Ordered a delivery and after 30mins I received a message informing me order had been cancelled with no explanation! No apology, shocking and wouldn't order again

Ordered Sat pm. Difficult to order as other conversation conducted whilst were trying to place order. Rung back 2 min later to tell us no lamb..... When delivery order arrived...cold and one curry leaked out of container. One rice and Bombay Aloo missing. I rung restaurant - but was told originally that I hadn't ordered them! Did eventually admit their fault - just kept saying not charged for and a very insincere apology of sorts. Saturday meal ruined, food wasn't even that good. The Prawn tikka Massalla sauce I am convinced was watered down Heinz ketchup with some powdered spices. Beware!

Waited almost 2 hours for a delivery which said it would take 40 mins and when it arrived instead of a chicken tikka masala and a chicken korma we received a small tandoori salad and a prawn korma... I phoned up and complained and was simply told the delivery driver had gone home, so they couldn't give us what we ordered. Not good service.

Ordered our meals for delivery and then waited over 2 hours for it to bedelivered. While waiting we rang numerous of times to be given its on its way then they just put the phone down on you. Once we got our food the chicken tikka was small, onions and veg looked like it wasn't thresh produce! Wouldn't recommend at all.

False advertising went a few weeks ago and found out half way through the meal it isn't run by Indians at all and the meat is Halal, which wasn't advertised. Appalling lying about the contents of the food.

We ordered a takeaway from here last night. It is with great sadness that I would not recommend what used to be a fantastic restaurant. We received our meals and although my curry was of an acceptable standard my partners chicken left a lot to be questioned as to what goes on behind closed doors here. Before posting anything for all to see we have made an attempt to contact the restaurant, more so to make them aware that another customer may not be as vigilant as we were when cutting open this chicken. We were told we could have a refund for the chicken only with no sign of an apology nor any sign of remorse for sending out a meal that quite evidently was no fit for human consumption. Their justification for this was that they ‘were a bit busy’. This isn’t good enough and could have resulted in making people feel ill. My intention was to show the restaurant the error of their ways in order to prevent this from happening again but I feel as though they were prepared to just brush this off as a totally irrelevant manner. I can safely say we will not be returning here again through fear of being made very poorly from undercooked food.

Wow! To my great surprise this was actually very nice!! I honestly can't fault it Very generous portions, fresh and piping hot. Very flavoursome. Quick and efficient service. Will defo be back and recommend to everyone.

Shocking service. We tried the New Simla for the first time tonight. Ordered at 8pm for collection at 8.30pm. It was finally ready at 9pm, arrived home to see that part of the order was missing and the photo below was a “tandoori” salad which was £2.50. We called and they said they would deliver the missing meal in 10 minutes. 1 hour and 30 minutes later it has still not arrived. Extremely disappointing.

Walked in asked if they had a table for 2 please he said i will have a look we went in it was empty 😄 Food ok just the 2 of us in restaurant slow service no alcohol so we will pass next time 🤣

Best Indian restaurant in melton will be going back again

We have been happily returning again and again to the Simla for around a year now, it really is a superb restaurant, and we’ve had takeaways from the Simla too. The menu is large with all classics you’d want plus a range of house specials. The wait staff have been happy to make recommendations when asked. The food is consistently delicious, timely and well priced. Good wine menu and selection of other drinks. We had not had any disappointments here at all.

Well priced, delicious large portions, the staff were very friendly, and the interior is modern and clean.

Our favourite Indian EVER - AMAZING FOOD, SERVICE & PRICES everytime. Would 100% recommend anyone. & the takeaways & deôwas 100% that week

Ordered tonight and had fantastic service, a slight error with our order that was sorted very quickly and professionally, food was so tasty and beautifully cooked, the lamb in my Mixed Tandoori Korai fell apart, definitely recommend and.will be ordering from here again next time we are in the area

Visited yesterday evening ( 10th June 2019 )...nice welcome from staff and plenty of choice of places to sit, was very quiet on our visit, nice lighting and decor, staff not in your face but didn't keep us waiting when we were ready to order, best onion bhaji's ever, light n crispy batter and 2 of them too for a starter with a small amount of salad, dips used with our poppadoms were lovely and made a great accompaniment for our bhajis...couple of bottles of Cobra , ordered chicken korahi, pilau rice and keema naan, absolutely delicious, all of it, lots of tender chicken chunks and plenty of sauce too, great flavours ....my tongue was doing a dance with delight.....one of the best rubies in ages, not overly expensive either although the Cobra bumped the price up a bit, but that's fair enough. HIghly recommended, will defo be making a return visit sometime soon, thanks Simla !!

Had a takeaway tonight, service very good exceptional quick delivery and great telephone manor but the food was luke warm when it arrivedeven though it was alot earlier than stated on the phone. May be try again??

The best curry in town! Highly recommend Simla fantastic food good prices and the portions are generous. The takeaways are just as good too.

Excellent food outstanding service I've never had a bad meal here. The staff are really friendly specially sid one of the waiter's and the chef always comes and has a chat with us and ask us how the food was and shah the chef knows exactly how I like my food and makes me special dishes that are not on the menu 😊👑

Excellent curry house - catered well to my Coeliac Wife and Mother In Law and were very informative about their processes when cooking. The food was great and arrived quickly - recommended definitely!

We were torn about whether to visit here or Apurba which is close by, but we are very happy that we gave this place a try. Whilst the interior is a little bit shabby in parts, the food was excellent. My husband loves Indian food and said it was the best curry that he had ever had (chicken and keema curry). We would definitely visit again.

Absolutely amazing food, from the moment we walked in the customer service was spot on. It wasn't busy when we went in but food was out in the table in no time. We didn't want parts of the set meal and the chef accommodated this. Food was out this world and then on leaving they put what we couldn't eat in a doggy bag. Now going to order as a take away too :) Thanks

Garlic Chilli Chicken not really hot. Food was average as was all everything else. Just ok.
