Ordered steaks for me and the misses cooked absolutely to perfection by jack.also the service was brilliant and great value for money would highly recommend and will come again.😁

We had a private wake here at the Norland and everything we wanted was provided. This pub is great it has a good atmosphere, friendly staff and nice and roomy. The food is always really nice and very good value.

I visit The Norland quite a lot to meet up with friends and family, it’s always my go-to place to meet up for food or just a drink. There’s a great cozy atmosphere inside and a well sized beer garden outside with lots of benches to enjoy a drink or food if the weather’s nice enough. We quite often sit in the separate bar area to watch sports, there’s an outdoor TV too which is a nice touch in the warmer seasons. Staff always go above and beyond, food is always fantastic and is well priced too. There’s a reason I keep coming back! Lots of parking too if you’re driving. I really can’t recommend this place enough!

I just want to thank all the amazing staff at The Norland, we had our wedding reception here. After looking at other places we knew we wanted it here as we frequently have food and drinks here. The landlord and landlady was absolutely amazing the room when we arrived after we married was amazingly set out we couldn't of asked for anything better. The buffet food was amazing and there was plenty for all guests. The guest even commented on how lovely the venue and staff where. We would recommend this venue for private booking to anyone.

Went for our tea in the Norland Hessle ordered surf and turf food was excellent beer excellent our first visit definitely be back only problem lighting was to dark couldn't read menu even with my reading glasses on so wife read menu to me,only a minor matter staff excellent all in all 10/10 well worth a visit 😁👍🏻thankyou

Pleasant place for a family get together meal

food was wonderful service was brilliant couldn’t ask for anything more!!!!

We went as a group of 8 for my 50th birthday. We all ordered food and drink . The table was sticky from previous guests . We ordered 3 gammon steaks that were burnt and dry an 8oz rump which my husband loved and a tikka curry with extra samosas that was enjoyed. We wasn't asked at any point if we enjoyed our food and the plates were just built up on the table after we had finished. Wine glasses were dirty from the water marks so my husband had to take them back to get cleaned. Enjoyed my night with my family but feel the food was a bit of a let down

A group of 4 of us went for a meal and drinks !!I reserved a table and we were quick ly shown our table !!our meals were delicious!the staff were friendly and accommodating we l definitely be back

Have been here many times in the past 8 years and no problem until now. Food was lovely and the female staff were absolutely brilliant so left a generous tip for them.Had some problems with the male staff who made my son feel embarrassed and especially one who decided it would be ok to try and belittle me even though I was not being argumentative towards him and had spent £150 that day.Owner came over and was very apologetic and was sympathetic so was grateful and thankful for her. Overall maybe best for a quick bite but not if your wanting to spend a long time in here.

My steak was cooked perfectly as ordered, but I couldn't get my eldest son to stop talking about how delicious his beef burger was while eating. Staff was friendly as always, lovely bunch working there honestly. Much improved from last visit when a female chef had been in: food took long and wasn't cooked to order. Wanted to make note of the chef this go around doing things right and very well. If you've had a bad time in the past and haven't been recently, I would definitely recommend giving them another go. Beyond impressed and happy we did.

I’m not from around the Hull area however I have visited before in July and it was spectacular, food was amazingly cooked and customer service was outstanding. Seeing the humour between the lady chef and one of the supervisors showed a great and kind friendship amongst the workplace. Therefore from my past experience with this pub I chose to visit again a few days ago with some family who live here. I’ve never written a review before however this one needs to be shown, first off the food that was taken to me was by a lady named Ellie I presume and she was wonderful, however one of the managers who wasn’t working which I think was the landlord my daughter-in-law informed me. She was not showing the best respect to the wonderful lady bringing my dish out, regards to the dish it was cold and I was missing a few items off my plate. Drinks were done amazingly by a woman named Stella If I remember correctly even though she had a queue. I’d wish to go somewhere else with my family next time, mainly due to the behaviour from a landlord that I witnessed and due to the food being the way it was. This pub was my favourite place to spend time with my family when I come over and visit, however I do not want my grandchildren around and seeing behaviour like that and thinking it is acceptable. I’m sorry to leave this review but I felt like it needed addressing.

I and my family have always had a lovely meal at The Norland. No complaints

First and last time. Not prepared to spend almost a fiver on a pint,to be near a child. Asked to sit in other room,to be told it's Tuesday club . NO ONE IN. I HATE KIDS. I AM over 55. The other room was empty,check camera. When I was a kid,we weren't allowed in. Shame we can't go back,and be chav free. After my last visit, 15 month ago, I popped in for a qk one. Completely ignored by staff at bar, eventually got served, to be met by dogs off lead. Beware, I have a malinois. SHE BITES. ILL BRING HER IN. Then when phone them as asked, rude obnoxious woman on phone."MARKS WIFE". YOU ARROGANT COW.

Food was decent for the price and the staff were super friendly. Pleasant atmosphere with good parking.

Had a family get together for my partner’s 60th birthday in one of the rooms. Landlord and landlady were so helpful and friendly. The service on the day was great. Wouldn’t hesitate to book there again. Food was lovely. Thanks to everyone who worked hard to make it such a good afternoon/evening 😊

We have been several times recently and the food is amazing. The steak was particularly good on this visit. The prices are reasonable. There is a good atmosphere and most of the staff are very friendly.

We went out as a group of family & friends. We were told at the time of booking that there would be a wait for food, it was a lengthier wait than we were expecting but oh my gosh, the food. The food was absolutely amazing. Mine was delicious & the kids all cleared their plates. Definitely recommend.

Pub was very busy, inside and out. The team were working quickly and were being courteous throughout. The food did take a little longer than we'd hoped, but a large table had ordered just before us and the team made us aware there may be a delay, so we were fine with that. Lovely evening meal , both of us had the tandoori chicken sizzlers and it was very good , nice pint of Stella Artois and excellent bar staff , we will be back soon .

Nice pub, more locals than anything from this area of Hessle. Never changes, if I'm honest I always end up waiting, no one at the bar, staff always at the restaurant end, people through in the other bar tapping coins and shouting to get served. Not all the time but enough for me to avoid it because of this even when I live 2 mins away.

Visited as a family with my son, husband and granddaughter, we had Lovely food which is good value for money too….. would recommend a visit 👍

Not so brilliant, lots of tables reserved when virtually empty. Fries were really greasy, and the main didn't match the description.

Popped in at lunchtime, menu looked varied and good value. Had two sizzler menus and two drinks. The food was good, but the onions and peppers were very greasy and the fries were also very greasy. Would possibly come again if in the area. The young man who served us was very pleasant and efficient.

A young family, relaxed dining venue. Bar staff were friendly but service was slow at the bar and for food. Menu is above grade of your usual chain pub with some tasty options. Great meals, everyone full and happy.

Food OK peas where hard waited 1-half hours, not Great

Only 2 stars this place is dead, I am out of town and decided to stop here with I hadn’t bothered, had the chicken sizzler and the chicken was hard,small and overcooked will not be returning

Ordered nachos when they came chicken was cold on top and no jalapenos so had to ask for them separately. Had to prompt an update from staff to find out why food was taking long.

Went for evening meal with two grandchildren. Once ordered it took 45 mins to arrive. One meal came then 6mins before next meal arrived same for all four meals. None of them were particularly good but the burger was so overcooked granddaughter couldn't cut through it also the gammon was very overcooked. Apparently the chef was a trainee and we got money back for the two bad meals. We perhaps won't go back until chef has improved. I have eaten there before and enjoyed it so perhaps a one off last night.

We stopped here for lunch. It was a lovely atmosphere, clean toilets and fantastic service. One of our steaks was a bit too fatty/ chewy to eat and we were offered a replacement or a pudding. We accepted a pudding for our daughter and a pudding was brought out for her sister as well. 🙂 Thank you

The food was cooked spot on, everything came at an amazing time considering it was a little busy, could 100% be visiting again

We arrived at the Norland at about 19.35. Told kitchen closing at 20.00. So ordered 1 fish & chips and 1 gammon. It wasn’t busy but still waited 30 minutes before the meal arrived at the table Fish & chips was perfect, the gammon & egg was a different matter. Gammon reasonably cooked but the egg should never have been put on the plate, definitely should not have left the kitchen except in the waste bin as I informed a member of staff. Was offered a free drink, which I refused. I don’t complain just to get something for nothing. All we wanted was a well presented meal which this was not. Will not be returning for quite a while.

Really burnt food my lasagna was all burnt to the sides of my dish and I showed staff and they said they couldn't do anything about it as I'd already took a mouthful disgusting and they made me feel uncomfortable the staff was very unhelpful

Had a meal at the Norland with seven other friends prior to a mini trip to Amsterdam from Hull. The staff were really friendly and the food was delicious. We had the special offer of two meals for £11 so would recommend. Including drinks, each couple paid just £21.25.

The food is delicious, expertly prepared and the staff Always go above and beyond to make the dining experience excellent. I visited with my mum for a mother's day lunch. Mum wanted the sizzling vegetables instead of the onions and mushrooms with her steak. The staff mener was more than happy to arrange that. The meal was really fantastic and great value.

What a difference from two weeks ago, waited an hour for the food to arrive, and when it did one of steaks was sent well done but was ordered as medium rare. The only thing that saved you from a one star review was Stella, she kept us informed all the time, apologised for the length of the wait, brought extra drinks to compensate for the wait. Having been in hospitality we would never have gone to the wall if we had Stella. Please appreciate what a gem you have there

Maria and her staff go above and beyond to make sure that the lady I work for (I'm a support worker!) Feels included, talking to her or tweaking the menu to suit her needs. The warmth that comes from the whole staff is what makes us want to return again and again! Well done Maria and her team!

The service was good and the food even better. I had nacho hunters chicken starter with Chinese style pork belly for main and neither disappointed. The waitress checked a couple of times to see if everything was ok and if we needed anything else. A friendly pub with good food. What more could one want?

We recently visited the Norland for an evening meal and the staff were extremely pleasant and efficient. We ordered starter, main and sweet courses and all were excellent. The sizzlers on the main course are very tasty. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is nice and friendly. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Norland and look forward to returning.

50 mins wait for food order for 4 of us🤦🏻‍♂️, all our food was like dry cardboard 😬, with less moisture than a breeze block🥴, cheap, not cheerful, at least my jaw had a workout, we didn't complain as took too long, maybe we were unlucky, looks like a problem in the kitchen as others waited too and the disappointing look on other diners faces said it all🙇🏻‍♂️. Will not be going back soon, I value my teeth too much. Staff were friendly so that's a positive 😁

Lovely attentive staff member served us called Stella. She made us feel feel right at home. She was very attentive, personable and polite. She came over to check if our food was ok and even checked our specific diety requirments with the chef before we ordered and didn't make us feel like we was being picky like other establishments do. Will definitely be coming back and recommending people off her service alone! The food was also great and reasonably priced. Plenty of parking and conviniently located.

Nice interior, good staff, but dont fo if you drink bitter or any kind of ale. John Smiths extra cold on keg is the only choice. There is Guiness, or a selection of the usual lagers and ciders. Shame really, its a decent pub, I was just disappointed.
