The New Treorchy Hotel in Rhondda Cynon Taf

Used to cum in all the time when Chris had it. Great place, cheap food, good times. Not anymore! Drugs openly taken by regulars, expensive food, burnt pizza, rude staff. Awful place to go unless you are drunk or on something. Avoid at all costs.

We went as there was no else to go. Regretted it. Staff were very nice buts it's a losing battle. Don't think the drinks had alcohol in and the toilets had their own insect farm! They don't do cocktails or bottles of wine. Music was good but more like a nightclub than a bar. It's small and compact And the egulars seem very relaxed. Was here before it changed hands and it was very good then. Now we felt like we didn't belong which is a shame as We do!

This place was a complete dive. But since going under new management, it's come alive. Nice food, reasonably priced booze and good entertainment.

Don't be put off by what you might read about this pub. The value for money is excellent here. You simply can't go wrong with the Sunday lunches and the entertainment is brilliant. The best thing about this pub is the drinks are cheap! For a great night out or a well priced meal visit The Treorchy Hotel! Chris Jones is a great guy!

Firs time here food was nice and good value for money and very friendly staff would visit again hopefully soon

We booked a table for 20 on 14.4.19 As heard it was under new management. And what can i say the place is spotless. The staff are so nice cant do enough for you..the food was amazin! I had a mixed grill it came with all the trimmings i would of payed alot more for it only cost £5.99 and comes with free desssert! My freind had hunters chicken again all the trimmings it was lovely. Dont listen to bad reviews i highly reccomend you visit and see yourself.

I went for breakfast with my friend. We were the first ones there. The tables were dirty from the night before. The place was dirty. The food was cold. I asked for mine to be warmed up which the staff didnt seem happy about. They went to check the temperature on the food which clearly wasnt warm enough, they got lids to cover it. There were no eggs, when we finished they then brought out hard boiled eggs. People were asking for tomato sauce as to which the rude staff said "you need my glasses because its there" the sauce wasnt there and there was no apology. I will never go there again. Terrible food, dirty and terrible service

Food was excellent value. Two courses for £5.99. I had the 6oz steak and it was cooked to perfection. The meal & dessert was lovely and the staff very friendly. Would definitely visit again. We were strangers to the area but they made us feel very welcome.

Good food at the right price and friendly helpful staff who couldn't do enough for us. Recommended!!

Food was delicious gorgeous deco and lovely staff couldn’t do enough for me ... good entertainment there too Friday and very good value for food and desserts out of this world I will deffinately be returning x

Went to Treochy hotel today for my daughter's birthday , we had the carvery it was excellent value for money , the food was nice and hot , the gravy was stunning too The meat was lovely , we also had pudding which I have to say was very nice too can't believe the great value .Will be making a regular visit , and will be trying the Chinese buffet too . Recommend this place nice friendly welcoming staff

Having sent my meal back because the chicken was cold and the topping hot, had the same the second time, so I just left it, I couldn't be bothered to complain again I didn't see the point. Rang beforehand about vegetarian options for my Grandson, and checked again before we ordered, only to be told AFTER they had checked with the kitchen, that the chosen options were not available after all. He ended up with very very overcooked veggie sausages and a pile of salad and mash, he was not impressed and only picked at a bit of it. Very poor - I try and support our locality but cannot recommend this. It's pub food which should not be difficult to get right, especially as we were the only ones there!

Was up for a family birthday party. We had to wait nearly 2 hours for our food. They said there was 58 of us to cook... All I can say is that have more staff one for larger functions. The stake was nice, That stopped me giving 1 star.

Visited for a family friend’s birthday; the hotel staff were clearly unprepared to cater to a larger group and so some were left waiting for main course (as the hotel apparently does not begin to cook your order until you have paid for it) while some people were already being given dessert. The food was bland and did not live up to the descriptions in the menu. Would not recommend and will not be visiting again.

I attended a friends 60th birthday celebrations here and the level of service and standard of food was mediocre to say the least, Everything seemed to be of cheap, inferior quality with no regard given to presentation. The cultery and napkins were of cheap quality, the sauces were in sachets that we had to fetch ourselves, salt was in plastic containers and the vinegar in off the shelf bottles. We were asked to place our orders in advance and then when we arrived we were told that we had to place our orders & pay for them at the bar and wait for them to be cooked. They were correct about the wait, over an hour later my meal arrived. 4 overcooked vegetarian sausages, mashed potato which was just plonked on my plate and which was either frozen or dried, (it had a grainy texture) and a garnish of wilted watercress, lettuce & a tomato quarter. The whole thing was bland, nothing like the description in the menu. I didn’t complain to the staff because I did not wish to upset my friend but I certainly cannot recommend this place. Insufficient number of chefs, waiting and bar staff meant long delays. A disappointing visit back to my home valley and I certainly won’t be visiting this place again.

Arrived for 1 o’clock as booked, hadn’t been there before, waited for 15 minutes for service to be told we had to order at the bar, there was nothing on the menu or in the dining room to indicate this! Chicken was off the menu, this was an hour into the Sunday lunches which was on offer for another 3 hours, after we had been served, beef was off! The meal itself was very good value and I have no complaints about it. My mother and I ordered Black Forest gateau but there was only one portion left according to the supervisor although my husband was sure he had seen a full one in the chiller cabinet but when he went to check it wasn’t there. After I had chosen and started to eat another desert I saw two portions being served to others, when we raised this with the Supervisor she said she didn’t realise there was another one there although we think she took it out of the cabinet! She was very curt and said they were very busy, her attitude leaves a lot to be desired for customer service! However, the waitress who served us, young with tattoos on her arm was exceedingly helpful and pleasant.

We have just had a very nice meal we had nt booked but we had lovely table we were impressed by decor and amazed at prices .I had chicken ,partner had gammon and food came piping hot and plenty of it,and cooked lovely .

Birthday meal with family 8 people. When we arrived, Firstly, told my booking was moved from 7pm to 5pm i hadnt changed it! Then no table prepped in restaurantfor us. Then they had out of 3 things my mother asked for, then 3 anaemic steak pies came out. No eggwash on them. Looked disgusting. No meal came for my mother! When we asked it came after everyone had eaten. My sisters curry looked like a frozen findus packet one and i couldnt get a fork in my corned beef pie. Sent it back. No-one came to appologise or offer me anything else.. wont be back!

Delicious beef dinner with all the trimmings. The decor is new and attractive now. Service is good and booking advised as it gets busy. The price is very reasonable.

I've heard so much about the new treorchy hotel, and that it's under new management, so I felt the need to visit. And it did not disappoint at all! The food is absolutely beautiful, and the prices are fantastic! It's been done out beautifully. You have a variety of main meals on the menu, which gives you a better chance to try something new, and delicious. I would highly recommend to my friends and family 1000%.staff are welcoming, and will help with any problems you have aswell.

Heard about the new management at the treorchy hotel so decided to try it with friends. And was very impressed with the meals and value for money. The staff were all very friendly and cheerful, also very happy to help. Will defo be visiting soon again. Keep up the great work and customer service. Also the decoration is stunning xxx

Since new ownership the pub is beautifully done so clean food is amazing and the staff us very helpful 5 out 5 for the whole experience

Called in for a drink mid afternoon. Toilets were not exactly the cleanest and what appeared to be the cellar door was propped open with a box of vegetables. Hope this wasn’t going to be used for tomorrow’s Sunday lunches

The three mothers in our party were impressed with the quality, service and taste of their Sunday dinner and desserts to celebrate Mother’s Day. Roast pork, turkey and beef were the main dinners on offer with plenty of veg and gravy to hand, as well as Yorkshire Puddings and stuffing! The range of desserts included jam roly poly and custard (yum), chocolate fudge cake, lemon meringue, strawberry gateau and ice cream. All in our party were fed well and enjoyed the time together. The mothers received a small box of chocolates and had their desserts for free. The restaurant was full with customers enjoying the pre-rugby atmosphere in the recently redecorated interior. We will return!

My wife and I were in this pub for a baby shower about a month ago and said then that we would book for a Sunday lunch, but we did not manage to untill this Sunday. I have to say the place has been done out lovely and we received a warm welcome. We were seated immediatly and our food order taken right away. There was a choice of meats available and the veg comes on seperate serving trays, which I like as you can add what you like. I have to say the food was amazing. I had the pork and it melted in the mouth, my wife had the chicken and it was just as good. There was a range of foods on offer for dessert and even though I was full, I tucked into the apply crumble and custard. We will come here again for food as its just a 5 minute drive from where we live. It's nice to see a local pub making an effort especially with the good value they offer on price.

Undergoing refurbishment, so did not look too closely at the cosmetic side of things. Helpful friendly staff, good knowledge of the menu and local beers.
