The No.9 Bar and Restaurant in Liverpool

The so called manager Richard is so obnoxious he shouted at me I wouskbr go here if it was the last place open!!

They had staff issues and the service was a bit slow but the Food was to die for. Worth every second of waiting.

My grandson gifted afternoon tea for me and 3 friends as a birthday gift. We were given a cup of tea each from a waiter, I asked him if we where going to get a pot of tea , he returned with a vacuum jug and placed it on the table. When we returned home my grandson asked how it was ,he told me he had paid for press Ecco as well which we weren’t offered. I rang hotel following day after being passed too and from 3 people I was told sorry, I Said that’s not good enough you didn’t give me what was paid for . He said he would get general manager to ring me . That was a week ago and no call recieve. I advise no one to use this establishment they haven’t got a clue.

Visited for afternoon tea, it was ok. Sandwiches were a bit bland and absolutely freezing, obviously they had been kept in the fridge and not made fresh. The scones and cakes were delicious though . Nice setting and atmosphere. Staff were helpful and polite.

Went to a birthday party here in Dec, food was utter rubbish don’t what it cost but was worth the money, This hotel is an absolute rip off the bar charges are horrendous £27 for 4 bottles of lager £1.00 each in asda, no lager on tap at the time , £9 for b and c ripping punters off left right and centre.

We came here for afternoon tea- it was inedible. Like really awful. All the tables were dirty, the cutlery was filthy. We moved, and the table was scratched cracked and again filthy. Service was awful- I had to go looking for a waiter. Overall this was a huge disappointment l. Please don’t waste your time or money.

Stained and muddy carpet at the entrance on arrival. Not greeted well at reception just told go to the bar. Food area was being cleaned with disinfectant at 12 noon with slip trip hazard signs everywhere. Seated close to steet window as the lighting inside was very dim. Served with the tea and coffee only to have a cleaner hoovering around our table as we tried to talk. No choice of sandwich just mostly egg and cress. If you are going, advise you to book later so not having tea with the cleaners.

We arrived on time for Our booking , seated and forgotten about by a young girl with ginger hair the staff were zombies and so un organised no guidance at all … the service from the waiting on staff was atrocious!! Bar one guy he said he name was Chris and it was his first day (poor guy ! … that lad literally picked everyone else’s jobs up ! he tried to make sure all our party was happy and entertained including other neighbouring tables. I don’t believe this was his first shift for one second as his level of service is Impeccable , he did say he had been a restaurant manager for 5 year so this says it all really dixi Dean I think you really need to have a hard think and look into who you have managing your business and working in there , never to return ….

We went to the dixie dean restaurant with friends. We were a table of four. It took around 40 minutes to get our drinks (a mixture of cocktails and beers) which is an extremely long time in anyone's book. Our food hadn't arrived after over an hour of waiting and the manager stated that there had been a communication breakdown as the computer hadn't printed our order in the kitchen. We finally got our meals around and hour and half of waiting. Why have I given them five stars even with all these issues? The manager dealt with this really well, taking the time to speak with us and offering our meals and drinks for free. We were about to walk out and the way that the manager dealt with this was outstanding. He had spoken to the kitchen, was able to tell us what had happened, took the time to make the rest of our night special and we were really grateful for this. Jess is an absolute superstar and a real credit to the restaurant. She apologised, kept us informed, was polite throughout and smiled throughout (even though this wasn't the easiest situation to deal with.) Full respect for them both for dealing with this situation in this way. The food itself is stunning. We can recommend the chicken satay starter and steak main course. The restaurant is clean and there are no concerns with this. I would recommend this restaurant to friends based purely on the food quality and how everything was dealt with.

Great food, staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us especially Jess who was just so sweet and helpful, a real credit to the restaurant. Loved the singer (James Daniel) and made the atmosphere, would come back again. If signature living were to have a resident that young man is so talented and would be an asset!

Excellent atmosphere and really friendly staff. We went for derby day, was a 3 course meal and table service for drinks. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and the decor is modern with a classy touch. We booked through Jennifer Junglas at signature living. She is a pleasure to deal with and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day.

We made an on line reservation prior to coming to Liverpool & even received a confirmation email! We arrived to find it completely shut & had to try to find alternative place to eat which given the Covid issues was a nightmare!!

Booked online - had an email confirmation. Arrived at the hotel to find it locked and dark. Very poor that they did not let us know and the booking system still allows you to book despite being closer. Had to stand on the street phoning local restaurants to try and get a last minute booking - not exactly ideal for my partners bday night out!!

Yesterday we went to No 9 restaurant in The Dixie Dean hotel where we were welcomed and shown to our table by a pleasant young lady. Our waiter James arrived and for the next 2 hours not only served us but entertained us as well. The impressive restaurant is extensive, well laid out and there is no crowding of tables. The lunch menu does not have a lot of choice but if you can’t find a starter you like there is a separate small plates menu to choose from with plenty of choice. My wife enjoyed her « fish, chips and mushy peas and my « medium rare flat iron steak » was lovely. We shared an « Everton toffee » dessert which came with a tot of toffee vodka on the side which was delicious. All washed down with 2 peroni beers and a bottle of Pinot Grigio rose. If you do not want a hot meal there are also sandwich’s or a nice looking Afternoon tea. On the way out Dixie’s granddaughter had a word with us and if all the staff are as good as the ones we encountered they will be very good.

Been to the no9 restaurant in the dixie dean hotel a couple of times now. The food is top draw, I've had the scouse (picture included, and you also get a courtesy cauliflower cheese portion to go with it!) and a lamb roast. Top class....
