Had a wonderful meal on their Friday special menu, it was absolutely wonderful, so tasty and good service, the staff are always so friendly and nothing is too much for them, we always feel very welcome and valued as customers

Popped in today to try somewhere new for lunch can honestly say the food was amazing and service was great staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

We held our training conference in their function room upstairs and the team could not have been more helpful. Great venue and location with an accommodating team, helping to make our event a success - thank you.

Stella is absolutely lovely, she gave us a very warm welcome and always makes time to chat to us when we go in, her colleague was very attentive too, we ordered the pie of the day which was steak & ale today, it was absolutely delicious. You can’t go wrong with the old bakehouse, makes for a wonderful experience every time, my 81 yr old mum loves to eat there with us too.

We went for the Christmas meal and the food was amazing. Service was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend and will be going back

I asked if they did an afternoon tea, although they said they’d talk to the chef. I received an email saying they could accommodate my friend and I for £15 each. We arrived very excited and hungry. We ordered our tea and coffee then the food started arriving. First a plate of assorted brown and white bread sandwiches, a plate of highly decorated large chocolate cup cakes (see pictures) a plate with 4 mini Victoria sponges and a couple of scones with Roddas and fresh strawberry jam/sauce and a bowl of whipped cream. Also a bowl of mini brownies on sticks with a caramel dip. These were particularly delicious, they were the most delicious brownies I’ve ever tasted, they had that melt in the mouth texture. I shall be going back for more brownies for definate!

Sunday lunch was amazing! The pie was very good and would thoroughly recommend it! Not sure why there are bad reviews on here as it was really great

Our daughter held her wedding reception here and it was fantastic. Aaron and his staff were so accommodating and welcoming and made the whole process stress free for her. The food was delicious and a huge improvement on our last visit at the beginning of 2023. The homemade pizzas are incredible! Give this place a try - they deserve a visit!

We hired The Old Bakehouse for our wedding celebration party and Aaron and his team absolutely smashed it! I cannot recommend this place as an event venue enough. Aaron worked unbelievably hard to produce exactly what we wanted and his communication was superb throughout the whole process. Thank you to Sam in particular for always offering to help, and to Stella for keeping things running smoothly. Aaron has a great team who work incredibly hard. The food was incredible. A new chef has started in the last few weeks and he is fantastic. Really passionate and makes amazing, fresh, pizza dough from scratch. The food here has always been good, but it’s at a much higher standard now. I’ll be coming here for meals much more regularly now. Thank you to the whole team for working so hard to give us exactly the day we wanted :)

We both love this place, but it's the first time we've had a sunday roast there. We won't be having another one.

Went for my partners birthday and it was Best Sunday roast I’ve had in years, they even made a little birthday cake for the occasion.

My mum and I both got food poisoning. She had scampi and chips and I had sausage and mash. Service was also pretty terrible

I was apprehensive when Bakers became The Old Bakehouse as I’d always been a big fan. I’ve been to The Old Bakehouse on at least five occasions and it turns out I had nothing to worry about. It’s still a beautiful old building full of character with really friendly staff and a huge selection of drinks. The marina views, particularly in summer, never get old. I’ve eaten here three times since the new management took over and I’ve had two good meals and recently, one fantastic meal. The food is getting better everytime. The pizzas are loaded with toppings and are great. I had the vegetable lasagne last time and it was delicious. Huge portion, full of flavour, and really fresh. Still a big fan and will keep coming back :)

Such a unique and historic venue is being so badly let down by dreadful management. Uncleared dirty tables, dirty glasses, unswept floors with litter and cigarette ends. A member of staff's baby was sitting on the bar. Staff totally disinterested with over exposed female bodies(!), facial piercings and apparent lack of training. If they want good quality clientele they will have to up their game. What a let down to this lovely area.

Was a lovely sunny day so we thought we would stop off for a drink whilst out for a walk. All the outside tables had dirty glasses on them. So we actually had to clear some so we could sit down. When my Partner went in to get our drinks he witnessed a girl behind the bar applying lip balm with her finger and then touching customers glasses without washing her hands. After witnessing such unsanitary behaviour we wouldn’t feel happy to ever eat there. Rather disappointed. Such a shame as its situated in a lovely area.

Stella greated us like friends, and her attention to detail remained throughout the lunch. One of our party did not want a dessert but a cheese board, this was no trouble for the Bakehouse, although it is not on the menu. They offer an OAP 2 course for £10, we decided to opt for the standard menu. I and my friend had starters with sides (fishcake and side salad/Whitebait and Chips), our husbands enjoyed Pizzas. We will visit again.

Stopped at the bar for a late night cocktail, what a terrible experience. I noticed the young lady pouring the margarita from a pre-mixed carton, I did question as why they are not made fresh and was told that the cocktails come pre-mixed. She continued to give the pre-mixed margarita a little shake in the cocktail shaker and then poured into a glass and I had to ask for salt around the rim of the glass. Needless to say it tasted awful. I refused to pay it was the worst cocktail experience I have ever experienced. I will not return.

Most awful experience Staff are a bunch of children and don’t have a clue what they are doing. Just hang around by the door talking or just outside smoking. Cigarette butts all over the floor outside. Felt like I was in a rough east London...
