NOW CLOSED TO PUBLIC - NO LONGER A BEEFEATER RESTAURANT. Premier Inn have taken over - converting to more hotel rooms and small eating/drinking area for guests only.

Not a very good time yet again, after getting a complimentary meal from the last negative experience thought to try again but got even worse. Service was better due to Benjamin attentiveness, he was great. As below I enjoyed the fish and 13 chips. (Yes I counted haha😂). Hair in churro dessert which I then had to get replaced. Won’t be going back had enough of this place tbh.

Always go here on the way to wolf run. Buffet breakfast, good price. Enough said

Ordered 2 surf and turf with side of onion rings. Think I now need to visit the dentist... think the calamari and onion rings have been frying since January. Save your money and avoid unless you want to pay lots of money for dental repairs

Stayed at the premier Inn next door and had food here, the food was hot and tasted good, no complaints.

Oh dear. We called in on our way home before our 3hr drive. Noone to meet or greet. We found our own table, got our own menus. Waited for someone to come and serve us which didnt happen. We went to the bar to order and were told to sit and wait for someone to come to us. Burger / chips disappointingly below average, fish and chips just average... all in all I'm glad this place is not local to us

It was absolutely shocking from start to finish! Very poor food, sent some back because it was inedible. Waiter rude. If you want overpriced frozen food heated badly, then this is the place to go

Called in twice without reservation, and we were accommodated, no problem. Good food and service with pleasant staff. Highly recommended.

Lovely restaurant indeed! The food is incredible, even if a little pricey, the staff are kind and the mood in the place feels relaxed. Definitely recommend if you are in the area or staying at the hotel!

I use the Observatory every Saturday morning with friends. I find that the breakfast is great with several choices to choose from. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this place for others to use 👍

Stood 10 minutes to be seated, staff totally ghosted us. Went to harvester instead.

We had lunch at this restaurant. The food was tasty and served fairly quickly after ordering. When we first arrived, there were only a few people in, but more came throughout the time we were there. There appeared to be just one server attending to everyone. She was very efficient but I did think there should have been more staff on duty.

It's my 3rd visit now since discovering last month. Great food and service.

I and friends go for breakfast once a week also on occasions with family, venue great for those with disabilities easy access and egress. Wide range of items for breakfast , produce to a good standard. Service first class. Staff supportive and welcoming, even with requests for certain food . Place is great. Suggest booking as it can be busy on occasions. Would recommend for all ages. They even make all ages special and value the experience. Tried local venues in the area not a patch on this. Parking is good , but remember to log reg number on arrival.

Tried to walk in without booking but was full Danny soon checked the seating arrangements and made space for us as a family to get in. Fabulous service as always.

We went for a family meal the other day. Warm atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service. The manager went the extra mile so we could have a marvelous experience. Would strongly recommend this place. Definitely we be back!

What a dreadful place. I recently came here for an evening meal and breakfast and I have to say it was awful! Evening meal The incompetent, rude and quite frankly strange staff member captured in my photos where a shirt and jeans (dressed like he was going to pub with mates instead of working) I score him a 0 stars. The brunette girls were holding him up. No doubt he was the manager, he couldn’t manage himself. The food was ok. Breakfast Again staff had no customer service skills. The girl with blue hair was rude and unprofessional. Breakfast was the worst. That silly girl with blue hair is very unprofessional. I do not recommend.

Visited on Sunday April 7th for a drink, as with our previous visit a week or so before, staffing the bar area seems to be at the bottom of their priorities, previously we had to visit the restaurant to ask to be served, this time after waiting for minutes, we left

We had lunch here today,greated by friendly staff,served quickly by a lovely waitress,everything looked and tasted perfect,lovely atmospher,lovely experience,we'llreturn.

Been here a few times and had no problems. Went for a Easter roast, served by the manager. We ordered 2 lots of UNLIMITED potatoes, we were served 6 roasties on a plate. We kindly asked for some more as we had eaten them. The manager became very defensive and refused, stating that was all we were entitled to. Whatever, carried on with the meal. She then came back and gave some potatoes which we thanked for. I asked why on the menu it says unlimited as I was confused, she then patronised me and pretended I was being absurd and offensive. I really didn't care at the end of the day but she made it into a huge thing and I felt very uncomfortable and confrontated when I tried to be as polite as I could. The menu is clearly very misleading, don't dare question them!!!

Went for a Sunday lunch, sounded lovely on the menu, what arrived on the plate was very disappointing. Firstly let's just say the staff member who served the table was excellent, the issue was the food, bullet dry peas, soggy carrots, all 5 slices of them, 3 tiny pieces of potatoes amounting to less than 1 third of a baking potatoe, 3 dried small slices of parsnip, 1 cold brittle Yorkshire pudding, and 5 tiny slices of fatty lamb rump which varied in texture and temperature. The red wine gravy was a dry as an AA meeting. Had been a while since we had eaten at this establishment and I was surprised that the carpark was so empty when we arrived, the restaurant also seemed less busy than I remember. Sunday lunches are a competitive market, lots of choice, I shall be choosing elsewhere in future.

Excellent food and service. The staff work hard to make sure you are enjoying yourself. The Duty Manager even stopped clearing tables so he could make us coffee when the bar was supposed to be closed. What a gent!

Rude obnoxious staff avoid. Ran out of everything when we arrived at 10.30am on Sunday for breakfast. Plates, cutlery, no glasses. Dirty plates and dirty tables everywhere. Got shouted at by extremely rude waitress for getting a spoon out of the supposedly "staff only" area even though there were no signs stating this. If they had replenished the spoons I wouldn't have to get my own! Waitresses were arguing with each other in front of me too. Extremely unprofessional. Would never go back. AVOID.

We had dinner and drinks here and breakfast as we were staying at the Premier Inn next door. Food was excellent both dinner and breakfast, piping hot and tasty which seems to be rarity these days in most pub restaurants. The service was exceptional. Ben the bartender was tentative and very good with drink recommendations. We will be visiting again.

50/50 on food depends on the items you pick. Steak and gammon are really good, but the classic chicken burger was a let down. Good pint selection.

Standard Beefeater based on a couple of visits. Not spectacular but not bad either. Menu as you expect. Service ok but not spectacular. Worth a visit.

Beautiful food and great service

Great tasting food with plenty of choice from what you'd expect at a steak and grill restaurant. Service was a little stretched when we were there, but additional staff seemed to start shift as we were leaving around 7 PM.

Went to the observatory for a breakfast. The service was first class. The coffee machine had stopped working due to the milk being empty, before I could call for some one to fix it the front of house guy had noticed and was there with the milk ready to refill the machine. The food Is good quality and first class and plenty of it. Friendly professional staff with plenty of parking. They also remind you to put your car reg number in the machine so you don't get a fine.

Busy place, haven't been for since 2019 and although not much had changed inside the food was good, service was good too. Obviously the steak just tasted right, despite this the first visit in years I'm sure we're going to be back sooner..

*So update after tonights service, this is our local eatery and we normally sing their praises, Until tonight, forgot one of our meals so we waited, they put the rest of the food under the heat lamp which dried the food out and warmed the coleslaw - till they were all ready and then the server had an attitude about it, not impressed other than that normally Fantastic place to eat, quality food at reasonable prices! But for me its usually the staff, nothing is too much trouble and they a super freindly.

Booked here for a birthday meal and it was awful. Ordered drinks, ate starters and main courses were delivered before our drinks arrived. Had to chase drinks twice. Eventually 1hr 20 mins later drinks came. I had the chicken melt which was like a childs portion, chips were cold and they forgot the salad which I had to chase. Other people's chips were cold and the 2 steaks ordered were cooked wrong. Food & Service was awful, I expected better on a Fri night. Didnt send food back as didnt want to wait a long time again. Clearly not enough staff either. We were given the drinks on the house but I won't be going back here.

Very quiet at 4pm., food fine, service a bit slow, guessing staff didn't start shift till 5.

Please don't waste your money going here. Drinks took 1 hour 20 mins to arrive. Food was cold and poorly presented, steak and ale pie burnt, wilting salad. We were compensated for the drinks and the staff are doing their best but it's a total shambles. Food significantly overpriced for the quality.

Great service by Danny today. He has made that place great again. Perfect customer service, friendly and personable. I would definitely recommend this place. Thank you.

Service was brill just a little slow with the drinks , food was nice had to send my medium rare steak back to be cooked as i asked for well done but wasn't really a problem didn't have to wait long for it to come back will definitely go there again

Very good food. Plenty to choose from. Fresh food brought out regularly. Towards end of service there was no eggs mike the chef reopened the kitchen to make myself and my friend fresh eggs.

Absolutely shocking service lost track of the times was told no food, then went to the restaurant was told no table for over 3 hours when the place was nearly empty, complained to the Premier Inn staff were I was staying and of course they were exceptional as usual and as if by magic there was a table straight away 🤔 I ve had dealings with 2 ladies at this establishment and both have not been very professional or helpful and the local customers told me it's the norm with the ladies in question, which is a shame as next door at the Premier Inn it's totally opposite can't do enough for you and make your experience a good one thing is the 2 come hand in hand and as much as I like the staff at the Premier inn I'll be telling my company to look elsewhere for accommodation and food, wake up whitbread breweys your pubs are killing your whole package experience

Boxing Day meal - best roast taties I’ve had in years!

We dine here quite often so decided to have Xmas dinner here on Xmas day, really disappointed, came in to a great atmosphere downstairs and got put upstairs where there was no atmosphere whatsoever, starter was poor, veg on the main was undercooked and got served the wrong dessert. All I kept looking at was dirty pots piling up in front of us on a table near to the stairs! Such a shame really because we’ve never had a complaint about this place

Very noisy and very drunk customers, music too loud, tasteless and flavourless food, poor quality, expensive for cantine food but great service.

Terrible experience. Very efficient waitress but brought wrong starter she wrote nothing down but she soon remedid It.main came That was fine Then it went down hill our waitress went and New one came was talking near the till to a young man for over 20 mins we had the Xmas fayre there was about 10 people in I stood and waved she put her hand up but carried on talking so I went over after 8 mins and said we wanted our desserts and drinks we've waited almost 30 mins she said previ+ous Waitress had said everyone was eating I said not 4 half an hour so ordered cheese and biscuits and drinks After 15 mins I went to her and cancelled them and paid.no apologise bad experience last week went to forest park table to table Wonderful meal and service Shall stick with them in fortune.

The lad serving behind the bar gave excellent customer service when we came for our work do, the lady with glasses (browny/blonde hair and a ponytail) who was also in the bar area swore at him because there wasn't enough cutlery. There's no job worth being sworn at by a colleague. I was across from the bar waiting for a lift, he was doing a good job and being polite with every customer where as this person he was working with is a different story (Fri 8th December 2023)
