My wife and I went here for our 25th wedding anniversary. Like some establishments of this quality we thought it was going to be quite formal but from the minute we got there and were greeted by Steven we felt comfortable and in a relaxed atmosphere. The vibe is chilled, cosy and comfortable. The food was of the best standard and I would rate it as the best dining experience I’ve ever had. Great information on every dish that was served from ingredients to the inspiration for each dish. Same with the wine. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a truly unique experience.

This is undoubtedly the best dining experience that Liverpool has to offer. The food is imaginative and packed with flavour. There is great attention to detail on presentation and texture using ingredients that work in harmony. The staff were friendly and created a great atmosphere. This is fine dining at it's best and comparable to restaurants I have eaten in that hold 2 and 3 Michelin stars. Hats off to Andrew and his team

Great dining experience overall. From first entering with drinks and canapés upstairs to the dining experience downstairs. Watching chef cooking the final touches to a well prepped list of ingredients was interesting and informative. The flavour explosions were amazing on the palate, not huge portion sizes but we were certainly not hungry when we left. Probably a bit difficult if you went with a group of diners as you sit at long tables but was perfect for us a couple. Top end dining so not cheap but we went for exceptional food and so were not disappointed. There are optional extra add ons but no hard sell so no pressure to have them.

Visited 8 a few weeks ago for our first wedding anniversary. All I can say is, it is absolutely incredible. Excellent service with knowledgable and friendly staff, the freshest, longest ingredients and every course was incredible. Very pricey, however worth every penny. I’d highly recommend going for the wine flight accompaniments - we got to experience some fantastic new wins that we’d never tried before and will definitely be making their way onto our wine rack. Would 100% recommend for special occasions.

Visited here in April and was absolutely blown away with the meal and experience. We had the tasting menu with drinks paring and it was incredible from start to finish, every single dish was a treat and was just left wanting more after the courses were finished. This was the first time eating at a chef’s table, but he was always engaging and was happy to answer any questions we had on the food that was being prepared in front of us which is a nice touch. The service was also great, with every dish and drink being introduced and didn’t feel like it was being read from a script as can often be the case and were always happy to engage and chat with us. The place is definitely a bit more laid back than other restaurants similar to this, but in a good way. It still has the atmosphere but never once felt pretentious. Good value for money too I believe, and can’t wait to come back one day. One of the best meals I’ve ever had.

I was celebrating my birthday with my family. The food was delightful and innovative. I did not know there could be so may ways to present milk. And your cheese course must be the most unusual I have ever eaten. I really liked to be able to watch and talk to the chef all the way through the main courses. I will be going again!

Our visit was good but I had high expectations for Restaurant 8 and sadly wasn’t blown away (especially considering the £500 price tag), however with a few tweaks it could be very good. The initial experience in the “waiting / bar” area is good and the host Hayley very welcoming and helpful. There you can order drinks and enjoy “chefs snacks”. The snacks were very good, especially the tuna taco served to you by the chef. I should say here that Andy Sheridan wasn’t there himself (the two chefs in his place were still very good) however, when paying a peak supplement on top of the price of an extra £15pp this ought not to be charged on evenings where Andy himself is not the chef in my opinion - and diners should be made aware in advance if he is not going to be there. From there you enter the restaurant experience and have the food cooked and served to you. Here is where the concept becomes slightly flawed, the restaurant is billed as an immersive interactive experience but in reality because of the set up of the seats along a long bar only the 4 seats directly in-front of the chef have an interactive experience. Unfortunately we were sat to the far left of the long table and no cooking took place in front of us, even though there were hobs directly in front. This results in some guests having a substandard experience to the rest of the group, although having paid the same. It seems strange to me that more effort wouldn’t be made to ensure an interactive experience for all guests when this could be easily achieved, either by moving guests around after each “ section” of the menu - mains / starter, or simply the chef moving his preparation area before dessert for example. The scallop dish and sea trout were very good. The wine pairing was good, with Hayley picking some fantastic wines to accompany the dishes. Overall with a few tweaks the restaurant could be excellent but the seating needs to be addressed for it to fulfil expectations as an interactive experience.

This is a difficult review for me to post. 8 by Andrew Sheridan is a beutiful place the food theater is amazing to watch and the staff are incredible attentive. The food itself is delicious and the presentation is like a miniature work of art. Having said that we left after two and a half hours having with 4 courses remaining. We were quite simply hungry and to put my size in to perspective I weigh 69 kgs. With a bottle of champers and a bottle of red wine we racked up an impressive bill of 520 pounds. We ended up at subway for a sandwich. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area and apologies I couldn't leave a higher star rating.

Special mentions to Hayley and (in the absence of Andrew) young, local (by the accent) chef J (not sure how he spells J…) but he can cook, well, and extremely knowledgeable and passionate about everything he does and they do. Our 2nd visit, value for money questionable as very expensive (with drinks, we went for the (excellent) wine pairing) but an experience to remember and food not to forget, highly recommended

Came across this place whilst looking for someplace special to dine whilst in Liverpool for a few days. Consider it found. On entering you know that this is something different as you head down into the cellars after a warm welcome. Often informality can imply a lack of attention to detail. Not here. Everything is professional and the front of house staff, and in this I include the chefs are, well, nice is perhaps an understatement. As part of two groups of 8 at separate countertops, after appetisers, you can see every aspect of your culinary journey being progressed. Entertaining and fascinating. So, to keep this short, the food? Absolutely delightful. The moral of the story, go there. It’s a great experience at a very reasonable price. And you leave with a full stomach. Excellent!

Absolutely fabulous experience from the first minute to the last. Haley and Frank are so engaging, they make you feel so welcome and look after you throughout the meal. Chefs are exceptional and create stunning dishes. Loved every second, the food was incredible, from the snacks before you go down to the chefs tables for the 8 course to the petite fours at the end. Nothing in Liverpool compares. Not cheap but worth every penny. If you're looking for something special look no further, we'll definitely be back.

We are very fortunate to have been in some of the UK top restaurants over many years now. Restaurant 8 is without question the most memorable of them all. It is casual, it is elegant, it is just one sensational experience from start to finish. The food was simply stunning with some of it cooked right in front of you for that interactive experiance. The chefs were chatty and engaging and are clearly invested in the business. We were truly blown away. An easy 10/10......flawless.

I don’t quite no were to start to describe this sensory overload. It’s like going to a show but one were you get fed , watered & entertained. Such a cool venue & the staff are just a huge part of that. It’s obviously the food we go for but it’s so much more than just food. It’s the flavours, the presentation the knowledge, craftsmanship & expertise that made it such a stunning evening. At £300 pp we did order all the extras like truffle, caviar, cocktails so it’s not cheap but it’s worth every penny in my opinion. I also came out surprisingly full! I didn’t expect that, but all the delicious food & beautiful wines made sure I went home with a happy belly & a happy heart. Thank you Eight, you were spectacular ❤️ Ps: My only gripe was the water isn’t free which they don’t tell you as they are serving it to you, it’s £5 pp. I only had half a whiskey glass full, so it was officially the most expensive water I’ve ever drank 🤦♀️🤣

Lunch at "8" by Andrew Sheridan on 13.01.24. You're first led into a dimly lit lounge area as soon as you come in. You enjoy a cocktail (or two) and Chef's snacks here. I had a Banana and salted caramel Old Fashioned, highly recommended! ⚜️ 3 snacks are served in the lounge are small but fully packed with flavour. Mini mushroom tart served with broth stood out for me as simply divine! ⚜️ In about 30-40 mins, you're ushered downstairs to the downstairs dining area with two long ceramic tables for 8, where the chefs cook the food right in front of you. ⚜️ First course: Sea Trout with bergamot & coconut in jalapeño water. Spicy and tasty, paired well with a citrusy Bodega Agerre, Txakoli from Basque. ⚜️⚜️ Second course: Monkfish fried in butter with spiced pumpkin & pumpkin seeds. Lovely Indian flavors paired with a delicious Riesling Kabinett. ⚜️⚜️⚜️ Third course: Wagyu beef with mushroom bolognese & black pepper paired with a glass of Vivens Margaux. Buttery Wagyu and an amazing wine. One of the top 2 dishes for me and my favorite wine of the day. ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Fourth course: Shetland Cod in Thai red curry & XO butter served with Domaine Gauby orange wine. ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Fifth course: Roasted Duck with Plum sauce paired with Domaine de Brezeme from Cotes du Rhone. Simply delicious. My favorite dish! ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Sixth Course: Passionfruit with malibu, lime & white chocolate foam served with an optional yuzu sake. Well balanced dish with a perfect pairing. Not a fan of sake typically but this yuzu sake was extraordinary! ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Seventh Course: Cornish Saffron Bun served with clotted cream, apple and miso sauce. This dish was paired with Rubis Chocolate Wine, my first ever taste of it and I'm obsessed! ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Eighth course: Wagyu fat fried soda bread with Baron Biggard cheese and truffle, paired with Coonawarra Cab Sauv. Though small in portion, a super tasty way to finish this amazing meal. ⚜️ Just as you think it's all over when you're taken back upstairs to the lounge, one final bit of surprise: a chocolate with pistachio and cardamom cream inside. Simply perfect. ⚜️ I have to mention Hayley the host, is out of this world and adds much to this overall amazing experience. This restaurant definitely deserves a Michelin Star! Paid £252 incl service and additional yuzu sake and initial cocktail.

Lunch. An immersive and exciting dining experience. The menu begins in the bar with chef’s snacks as they appear dramatically from behind a black curtain. Let the show begin. We are led down a dark, moody staircase to the dining room and take our places at one of two chefs tables. There's no waiting staff as everything is prepared and served by the chefs themselves. One of our chefs was the very charming Jake. As he talks us through the components of each dish, the whole thing feels very natural. First on the pass is Hamachi,Bergamot & Coconut. Followed by a very tasty Cornish Cod,Tikka & Pumkin Seeds. Wagyu Beef,Teriyaki & Maitake, which was blow torched in front of diners. Next up was Scottish Langoustine in a delicious Thai Green Curry & Cashew. The star of the show was Roasted Duck with Prune & Waldorf. Desserts Passionfruit,Coconut & Lime. A very sticky Cornish Saffron Bun,Clotted Cream, Rhubarb & Tarragon. Finished off with a delightful little soda bread,Baron Bigod & Truffle. After the meal, you are led back up to the bar for a last little sweat treat. The cooking is outstanding. An experience itself is more than the food on the plate as the stars of the show are the chefs themselves. We loved it and would gladly go again when back in Liverpool.

Lovely staff, and some delicious food! Watching the plating up of the dishes was interesting; the commentary from one Sicilian and another Liverpudlian cook regarding particular courses was fun! As a great lover of cheese, sadly, the cheese offering was the only really underwhelming part of the menu; I noticed others did not partake - I did eat mine! It was disappointing that Mr. Sheridan did not join our party at any point as we were the evening's only guests. As for aesthetics, I personally am not keen on black walls as, despite a few little lights, a touch brighter environment brings with it a more comfortable ambience. Nevertheless, it was a great pleasure to spend precious time in celebration with family and friends! This is another gift from a family who sources and provides new experiences to share - always a joy and always thoughtfully planned!

We can't rate more than 5. Simply a wonderful experience. Staff were amazing, so friendly. It wasn't formal, you were actively encouraged to get your fingers in! Didn't feel time pressured. Most expensive meal we have ever had (we are from Yorkshire) but we'll worth it! Should be a Michelin star!!

Sitting along the table with other diners & interacting with the chefs as they cooked each dish directly in front of us, just showed their genuine passion for their profession. We would highly recommend Restaurant 8 to all our friends & family. Most definitely worthy of a Michelin star ⭐

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Restaurant 8, I had a brilliant evening and loved both the concept and execution. I said to Andy and the team on the night that it felt like a dinner party at a friends house - with the most sublime food being served up. I’ll be returning next time I’m in Liverpool and I’d advise anyone reading this review to check it out.

We can't thank Andy and his incredible team enough for immersing us in such a wonderfully relaxed but vibrant experience. The personal touch set the stage for an exceptional night where our senses were equally delighted, tantalised and satisfied. Each element of every dish was singing with intense flavour and the wine pairings delivered new, exciting profiles. Our only regret is that we live in London and can't return on a regular basis.

Could 8 finally give Liverpool its first star? Super impressed from start to finish, and I actually don't want to spoil too much, but we were incredibly well looked after, in terms of both the food and the service. This is very much an intimate dining experience, essentially sat with the chefs all evening, and if you're a fan of tasting menus and a service team at the top of their game, you'll be delighted. Three hours flew by. Seriously wonderful. Can't wait to go back. Our bill came to just shy of £300 for two, and worth every penny.

The best dining experience in Liverpool. From the second we were welcomed into 8, we felt we were in for an amazing experience, the snacks offered by Andrew in the bar area were all stunning and so powerful in taste that we couldn't wait for the next course. We were led to the counter where our chef carefully cooked and explained the dishes in front of us,with each perfectly paired wine offered and explained by possibly the best sommelier we have ever encountered. Each dish was more intense in flavour than the last and followed each other perfectly. The highlights for me were the mangalica pork with a beautifully intense broth, a beautiful scallop with brown butter and one of the best dishes I have ever had, an intense grana padano custard with apple caramel. I genuinely didn't want it to end. What an absolutely amazing experience. We will absolutely be back.

For a first time at a tasting menu experience this was the perfect evening. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left we left like we where among friends, Hayley and Frankie welcomed us and made us feel at ease. Piper and Andy had prepared the most amazing dining experience that money could buy and true to the surrounding area the evening felt informal, friendly and like you where being welcomed into somebodies (exceptional) kitchen. For me this is only something that could be done on a very special occasion but I have told everyone that I can in the last week that it is worth the money. I can't wait to see what this team does in the future and I'm sure they can achieve Liverpool's first Michelin star.

Entered a darkened room with background music, offered a drink and sat down in anticipation. We could see two chefs busy in the corner but no sign of traditional tables for dinner, we wondered what we had come to, surely this must be better than a Friday night chippie! The chef brought us the first of three snacks, the promised fine dining experience exploded into life. The delicate snack had more flavour than the entire tasting menu we had had at Elemento a week earlier. Wow the bar had been set high, two more snacks came each one trumping the previous. We were then ushered downstairs to a countertop bar style range with comfy stools and chef Andy Sheridan introduced himself explaining the format. 8 course tasting menu with wine pairing and what a delight, taste buds dancing with the depth and layers of flavour, excellently paired with meticulously selected wines. With no weak course we just didnt want it to end. Liverpool has finely got a Restaurant that is truly fine dining, with a home grown Chef who has an extraordinary talent for creating exceptional dishes. Could this be Liverpool's first Michelin star, dont waste any time book yourselves a seat.

This time we went to the bold Street restaurant. Like it’s Systar restaurant down at the docks, it is not very large. Absolutely today’s rule applies; you have to book ahead for this place and I will say booking head as well worth it. This was the best food we had over a long weekend in Liverpool. Everything was really excellent. They squeeze us in at the bar and that turned out to be just fine and an easy way to share the tapas plates that they had. Everything from food to service and even value for money was just great. This will definitely be among the top choices when we are next in the city.
