Visited on a Thursday evening which at present is their steak night. We didn't have steak but wished we had after seeing the sharing chateaubriand. We had our choices from the main menu. The beef bourguignon was absolutely superb as were the other dishes from the menu. The staff are always very welcoming and pleased to see you.

This is a review for the accommodation. Positives: Friendly service, excellent breakfast Negatives : Room was very tired in need of refurbishment. Dirty carpet, cheap furniture etc. Lots of dust not properly cleaned Conclusion: although the pub is nice for food or a drink I won’t be staying overnight again. At £130 a night I expected a much better quality room

We booked in for an evening meal with two other couples and two dogs and received a very warm welcome from the friendly staff. This is a dog friendly pub/restaurant serving excellent food and a good selection of ales. A nice cosy feel to the place on a chilly and wet evening in October. Even though the place was quite busy, the staff coped very well and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. My only negative point was the somewhat inadequate car park. It is in desperate need of some attention. There were potholes full of water everywhere, no lighting and unmarked parking spots. This was further compounded by what would appear to be a free for all approach to parking and poor parking by inconsiderate customers made it difficult to find a space to park. In saying all that, I would definitely recommend the Old Oak for a meal, or even a casual drink.

What a wonderful welcome we had at this pub. 6 of us met for lunch and all had the most amazing meals. Service was excellent, staff incredibly friendly and the portions generous, tasty and really good value. We’ll be coming back.

Today six of us had lunch at The Oak. This is a good place for lunch offering food to suit all tastes. Excellent starters, nicely presented mains with proper sized portions and a range of ice creams from the sweet menu that really taste of ice cream. There are plenty of staff: they work as a team and they really know what they’re doing. Not just that but you can actually see your meal being cooked. We total more than 500 years between the six of us and The Oak couldn’t have been more amenable, helpful and attentive - all with a sense of fun. Thank You!

Very rare my wife and myself get to go out together, but when we do we always come here, always a friendly welcome, good food and warm atmosphere. I was also impressed by the young man who took our food order, my wife requested fries not chips with her steak and I had a good view of the kitchen I noticed he picked up our food, hesitated, then turned back and said steak with fries not chips! Just that little attention to detail makes all the difference. Google only allows 5 stars but I'm giving the oak 10+.

Didn't stay here, my partner and I met another couple here for a meal and catch up. Country location, parking, helpful, friendly staff, lovely food! We sat in a side room and as 2 of our party are quite deaf, this was great! Less noisy. They had several gluten free options for me, I had GF fish n chips! The batter was beautifully light and crisp! Would recommend for great food.

Posting this review on behalf of our family friends, the Unterhalters: We stayed here for the night as we were going to a friend's garden party. We were greeted in such a friendly way and very kindly allowed to go into our room early. The room was lovely and spacious and the bed beautifully comfortable. We could not have wished for a better experience in a five star hotel! Lovely breakfast too! Thank you so much.

This a review for the pub, we didn’t stay in the rooms. We went for Sunday lunch (book in advance!), service was excellent with caring staff. You could tell they genuinely wanted us to have a good time but not in an overbearing way. It’s the best service I’ve had in a British restaurant in a long time! The pub itself is lovely, a typical country side pub with nice decor and lots of cosy rooms inside. Food was copious and excellent with your classic choices of Sunday lunch, however 7 different vegetables on the plate is not something you see very often! Wide choice of drinks but a couple of local real ales only, in great condition though (Ledbury Gold - excellent, and the usual Butty Bach). I know how hard it is for pubs to turn over cask ales so can’t blame them for going with the big guys that sell. I will definitely come back!

Came for the roast and it was fantastic. Sleeper hit is the roast veg which was some of the best veg served with a roast I’ve ever had out. Prices for the 3 course were good as well at about £30. The roast looked so good as portions were great that I forgot to take a pic before I started eating so that’s the result you get. Apple and rhubarb crumble was great and the custard was fantastic.

Stopped here when out on the bike. Situated on a quiet road between Ledbury and Bromyard. Staff friendly and welcoming and lovely atmosphere. Really nice and clean inside. Plenty of parking. Plenty of seating inside and outside with nice sized beer garden. You can stay in van/ Motorhome or camper but all they ask is you use pub. The food is cooked fresh and go hungry as portions are a plenty. The food is really good and nice and hot. I personally couldn't find fault we already talked about going back. Definitely recommend and go again..

What an amazing country pub/restaurant. We just had a two night stay here and must leave this review for the staff and owners Chris and Heather. We were treated like friends and family, and the staff were all so friendly too. Our room was lovely and had everything you would need. We had room number two and nice view out over the country side. The food, well that was on another level. We have never had food served so hot we could not touch the plates, the quality and way it was served was 5 star. We went through a few different items off the menu and all were top quality produce and cooked perfect. Breakfast was the same. Chris set us up a lovely table for the England semi and we ate their. I have worked in the pub/restaurant trade over many years, and to see and experience this hospitality now a days is just amazing. Anothing thing we did notice, apart from the place being so busy even on a Tuesday and Wednesday night, was how Chris the owner was looking after all his locals who had came in to watch the game and made sure the loyalty was repaid by booking them in for the final on Sunday. That means alot now adays. We will be returning very soon. A big thank you again Chris and Heather for making our stay so enjoyable. Doug and Jenny, Birmingham👍

Went for Sunday lunch table of 8, meat not edible really fatty, some veg hardly cooked. And roast luke warm and that’s being kind. Shame we’ve eaten there lots of times, staff were lovely as usual, apparently the normal chef was away on holiday so we will try again. Just disappointing for the wife’s birthday.

Fabulous I can see why they won award, I have to say they are all the friendliest and most welcoming people we have met, and the food doesn't let it down varied menu and very good value, I don't normally have pie when eating out but glad I did , well presented with a puff pastry top, mash was lovely and the fish and chips are good the batter perfect not to thick, I would maybe say a pea crush or something like it would make it better and maybe consider a small curry sauce ( a local pub near us does little pots of homemade curry and tartar sauce, just an idea to make it a little different), but all very good, thank you.

Beer not good. How often do you have a real ale and think that it isn't right, but not sure so you put up with it? Meal with friends no better than ok. Bœuf bourguignon disappointing. The mix of mash potatoes and horseradish was weird and for me distasteful. My wife had a soggy pastry pie. Quite expensive food but mediocre.

Rang up to see if they’d have a table as our Air BNb lost power all day and food was spoiled. They said they’d have a table for us all night. Turned up at eight and they knew straight away who we were without asking and took us somewhere out the way with our husky. Extremely friendly, food service was fast and the food itself was incredible. Really homely enviornment , stopping to make conversation, and genuinely interested. Really cared and made a wonderful effort to us. Best restaurant / pub food I have ever had! Even the dog had ice cream and I’ve never seen him so happy and calm. Very reasonably priced cannot fault them on anything. Will definitely come back if ever in the area. I also do mystery shopping and they would have got the best result possible. Thank you to you all for ending our little trip away for my birthday on a high after a disaster at our accommodation

One of the better Premier Inns we've been to. Close to several local bars and restaurants, which are just 5 minutes walk away. Close to town centre, literally 5-6 minutes casual walk into the town centre. 10 minutes walk to the Cathedral and 15 minutes to the river. Decent onsite bar and restaurant. Downsides, we couldn't open the windows in our room, although the air conditioning was fairly good. Upgrading to Premier Plus rooms is not worth the extra. Onsite parking is a little hit and miss because there are not always parking spaces available. For two people sharing a room we were given 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel. Spare pillows had no pillow cases on them. So we had to go back down to reception as soon as we arrived. The free Wi-fi is slow and pretty poor.
