Queens Wine Bar and Bistro in Liverpool

Loved this place for a nice chilled afternoon Sunday roast. Had the ham hock which was delicious and we ordered the beed and chicken roast. The red wine was amazing and we had a cheeky port also.... very nice way to end the weekend. Big thank you to Fergus who served us and made the experience even better. The apple crumble we had to share which was good as portion was big - nice because it wasn't over done with sugar. Can't wait to go back to this place.

Popped in for lunch on a rainy Liverpool arvo and so glad we did. Opted for the lunch special, soup with a glass of house red and it was faultless. Very friendly staff and stunning little place, would be perfect for a date night.

Six of us had the Queen’s Breakfast here on a Sunday morning and it was magnificent. We’ve saved it to our favourites and will try it for dinner next time.

We went for a dinner yesterday. It was birthday of my friend and they served us a free drink and a free wonderful dessert. Staff was incredibly kind, probably the best I have seen in Liverpool so far. The atmosphere is great. The food is delicious. 5/5 for a classy dinner!

Beautiful little place in the heart of the city. We stopped for breakfast which was worth every penny. Hearty and tasty to satisfy the hungriest of appetites. Would highly recommend.

Came here with my partner a couple of days before my birthday March 2023. It looks lovely and cozy from the outside and I wanted to try somewhere new and that served good quality food unfortunately I have to say we felt a let down by this especially for the price. For the kind of place it is I expected to pay a little more which I don’t mind when it is worth it. We had the crab starter which we thought sounded interesting as it mentioned it was served on a crumpet. It basically consisted of cold poached egg which was placed on some cold crab paste a top a cold crumpet and it just wasn’t very nice at all and very claggy. For the main we ordered the lamb steak and a side of Pommes Anna as the mains didn’t come with a side or anything which is often the case in these kinds of places but I wasn’t expecting the lamb to come with so little. It was basically a large lamb steak which wasn’t the best quality as well as being quite fatty (and yes I know lamb can be fatty but I have had much better than this for far less) and a handful or two of rocket leaves which had basically seen better days and were turning brown in places along with peppercorn sauce which was the only real thing that had any decent flavour the lamb itself was hard to cut. The Pommes Anna began well but some how managed to become both bland and sickly at the same time. The food really looked nothing like the photos I had seen online, no real shuzz to it or anything I was expecting. The main basically looked like it had been thrown on the plate. We were really disappointed to say the least I’d really hoped for more and this was to be a treat at quite a pricey place. We got a glass of Prosecco each which again was ok but have had better and also ordered red wine to go with the lamb however this took a long time to arrive at the table and came way after the lamb arrived. We are not sure why it took this long because it wasn’t particularly busy. The waitress was generally nice however came across a little rude when she had gone to the table behind us and wished the woman who was there with her boyfriend a happy birthday whilst placing her dessert on the table with a sparkler. My partner commented I wasn’t the only one celebrating my birthday the waitress turned to me and said “oh is it your birthday?” I replied “This is my birthday meal but it is actually in 2 days time” to which she replied back with a flip of the hand “Oh right! Come back then, then” and flounced off! I’m not into being made a fuss off and when it comes to attention on myself I am quite reserved but it just seemed a little off and a little uncalled for, she could have simply wished me a happy birthday for the Saturday. All in all it cost shy of £100 but It is no where near worth it and wouldn’t wish to rush back here!

Very nice restaurant with a romantic atmosphere. Young and helpful staff both in the dining room and in the kitchen. Well-stocked wine list. The menu doesn't offer many alternatives, but I'd say it doesn't matter because the quality of the dishes is high. We had extremely good dishes. A really nice surprise. Kudos to the guys in the kitchen. I will definitely go back.

Fantastic little hidden gem in a cute arcade. Cosy, intimate atmosphere and fab menu. The staff are helpful and attentive, and every course was delicious even the olives were the best I’d ever tasted. It feels (and tastes!) like a lot of care and love goes into preparing each dish. Simply gorgeous and we hope to return soon.

The restaurant was very busy, and it felt like extra tables had been rammed in. It was like sitting in a corridor with diners and staff constantly rubbing past. It was certainly intimate, if your plan is to be intimate with random strangers. Took a long time for our order to be taken which naturally meant the food took a while. The food was okay, not as good as expected, based on previous reviews. The waiting staff worked very hard, in less than ideal conditions (lack of room etc.).

We stumbled across this place when looking for something a bit different and Queen's Wine Bar and Bistro did not disappoint. Great food and friendly service.

Amazing quality breakfast, superb ingredients, perfectly cooked. Homemade baked beans (no sugar loaded supermarket stuff here), whipped spice black-pudding, juicy sausage, streakly bacon, homemade hash browns, proper sourdough. Lovely cosy, place for a coffee and cake.

This place has an incredible atmosphere and is located in charming parisian streets. The food isn't for vegetarians. The fries were the best menu item we tried, but where this place excels is the service, the staff are lovely. It's more expensive than lots of places in the city. However, there's also an affordable lunch menu available from the counter, which is ideal for anyone on a budget.

Visited for breakfast following a rave recommendation from friends who know good food & restaurants. Breakfast only so far but will certainly return for lunch and/or dinner. Breakfast was of a very high standard. French Toast & the smaller full-English with a couple of the best mince pies we've ever had. Pastries are now all in-house apparently. Friendly & efficient service. A hidden gem set in an attractive arcade.

It's been a while since we ate there, and this time it was just for coffee and cake. This is a little oasis off the great Babylon that is Castle Street. We'll go back soon to try the promising selection of beers and light meals.

Consistently good food and reasonably priced. My favourite place for a work lunch as its small and quiet enough for conversation.

Looking forward to seeing you soon. 28 th October Booked a table for our 40 th wedding anniversary 3 pm Saturday 28 th October. Unfortunately when we arrived at 2,45 pm we were told only a limited lunch menu ie jacket potatoes Welsh rarebit ect, was available and that finished at 3 pm. No la carte until 4 pm! No option but to go elsewhere. Dissapointing to say the least,won't be back

Is down a small alleyway from like a by gone time. Breakfast is great sit in the window and watch the world go by. Not a typical venue but certain a place to eat in a relaxing atmosphere.

We have been to Queens bar on a few occasions and to be honest we should visit more often because its a really pleasant experience. We found it a couple of years ago before the dreaded pandemic and have sought to visit again. It's a bijou place with a great propensity to be special and special it is for it offers a relaxing atmosphere/ambience. Augmenting that it's a good place to sample all manner of different imported beers and a collection of wines. We have eaten there and it was very nice. A good little place that we are bound to visit again and again.

We chanced upon this place when taking a short cut through a side street. We booked ourselves in for a birthday lunch and were thrilled with service, food and wine. Simple things done incredibly well. Looking forward to going back when we next visit Liverpool.

We had one of the best meals we have ever had at Queens. The service and ambience in the restaurant were excellent and the proximity to the kitchen with advice on choices being given by the chef was a great experience. We had a mixture of starters between us and then chose lamb, bavette and chicken main courses which were all delicious. The deserts were equally excellent. Queens is a real find and one we will return to as soon as possible.

Our first time for breakfast at Queens - it was excellent. It is an a superb location that is worth a visit on its own. Add great food and great service you can’t go wrong. Many thanks to Hannah, Joe and Holly. Already planning our next trip for lunch. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

A great little wine bar hidden off Castle Street. You wouldn't believe that you were right in the centre of a bustling city

Folks, if you love French food, try this place very aesthetic. The wine selection is excellent and reasonably priced. The food was well prepared. Quite delicious and Feneck. Service was exceptional. I wish I would’ve taken some pictures for you trust me and know that the presentation was excellent. I would come back again in a minute. Right now I’m too busy eating my dessert that is unbelievable. Treat yourself to some excellent French food come here.

The food was so delicious! The mackerel and steak dishes puts you in France. The ambiance was very nice. Very best French food. Reason prices. Highly recommend.

This place was very authentic. The food was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. Service was excellent. Wine selection was great. If you’re looking for a great atmosphere great food great service come here I will certainly do it again myself.

We had a great evening meal here with olives and roast artichoke starters. For mains we tried the baked prawns and ratatouille. Both excellent. Water was provided and we each had a glass of wine. We booked online as the restaurant was quite busy and took an outside table as the evening was warm. Service was excellent and the atmosphere relaxed. Would definitely return.

We went last night for our 9 yr anniversary and had an excellent time. The staff and service were excellent with the entire team really knowing their stuff and how to treat their customers well. Overall the food and drinks were excellent but the starters and minimal intervention wines were the standout. Thanks for a great night and we will be back

An absolute gemm! Expertly breweed coffee, mouth watering food. Best food I had in years. Service also helpful, kind and thoughful. Just excellent!

Good food but didn't like them trying to get more money from us than they should have. We had the vegan breakfast but the waitress said an item listed was not available. She said we could choose a substitute which we did. The bill came out and we had to pay full price for an incomplete breakfast and we also had to pay for the substitutes. It ended up being an expensive breakfast. The manager's excuse for overcharging us was that it was expensive for him. It was pretty expensive for the customers as well. Next time let the customers know that they are paying extra for items instead of sneakily adding it to the bill at the end. Very poor practice!

Everywhere I go I drink wine. I drank some here. It smells like a butchers, in a good way.

Feel totally ripped off. Bought lindeman peach beer from here before about £9 for 2. Revisited and bought the same, but this time was charged £28 for 2. I can buy 1 bottle for less than £2. Shocked and disgusted. They cannot justify this price rise!!!

What a find! We had two nights in Liverpool and were so lucky to find this hidden gem. The service was not rushed but attentive and the wine selection and food quality was incredible. Some of the best food I have had in a long time. Will be recommending to friends visiting Liverpool and will return when next up.

Delicious food, very sweet place, tip top staff. We came across this restaurant by chance and were really pleasantly surprised.

We booked 2 months in advance for my wife’s birthday celebration. We asked for 2 dozen oysters for the 12 of us with champagne outside, prior to moving in after an hour. Then a meal of everyone’s choice inside. All done superbly on a warm evening. Not cheap but we did have plenty to eat and drink Thanks to Hannah for sorting all, and putting up with me wanting everything spot on. Which it was!

The food and the service is amazing, delicious dishes and cocktails. However this is the 3rd time we have issues with our bill, they have repeatedly charged us more than the price advertised in the menu. Be aware as this is a common practice, always check you bill because they increase items prices by £1 or £2 making your overall bill higher. It’s a shame, lovely restaurant but trying to take advantage of their customers. Won’t be coming back👎🏻

An impromptu visit to the city with my daughter. Hadn’t booked but they found us a table. This really is a gem of a place. Food was excellent, the best I’ve had in a while. Steak au poivre cooked perfectly. Service was excellent. Price very reasonable for this level of quality. I will be booking a table in the near future.

One of the best places you can eat at. Definitely great people and great food. There was so much respect and cleanliness. Gorgeous staff and most of all delicious food. Go get. Get the Ham Hock (there’s vegan and vegetarian options). Get some Wine and just enjoy yourself.

The waiter was gorgeously handsome but a little dim if you ask me. My kir Royale was hardly not empty! service slower than a Delvian wire transfer but sometimes things that are expensive are worse.

Amazing food, great nice side street, we felt like we are in Spain. Come back again to Liverpool, I could have not miss this place the food was amazing and so were Hanna and Jess with great service.

I came here for brunch one day and had the poached eggs on toast but swapped the meat for hashbrowns. I can genuinely say it was the best thing I ate during my stay in Liverpool. The staff were all lovely and even the coffee was decent. Would recommend to anybody looking for a quality brunch spot 😍

Good Liverpool bistro and wine bar in a quiet avenue just off Castle Street. Interesting menu and well cooked and presented dishes. Nice space with a few tables outside. Quiet at 21:00 on a Tuesday night.

This is a cosy spot on a beautiful hidden alley in Liverpool. It’s on the expensive side and while the menu described things in an exciting way, I wasn’t overly impressed with the breakfast and it was pretty small for the price. More of a fancy place that you’d take your Mum than somewhere to go for a breakfast that fills you up.

food was salty, we ordered the braised beef, we got braised carrots with some tiny strings of beef, it was very salty. Ordered the stem broccoli in green salsa ( green salsa was blended dill, I'd not usually put this together, it wasn't nice) chose not to risk ordering desert, if this restaurant want people to return they need to pull their finger out and understand why people choose to eat out and also consider the competition in Liverpool, there are some very talented chefs in Liverpool, to survive this place needs to get with the programme

Seating was very hard wooden seats, not very comfortable after being fed and watered over time.

Seriously, the service and people were so nice there; very welcoming and always attentive to the customers. The food was delicious, even though the waiting time was long, the atmosphere was making it for it! They have different menu for the meals, desserts and drinks! Everything was seriously delicious! Will go back again!

Absolutely delicious Full English breakfast. A really cozy place located down a light strung alley. We had a relaxing morning in a window seat with a nice mixture of trendy and quant atmosphere.

Average food for a high end price. All the dishes were lacking a little something to make them stand out. The Mackrell is a generous portion, but mild flavours. The chicory was bitter, with nothing to offset that. Deserts were pleasant. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed, even though the restaurant seats only 25-30 people upstairs. Food to quite a while to come out. We were sat infront of the door, so I kept my coat om the entire night. I wouldn't go back.

Food was delish! Service was 11/10! We had Sophie looking after us and she was so enthusiastic and funny! Haven't had that level of service in a very long time! Laughing the whole time! Made our experience! You guys are lucky to have her! Defo will be back again!
