Great service great atmosphere, I love it here

Yeah it's ok .beer but a bit pricey sometimes staff too busy talking rather than serving

Came here with work last Friday. Got to say Green king has never been great. But we had the chicken choice mix. I had southern dried chicken on a squirer chips and mac and cheese. Chips were barley cooked soggy and white. Mac and cheese was tasteless and horrible. Worst meal so far. Won't be going again

After having a terrible experience at The Poachers Pocket, we were dubious to try another Greene King but decided to try The Oak. What a breath of fresh air, the staff are so lovely and very, very attentive. The food was fabulous and well worth the money. They have great offers on as well. There was also a great atmosphere, this is our new place to meet. They are a credit to the Greene King chain. 5🌟 👏

Very helpful staff but decor is in need of refurbishment

Great example of a Greene king pub and eatery that tickets the boxes with something for everyone. Whether looking for a relaxing lunch time break, quiet space to unwind, saturday night with the girls or sunday escape where the kids can play outside and save on the washing up whilst still catering to the sports lovers with the big screens always displaying 2 different sky sports options, beautiful well maintained garden , the oak really does give that home from home feel with something for all the family to enjoy. Pleasant an appeal with a good balance of quieter corners or the livelier bunch with balance observed and managed exceptionally by staff. Staff are always welcoming and truly to give service with a smile with delicious excellent value for money good food. Can not fault the place and would highly recommend a visit ! 👌

Perfect for what we needed and family friendly

My Daughter and I had Steak and ale Pie Chip Peas and gravy. The food was lovely and we ate it out in the big garden area that had a childs play area in it. The staff were very helpful and professional.

Friendly, helpful staff and good service. Nice relaxed atmosphere. However, some of the food was a bit disappointing, and a few gluten-free options weren't available.

I went there yesterday with a group of friends ( about 20 actually). The food was really good, well presented and definitely good value. The waitress was excellent, despite the place being really busy. Will certainly return.

Very friendly staff. Seems more of a restaurant than a pub. When I was younger it was a place I used to go for a drink. Not so much now more family friendly. Food was fine, very reasonable priced, would go again. Outside play area could do with some work.

I ordered schweppes orange, the cup is dirty and broken is not good to serve drink with cups like this u have to change the cups if broken please ,the chairs is old and dirty Bad experience

Just finished a cheeky Sunday meal here. Drinks were fairly priced. The food was keenly priced, unpretentious, arrived quickly with generous portions and tasted great. Everything was good; thoroughly recommended.

Good service and nice food. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is due to the state of the gents toilets (can't comment on the ladies).

This is a pleasant Greene King pub in Walderslade village. Some excellent deals on both food and drink. Good for watching sports with a number of big screen TV's. There's plenty of seating with some more cosy areas as well as tables. If you have kids, there's a large garden with two slides and other playground items. Plenty of tables too. It's nice and warm and everything is clean too including the toilets. There's plenty of free parking. Check out their seniors menu, available Monday to Friday 12 until 5 Two courses for £5.49 and add a third for an extra £1! The atmosphere was friendly when I visited in the afternoon, the staff were pleasant and chatted with me and checked if my food was ok

Lovely pub with children's play area in garden, good pub grub at reasonable prices with deals everyday...can sometimes feel a little rowdy so we tend to avoid weekends but this is because we visit as a family

We had a very nice Xmas meal here. There was lots of food on the plate and the price was very good. Thank you and Merry Christmas to all the staff that are working hard to keep their customers happy

The Oak is a place where everyone is welcome. My drink is fresh orange juice and soda. My service was quick and when I was too down they still gave excellent customer service. Christmas is dormant is my village. The Oak is the beacon of hope we all need with the lights in the window. The sports are on all the time for the sports lovers out there. Plus the place is warm so if you need some comfort this is the place. The food I have not tried as such. Create own burger will be an adventure for an other time. I have tried the chocolate cake and ice cream. It was yummy. I was walking on the laptop at the time show I could not enjoy it as much as I would like. They have free WiFi and going there is cheaper than a hot chocolate. They have got plugs. There is a beer garden out the back where there is a lot of picnic tables to enjoy the sun .

The Oak is absolutely superb for a great meal, very friendly staff and I cannot fault any aspects of the place. I have eaten there on many occasions and today I went with my family for the Xmas meal which was as good as it gets. The Oak consistently provides first class food and service. The portions were incredible, lovely and hot and very tasty. I can't recommend The Oak highly enough. Well done to Jackie, Mark and all the staff. Paul

Visited lunchtime on 4th Nov23. Superb stop off on our way to Whitstable from Surrey. We found it courtesy of a Google search on-route and it was well worth the minor detour. The staff were brilliant, so friendly, both at the bar and serving; our meals were served quickly, were very tasty, very reasonably priced and with generous portions. 5 🌟. Well done all at The Oak

Only popped in for a couple of drinks with my son, staff were welcoming and polite, sat in large garden, pleasant afternoon.

Was with our two year old grandaughter who was very well behaved yet senior customers felt the need to tut, stare and comment on rights and wrongs of children being at a family pub enjoying a lunch with her mother and grandparents.

Felt uncomfortable. I wouldn’t say it’s a family friendly place to eat. Went there food but no one was eating, just loud men everywhere shouting. Went to poachers up the road instead.

So friendly ...staff always so welcoming..we make it a regular now ! Fish& Chips Mon & Wed-Sun is great !

Great place to eat, very friendly

The Sunday roast was the worst we have ever has. The mashed potatoes were like putty and the roast potatoes were not cooked. The Vegetables were overcooked. Others in our party had various meals which were nice and large portions. Would eat there again but not have the Sunday roast.

Had great food and a lovely atmosphere in the garden

Myself and my daughter made a last minute decision and went in for lunch. We sat in the garden and ordered from the bar. The lady who served us was very nice and very helpful. We decided to order my husband a burger to go (we felt guilty we had left him at home fitting bathroom panels in 28° heat) i ordered at the bar and a man brought it out to us in a sealed bag with Enjoy and a smiley face drawn on it. When we got home my husband was very grateful for the food but even more grateful for the gift of a cold bottle of Sol. What a nice thing to do - thank you very much 😊 also the burgers were amazing!

Fabulous friendly service and THE BEST nachos I've ever eaten. Comfy chairs, good prices, quick service and food delivery, clean loos, parking and a play area! Only downside was the loud and rowdy side of the bar when we had a little one with us.

Hadnt been there for ages following incredibly poor service and food. But heard that it was now under new management so went back to see if things had improved. Have to say, it had, very good service, attentive staff, and for us "seniors " excellent value..

Been here a few times now and typically get good service with decent standard of food. Landlord was awesome today and made our sons day. Thanks to all at the Oak for a great lunch.

Pub was buzzing. Peroni on draught. Happy days. Unfortunately for the second consecutive week there was fighting in this pub, the food was good but the risk of getting embroiled in some petty silly boys argument is not worth the risk. Will not be going here again.

Another no-nonsense Greene King offering the reassuringly nostalgic diorama of a turn of the century council estate boozer. Frequented by a chipper if not a little tempestuous selection of the Medway town’s finest. the beers are reasonably priced and there is solid line up of good value pub classic foods. Looking for a mirror in the gents bathroom to adjust your slicked back Friday night barnet? Think again good sir. No doubt knocked off in a fit of Artois fuelled angst. I’m sure this place has seen some decent tear ups over the years.

For a Sunday night, it was reasonably busy. We arrived at the same time as a few other parties. Professional and friendly staff were really attentive and all parties were served quite quickly. The food came out in good time, hot and tasty. Very well priced and good atmosphere.

Big group of us today for a works do, and we all had a great time. Food was good we had starters,mains and pudding all was really nice, came out all together which for a big group was good, didn't have to wait long, even better. The staff were great, was there straight away on drinks and checking our food was ok and clearing plates. Would definitely eat here again.

On Monday the local community litter group once again met here for lunch. It was a large group booking of 26, the staff were very accommodating & the food was excellent. They kindly gave us an area to the side of the bar so that we could all be together. Food was lovely, very reasonably priced, good service, perfect location and everyone had a lovely time.
