Lively pub ,nice staff, great sports bar, good food, but if you are a real ale lover, don’t bother, terrible. However if you like larger,Guinness, cider not a problem. A city pub in a village. Been going in for over 30 years, this is the worst that the bitter has been.

Sadly disappointing!! Upon out arrival ordered 2 starters & 2 main courses. When the starters arrived, so did one of the main courses which was a pizza. We advised the waitress that we had obviously yet to eat our starters & she took the pizza away. The main courses consisting of 2 pizzas then arrived but it was obvious ond had just been kept warm, as it was tepid, dry & the base was rock hard. The other however had clearly come straight from the oven.

We have been regulars at the bear inn for many years and always enjoyed spending time with friends there. Over the past 6 months there has been many changes and renovations for the better! The new revamped back room provides an excellent open plan sports bar overlooking a lovely clean and tidy beer garden. The most recent, and might I say FABULOUS, addition is the food…WOW WOW WOW! Excellent good quality food, variety for all, steering away from standard ‘pub grub’ at reasonable prices…cannot wait to eat here again! Well done team ‘bear inn’ what an amazing venue with fabulous staff, great food, live entertainment and sport…you’ve got it all, good job well done ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Under new management again! Undergoing refurbishment. Casque ales are suffering, in that only one or two are on at any one time and, honestly, I've tasted better. Maybe the cellar is in a bit of disarray at the mo. More effort at keeping the bar counter clean and dry and not sticky would help the experience. I used to be a regular but prefer to go to the Fox and Coney across the road now.

The Bear inn is a great traditional village pub. There is a lovely long front bar, and a back room with darts and a pool table, there's a couple of large TVs for watching Sport. The pub has an excellent wide range of beers, lager and cider, including three cask conditioned real ales on when I called in. The cask ale was very good. The staff are friendly and there is a nice big car park behind the pub. Dog friendly. Highly recommended.

Yet again another evening of been pestered by dogs left to roam freely around the pub slavering on people's clothing, getting under your table around your legs and clothing it really is to much left to roam free is one bad thing but spoiling people's clothing too this is out of order and absolutly disgusting soon as you open a packet of crisps the dog is there slavering and pestering making it a very unpleasant and annoying place to drink and you can't enjoy your selfs it never gets any better in this pub the worst is you complain and nothing gets done about it if you like your clothing and don't want to be pestered by dogs and slavered on your nice clothing then this pub should be avoided

When we walked in we spoke to other walkers regarding the bus back to Hull and was approached by a member of staff saying he was on his way into Hull and would gladly give us a lift as opposed to the need to wait for a bus, we were dropped off at the top of our street. Huge changes are afoot with The Bear Inn, I was often in both the pubs in the village but the latest landlord has taken on-board the comments of the regular and visitors and things are on track for a return to the community pub. Ales and lager are perfect, glasses clean and lines pristine. Stefan and Julie are passionate about the products and always have an ear for what people want to see. The pub has been largely revamped since the place was taken over but maintains a country pub feel. The original (quite frankly awful) toilets are gone and replaced with all things bright and shiny, the bar areas are comfortable and the open fire is perfect for a pint and pie or (shock horror) a game of dominoes. Talking of food, there is a push to start traditional pub grub, curry, chili con carne and stews for the winter months. There is a growing list of events coming up and kids are welcome to come along (Halloween should be great since don’t we all love to dress up without getting arrested). All in all, it’s everything a country pub should be and I wish them good fortune and keep up the good work. BTW, they are reinstating there Cask Mark and CAMRA status which will be there soon but in the meantime try the Doom Bar beer, its wonderful.

There is not enough staff to take your order and serve the meals. They do not have specific allergy menus, lame excuse why they didn’t have one. The crust on the steak pie was that hard you could not get your knife through it. I can’t believe that the ladies toilets had 3 soap dispensers and not 1 was working, certainly not acceptable, the least they could do is put bottles of liquid soap on the sinks.
