One person was informed she only had a part of her breakfast the rest would arrive when it was cooked (which it did ) Food quality very good although beans luke warm Price £12.95 for a full English Experience. VERY embarrassing for the person who tried to make a breakfast meal a very special occasion. Would not recommend for a special occasion

Not impressed breakfast took 40 minutes to arrive by that time tea was cold. Cheap beans and hash brown raw

OK, I have eaten English Full Breakfasts all over Britain, in all sorts of venue and thought I would never beat my all time fave. However, The Old Bank just blew me awayyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I know it "just" an english breakfast, but honest to god it was amazing. Excellent service too.

Came for breakfast for my birthday. Sat down and waited for some time, sussed out you needed to order at the bar. Drinks came quickly. Coffee was not that warm. Waited 45 minutes for our food, service was very very slow and food was not the best. Disappointed as heard good things about this place.

Went out for breakfast with family it was our granddaughter 18th birthday exelent service everything nice and hot everything came out together

Had a lovely experience at the old bank today. I came in for a coffee and to do a bit of work. The environment was lovely as well as the service. A girl I think is called Talia was so lovely and welcoming and is a credit to the establishment. Would recommend highly.

Appalling service. Food ordered and delivered wrong, poor customer interactions. Even watched someone give another table drinks, and then walk away without clearing the mess from a previous customer. Sort it out because the food is good.

What can I say after a really stressful couple of days, casually called into this little gem wine bar lovely ambiance with gorgeous old recycled features and pleasant staff, food was lovely just what I needed, can’t fault it whatsoever!

I live round the corner , and me and my family have spent a fortune using old bank. Just went in to order takeaway. I only wanted a sandwich and coffee. The lad says to me the kitchen is shut! I said oh what time did it shut? He said 2.30 . I looked at my phone and it was 2.25. So I walked away , all that for a sandwich and coffee and I go there all the time. We'll Lee you have just lost another family of customers and I won't spend another penny in there !

We have just been here for a meal having tried 3 other places and thank goodness we did, really impressed with; the staff - brilliant and knowledgeable, the food, (pizza and parmesan/truffle chips), excellent but tbh we didn't like the truffle which is a personal choice) and the overall experience which was spot on. The reason I have given it 4 stars is because of the toilet door (which is important) it was quite hard to close and lock. We will definitely call in again whenever we're in this area.

The coffee was a little more expensive than other independent cafes but it was the nicest coffee I've had. The customer service was very good, polite and friendly (especially the blonde girl who served me, she'd only worked there for a month). I'd definitely go here again.

I came here today , around 11.45 , with family for 3 breastfast . On arrival , we asked for 3 menus and took a seat to look. We all decided to order the 3 mega breakfast. We went up to the counter to place the order , with the nice young girl (dark hair ), who began to take our order. We explained on two of the breakfast, we would like to replace two of the black pudding , with a mushroom , the girl put this on the till and then suddenly one of the older workers behind her turned around rudely to the young waitress and us , said we that are not allowed to change the black pudding and we will be charged extra for the mushroom. She gave us a dirty look and started shaking her head . We just said ,that would pay extra. At the end , the older lady said oh we can let you have it on the large breakfast and she won't charge extra . We waited a while for breakfast but it was tasty. We only agreed no black pudding on two of the 3 breakfast but then the one with a black pudding never came ,luckily the young lady bought it over 5 minutes later. The breakfast was nice and the bread but nothing special for nearly £12 per breakfast. After today's experience with the rude old lady , I don't think I'll be back here anytime soon. We didn't feel comfortable after . The young waitress with the dark hair , was really lovely but the other old lady had a stinking attitude, that has put us of. There are many lovely coffee house like the varani, tge copper tap and the vale Royal, so we will stick to those places now .

Love coming to The Old Bank. Staff are always so polite and attentive. The food is out of this world. Last visited on a Saturday in June and even though it was very busy, the food was top notch. I had the special that was on offer that day - a steak sandwich with egg and salsa. My husband had the Bombay potato soup which he thoroughly enjoyed! Will definitely be coming back very soon - I’m dying to try one of the Chocolate peanut butter milkshakes but I sadly was far too full on this visit to have one!! But mark my words - I’ll be back to try it!

We came in very late in PM but no problems getting great fast friendly service from kitchen and bar and thoroughly enjoyed the pizza. I'd def. go back.

Friendly staff good range of food

What a lovely place. Called in here today with my friend for the first time. Gorgeous little set up . Lovely beer garden. Ordered off the lunch menu. So I had a egg mayo sandwich with crisps and salad on the side it was huge in portion and plenty of delicious filling. So yummy . Also had the nicest cup of cappuccino coffee with chocolate on top I've ever had, It was so nice. The staff were very friendly, warm and welcoming 🙏. Will definitely return.

Review of the old bank pemberton. I have been the old bank pemberton 3 times now as live closer to it then the old bank orrell. The old bank pemberton, personally I feel are far behind the one in orrell and I’d definitely travel to orrell or even go the post house. Food not on par with orrell although same menu and price, food Cold and Luke warm, tried twice as I like given people the benefit of doubt. £25 for a bottle of Prosecco but given with wine glasses, I was told they had none, I asked to change to a bottle of wine, and then they found the right glasses. Old bank orrell 5 stars, food spot on, not cheap but worth it. Pemberton branch 2.5 stars need improvement on food and service.

Awful food and service. We live local and eat out for breakfast every weekend. First time trying the mould bank and definetely the last. After arriving at 10am we didnt recieve food ,ordered at 10.05, until 10.50 and it was cold and chewy. On the large breakfast the sausages were raw, bacon cold and hash brown soggy as well as a miriad of other issues. We asked to swap poached eggs with hash browns on the smashed avo breakfast only to be charged extra for the browns despite the lack of eggs. It was also poorly made and unpleasant with a load of old salad on the side. The worst part is the 3 tables who came in 20 minutes after we ordered and seated in an area closed when we arrived. They somehow managed to all order and recieve food and drinks before us. Quite frankly weve thought about eating there for a while and wish we still were thinking what it was like. Check your cctv if you disagree with what we had to suffer.

The Old William and Glynn's/RBS. Fantastic pizzas. Friarelli and Fennel Sausage? You'd be hard pushed to find another version as good as this outside of Naples.

Just had the worst takeaway 3 to 4 of us usually sit in once a week with wines and beers and have a takeaway at least once a week, adds up but not again. The regular waitresses know my order of Mediterranean, Pepperoni Bomba’s, Ham and Mushrooms and Friarelli and Sausage. last 2 visits unsatisfactory, sit in and tonight’s takeaway had one slightly burnt Mediterranean and 2 under cooked doughy crusts Pepperoni Bomba’s and the takeaway side order of olives 9 olives? in a paper coffee cup for £4, used to get a bowl full. I showed the waitresses the less than half filled paper cup and she was not interested and one of them pull a face at me. Well, you’ve lost a good monthly income! Steve

We picked pie off the menu they had none at 1.30 on a Saturday so decided on soup and they had none. It also took about 40mins for the sandwiches to come out. I was really looking forward to my first visit but not sure I'd go back. Sorry guys

The old Royal Bank of Scotland .... its much better inside now !! Went for breakfast, Egg Benedict, unbelievable and well presented absolutely brilliant food. Good service, clean tidy and comfy settings. Well recommended !! Looking forward to my next breakfast.

Our Lattes came served in a literal water glass when everyone else had nice mugs and went cold almost instantly because of this. The falafel pitta had absolutely no taste whatsoever never been more disappointed. Think the falafel needs to be taken off the menu as we noticed others who had ordered it also hadn’t eaten it presumably due to the same reasons. Staff seemed pre-occupied with the baby shower next door and the service of other paying customers was damaged.

Firstly, it must be said that the food here is great (pizzas, and also their brunch offerings which we have tried numerous times). However the thing that constantly lets this place down is the service. All staff are polite and clearly trying their best, but the service is always chaotic and slow, with the constant need to chase orders. It seems management is always lacking when we visit. A shame, as the dishes served are always spot on.

Visited today we had to chase our drinks after 30 mins? Really we then ordered a pizza chicken and chorizo well what can I say avoid this one 6 very small pieces of chicken and guess what no chorizo and very little cheese all got...

This is the best coffee and brunch spot in Wigan. They actually make coffee that is close to what I'm used to in Australia. Good work!

Decent coffee, you’ll pay for it, but it is better than anywhere else in the area.

45 min to get 2 drinks (which we went in to chase to get), then it took another 15 min to be told our order hadn't been put through and as it had now gotten busier since we sat down it'd be a while for our food as there was a backlog of orders... Decided to leave as our dog had been chilling for an hour but was getting a little bored… Still had to pay for the drinks on our way out! We're usually very understanding and only leave positive reviews but this was just ridiculous as there were only 3 other tables when we arrived and they had all already been served. To have to pay £3 for a pair of cokes on our way out after they forgot to process our order is rubbish. The money isn't the issue, its the gesture to acknowledge that they made a mistake and had us sat there for an hour. Sad that none of the staff thought "its odd that couple have been sat there for 40 min with nothing and we told them it's less than a 20 min wait for food." We had been excited to try this place out for ages, unfortunately after such a terrible experience we won't be going back.

One star is only for the afternoon Tea This is the old bank at orrell next to the traffic lights and there is only one there I'm aware of. We went last week and for £50 I expected better. Really shocked at the presentation and food quality and selection. Would I buy this again absolutely not. Staff were very good though and the surrounding area was very clean just a shame that no thought or creativity went in to the food.

Visited for first time today. Sat outside as weather was nice though the verandah provides partial shelter just in case. Outside area well laid out. Not the most extensive menu by any means but certainly adequate and the New York Bagel was good value, washed down by a good pint of Estrella. Staff friendly and all Covid measures in place.

Lovely service, nice quite place to enjoy a coffee.
